I have this little idea in my head that I plan to do in my profile I voted to choose the character, Well the thing is once I finished everything I would upload it to Tumblr my doubt was that I have planned to do something "complex" but then I thought if I upload it but it turns out to be something horrible something of lousy quality if better something simple, everyone would be constant.

The truth was I was going to cancel everything but I told myself that I should try it even if it is this time

Do you think I should do what I want or should I do something simpler just because others tell me?

In my opinion, I’d just upload it and see how it’s turned out. You did spent your time doing that so might as well just upload it and if there’s a mistake or it’s not the way you like it, you can just delete it, and make a new one. If this was me, I would create two of them so if one doesn’t go how I like it, I could just delete that one, and post the other one that I normally would post.

I’m not sure if this is helpful, but I would just create two of them! The “complex” one & the normal one! So, you have a backup if the “complex” one didn’t work out! 💁‍♀️✨

I try to explore new things on tumblr, if it doesn’t go how I like it, I would just delete it! 🤷‍♀️

last song: when i opened the tag, 'alien blues' by vundabar but currently i'm listening to hozier 'would that i'. as of finishing writing this, radiohead. there you have it.

favourite colour: a deep cherry red. the kind that would make a really lovely lipstick gloss.

last movie/tv show: i'm terrible with shows and movies, but i was watching the bowie doco (moonage daydream) the other day, keeping on brand ik. i also love british comedians so 'would i lie to you?' is probably up there as well.

current obsession: concerts! this is a long-standing love but it is very evident lately. the way concerts down here work is that no one comes for years bc of the trek to aus, and then randomly there's this one month period where everybody is here at once and suddenly i have to choose between favs. that has been this month! hard on the bank account but my soul is thriving with a concert every other week. saw noah kahan, it was life-altering.

last book: i'm between the '50 yrs of led zeppelin' biography by mick wall, and 'anna karenina' by tolstoy atm. (adding it) last fic: blends by rvltn909. finished it yesterday and oh my god. the crime that was me putting it off.

Hello! Long time no see, guys. The queue might be running, but I shine thanks to my absence. But here I am, once again :'v

Thing is, I had a very rough end and beginning of year. Some of the highlights of these past weeks are:

My dog died

My other dog was poisoned. He later died, too :)

My cellphone got a fatal error and then- kaput (DON'T BUY THE POCO M3 I'M BEGGING YOU)

I lost super important data of my work.

All my family got covid EXCEPT me, my parents, grandpas and brother (they are all fine, so no worries!)

I've been waiting for a payment from France for over a month by now :')

I fell from a bus. A moving bus.

Yes, I'm that clumsy.

Yes, half my body hurts.

I returned to work

Hopefully, I'll get hired in a new job (same museum, dif. department) but the paperwork was tremendous. Wish me luck!

I got food poisoning.

My internet said NOPE and the service was reinstalled yesterday

So... yeah. It hasn't been ALL bad- some good things happened, too! (We have baby goats :D) but my energy level is -1231234 at this point. I started to feel overwhelmed, so I guess it's time to step back a little and fix my mess xD

I've been intending to update the chrono links in the posts for a while now, have time to catch up with your stories (I've seen bits here and there but I'm missing a lot of stuff ;A;) and prepare the story posts calmly. Maybe I'll try a mini-challenge for a change. Who knows? Either way, the stories will be on hold for a couple of weeks, but I'll be around! That's the whole purpose, in the end. I really want to read a lot of stuff!

Ok, so what I wanted to request! I love your blog. You’re really kind and genuine, and I’ve found some great fics to light up my day from here. But sometimes, the posts are suuupppeeerr long, and I may not be looking for this info exactly? Like it clogs up a lot of my dash. So I wanted to request if you could use a “read more” feature after a brief, at least for the fic rec posts.

Hey Nonny!

Ahh, okay, you’re not going to like what I am going to say, but you are very respectful and were smart and sandwiched your issue in compliments, so Ahhhh, I feel conflicted now.

With all due respect Nonny, this is my blog and I get more engagement on my lists if people can see the full list; many people prefer it that way, and honestly I get crapped on either way, so I’ve made the executive decision to not cut my posts. The only time I do is on “second” reblog on super long LONG lists so that I have a “cut” and “uncut” version of the post, but even those I’ve been reducing. 

I’ve tried both ways, and full posts get better notice. All I want to do is share my love of fics and content with y’all, and the best way to do that is to just have it all there so people know what they’re getting. 

