Boring life update:

After looking at all the options in the budget phone range, I'm just going with the newest version of the phone I have.

While a "nicer" phone would be good, the reviews from other long time moto g fans say the same thing--2023 is a huge improvement over the other ones in this line but you can still drop your phone with abandon and have it be okay.

My phone requirements are: basic internet and the ability to drop my phone an average of 3 times a day for 3 straight years and still have it function. I AM the intended original Nokia user. And moto g delivers on that kind of durability. So, basic budget phone it is!

Finally set up the new phone. @hthrrloooo was correct about the Google pixel 6a camera. It's a delight. I'm having so much fun with it. Included are pics from my 7 mile night walk last night & Sunday morning, during which we listen to van Morrison; do playtime; move slowly.

NEW PHONE CASE ARRIVED TODAY!!!! I can FINALLY go back to having the same one I've had since approximately uhhh 2015? 2016??? I didn't have it for my last phone because the place I order cases from doesn't offer them for the Pixel 6a, and I haven't found anywhere else reliable that custom prints heavy duty cases that I like.

BUT!!!!! I got a Pixel 8 Pro this week, and they do make them for it, so here I am!!! WE ARE SO BACK!!!

Android Phones with Exynos Chipset Need Security Updates

Last Updated: 29 March 2023

Google's Project Zero found numerous vulnerabilities in the Exynos chipset used by a variety of Android phones. The most severe of them could allow an attacker to remotely compromise a phone, without the phone owner needing to do anything. The attacker just needs the phone number. That said, it doesn't seem to be under active exploit yet, at least as far as public news goes.

Affected Devices: Only phones with certain Exynos chipsets are vulnerable. Adding to the confusion is the fact that in some cases, the same phone model has different chips, depending on where in the world it was sold.

The Samsung S22 is one example: the version sold in Europe has Exynos, but those sold in many other places have a Qualcomm chip.

Affected Chipsets: Exynos Modem 5123, Exynos Modem 5300, Exynos 980, Exynos 1080, and Exynos Auto T5123.

Google provided this list of likely affected devices based on the chipset list:

Samsung Galaxy phones including those in the S22, M33, M13, M12, A71, A53, A33, A21s, A13, A12, and A04 series

Vivo phones including those in the S16, S15, S6, X70, X60, and X30 series

Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro

Any vehicles that use the Exynos Auto T5123 chipset

Exploited?: I haven't yet found information saying the vulnerabilities are known to have been exploited, but the Project Zero researchers stated "With limited additional research and development, we believe that skilled attackers would be able to quickly create an operational exploit to compromise affected devices silently and remotely".

Mitigation: Google recommends you turn off Wi-Fi calling and Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) on the affected devices. However, they have acknowledged that depending on carrier, you may not be able to turn off VoLTE.

Furthermore, you may not be able to use your phone for voice at all if VoLTE is off, depending on carrier, etc. So realistically, your best bet is a patch. See below.

Fix: As of the latest update to this post, Google has said the Pixel 7, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a have the critical vulnerabilities patched in the March 2023 security update.

It looks like at least some of the Samsung models have some patches available, so install any security updates you have pending and keep an eye out for more.

I went to get my 3a phone fixed and it'd be $200 but they can't fix the frame bc it's old enough that there aren't parts. So they can fix the cracked screen but they can't guarantee the screen will stay in place.

And a new Pixel 6a is $450? I guess probably I've worn this phone down enough to justify a whole new one? Or living with the bad, loose screen until I am forced by worsening state.

It was very heavy to leave Paris without you. However Paris never was a favorite place for me, as far as not. Only one thing I like about Paris is some sort of impact related to beloved one, the only thing I enjoy about. My dream always was to see east, and partialy it happened in Hong Kong. Today we went to buy me a new suit. First what impressed me, alot of trash like rags. Litteraly! In Ukraine such stuff worth nothing and I never buy it, because I can get very good clothes almost for free, but here even for some junk one must pay alot. Perhaps nothing cheaper that $300 wasn't worthy, but ofter hours of roaming my imagination created some decent combination for very modest price, only $150 for jacket, shirt and jeans. Interesting would you like my choice. I will show you later how it looks alike. However I found decent shoes to accomplish mentioned suit but there was no my size. Whatever... I'm not a shoping person and very careful with my spendings. Father also had a wish to buy me a phone, for instance IPhone 14 Pro, but I compared all pros and cons and Pixel 6A won, because only thing I'm interested in is filming and pictures. I count it pointless to over pay for nothing. I'm not a celebrity after all ㅋㅋㅋ. Soon I will share with you pictes of a bit better quality. 

Feelings about U.S. (hm, about us?) Even first day feels totaly different. From food to the way everything moves around. When you watch the movies it makes some feeling about it and so it is for real. People here fat, not fat body, but fat life, oversized. You don't need that much but you do because you can.
