The appearance of the new black wizard, Faris has taken the entire Fairy Tail fandom by storm because of a possible connection she has to Acnologia which has Ignia sensed about her. The question that has been on everyone's mind about her arrival is Where did she come from, and what connection does Faris share with Acnologia?

Just My Thoughts Pt. 30

As we approach the end of FT 100 YQ (manga), I have a lot of expectations and hopes for a good ending that’s well thought out and developed. Right now we are entering into Ignia’s arc which is probably the most anticipated one of the series so far and I really hope it’s not disappointing. The other arcs were good not great in the sense that they could’ve been developed a bit more since some parts seemed rushed or underwhelming.

Starting off with Lucy, I think there is a lot that could be done with her. While there were some parts where she was displayed well such as the Star dress mix or her battles during Selene’s arc, I think that she should have the spotlight at some point. She is often used for fan service and I don’t really have a care for that but it undermines her intelligence and soft hearted personality. For instance, in the original series we have seen her come up with great ideas such as closing the eclipse gate, sacrificing Aquarius, and using fairy sphere. And not to forget, she was also the one to figure out where Mavis’ grave was located during Tenrou island arc. I don’t really recall any memorable aspects of the 100 YQ that can even hold a candle to these from the original manga.

Therefore, I truly believe she’s in a need to showcase her abilities especially her intellect way more. Perhaps a mini arc for her reunion with Aquarius (via finding her key) or some interaction with Ignia. I have wondered why 100 YQ has been accomplished in over a century and of course Agnologia has some part in creating fear but is that truly all there is too it’s incompletion? I am hoping for something a bit more complex. Maybe Lucy can figure this out. Maybe she can have a battle all on her own. She’s grown so much since the start of the entire franchise and I would love to see her fight against multiple opponents at once. No help from the others. I would also love to see more Star dress mixes or maybe a new development. She’s most definitely the strongest and most powerful celestial mage, even surpassing Anna who probably held that position for a long time.

Or she can find out more about who Ignia is. We know he’s Igneel’s biological son but what was their relationship like? How come Natsu didn’t know much about him? What are Ignia’s true intentions? What does he want with all of the mages with fire related magic abilities? I really hope the ending isn’t downplayed like the original story with END because let’s all be honest, it was so disappointing because where was the drama?! Everything that has been hyped up with showing END as this awful villain was not shown properly. I also think a connection back to Lucy’s fear of Natsu’s flames caused by Ignia would be interesting. I desperately need this to happen!

Anyway I’m getting off track but I just want Lucy to shine through her battle strategy, intelligence, and her amazing personality at least once before the end of the manga.

Gray Fullbuster is the Weakest Link Currently

THIS WILL HAVE SPOILERS FOR 100 YEAR QUEST!

I know what you are all saying, what about Happy and Carla? I am not counting the two cats, and I truly do wish those two would get a decent power up at some point. I am counting this on the fact of team Natsu characters, which include; Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Wendy Marvell, Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster, Happy and Carla. As I stated before the last two I am not counting, but the other five are all up for discussion. 

AGAIN THERE ARE GOING TO BE SPOILERS BEFORE!