Plus, am I to just “readmore” every single reply on my posts? A lot of the reason my blog has stayed as long as it has is because I’ve always been a very interactive blog. People LIKE seeing their replies added to a comment thread on my post, and it helps smaller blogs get noticed. It’s not much on the surface, but I’ve had smaller blogs come to me DELIGHTED that their name is now attached to one of my posts that are going through a “popular reblog cycle” (that is, a post that is being interacted with for a good few days before I actually finally add it to the month-reblog queue). It helps create a sense of community, I feel, and that’s one of the things I am very honoured to be: a starting place for community.

And this is just in a general sense and NOT directed at you, more at the people who shit on me in the notes of my long posts, but I don’t GET people getting upset about my TEXT BASED POST WITH NO IMAGES IN IT, but not on any of the image or playlist posts I reblog, which take FOREVER to load on mobile. I GENUINELY don’t get it. I don’t even use the app on my phone, I’m logged into the browser on my phone, because the app is garbage. 

The problem is the app, in my opinion. That’s the gist of it. It loads slow, it scrolls terribly, and the UI is annoying, but instead app users blame the bloggers and not the fact that Tumblr staff ignore every suggestion we make. And because more of the newer people use their mobiles these days, us old-time Tumblr users are expected to microblog like the shitty sites that are Twitter or Facebook. Tumblr is a blogging platform, like LiveJournal, laid out all nicely and clean and honestly, (the royal you) you’re getting exactly what you signed up for: long posts, opinions, and interaction. If one wants shitty layouts, shitty comment threads you can’t follow and reactionaries, go to Twitter. Call me a boomer, whatever, I just find Tumblr so much more appealing now more than ever. 

Sorry, I’ve needed to get this off my chest for awhile now. I don’t know. Maybe I’m being pedantic. I don’t care, really. My thoughts on this: if (the royal) you don’t like the content, or find stuff annoying, don’t follow me.

Because you know what a lot of my longest posts are? Helpline numbers at the bottom of posts. Useful links. And just stuff that make people happy. People in despair are not going to click on a read more of a post. People who want links to resources aren’t going to click on a read more. People who just want happiness after a stressful day are literally just scrolling to smile, and they ain’t gonna click a read more.

YES, there are reasons read mores are good, absolutely. I just PERSONALLY don’t like them because I like engagement. I don’t get much of it anymore on my posts, EXCEPT the fic rec posts, and THOSE work better as a full view.

BUT NONNY PLEASE KNOW I AM NOT UPSET AT ALL WITH YOU, and you’ve given me a great opportunity to discuss this thing that I’ve put off for awhile because the other people were less-than-kind, and it only made me NOT address it out of simple spite because I’m nothing if not a passive aggressive old lady. 

So, here are a few ideas you can implement:

If you like my posts but not the longest ones, I always tag them “long post”. Tumblr finally has its own tag blocking feature, so just block “long post”. All of my very long lists will be blocked, and you can decide if you want to click on them based on what the additional tags are. I try my best to tag all my lists appropriately.

Similarly, you can “tag block” my username, and only click on the posts you like the tags for.

DON’T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY, PLEASE, this isn’t a “so there!” comment, I promise!!: You can unfollow me if you’re only following me for the fic lists, and instead follow me on Twitter at @inevitablyjohn1, which is used only to promote my new lists and art. Every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday I post up the Wednesday Reblog, Five Fics Friday, Fic Rec Roundup, and Fic Rec Sunday, with a link to each post :) Then you’ll get all the lovely full lists I post 4 times a week. OF COURSE, this is the option I don’t want to happen, because I love all my lovelies and you’ll miss out on the random fics, insightful asks, and suggestions I get throughout the week, BUT I want you to enjoy your time on Tumblr, and if my blog is causing you stress, it’s the last thing I want to happen. Tell me about ur June mortuus au friend

I tried writing out a whole thing for this but it became really long and wordy so then I made it into bullets and its still,, really long,,, sorry. Putting it under a read more since its kinda long:

June is no longer a courier, and is instead on her way to Vegas after receiving some news about her brother who she hasn’t seen in years. Along the way she picks up the companions, who are all too concerned to let this teenager run around the wasteland.

Mortuus is still the infamous Courier Six, still gets shot, and still loses most of her memories. The beginning of this AU sticks to her canon pretty closely.

