A Van By Any Other Name

I take a lot of ribbing from my so-called friends. No, not for being vertically challenged. Not for having an ever-so-slightly receding hairline. And not for being a nerd.

It’s because for the last 30 years, my vehicle of choice has been, and will continue to be, a minivan. Yep, the ultimate soccer-mom ride is my go-to for taking me on my many adventures.

Chrysler introduced the first minivan in 1982, although some might argue quite convincingly that Volkwagen beat them to that conclusion in 1950 with their Bus. But then again, everything VW did was small, so that’s where the argument falls a little flat. They were quickly embraced by families as a people-mover, perfect for adults with young kids.

But through the years, most specifically the last decade or so, folks have been throwing shade on these great vehicles, sneeringly looking down their noses at what they deem to be a boring vehicle. I don’t care, because they are perfect for me, and not for the young-family reason: Name any other vehicle (aside from one of those tall Sprinters) in which I can roll in my bike without having to remove a wheel, stash several backpacks full of camera gear, throw in a suitcase or two, and still have room for the ephemera I buy along the way?

I’ll wait.

My first minivan was a ‘91 Dodge Grand Caravan, which we bought primarily to serve as a chase vehicle in our long-distance bicycle races. The crew could ride in comfort, we had a rack on top for wheels and spare bikes, and all of our supplies could fit in the back. I was sold and haven’t looked back since, and I’m on Grand Caravan #5 right now.

There aren’t many car makers producing minivans these days, because people fell in love with crossover SUVs instead, which have a lot less cargo and people room. And now comes news that Kia will discontinue its Sedona minivan and replace it with the Carnival, a MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) that for all intents and purposes is a minivan.

Go figure.

Kia is trying to dodge the stodgy image that minivans have had placed on them, but it appears to be just smoke and mirrors. It’s a minivan, and Shakespeare would have called it so much. Oh, and it looks to be a damn fine minivan, with all of the creature comforts we minivan owners have come to expect through the years, like stow-and-go seating.

So why Is Kia putting lipstick on this pig? Why don’t they just cater to a niche market, albeit one that appears to be shrinking, and do it proudly? Toyota and Honda are committed to their minivan models. As for Chrysler, rumor has it that the Grand Caravan will one day be killed, just like minivans offered by Ford and GM. This will leave the market for minivans to foreign manufacturers.

I rather like the looks of the new Carnival, and I couldn’t care less when they call it a MPV or whatever, as long as it can meet my needs. And had I not purchased a slightly-used 2019 Grand Caravan from Enterprise last year, I’d be taking a long, hard look at this one.

Because I don’t mind if people snicker. I’ve never been one to succumb to peer pressure. Just don’t make fun of my lack of hair. I can’t help it I inherited some bad genes.

Homicide isn't a common topic in Canada. In 2016 there was only a total of 611 victims.

So when in 2018 66 year old landscaper and part time mall Santa, Bruce McArthur was arrested for murder in connection to eight missing persons, the country was shocked.

The missing men were predominantly of East Asian and Middle Eastern origin and closeted homosexuals with little to no family in the city.

For 18 months police ran the Project Huston task force in regards to Skandaraj "Skanda" Navaratnam, who went missing from the Gay Village in Toronto. While police concluded Navaratnam more than likely he had been murdered, the investigation didn't turn up any true leads.

In June of 2013 missing persons Abdulbasir "Basir" Faizi and Majeed "Hamid" Kayhan were linked by location in which Navaratnam had been last seen, all were middle age, their race, and the fact they were closeted. It was also revealed later that Fazi and Navaratnam had exchanged messages with McArthur on a dating app.

Toronto Missing Rainbow Community was another task force started by the gay community. In 2017 Greg Downer, who's a moderator of the group, became aware friend and colleague Andrew Kinsman was missing. Kinsman was an openly gay white man who was very active in the gay community. But, because of his race, he didn't seem to fit the profile of the other victims.

Toronto Missing Rainbow Community included Kinsman in a flyer that was spread around the city and online that showed 12 missing men. However it was reported that five of the men were found and alive, one died by suicide, and several were not gay. Which left Kinsman, Navaratnam, Fazi, Kayhan, and the most recent victim Selim Esen. Residents of Toronto and others online believed there was a serial killer at large. The Toronto Police Service quickly dispelled those rumours. These comments later lead to outrage from the community.