In terms of the group as a whole, they all have their greatest strengths and weaknesses, but there is one who sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the group. Gray Fullbuster. Not only does this go down to his magic and the difference in strength as of recent (I’ll get to later), but this also goes down to overall plot relevance even with the 400 year connection.  Each of the main set of the other characters have a set connection to 400 years in the past and the dragons, except Gray. I find this funny and it doesn’t really mean much but it is a detail I wanted to point out. Even Erza has a connection to Irene and was technically conceived all the way during the war. Then you have Natsu and Wendy who are obvious and Lucy with her connection to her ancestor and her mother who opened the Eclipse Gate. Gray has no connection, which I find unfortunate but there is not much that needs to be discussed there. On the other hand, there is the power difference and the plot relevance as of currently which is t he biggest hinderance to his character. I always adored Gray’s character from the beginning and felt sympathy for his character. His history with Lyon was always interesting and the pain he felt when he saw the old Ultear is still one of the harder scenes for me. His potential grew even more when we discovered who his father was and he gained the Devil Slaying Magic, meant to kill E.N.D who we found out was none other than Natsu, his best friend whether he would want to admit it or not. However, it is safe to say that as a character Gray has not grown at all since the 100 year quest began. The only thing that seemed to grow is his bond with Juvia (which is another issue I’ll discuss in the future). Its upsetting as there was so much potential for his character but each time his spotlight seems to be stolen away up until recently. He had nothing to show against the Dragon god of Water and most likely will not against Ignia, which you would think he would have something up his sleeve. Up against Selene’s minions he had nothing and when he could finally have his moment vs Wendy, Carla, and Happy it was stolen away. Until recently you could say his battle with the member of Gold Owl, but even then it was interrupted by nonsense with Juvia. I can’t think of any recent battles Gray has had that wasn’t interrupted by something with Juvia or another character when he finally had his chance to shine, but maybe my thoughts are just blurry. My biggest issue is that everyone has grown. Wendy has of course as well as Natsu who of course does because he is the center character. Lucy is basically one of the strongest Celestial Wizards Fiore has ever known and Erza... well she is Erza and so is always going to have a new armor up her sleeve. Meanwhile, Gray has nothing. He has his Ice Devil Slaying powers, but we have had nothing to show it. We have no history on Devil Slayers to know how strong his potential is. We have hardly any demons as it is. In fact, there are only three known users of Devil Slayer Magic. The other two are dead, who were Silver and Bloodman from the final season. There has not been a mention of another user let alone any without the ice as its main element.  There is so much potential for Gray and yet he falls behind the group due to the writing being so focused on Dragons. I know Gray will always have Juvia and Juvia will always have Gray but it would be nice if they both had their scenes to shine, or at least give them a boost of strength.  Anyways, let me know what you guys think. I’m curious about your current thoughts of Gray Fullbuster and the Devil Slayer dilemma. What are your ideas to fix it?

Hmm, opinions of mine that have changed over the time... let's see! (Some of them are controversial)

Nowadays, I feel indifferent towards Gajevy. Don't get me wrong guys, I like them together, just not into the ship as much as before. And it's not because I ship them with other characters now.

I don't like how the sequel portrays Juvia/Gray/Gruvia. Feels like they can't have their own moments without somehow the ship being involved. I wish Mashima gave Gray some good fights, Juvia some relevance to the plot.

I love Jerza much more than I used to before, they're now my favorite after Nalu!

I don't want Jellal to join Fairy Tail, let him be on his own missions with Meredy and the former Crime Sorciere members. It'll be great if he's relevant to the plot and meet Erza in between for onscreen progress.

I don't want Ignia to hurt Lucy to trigger Natsu. I want Lucy to have her own connection to the Ignia plotline if she's going to be involved in the mess.

I don't want Aquarius Stardress to merge with any other since that completely destroys the uniqueness of the other one used. Let her get other combos. Enough of bikini outfits.

The sequel sometimes does injustice to Natsu's character by playing him as dumb which isn't the case at all.

I don't want to see another broken fight between Lucy and Brandish for Aquarius' key. Let them decide the ownership in a more mature way.

I love Rogue x Yukino more than Sting x Yukino and Rogue x Minerva.

As of now, Selene is a better character and villain than Ignia. But Ignia is more interesting.

Erza vs Laxus puts all other Erza fights to shame, even Erza vs 100 monsters.

Lucy's Capricorn outfit is absolutely sexy but as a stardress of a combat oriented spirit, it doesn't do much besides saving her from hypnosis. She should have combat abilities more.

Lucy's Cancer and Sagittarius outfits are better with the black leggings added by the anime.

Atsuo can't draw women as good as Mashima does. The thin waists and wider hips seem funny. Lucy and Juvia look bad in his style. That said, I appreciate his efforts to keep Mashima's artstyle a lot but it just doesn't work for me. Also Laxus' body shape looks absurd at times.

And yeah, I don't like the sequel's treatment to Nalu as well. Just in a different way than Gruvia.

biggest gripes i have with fairy tail (and 100yq)

1. e.n.d. need i say more

2. natsus idiocy in 100yq. we all know he’s smarter than he acts, he’s an idiot on purpose. but still, there’s so much lacking. like they threw away half of his character development from the main story (example: his reaction to losing control, mindlessly destroying everything even if it meant killing those around him, lucy being the one to pull him out of it, and BURNING LUCY. i’m still fuming about this)

3. lucy rewriting his book. as of now, she had no repercussions, even though zeref said it was IMPOSSIBLE and would KILL HER. she had demonic energy flowing through her damn body and it just…..went away?? everything surrounding e.n.d. was so sloppy.