Things start to get more interesting once they’ve both reached Vegas (not together) and their loyalties to certain factions become more obvious (June with Yes-man/NCR and Mortuus with the Legion). They’re both sent on missions that pit them against each other: Mortuus is sent to help bomb the monorail, June is hired to stop it; June offers to help out with Camp Forlorn hope, Mortuus is sent to assist in the Legion’s attacks, and so on

At some point they begin to recognize each other and have those “oh its just you” moments

Their dynamic is pretty friendly for a while, where they sometimes hold back on each other and even make sure the other isn’t dead. The only reason they’re fighting against each other being their loyalties. But at some point Caesar really rattles Mortuus and because of it she nearly kills Boone. June has to save him, and despite her willingness to talk Mortuus starts refusing any interaction; fearing Caesar will see her as weak.

On bit of a darker note, Caesar is much more manipulative and abusive to Mortuus throughout the canon timeline. He’s constantly threatening her, doubting her abilities to her face and making sure she has no sense of self-value. It drives her to do horrible things to try and prove her worth

Things are pretty quite up until Hoover Dam, where despite June’s best efforts, the Legion wins. Everyone's silent, only speaking through nods as they all realize they have to run. June, who went through all this in hopes of finding her brother, refuses to run away and convinces the companions to help her sneak into the Fort to find him

Meanwhile, Caesar deems Mortuus as weak. She’s helped him thus far, but she’s a loose canon, and would cost him more than he’s willing to pay. He has her beaten in the arena in front of the entirety of the Legion camp while he does his dictator rant about loyalty and strengths. Mortuus watches everything she’s built up to defend herself crumble down around her and eventually she just lets herself cave in. Caesar leaves her to bleed out in the arena after she blacks out

June and co sneaks into the Fort to find her brother while everyone is distracted and discovers he’s become a high-ranked Legion solider. She begs him to run away with her but he refuses and it breaks her. On their way out, June realizes what's become of Mortuus, and insists on bringing her back with them.

Mortuus wakes up in bed a week after, cramped in a bunker with the rest of the gang while they hide from Legion forces. She barely says a word, only speaking to June and Arcade on occasion since he watches after her.

Once she heals Mortuus insists on leaving, but June convinces her to stay. After a tough week of bonding and fighting, they all agree to work together try and take out Caesar

And the rest is still undecided :D Mortuus and June have some moments, things like June helping Mortuus get glasses and Mortuus teaching June how to properly fight. These bullets are just the build up to main story but I still wanna put it out there. Once I get it more organized I’ll post the second half. Most Popular One Shot (by kudos) this year:  Not surprised to find it’s the fluffy and indulgent Shadowgast fic, Creature Comforts.  With the year we’ve had, I’ve gone back to comfort-read it myself a few times!

Most Popular One Shot (by kudos) overall: Still Creature Comforts.  It’s easily eclipsed all my older Flash works (which had a smaller, if no less beloved audience) and remains the most popular CR fic as well.

Most Popular Multi-Chapter (by kudos) this year:  Technically it’s my only multi-chapter, but - The Devil You Know, a Harrisco & Supernatural fusion.  The remaining WIP is largely complete with one major overhaul to do, though it seems far away now that I’ve shifted so much to Critical Role.  Maybe I’ll crack my knuckles and finish it one day... but regardless, at the time it taught me a lot about writing a story longer than little 3-5k bites.  (Also, I was genuinely surprised to find I only posted it in Feb 2020 - that feels like legit a century ago! Pandemic, man.) 

Most Popular Multi-Chapter (by kudos) overall:  Same as above!  The only one is, by default, the winner.

Favourite story you’ve written so far: Hands-down, it’s gotta be the delicate thing you prize so much, an Essek-centric Shadowgast.  It got sparked by a random lore post on tumblr pointing out that drow can sleep, and therefore it’s totally possible for Essek to be taking depression naps while missing his new friends.  I thought... hm, yes, and I wonder what Kryn sensibilities would have to say about that?  Time to tuck into some angst.  I really enjoyed diving into Essek’s backstory, doing worldbuilding, and thinking hard about what might have shaped him into the character we meet in canon.  

Fic you were nervous to post:  Probably tumblr snippets late in 2018 for The Flash, not because of any particular content, but because it was the first time I’d publicly posted anything since I was a wee tween with Lj/ffnet aspirations, oh, nearly two decades ago.  I also had a little trepidation about I miss a feeling (that I've never had before), since it was my first foray into Critical Role and a large fandom still in its heyday.  

How do you choose your titles?:  I usually either make up titles from scratch by tossing around word spaghetti (with an unapologetic predilection for punnery), or choose a compelling line or phrase quoted from a poem (always cited in the notes at the end of the fic).

Do you outline?: These days, yes, if the work is anything longer than a few thousand words.  But in the words of Captain Barbossa... they’re more like guidelines than actual rules.

Complete: 20 fics on Ao3, and a few snippets on Tumblr that were too small to make the jump or I otherwise neglected to transfer.

