It's time for @theglowingskeleton and I to finish making a cake... and finish the game! We searched the Fish Dream and Moon Dream, and found plenty of ingredients hidden in chests! There was one we couldn't find though... not sure where it was! We looked around in the city on the way back to the City Dream, and found something neat! There's a whole room filled with Nekobungi Sumire, the creator of the game! I guess it's her development room! She tells you all the things she did to make the game. It was a pretty fun secret to find!
Back in the City Dream, we give all our ingredients to Ghaneghilly, and the baking contest begins! We have to play a mini game where we push the ingredients into a bowl, mix them, bake them for 30 seconds... and then we're judged! We did okay in the end, but we were no match for Marisa! She managed to bake an amazing... Tomato Torte! It sounds strange, but the judge, who actually is Wisteria, the girl who Marisa was dating in the flashbacks! Marisa wants to impress her with her baking... and it works! She gets a perfect score! It leads to... a surprising and very cute scene! It made me feel all warm inside!
But the scene doesn't last, as we're interrupted by strong earthquakes... after speaking with Marisa, we learn the truth behind the dream. It was a little sad, and definitely made me think about the future. But after that... we have the final dream! That means the finale is right around the corner...
And we played through it! But I'm going to post my impressions in a seperate post, so this one doesn't get too long!

You probably already knew some of them!
[Morishima Akiko], the legend of yuri manga world, wrote the first adult life yuri where everyone just lived happily ever after, purely out of spite, because she was tired of tragic adult life yuri and "it's just a phase" schoolgirl yuri.
[Takemiya Jin], one my favourite writers, her characters are very realistic and their relationships can be very messy at times, but that's exactly the reason why I like her works. Her characters are also explicitly gay, without any "I'm okay with it if that's you", and often use gay Japanese slang.
[Inui Ayu], the author of a very sweet autobiographical manga about her life with her girlfriend.
[Kobeya], the author of Edible Flowers manga, mostly draws Emeraldas x Maetel doujins now.
[Nekobungi Sumire], transmasc yuri artist. They also speak English (a bit!), so you can chat with them!
[Mutsumi Natsuo], my another favourite writer and a non-binary butch4butch lesbian! They draw exclusively butch x butch yuri and devoted their whole life to make as much yuri manga as they can. They're also a person behind [Boyish² anthology] that I already promoted here several times!
[Nishinotty], not an artist, but a butch yuri voice actor! I really like their works, they always choose words very carefully, and their line delivery is very sweet and caring or cold and scary when they want to. You can sub to their [YT channel] or support them on [Fantia] if you want to get some of their R18 works!

This will be my final post about @theglowingskeleton and me playing through Neko Can Dream! I'll quickly go through the end of the game and post my final thoughts!
Back in the bar, the bird exchanges the dreams we collected along with the Neko Can for a big pile of cat food. We get a can opener too! We have all the cat food we can eat! And you can have the cat eat as much as you want too! But the bird left the door open... And inside the bird's room, is the Neko Can. We finally open up the can... and the finale begins. We meet the cat's companion once again, who reveals the true nature of the city we've been in, and of the main character themselves. You are faced with a choice, which we chose to take... and the game ends! As the credits go by, we see some quick scenes of the dreamers. I was very happy to see a certain girl at the end work up the courage to speak to her love... I know he'll accept her!
And that's Neko Can Dream! I've been really vague in some parts of my write-ups, but if you're curious yourself, you really should check out the English version when it comes out! As for my thoughts on the game... of course, I loved it! The music and graphics are authentically Game Boy, a system which I have a very deep nostalgia for. I love how the sprites look, I love the character designs, and I love how heartfelt the stories are. The game isn't afraid to be sad, but it never dwells too long on sadness. There's still happiness and hope here! Reality is often harsh and sad, but it's always worth continuing through to live another day as our authentic selves. Maybe it's because that's what makes me so happy, but that's the message I took from the game.
In short, I love this game, and I'm so glad that I was able to find a copy and play through it together with the girl I love most! Thanks to @theglowingskeleton for being the love of my life, and thank you to Nekobungi Sumire for making a game I will never forget! I'm looking forward to playing it again once the English version is out!