4. the dragon slayers vs. acnologia. how they defeated him was totally fine, but the final fight was so underwhelming.

5. makarov coming back to life. sorry, i love him, but he should have died.

6. half-assed background story for cobra. he’s such a cool character and he deserved MORE

7. the fact that we got absolutely no backstory for levy or the reasons she joined the guild at such a young age.

8. natsu and gildarts convo when he was gone for a year. why wasn’t it animated UGH

9. the overall avoidance of huge, character crushing events (mainly between natsu and lucy). future lucy dying, lucy losing aquarius, natsu losing igneel, natsu discovering he’s e.n.d., zeref being his brother, lucy rewriting his book, zeref dying, him burning lucy, finding out ignia is his brother, ect. yes, we see how some of these things effected them, but they never actually TALK about it. i just want some serious convos between natsu and lucy about how much these things effected them! ESPECIALLY when lucy lost aquarius. like, these events warrant some type of comforting convos between the two! things get brushed off so quick and it’s so frustrating

FT100YQ Ch 89 || Lucy will defeat Selene?

Firstly, a quick overview over the chapter...

So this chapter starts off directly from where we left last time! Now that the Alta face is defeated, the hands are all falling apart and our gang had to make a run for it now, lol.

One of things I love about FT is the light hearted comedy mixed with the plot.

And yaaaay, the Magic Circle returns:

So apparently, now that Beauty Godess are defeated they're being arrested by Elentir's army. And where was this army until now?

Their rivalry finally somes to an end and I'm so glad. Mimi had to be officially my favorite Lucy rival now! Look at the smug expression on her face. She is so proud that she was defeated by someone like Lucy. Mimi is saying something along the lines of "Let's fight again" and Lucy is like "that won't be necessary". But really, it's kinda sad that even Mimi had to be arrested.

Natsu is such a Chad and a sweetheart that it never fails to put a smile on my face. When Touka was getting upset about all the chaos she cause, Natsu was like "Hey, it's okay!" And he turned it into a fun environment.

Now the main focus:

Lucy will defeat Selene?

I think it is worth noting that this was the first time when the main villan wasn't defeated, which is very good considering the plot progression so far. Let's be frank here, after all that TN went through in this arc, they were in no position to defeat Selene or Suzaku no matter how wounded they were. It would have been like dragging the plot unnecessarily and wouldn't have made any sense at all. So yeah, I'm totally satisfied with how it went.

The thing is, FT isn't just about slaying God Dragons bit rather about good and bad. Look at how much problems and terror Selene caused in Elentir. TN may not have been able to defeat Selene but they liberated Elentir from her curse and now people can live freely. Good for them. They were some kind of 'Mesiah' themselves in a way for the people of Elentir.

My theory is that Selene is kept for the final plot. We have seen that Lucy is at the level of Selene's Minion at least and to see Lucy defeat Selene would be a major development. It feels like Udea and Mashima Sensei are setting up the main villans for the final plot, it can be Natsu vs Ignia and Lucy vs Selene.

Fire vs Volcano, Stars vs Moon. For now it looks like Lucy is missing home so they're going back next chapter. Back to Earthland where we have Diabolos, Ignia and Vernies waiting for them. We still have no idea how they'll find the next God Dragon but let's see what happens.

Hm... After reading the full chapter, while I received no "new" information, I'm honestly feeling a /little/ better?

  Like having all those naked girls (especially Wendy) clinging onto Natsu like that is STILL yikes, but I guess this just confirms the theory that Natsu's genuinely clueless about romance, and is indeed alll about friendship and just friendship for the time being.... (I theorized that he secretly felt/thought/knew more than he let on, but that theory's officially debunked lol ToT)

That being said... When I thought about it differently: like if /only/ a Lucy doll appeared and this was our long-awaited, non-disputable, confirmation to Natsu's feelings, would I really have been 100% satisfied? And honestly...? No. Like of course I’d been happy to finally have my ship openly mutual in a romantic sense, but I’d then definitely felt underwhelmed by the way it happened?

