#New york is laid out poorly having been one of teh first cities established in America and it’s fun

Okay. I am a native New Yorker. And I— I hate it when people who HAVE NO CLUE WHAT NEW YORK LOOKS LIKE writes about it like it’s just one small town with a couple buildings behind it— InCoRrEcT. Please, it’s not that hard to just do a quick google search of New York, and New York City, PlEaSe I beg of you.

New York has high rises and low rises, due to the sediment it’s made up of. The low rises, queens, Bronx, etc, are usually low rise, two to five story buildings, a more rural area. Manhatta (SoHo), Brooklyn, and some parts of queens have the tall skyscrapers you see in the movies. The entire city is made up of islands ie, Staten Island, Long Island, and peninsulas (land surrounded by water on three sides but still connected to land. (Manhattan)

It takes anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour to reach suburbs like Scarsdale, New Rochelle, White Plains, Mamaroneck, and Yonkers. Yonkers being more of a subsection of The Bronx.