Toronto Police Services were able to gain evidence quickly in the search for Kinsman due to the fact his friends reported him missing in the first 72 hours.

With a new victim and avaliabe resources a new task force, Project Prism, was able to conduct a search on Kinsmans home. "Bruce" was written on a calendar on the date he was last seen. Also CCTV showed Kinsman entering a 2004 Dodge Caravan. The vehicle was owned by Bruce McArthur. Warrants were obtained to look into accounts belonging to McArthur such as his Rogers phone service. By this time McArthur had sold his Dodge Caravan but it was tracked down and searched. Traces of blood were linked to Kinsman.

In early January 2018 Toronto police had round the clock surveillance on McArthur. During this time a man was observed entering McArthurs home. Police entered the home to find the man restrained to a bed but still alive.

McArthur was then apprehended.

In the following weeks cadavar dogs were then brought in to inspect several residences linked to McArthur through his landscaping business. Skeletal remains belonging to 6 different men were found buried in large planter boxes.

Bruce McArthur pled guilty and was sentenced to life imprisonment with no parole eligibility for 25 years on February 8, 2019 for the murders of Abdulbasir "Basir" Fazi, Skandaraj "Skanda" Navaratnam, Soroush Mahmudi, Majeed "Hamid" Kayhan, Kirushna Kumar Kanagaratnam, Dean Lisowick, Andrew Kinsman, and Selim Esen.

Judge McMahon described the crimes as "pure evil" and stated that McArthur showed "no evidence of remorse" and remarked McArthur "would have continued killing had he not been apprehended".

I just returned from socio-terrific doctor appointment in Medford, #SAGClubMed central HQ.

As usual, people were sneaking around my home yesterday and today.

I killed an intruder yesterday, who entered my home while I was in the restroom, The man had gone to my refrigerator, and was telling someone else about the contents of my refrigerator. The man had a sword, I took his sword from him, and ran him through with it, escorted him to the front door, and shoved him out of the door.

The door was locked with two locks and another safety device. The man was able to come inside even thought the door had two locks, and something extra.

I closed and locked the door again.

I believe the man's name was Robert, or, Rodger.

If his name was Robert, there is a good chance he was Rodger Hunter, a SDA terror solodier associated with a terror cell called “Medical Democrats”, and at the location 598 “MyStreet” is where he is specifically known to have lived for about 5 years. Rodger Hunter no longer lives at 598, some other Medical Democrats terror cell members live there now, Cynthia and Rick Manning.

The man could have been Manning. I don't know. I thought I already killed Rick manning when he attacked me with a Pit Bull by my mailbox a few months ago.

The receptionist at the terror doctor office asked about “Rod”. That could be Rodger, or Robert, she may have said “Rob”.

On the way to terror ClubMed doctor, the usual terror soldiers were deployed from the corner of Three Pines Road, and Oxyoke Road, where a group waits for instructions to just drive around, go in the direction they are told, make observation, and report what they observe at a given location as they pass by. About six of them today on Three Pines going towards Russel Road, they passed by me, as I was going towards Monument Drive.

That happens every time I leave the house.

I usually encounter the same cars that pass by often. I only leave my home two weeks apart, so, seeing the same cars is not a condition of daily routine, they wait for me to leave and make observation, so that others involved in assassination attempt can be ready, at the place they need to be.

The was moderate traffic on the way to Medford.

Observations include a big rig carrying three very large fans. Commercial size ventilation units. About six feet tall each one. That truck & trailer were going Northbound at about 1:15 pm.

Another observation was a mobile home, in two parts, wide-load, going Southbound, at about 1:20 pm. Those wide-load trucks were all over the road, swerving and changing lanes all over the place.

Other than that, at the Medford Exit at Crater Lake hwy, there is usually at least three people who sit at the corner, at the exit, and one on the overpass, and another near the other on-ramp.

They were not there today, they are ALWAYS there, but not today. There was others at the Biddel Road interchange corner. One man sitting and watching the traffic, a watchdog, and another two with bicycles walking their bicycles, and a woman with a baby carriage. I have seen those exact people at the exact places doing the exact same things dozens of times. One of the bicycles is very strange looking, is rusty, tall seat, small wheels, big frame. The woman with the bay carriage always stops walking, looks at me, and turns the baby carriage towards me, points at me, and tells the baby to look at me while I am waiting for the traffic light to change. I look at the bany, and the light changes, every time.