After all, NaLu's an extremely popular ship, and Mashima has openly admitted to liking them too, and he knows that the fans really, really, ///really// want them to get together, so if he decides to do it.... Would he really do it in the middle of a non-solo Natsu fight w/ a minor villain/underling of a major villain that has no special significance to Natsu or Lucy? Would that really have impact? Would that really be memorable? Especially since the chapter isn’t even centered on Natsu + Gray vs this ice woman, but also shows parts of Lucy’s + Erza and Wendy’s fights? Imo, this was really not the right place, although the “comedy” is still a huge miss.

 Thus, I go back to being positive about their romantic canonization/development happening/being saved to Ignia's fight, since Ignia 1) actually means something to Natsu, 2) is a major villain, 3) is most probably saved to the very end, and his first appearance actually brought a bunch of solid NaLu with it?? So mayhaps, just mayhaps... It’s safe to be positive? I honestly don’t know, but it’s too damn hard for me to give up on this OTP and resort to fanfiction alone lol, so Imma stick w/ my hope to the very, very end. (I already went through so many highs and lows w/ them after all 8D; )

Fairy tail (100 year quest)chapter 69 rant spoilers

This chapter everyone has been separated gray, natsu and happy are together Erza and Wendy most likely touka and faris are also together but who is the alone this time? Lucy last time she was by herself she ended up having to sacrifice her dearest friend for her guild. So what will happen this time?

In my opinion I feel like it’s gonna be good at first I was like she will find Aquarius this arc but also that can’t happen now first of all. The main reason brandish is in the picture again is to rival Lucy to find Aquarius key. If she finds it in elentir what was the point of putting her character in again?. So I feel like maybe Lucy might run into one of Selenes companions and end up fighting them just like what is going on with Erza and Wendy a new enemy appears and I’m totally excited for a Lucy fight natsu has interrupted her fights so many times it’s about time she gets to kick ass again

Like the tatraous arc she fought again 3 demons and saved everyone. Elentir had boosted up her magic.

And because of this we will hopefully get to see some combinations of star dresses and new powers. Another thing is I kinda want her to fight Selene I feel like it would be boring to see natsu take out all the dragon god in this series

He took out/saved mercphobia and aldoron and fighting ignia is a given also that leaves us with selene and viernes left. But it is possible that after all of those dragons are taken care of it might lead to another thing. With the twist of the requester being evil and starting something.

We also still have Diablous to take care of there is a lot more dragon eaters to fight and hopefully Lucy will get the chance to fight snd defeat one also.

And there is also the real white wizard we have to take care of so there is still a lot of learn in this series and I feel like finding Aquarius might be in the middle or towards the end of this quest is when she will find her or we can also have a side series about her quest to find her.

But so my favorite arc this series has to be the aldoron arc we’re we got Lucy vs lisana, elfman and mira. Erza vs laxuz. Natsu vs gajeel + finding out levy is preg which i cried about and also the side character actually got to find max plus company I forgot the names of and the diabous were we meet a old fairy tail member

Fairy Tail Discussion: END'S POTENTIAL RETURN IN 100 YEARS QUEST!!

E.N.D was one of the most talked about characters within the Fandom because He was essentially revealed to be the main character Natsu Dragneel specifically Etherious Natsu Dragneel at the end of The Tartaros Arc. One in which had so much build up in the original series that ultimately felt like an afterthought towards the end. That is until Fairy Tail:100 Years Quest Manga came out and we had gotten to a sign that almost resembled what Natsu looked like as E.N.D when he was given Ignia's flame in the Water Dragon God arc. Before things got any worse it was thanks to Lucy who prevented the situation from getting any worse. At the same time, it also led to many people in the fandom to speculate about E.N.D's potential return in the series more so in the latest arc.

Chapter 28 thoughts + predictions

-well they’ll have to put aldron to the side for the foreseeable future

-there’a gonna be some confrontion again obviously but I feel like the biggest one is gonna be Natsu Vs Laxus and or gajeel.

- Natsu’s gonna lose control cause of ignia’s flames again and hurt one of them and that’s gonna further the Natsu vs ignia/himself storyline

-touka is gonna switch back from the white mage and be scared of Natsu’s flames just like Lucy was

- I like that the dragon gods have different morals and allegiances, mercuphobia was worshipped by the fish people for them he really didn’t even like being what he was, aldron apparently asked them to build cities on top of him so he must like being worshipped, Ignia is battle thirst from what we’ve seen. It’s nice to have a group of “enemies” that aren’t clearcut villains

Okay so- *clears throat* let's start this chapter!

