Shout out to the strange and scary short stories I had to read

Years later I am still enjoying strange and scary short stories

I straight up do not trust you if you did not enjoy a single book you had to read for English class. I know they assigned some real stuffy stinkers and the curriculum varies across districts but not one? Not The Outsiders? Not The Picture of Dorian Gray? Not Fahrenheit 451? Not even Frankenstein? Damn. That’s crazy.

#i didn’t get to read Frankenstein :(#i don’t remember all the books I read in school but I remember liking some of them #probably would’ve liked more of the high school books if it wasn’t a Catholic school #Dorian gray was an interesting concept but #a lot of the assignments including the final essay were “what would God say about this?#i don’t know #this isn’t the Bible #couldn’t we just enjoy the books on their own?#in college I took a sci-fi literature class and that was fun #we read Jurassic Park #only one I wasn’t the biggest fan of there was The Forever War #sorry guys :(#i still enjoyed reading it #it was just probably my least favorite out of all of them.#Neuromancer was very confusing but the vibes were nice #i remember having to look up summaries after reading the chapters to really understand what was happening there