In-Progress: Oh gosh... uh... *shoves stack of WIPs and outlines out of sight that have definitely gone stale but I refuse to let go of* let’s say... three?  That I’m actively - if perhaps not frequently - working on.  I’ve got 1) an as-of-yet amorphous Shadowgast that I’ve decided to sit on until we get more info from the imminent canon reunion, 2) a canon divergence Widomauk arranged marriage AU, and 3) a Gen (probably) Marion & Yussa fic that is relaxing to work on because I’m not constantly stumbling over new canon each week.

Coming soon/not yet started:  Nothing well-formed enough to mention.  I’ve got tidbits and ideas percolating but many of them are waiting for a larger story to be part of.  

Prompts?: Sometimes!  I don’t generally do them ad hoc, but when I see a good prompt meme I’ll usually reblog it. Prompts are fun for warm-ups, breaks from longer WIPs, and writing bite sized snacks (or snacks that unexpectedly balloon into 13k oneshots, right @the-kaedageist? lolol)

what goes on at wingkkun’s: a blog update

Creating a few cards for a friend.

Greetings all. Been a while since I posted something. Been getting my grove back with my hobbies. Namely, I’ve been painting some miniatures. My other passion, is game design. Recently (ok...a few weeks ago. But time is an illusion and well...have you seen the world?) my friend @suppuration​ posted about what colors of magic he is, and found themselves in a bit of a divide. So, I decided to create a few cards for them, based on what they think. Unfortunately, my energy levels are low, so I could only create a few.  Gonna delve below, why I made some choices. 

This is version 3 of the Sultai Walker version of my fren. Trying to design walkers is hard. Three mana seems to be the new hype, four was a perfect balance, but I think there’s a lot to do with five mana walkers. Plus 5 is just a good number. Look at it, it’s flat, yet curved. Kinda like a snake!  Ok, so three loyalty. Aside from balancing, @suppuration​ and I have something similar; low energy levels. So He’ll stick around, but do make sure to bring food. Our +1 has an additional cost of discarding a card. That ties into the energy levels. We get a Blue Green Plant token. Fun fact, under an old about me they had He had “House planet, please water”. That always stuck with me, so plants became a main stay.  Our plant friend also gives us a life and draws us a card. More so I wanted a token that represented food, without doing a food token. Plus, you harmed the planet...fuck you. The second ability ties into the first. One of my personal favorite cards is Villainous Wealth. This doesn’t provide the bonus of playing the cards, but when you’re exhausted. It is nice to have an even playing ground.  The ultimate ties in a few things Damnation, Windfall, and Graveyard love. It takes time, after all our friend is here to help us, so we want to give them support as they do something cool. I found it to be balanced at -12. Anything less feels too strong. Especially with things like proliferate, and Doubling season. I originally played around with more plant themes for this, but they felt rather under powered. If I were to revisit this, I’d ask them exactly what a final attack would look like. If you’re wondering why Macabre. We both like the band Ghost...which has that feel....which I was blasting when making these cards.  

Next up, is Wort, a Fursona of our friend. Decided to make this darling Rabbit Slug a Legendary creature. For EDH purposes. Skulk is an under-developed mechanic that was discarded after the last visit of Innistrad. I feel like a Slug-Ooze peep would be able to get through the armies quite well.  The first ability feels like what Oozes/ Slugs in fantasy should do. That’s eat away armor. Why they don’t do something like that in Magic has always bothered me. It also is a non-combo with Skulk, but sometimes it’s nice to have a friend slap a peep. Stunning them long-enough for the win. The last, is an Ultimate. One of the originals I had for the first Planeswalker...which couldn’t fit on the card. I really liked it. It’s Yawg’s Will, costs some life, and is harder to cast. So it’s fair!

Lastly, we have the Legendary Spell for our Walker Friend! I really love the flavor of Legendary Spells. While they weren’t the best created in Dominaria, I feel like they could return, with some awesome effects. Tying into the Plant theme of our +1, we get some more good plant boi’s.  The added Loss of life and Mill effects tie to the Ult. Also, this is a X Spells, and those deserve big pay offs. I was making this card as Suppuration posted a few things about dealing with the Retail worker life.

I have a Mardu one on the side, another aspect of my friend. Currently I’m trying to finish up the Walker. That I’ll be posting later. I hope I did these justice. How to Start Writing

A lot of questions I’ve gotten over the past few years have been to do with actually starting to write, putting those first words down. Sometimes it’s people who used to write and are daunted by the task of getting back into it, other times it’s brand new writers, just tiny word-gremlins brimming with untapped inspiration, lacking the cynicism induced by years.. decades of having your life ruled by imaginary creatures.

