this is one of the test photos i shot today on my d700 loaded with a NEOPAN color profile. my entire body reacted like i was seeing an old friend for the first time in years, the resemblance is spot the fuck on. neopan (fuji acros 100) was my single favorite filmstock, the one i shot the most of, in every format, and i was heartbroken when it was discontinued. acros 2 is out now but costs like $14 a roll and i'm not doing that. i've pretty much quit film just for the high cost. it got cheaper to just get this old d700 for next to nothing, and its stock colors were good enough i was more than happy to shoot with it. been a good year of getting shots when i can, doing little animations, all of that. and then today, this. it is changing me. i am fucking giddy. y'all don't even know.

Film Photography!

I thrifted my first film camera this week as I was really interested in trying out a new style of photography. I thought it is important to really think about what I am taking photos of now that I have a limited and costly amount of photos to take! I thrifted the Minolta Hi-Matic 7s and 6 rolls of 20-30 years expired film. This meant I had to overexpose by 2 ISO stops to allow for better development. I shot one roll of B&W 2003 Fujifilm Neopan 100 Acros II and got these results! I am really interested in the feel of these photos. It is also extremely interesting to think about the photo manipulation within these photos. Because they are manipulated in a different way to digital. First of all, they have to be developed which of course have their own ways of doing so to get different exposures. And then they have to be converted from negatives to positives which in itself is manipulating the image. It is all manipulation!

There is a limit to only 30 photos per post so 6 are missing :)
