Marketing is HARD!

Go on, I dare you to say otherwise.

I have met people that claim its not difficult. They are the same people that are trying to get me to sign up for their free program claiming I am going to make a million dollars. Or I experience people that convince me I can just blog about anything. Anything? So I can take my dog for a walk and blog about what comes out of his back end and I am going to make $100,000 a month? 

I work hard. I spend my days talking to people. Not trying to convince them to sign up for this that and the other, but talking to them and trying to help. I dedicate my days to not only talking and helping people, but quenching my incredible thirst for knowledge. I want to know everything there is about Online Marketing. I have a desire to help people and the more knowledge I have, the more equipped I am to answer their questions and get them making money.

Lets not forget making videos. I want to be able to reach people on a personal level and show them that I am real. Let them feel comfortable being themselves and going after their desires. To do this, it requires me NOT working in my PJs.

I don't use automatic lead generators.

I haven't joined 100 companies in a desperate attempt to make back the fortune I spent on them.

I am dedicated to my opportunity. Why? Because in this day and age there is a lot of hype, a lot of promises and a lot of scams out there. One company makes promises that sound amazing, but when you get it its full of fees and pass ups and name calling. Another has wonderful tools, but when one takes a look at the comp plan, the mind spins at how fast it realizes that 50% of not a lot is even less.

All week long I work hard. I work when I don't want to. I work when I am sick. I work from my phone when/if I cannot be on a computer. 

Until Wednesday.

Wednesday is by far my favorite day of the week. Not only is it pay day (weekly with no hidden fees just to collect my money) but its Power Team preview day! Each week we have a live get together and we get to watch and support the men and women of Neucopia. We get to laugh with them and cheer as they tell us their stories, all while having fun conversations in our private group! We get to meet the people of the company, weekly, that are making money, having success and living their dreams.

WHY I started a home business

I get asked this question a lot. It is common in the Marketing World to ask people why they want to start a home based business, or why they go into Online Marketing. It is our story.

So sit back for a few minutes, and let me elaborate on my "Why".

I am currently 39 years old. You may be reading this a few years from now, which in my mind is pretty cool because now I feel like I am writing to future generations of Online Marketers. Bear with me, I actually am a business woman with a sense of humor.

So I am 39 years old, and am just now getting into the fantastic world of Online marketing. But let me take you back 17 years.

I was 22 years old, and I was sick. Not sick with a cold, although that is what sparked the illness but sick with a disability. I had been a diabetic at this point for 11 years, and despite my best efforts to keep myself healthy, it just was not in the cards. I had developed many side effects to the diabetes and other random health issues. Sparing you the gruesome details of the several years I spent fighting for my life, traveling from a hospital bed to my own, sometimes on a daily basis, I could not work. Despite several attempts to get a job, I always ended up too sick to go, and either got fired or was forced to quit by my "boss" my health issues.

I tried stuffing envelopes for $.02 an envelope.

I tried taking surveys online, only to find that I had to Qualify for credit cards that I had no chance in the world of Qualifying for, because of the horrible credit having health issues can acquire.

I... I gave up. Working was just not in the cards for me. I still dreamed of the day I could earn my own income, but for that time being I was forced to live on the pennies that the government was kind enough to give me.

Fast forward to age 35. I had met the man of my dreams! A Soldier in the US Army, and he was/is funny as he is good looking. The entire package! He did not mind that I couldn't work, and has more times than I can count taken care of me when I was too sick to do so myself. After about a year, a feeling began to nag at me. I took care of our household, but I wanted to give more. I wanted to be an equal and in my eyes I wouldn't be until I could earn a living. Something else began to develop in my heart. I saw that my husband had given his whole adult life to the rest of the world. He had gone to Iraq twice to fight for a freedom most people take for granted. Everything he did, he did for other people but what exactly did HE want?

So, I asked. I asked him if he could be doing anything in the world, what would he be doing? When he retired, what was it that would be HIS dream? His dream is to become an artist. He wants to create things, so that other people can enjoy them!

Still, such a giver!

Well I knew that not only would I loose my health insurance when he retires (long story for yet another day) and would have to pay for my medical supplies like my insulin pump ourselves, but that Artists do not make much until they make it big. Or, sad to say, die.

So with the new technology at my fingertips (new because when I was really sick I didn't have the internet) I began to search. I found a company that claimed to be able to make me $200k in 6 months! WOW really? Sounded too good to be true and it seemed cheap enough. We aren't made of money in our household so saving some money sounded good! I am sad to say that at that time I believed in get rich quick scams, and having a business for $25 sounded legit. when I signed up to start my "New and Exciting Business" there was no training. My "Sponsor" wouldn't return my emails, wouldn't return my calls, and then there were more fees!

Wait, more fees?

Yes. A fee JUST to get paid, and fee to become an Affiliate and then when I tried to learn more about HOW to have my own business, how their business works I was told I had to pay $5145 to go "all in" and learn how to make money. I couldn't do that! My money tree outside was only just planted! It would not be ripe for picking for another few years!

What? I COULDN'T do that? Nope. Then I was called a wussy.

In my frustration, and now tears I began to frantically search for help. I found a person that had posted he was making money, and he could HELP! I sent him a friend request on FB and the second he accepted I sent him what i am now almost embarrassed to say, a message begging for help. I knew I could do it, I knew I had the desire and the intelligence to move forward, but I did not have the Tools.

Jaime held my hand, told me it really was going to be OK and told me how he could help. He had a school of sorts. All the support and training I could ever want and never be up-sold. Best part was it was less than $300 to get started and then less than $200 monthly! That's less than going to a school!

Which I tried. And had to quit because of my health. Student loan companies don't care if you are sick and cannot attend. If you were wondering.

So two days after surgery I joined. Yes, you read that right. I joined just two days after surgery because I knew in my heart it was the best decision for not only my career, but for my family.

My WHY is my husband. My WHY is my health. I cannot imagine not grasping the opportunity that was presented to me because it completely and totally has change my life.