There were more people walking their bicycles. I saw about fifteen people with bicycles today, all were walking beside their bicycles except one. That one was a new, shiny, beach cruiser.

There was a toilet on the side of the road across the street from the terror doctor office.

I parked. I noticed a white van in the parking lot, it has been there for many months, maybe a year or more in the doctor parking lot. The hood is cracked open (“bee in your bonnet” SDA comm), the tags are 2018 ( State Police), the words “We went to Oregon” are written on the passenger window with white crayon (tourists died there), the front bumper is held on with bungee cords (Charlston Dodge Charger Crash at SAG terror demonstration connection terror advertisement) and there is a pamphlet about pianos (be quiet) on the dash board.

Inside the office was terror comm from the receptionist. She wanted me to be Robert or Rodger. I am not, so she advised others that Rod did not make it. I was given a paper that says prices are going up by $100 for lab work, that is more terror comm. I was asked if $1.03 means anything to me, when I said no, she charged me an extra $1.03.

There was more comm in the form of a nurse with an amputated arm. Also, when I go there, the people who come in are all fake patients, they are actors playing roles. They don't do health services there, it's a front. They are capable of pretending to do health service, but that is not what they do. There is always at least one man who comes in dressed in a suit without jacket, dress shoes and pants, white shirt, always. Nit the same guy always, but the same wardrobe always.

The fake patients are SDA soldiers. They come in pairs mostly. If not in a pair, the solo ones always have some kind of prop, apparatus, thing with them. A wheel chair or oxygen tank or crutches or some bullshit item. The ones that come in pairs, do not usually have the prop, apparatus thing.

At the fake doctor, the fake patients, and me, are given a pain management questionnaire to fill out. The fake SDA in pairs are almost amusing to observe when they fill out the forms. It's always the same thing,each pair of fake people do the exact same routine as the other ones do. They sit down, and one SDA plays the “caregiver” role, while the other one plays the “patient” role. The caregiver asks the patient the questions in the forms. There are two forms, each one has eight pages.

The whole thing is so when real patients come in there, they will be distracted and concentrating on that form, not paying attention to the terror soldier with a sword and nitrous gas that is sneaking up behind them. So, those pairs of fake patients can be identified by the way two people sit down, and one asks the other the questions on the form. If you pay attention to what is happening, it's easy to see that it's all fake, they have been reading those same questions for years, and are only releasing nitrous gas while saying their lines, and waiting for opportunity to strike.

The fake doctor, Paul Leppert, always tells me a story about his time n Vietnam, or Korean war. Always. He never ever talks about my health conditions. He keeps saying I need to get a primary doctor, he is a specialist and I need a Primary Care Physician (PCP, Angel Dust). I always tell him there are no doctors. He always tell me I NEED to go to La Clinica.

If he wants me to go to La Clinica, that's how I know it's a bad Idea to go to La Clinica.

DONT GO TO LA CLINICA!

No one tried to kill me inside the office this visit.

On the way home, I saw the same things I usually see. A tow truck with a grey SUV on it parked in the right hand lane in front of the shopping center (where there is a Denny's restaurant sort of hidden, with only a very small sign, and part of a motel that I don't know what the name is.) and a Medford Police SUV. The Towing is “Dick's Towing” (dick's in the road).

On the freeway, not much to say other than a lot of bright red big-rig trucks with white trailers.

One white van caught my eye, a Caravan sized van, bright white, rear window whited out with vinyl, and the words “Arnold's Dental, equipment sales”, California license plate.

Someone from Dietrick's 601 came down “MyStreet”, and did a head on collision attempt, the swerved.

Lot's of watchdog terror soldier in vehicles.

All of this is valuable information to people who need it.

I'm hell on car batteries and I don't know why.

I had a Dodge Omni from 1987-1990, never needed a new battery. Granted, every week I had to unscrew the caps and add a little denatured water, but the battery lasted.

From 1990-1993 I drove a Dodge Aries, never changed the battery once.

I rolled the Dodge Shadow in a single car crash on a rural mid-PA hillside in 1993, no data.

Drove a Dodge Charger from 1993-1995, battery was fine while we had it. The ex wrecked it on an icy road.

The Chrysler LeBaron didn't need a new battery while I had ot briefly in 1995-1996, but left it with my little brother in PA when I went to El Paso.