At the end of the day, the only tried and tested tip for starting to write is WRITE, but I will try to provide you with a few others for the sake of appearances.

1. Start Small.

Maybe you’re incredibly imaginative and you have this entire fantasy series in your head just ready to be put on paper, but... try not to rush into it. When I started writing first, every idea I had was for a novel, but I didn’t actually have the skills (and still don't) to complete a novel, so this led to a string of failed projects, which is not good for the delicate soul of a tiny word-gremlin.

If you do have a big idea you love, I would suggest writing smaller stories, with simpler plots, based in that universe - for example, you could use a prompt list/generator (Google them, they’re everywhere) and adapt those prompts to your universe. If your story is some epic sci-fi horror series and the prompts are about funfair dates, it could make for quite an interesting time. These exercises will allow you to work on your characters and your world, while giving you time to build the skills you need to one day develop the story into something bigger.

If you want to work on fan-fiction specifically, fluffy drabbles are your friend. You can start NSFW if you really want to, but I don’t advise it. Some people find smut comes easiest to them, but for me - and most writers I know - sex is one of the hardest things to write. Again, you can try prompt generators (like this OTP one here) or check places like Twitter for AU ideas - although, if you’re planning to post/share your story, do not use other people’s AU ideas without their permission!

2. Read! Watch! Consume!

Consuming other media is literally one the most important things for writers and new writers in particular. Watching/reading casually is a great way to spark some inspiration, but if you find something you really love, something that makes you think I wish I wrote this, then I suggest going over it again with a more critical eye. Focus on the character development, the plot, the aesthetics - try to pinpoint the aspects of it that really make it resonate with you. Low-stress exercises like this will also help you learn more about storytelling in general without actually putting much effort in, so it’s win-win.

3. Adjust Your Expectations.

Understand that creative writing, especially on the scale of a novel, is a skill which needs to be developed. Just because you got good grades in English class does not automatically mean you’re going to be an excellent writer, and just because you’re not an excellent writer now doesn’t mean you never will be. No one picks up a paintbrush for the first time and expects to create a masterpiece. Artists of all sorts work hard for years to hone their craft and develop their style, and writers are no exception to this. You will not be good overnight and half the stuff you write in your first year, you probably won’t be able to read by next year because it will make you cringe so hard - but that’s not a bad thing! This means you’ve improved so much that even you can see it and getting a writer to acknowledge their own growth is no simple feat.

4. PRACTICE, but maybe not too hard?

There’s no such thing as I can’t write, or I can’t draw, or I can’t ride a bike. You can - with practice. You should know what your goals are with your writing and adjust your practice based on this. Do you just wanna spend one or two evenings a week writing about your OTP/OCs on cute dates? That’s fine, work at your own pace, and don’t force yourself to write if you’re not feeling it. Are you angling for a six-figure book deal? Then you write till your eyes bleed, my fren, you write till your bones are empty and your laptop keyboard is talking back to you.

That said, you do need to know when to stop. Creative burnout (which is a big cause of writer’s block) is real and it is horrible. Practice isn’t always a blast, but it should never be torture. Maybe you need that six-figure book deal more than you need life itself (big mood), but you also need to sleep, friend, you also need to do some things that aren’t writing or you will lose your goddamn mind.

5. Bonus: Write Because You Want to Write.

I’ve used the artist/drawing analogy several times because over the years in fandom, I’ve seen quite a few people start writing simply because they ‘can’t draw’ and writing seems like a good alternative. While I don’t enjoy the common misconception that being a good writer is easier than being a good artist, I’m not saying those people are wrong. Everyone should dabble in the arts and see what their creative side has to offer - this might be how you find your true calling and that’s wonderful. Just understand that while writing comes a little easier to some, it’s not easy for anyone. There is a huge pressure in certain fandoms to create in order to feel included, so just make sure that you’re having fun with what you’re doing and not simply succumbing to that pressure.

