I'm as scared of the Cherry Magic remake as Neha/Tony Kakkar remakes of iconic Bollywood music.

I don't think TayNew can pull off the sweet innocence and maturity of Kurosawa & Adachi. It simply cannot be done. Also, New is wayyyyyyy too polished (in the promo pics) to have that Adachi energy. I am excited to see Tay as Kurosawa thought, the pining 😩😂. Maybe had it been some fresh faces, I'd have been inclined to go in it with an open mind but nawwwww.

I saw the Cherry Magic Movie last night and just the brilliance of the writing is even more exemplified by the portrayal of the actors ✨🤌 There is so much nuance in tackling the issues, yet it has much softness and goofiness to it. Even the show had an emphasis on the characters rather than the actual "magic" but I somehow get the feeling that's not gonna be the case for the remake.

There would have to have excellent direction/writing/adapting to make this even remotely work and I would most likely watch it to lose my head over it with y'all but I do want to keep the good feels and the butterflies the original version gave me 🥰