Had the Chevy Cavalier from 1996-2002. Drove it in El Paso and around Frankfurt, Germany. Needed a starter, needed an alternator, had to fix the hoses to the cabin radiator, even had to fix the driver's seat, but never changed the battery.

Drove a Dodge Caravan in FL (and Clarksville,TN) from 2002-2008. Never changed the battery. Never should've given it up, but do you remember $5gas?

Moved to Montana with a Dodge Stratus, 2008-2012. Had battery problems, but only in the winter (it gets cold in Cut Bank) and only if I didn't drive it ebough.

Drove a Hyundai Sonata in NC and FL, 2012-2020, had to get a new battery in 2016 and 2019. Had to get a new car after the tranny went out DEC2020. Shame too. Crossed the USA three times with that car, had about 260k miles. I'd still be driving it if I could've gotten a new transmission sooner and cheaper.

Driving a Kona now. Had it thirteen months. Battery died yesterday. Shit.

So, the story of the RAM 1500 truck from hell is finally over. With the shortage of new cars for various reasons, I had been getting offers to buy my truck. I decided to look into it. I took it to one local dealer and they offered $13,000. I submitted it to an online car finder site and they wanted a bunch of extra info that I couldn’t give, but they sent me to another dealer in a nearby town to appraise it. They didn’t give me an offer because it had yet another CHECK 4WD error on the dash. But the guy was helpful and explained how I was using the wrong model when I entered it.

I took it to my mechanic and got the 4WD fault fixed. Another $600. So I took it to another dealer for an offer. They offered $16,000. I thought about it for some weeks and, of course, the truck understood it was on double-secret-probation and ran perfectly. So I didn’t hurry to sell, but it was definitely the time to sell.

I saw a really nice truck, a Cadillac Escalade EXT, at a local used car dealer. Every time I went to look at it, though, it wasn’t there. It turned out the owner was driving it around like it was his personal vehicle. Seemed like he didn’t really want to sell it. Probably for the best. I really don’t need a truck. What I really wanted was a Class B motor home. But as I watched the used market for them, they were few and far between in my price range. So, I kept driving the RAM.

We had recently traded in my wife��s car, a Jeep Compass, for a newer car, a Buick Enclave. We found it at a Enterprise Used Car outlet where they sell rentals after they are a couple years old. It was a really good price and the car was immaculate and loaded. We were happy how it went. They also beat an appraisal I had gotten on the Compass for a trade-in.

So, while I was waiting and hoping something would come along on the Class B market, just for fun I checked to see what Enterprise had. I was thinking a van, which they sometimes have, but they had a few Dodge Grand Caravans available. I saw one I really liked, so I went to look at it. Of course, it was sold that morning. But they had a white one. Took it for a spin and decided white was okay too.

Here’s my thinking. The Grand Caravan is a large minivan. It seats seven, but the stow-and-go seats let you open up a lot of space. I thought it would be a good choice for car-camping and to do some portable Ham Radio work from. So, I bought it and traded in the Ram 1500.

I expected I would have to haggle to get a trade-in close to the appraisals I had gotten. But I was wrong. They offered me $18,200! Plus I get the reduction in sales tax. After paying off the remainder of the loan on the truck I had $10K towards the new car, plus I had a good amount of cash. So I ended up reducing my monthly payment by $100. Of course, I’ll be paying it for a lot longer now.

But the truck from hell is now someone else’s problem now. And I’m the owner of a 2019 Grand Caravan that looks and runs like new. Knock on wood!

Media Blames Trump for Playing Golf

LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Dec. 25, 2020.--Blaming 74-year-old President Donald Trump for spending Christmas and playing golf at his Mar-a-Lago resort in West Palm Beach, the media continues its relentless attacks on the lame duck president with only four weeks left to his one-and-done presidency. Trump was hated by the media because he called them out for pushing “fake news,” something that will remain in the national spotlight for years to come, if not indefinitely. When you look at Trump’s real value as president if may very well be exposing the media for serving as a propaganda tool the Democrat Party. Never before had the media been so blatant taking sides in a U.S. presidential election. Trump often called out the fake news at his campaign rallies, further antagonizing the press, spending all its resources to defeat Trump on Nov. 3. When Trump says the election was rigged, he’s probably not that far off.