A Final Note:

I’m not trying to shit on artists with all these analogies, I swear, I worship them as gods. Each artistic craft has its own skill-set and they can’t be fairly compared, but people to tend to understand how difficult drawing/painting is because we’ve all been forced to attempt it at one time or another; however, people rarely grasp just how difficult it can be to write a good story because they got A’s on their ‘My Summer Holidays’ essays in primary school. So, one last thing to keep in mind is this: artists have an abundance of tools and mediums at their disposal, and they can try their hand at each until they find one that suits them; writers only have words and must build worlds with them.

one :  picture a little girl with bright blue eyes, pigtails bouncing with every step she takes as a grin makes its way upon her face . she seems happy ---- and in the moment she truly is, despite the fact that the people she needs the most, her parents, are a few thousand miles away and aren’t here to see olympia say her first words or take her first step. she is too young to understand --- honestly, too young to even think about the reasons why they left her.

two :  she is a little bit older now, a full-on eleven years old --- taller, thinner and, most importantly, rowdier. she has quite a few friends, although they all seem to be having picnics with their barbie dolls and sleepovers dedicated to watching princess movies whereas olympia wants to run around and jump all over the place. the girls just don’t seem to match her energy, the boys aren’t exactly welcoming towards her, having this stupid, “ew, but you’re a girl!” mindset. she just wants to find something for herself, something that will keep her interested for longer than three hours ---- that something turned out to be diving.

three :  it’s a few years later, and now she’s standing at the 10m platform. it’s her last dive, and she needs to get it exactly right to win the gold medal. olympia would honestly be lying if she said her legs weren’t shaking because of how nervous she was --- but there’s a camera right in front of her face, therefore she has to keep it together. she turns around, takes one last breath, and then she’s up in the air. fifteen seconds later she’s fully submerged into water ----- and fifteen minutes later she has tears coming out of her eyes. she did it. she’s the world champion now.

four : it’s exactly a year later, and a lot has changed. olympia finds herself in the sunny city of rio de janeiro where she’s come to compete in her first olympic games --- which is exactly what she’s always been meant to do, judging by the name her parents gave her. except this time she’s nervous for an entirely different reason --- she’s now a successful athlete, this season’s leader and the one to watch out for. she’s the reigning world champion, for god’s sake, so she has to prove every single person out there she didn’t win on an accident. a lot of things seem to be going wrong; from oly flubbing her first dive to her coach coming up to her before her final one to say that her parents have showed up at the arena. eventually she finds herself in the same exact position as she did back in Russia ---- her palms are sweating, her legs are shaking, but there’s no turning back. the only way is down, so she has to dive one way or another. a jump, two somersaults, a twist ----- she’s back in the pool, and as she immediately drowns in the roar coming from the audience, tears start coming out of her eyes. she did it again. she’s lived up to her name.

five :  ever since she got back home, her life has completely changed. interview after interview, a campaign after a photoshoot, an event after the other ---- all of that mixed in with her training routine has it ups and downs. her schedule keeps her busy yet there’s something missing. she’s looking everywhere in the hopes of finding that missing piece, and at some point she feels like she’s found it in the face of a stranger who ends up in her bed that night. it brings her a sense of serenity, that lasts a few weeks ---- but olympia knows it’s all too good to be true, and it’s proven to be that way as she stumbles upon a certain page on a random night. it doesn’t seem real at first, but when she spots a tattoo on the girl’s ribcage, a realization hits her ---- she’s plastered all over porn sites, and that particular video featuring her has generated a few million views in a span of two months. she doesn’t remember the night at first due to her drunken state, but she recognizes her bedroom, particularly a personalized louis vuitton gym bag sitting in the corner. details like that help her piece the night together, and from that point on there’s nothing but fear of it all coming out and ruining her career.

oly was born in chicago but grew up and spent most of her time in toronto with her grandmother, since her parents were setting up their business overseas. they were coming by to visit her maybe once or twice a year, so she isn’t as close with them.

she is a competitive diver (a quite decorated one bc .... why wouldn’t she be 🥺🥺🥺)  representing canada bc of her upbringing despite the fact that she now lives in new york (she moved here in 2017, after the rio olympics)

astrology wise, she is a gemini sun cancer rising .... so sorry to all of u for this

her placements mean that she is quite creative, capricious and may appear manic sometimes --- but really she is just downright STUPID bc she is always trying to get her ass into trouble. like, you can’t even imagine how many times her coach had to drag her out of the mess she got herself into ... 

she is very much about having sympathy for others and helping them and whatnot, but unbeknownst to her, these tendencies can be explained by the “keep your friends close and your enemies closer” mindset. she has to keep her act straight, so getting onto someone’s bad side isn’t in the cards for her --- god knows what kind of shit she may end up in now that she’s a part of ... this world of glamour and fame, u kno?

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐃 / close friends --- everybody needs some sort of a support system in their life, and oly is no exception to this rule. she’s never really had a big family, therefore she’s always surrounded herself with people in the hopes of filling the empty space in her heart. and honestly, if it wasn’t for these people, she would’ve quit diving right after winning the olympics, moved to the suburbs of toronto and just lived a quiet life --- but the pride for her friends just gives her enough motivation to move further and become better.

