Budapest Winter Culinary Adventure Part 1

Below is part 1 of my culinary adventure list during my short business trip to Budapest:

1. Gerbeaud : Vörösmarty tér 7-8, 1051 Hungary

Enjoying a warm cup of latte and a delicious slice of cake at the popular Gerbeaud Cafe located at Vorosmarty ter.

2. Kollazs Brasserie & Bar : Széchenyi István tér, 1051 Hungary

Lunch time at Kollazs Brasserie & Bar with their signature lunch set consisting of lettuce soup, caesar salad, duck with lentils, and a chocolate mousse. 

For me, the star of the meal was the simple warm bread accompanied by a delicious black olive dip.

3. New York Cafe : Erzsébet krt. 9-11, 1073 Hungary

Enjoying my tea break before a meeting at the world renowned New York Palace Cafe which is regarded as the most beautiful cafe in the world. 

For my tea time, it was a selection of New York cakes accompanied by Hungarian coffee which is simply strong black coffee with a shot of alcohol. The dessert was not too bad though it is not a place that I will return again.

4. Barack & Szilva : Klauzál u. 13, 1072 Hungary

Dinner time with my team members at the cosy restaurant, Barack & Szilva, which serves delicious Hungarian cuisine with beautiful wine pairings. I selected the Hungarian traditional dinner menu with wine pairing which featured foie gras salad, goulash soup, duck fillet, and apple crepe with ice cream. The meal was memorable and comforting, and is a restaurant that I would proudly recommend to my foodie friends.