Commenting on whether or not the president played golf is another example of how the fake news media pits itself against Trump. Trump gave it his best shot but the deck was stacked against him over the last four years with the press, both broadcast and print, spending much of their coverage on totally fake stories about his alleged ties with Russia. Day-after-day, nigh-after-night, the media spread the fake narrative that Trump had secret ties to Russia, all stemming from former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s paid opposition research AKA “The Steele Dosser,” a pile of rubbish accusing Trump of being a Russian asset. Democrats and the media pursued the bogus narrative for all four years of Trump’s presidency, only backing off briefly when 76-year-old Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered his Final Report March 23, 2019, finding there were no Russian ties.

But none of this mattered to Democrats and the media, relentlessly pursuing the fake narrative to hammer down Trump’s approval ratings, while he helped improve the U.S. economy and create foreign policy breakthroughs in the Middle East. Whatever good Trump did for the U.S. economy and foreign policy, the media establishment wouldn’t report it, so eventually the public was completely brainwashed to think Trump was only doing harm to the country. When it came to the coronavirus AKA SARS CoV-2 or Covid-19 global pandemic, Trump was systematically attacked by Democrats and the press while his administration pushed drug companies to come up with vaccines in record time. Even now, while vaccines are rolled out in record time, the media mentions nothing about Trump, only about the waves of new Covid-19 cases swamping emergency rooms and hospitals around the country.

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris told voters routinely before the Nov. 3 election that you couldn’t trust any vaccine developed under Trump’s watch. Now that Joe and Kamala won the election, they’re all in on the vaccines, urging the same Americans that they told to avoid vaccines to now get them. Blaming Trump now for trying to delay the bipartisan Covid-19 relief bill, the media talks about Trump playing golf at Mar-a-Lago while the rest of the country suffers. Trump asked Congress to give $2,000 in direct payments to individuals or $4,000 a family, compared to the paltry $600 payments agreed to by Democrats and Republicans. Yet the media blames Trump for delaying the $900 billion Covid-relief bill that spends much of the cash on Latin American governments, some enemies of the U.S., flooding the Mexican border with caravans of illegal immigrants.

Taking shots at Trump until he’s out of office, the media blames Trump for refusing to accept the results of the Nov. 3 election, when he has plenty of evidence that the deck was stacked against him. Texas Secretary of State Ken Paxton said in his filing to the U.S. Supreme Court that it was impossible to uncover widespread fraud because universal mail-in ballots made it difficult to prove fraud. Paxton’s brief to the High Court was prepared by Chapman University constitutional law expert John Eastman who said emphatically that universal mail-in ballots made detecting fraud next to impossible. Yet all the media says is that Trump’s a sore loser, when more U.S. citizens voted for Trump than any presidential election in U.S. history, claiming that seven million more voted for Biden. Like every other issue over the last four years, the media sided with the Democrats fake narrative.

Democrats and the press spend the final days of Trump’s presidency criticizing him for his decisions on pardons. But if you really look at the bulk of the pardons, they clearly make a statement about what Trump thinks of the Russian hoax that consumed Democrats and the press for the last four years. Weighing a possible pardon for National Security whistleblower Eric Snowden, Trump looks to make a statement about the same spying operations that harassed his campaign and presidency for four years. Pardoning Snowden would throw Democrats and the media for a loop since they favored a Snowden’s padon. Trump saw firsthand the dangers to a national security apparatus gone amok, with coveted U.S. law enforcement and intel agencies participating in a four-year conspiracy to undermine Trump’s 2016 and presidency. But the media can only talk about Trump playing golf and Mar-a-Lago.

The SE Plus trim gets fog lamps, a remote starter, automatic headlights, three zone climate control and Uconnect hands-free voice control for the infotainment. Optioning the SE Plus trim also gives buyers the Black Top Appearance package, which outfits the Grand Caravan with blacked out trim details and black wheels.

The SXT brings standard aluminum wheels, sunscreen glass, power rear-quarter windows and 3-zone air conditioning, Bluetooth streaming audio with steering wheel-mounted audio controls, a power 8-way driver's seat and fog lamps. Add the Entertainment Group and the Grand Caravan gets Sirius satellite radio along with a second row DVD/Blu-ray entertainment system.

The Grand Caravan can be outfitted to tow up to 3,600 lb with the Trailer Tow Group, which includes a heavy-duty radiator, transmission oil cooler, load leveling and wiring harness.