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐌𝐄 / best friend --- we all have that someone who’s impossibly close to us; who we cannot imagine our lives without. the bond is so crucial to them both parties that it feels as if there’s never been a moment without each other. the general public and tabloids, though, feel as if there’s more going on and will not stop nagging them about the details.

I just wanted to drop a personal update, mostly cuz I have stuff I need to write out. It's not happy stuff so TW for mental illness discussion.

Anyhoo, I wanted to let y'all know I am still really wanting to start my NSFW blog eventually, but I'm struggling a whole lot lately for tons of different reasons. Daddy working two jobs means I hardly get to see him. Plus I have to be home alone a lot and that's real bad for my anxiety. Especially cuz my neighbors are loud as hell and I have hyper vigilance or w/e it's called where I jump at every sound cuz of my PTSD. We're also barely making enough money to get by and that's obvs v stressful too. I work a bit online doing data entry type stuff when I feel I can, but it doesn't pay well. Daddy says it's enough but I always doubt that.

On top of all that, we don't have time to do much of anything fun. We haven't gotten a chance to go out and meet anybody, although Daddy has been getting along well with a few of his coworkers. So that's a plus.

Both of our depression is in full swing tho. Neither of us ever have energy, we rarely clean (Daddy has actually been doing most of the chores lately which makes me feel worse cuz he already works so hard for us), we don't have much money for groceries, and we're still trying to settle bills from our old apartment.

I'm also really down about my old friends. I'm still in contact with a couple of them, but they are always busy (which I fully understand) so it's hard to have a solid convo anymore. The worst part tho, is that my bestie of the past 2 years, who I met on tumblr back when I had a more personal one, has blocked me on social media. We used to talk all day every day. He was always there for me during my dark times (all the time) and I tried to be supportive of him as well, even tho he wasn't really the type to open up much. Then he got a new job he couldn't be on his phone while doing, which was fine. We talked all other hours of the day. Then he moved a couple times, each move meaning he'd talk to me less and less. Eventually he was only responding to my texts every few days, then once a week or so, and eventually not at all. It was New Years Day that I realized he had blocked me and I'm still really hurt over it. I know it wasn't totally my fault, or his for that matter since I was honestly being a passive aggressive vaguester about it online, but it still really sucks. My heart hurts when I think about him and how much I miss him.

So now I'm stuck at home alone most days and evenings, jumping at all the loudness of this place, feeling like the people I care about most are leaving me behind. I can't get out of my head and focus on doing better. The most I can do is get out of bed and change clothes every day. Which is better than I've been at my lowest, but of course my brain says I'm never doing enough. Having real weed has stopped my flashback nightmares, but now my dreams are always involving random people from my past. And I'm not a fan of that so it's annoying to say the least.

So yeah, I wanted y'all to be clued in to why my other blog is still on hold for now. Also please don't worry if I randomly don't post anything for awhile. It's just cuz sometimes I don't feel like logging on for some time. Doesn't mean I've done anything to myself! I couldn't do that to Daddy.

Send good vibes or whatevs if you want. Daddy and I could sure use them.

Heavy post...*waves to frens*

Warning: Long post... but not putting it under a cut because I specifically want new followers to read this. Mutuals and long time followers? Nothing new here, feel free to hit that page down button a few times XD

So, over the last few weeks, I’ve gained a lot of new followers... and lost some too. Now of course, I generally don’t worry too much about it (or try not to). I know some folk unfollow maybe because it’s been a while and their interests have changed, or maybe in some cases they were dealing with some frustrating things that I happen to be also talking about at the time and so they wanted to get away from it all for a while and it wasn’t really a personal thing. No judgement on that stuffs...

But, I do want to make some things clear for those that have recently followed me and might have followed just because of a cute image or two I made for magic stuffs with the new set dropping:

First: I am a trans woman. I support the full LGBTAQ+ spectrum. Yes, this includes Non-binary, Asexual, Aromantic, and all. I’m not going to argue with folks on the inclusion. It’s just that way. Oh yeah, and Bisexual, both being and supporting. This means even when a couple is not with who you think they should be with (a straight person seeing a ‘bi’ with the same or gay seeing ‘bi’ with different, you know that whole thing... no matter who a bisexual person is with, they are still bi)

Second: I’m anti-capitalist. Yes, I live in a capitalist world, and have to abide by the current machinations of it. I mean, consider things like Patreon, Go Fund Me, and the like. Those are not ‘capitalist’ (though can and have been used in that way), but are a way a community can help creators make a living without having to worry about making every product ‘marketable’. (which is why I’m against the recent shift that Patreon is doing for it’s creators, but that is a whole other post).

Third: I am a supporter of things like Black Lives Matter and other inter-sectional things. Look, the same sort of oppressive arguments, and often even the same people, are used against both people within the LGBTQA+ community AND people of color. It just makes sense to back them up as much as my fellow lgbt friends.

Fourth: Which leads me to being Feminist. 3rd wave specifically. Yes, there are crap folk that claim to be feminist, but that is the case with any group. I mean there are lesbians that are against trans woman, soo... Anyhoo, the bottom line of 3rd wave Feminism is inter-sectional support. Women, LGBT folk, People of Color, and everything like that. And before you go ‘but what about white males?’, consider that that is who holds the power right now. Well, White, Male, and Rich. But many of the things that real feminism fights for also covers things that would help out men as well. Things like better therapy and psychological help. The idea of ‘toxic masculinity’ isn’t the idea that ‘masculinity is toxic’, but that there are ways that being a ‘guy’ has been pushed that are toxic in nature, both a danger for others as well as the men themselves. Remember the idea of ‘real men don’t cry’? That’s toxic. It teaches men that being sad isn’t a manly thing, but to express anger is okay. Which is why we get a lot of these shooters doing what they do.

Fifth: I’m... I guess I’m agnostic? I used to be christian, but I have found that some threads within that faith are... problematic lets say. But I find ANY system of belief (or non-belief in the case of Atheism or however you want to define it) has fringe folks that are... problematic as it were. I judge less on religious affiliation and more on how that religious faith is expressed. I would have more to say on that, but really that is the bottom line. If your faith is more about proving others wrong/judging others over just living the best life you can and helping others, then your faith is garbage. end of story. Don’t matter which god, gods, or even no gods at all you follow.

Sixth: I tend to be a bit of a critic about things. Sometimes I blow things out of proportion, sometimes I don’t go quite far enough. But in the end, I try to be as honest as I can and as clear as my rambly nature lets me. Though, as I always emphasize, I never mean to judge a person on their love of a thing. There are rare exceptions of course. Like, I will judge you if you love “Birth of a Nation” or “Triumph of the Will’ as they are both KKK/Nazi movies and white supremacist in nature. There is nothing in either to be lauded save that they were likely the first movies in their era to pull together several film elements that had already existed (really they were more a triumph of budget then of talent). If you like Game of Thrones because of how ‘realistic’ it is to do -that- to so many women (you know what that is), then yes, I’m judging you. But If you like Game of thrones for all the other reasons -in spite- of -that-, then no judgement at all. Those moments shouldn’t be enjoyed. At best, they should effect you will a visceral disgust as the moments are intended.

I used to (and sometimes still do) reblog the heavier, more ‘polictical’ posts to my other blog @pepperolitics, but after the purge messed up my adult blog, it’s harder to bother with a side blog these days. So there are times where my more direct political aspect comes to play on main.

And really? That shouldn’t be that much an issue when you think about it.

I mean, I try to stay positive and light on my main blog. That usually means the heavy subjects get put to my other blogs. Adult subjects to my adult blog (which is now effectively gone even if I haven’t actually deleted it yet) and the POLITICS go to the political blog...

But that would be the seventh thing on the list of getting to know me:

NOTHING IS EVER NON-POLITICAL.

Nothing.

Now, I will say there is a difference between ‘political’ and ‘POLITICAL’, that is to say: we are human, the way we interact with each other is inherently political. How we agree, disagree, compromise on a day to day basis is political. Manners are political.

All ART is political.

But then there is the capital ‘P’ POLITICAL, where we are talking about government, the big policies, the big moments, the major events.

Where we switch from political to POLITICAL is when we go from things that are inherent, inferred, or basically subtext to straight up text and direct.

In otherwords: I refuse the idea that me suddenly talking about politics is me “becoming” political. I have always been political, we all are. it’s just sometimes, you have to make your politics clear.

Or in other other words: White, capitalist, hurrah! jingoist soilder of things like C.O.D/battlefield is just as POLITICAL as a Woman with a girlfriend and a trans side kick or something... it’s just we have been so surrounded by the former over the latter that we think of it as the accepted norm rather then one flavor of story hero among so many others...

...okay, I’m getting extra rambly and tangental... But that was kinda the point of this post.

Some of you will disagree with some of my points for one reason or another. Sometimes in shades, and sometimes in full... But my base point is, many of my long time followers already know this about me, but some of the new folk might not. And if you are going to stick around, this is the sort of lady you are following.