I really was curious about Ignia's powers from the start. Lookinf back to the 1st time when he showed up *flashback music* and lended his power to Natsu, our boy literally went bersek and wanted to burn down everything, those flames literally burnt Natsu's hands and Lucy's stardress as well as her skin. And now Selene calls him the FLAME OF DESTRUCTION.

Even Ignia says something like that. Maybe this is some kinda foreshadow.

Honestly *sad sigh* this means Selene's gonna enter the labyrinth to fight Ignia but the matches aren't finished. Natsu vs Suzaku is interrupted due to Ignia showing up. Now if Selene enters the place then we're probably not gonna see full fledged fights(Lucy vs Kyria, Erza vs Misaki) *whines*

It has been long since I did a analysis on NaLu. So today, I'm gonna give a close review on Natsu's personality and how his actions are sometimes wrong. Ik I can die for this ship but I'm not blind to any flaws. And today I'm bringing up one.

Wk that Natsu is an immature dork but he is NOT dumb in any way. He's fairly capable of understanding bonds as well as handling hard sitiations in his own way. He has done that many many times throughout the whole series yet he's often deemed as an idiot who's just as clueless as a yound child.

In case anyone forgot, I should remind you the times he was properly able to get the circumstances and solve the problem- the time when Lucy's guilt took her over bc of the Phantom Lord incident, when Erza went alone to fight Jellal, when Gray multiple times tried doing ICED SHELL, when Acno attacked Tenroujima, when Lucy got to know about Jude's death, when Lucy lost to Flare, when F.Lucy was grieving, when Lucy backhugged him after the Eclipse project was stopped, when Igneed died, when he saw Lucy's wall during Alvarez arc, when Lucy was conflicted on the thought if they could bring Gray back or not, when he fought Zeref and realised what Erza's words truely meant and from who they were from, when Ignia showed up, when he hurt Lucy by burning her, when Aquarius showed up during the fight with Nure Onna and ntm his beta heaven.

These are the notable moments when Natsu showed he is mature enough to understand a lots of things. Bookish knowledge doesn't always determine someone's intelligence.

Despite that, he has a lot of flaws in his character which aren't often addressed by people due to their favouritsm. Most of them are revolving Lucy and their very relationship.

Natsu is Lucy's best friend, the closest person besides her spirits. But for some reason (that only Mashima knows besides God) he has never talked to her about himself and his past/Igneel while Lucy being the open book she is, he knows everything about her family and past incidents. She has opened up to him multiple times which isn't the case for Natsu. If we take a close look, it's pretty unfair.

Mira's the one to tell her about Igneel, she got to know about Zeref through third party, even the reality of E.N.D was informed to her through Happy. Despite Igneel's death happening right before Lucy's eyes, Natsu never once talked to her about his emotions. Instead what did he do? He left her with a letter or a "will" as he himself mentioned because he needed some space....This was one of the worst execution of Mashima imo as it could've been turned into a big plot point for them but it DID NOT. Since Natsu never even apologised to Lucy or brought that up, I think I'm free to count it as a mistake on his part bc he didn't bother thinking about Lucy's feelings reagrding his absence for a fucking year. Yes, ofc he tried making up by bringing the guild together and comforting her but that doesn't change the fact that he indeed caused a rift in their bond.

Natsu's capable of handling emotional situations easily but failed more than just once to convey his feelings to Lucy when she brought up her own about his sudden leave, that too 2 times. Instead of sweating every time, he should've just stated reasons and his trauma about Igneel's death. It could've made Lucy's fakeout death even more impactful.

When he regained his consciousness after Erza stopped him and Gray from killing each other, why didn't he just confess to Lucy that E.N.D is none other than him and that he was ready to die along with Zeref? When he came back to her after defeating Acno, why didn't he just tell her his feelings regarding everything that had been going on with his past and Zeref?

Even when Happy brought up that he had burnt Lucy while going bersek, he apologised but instantly made a joke and ruined the built up tension. Why? Why couldn't he just tell her what he bad felt when Ignia's flames took him over? The recent Natsu vs Lucy plot has also become a wasted potential, instead of explaining how Lucy pressed his face in her boobs, why couldn't he just have a meaningful moment with her telling how scared he had been when he had failed to bring the real Lucy back?

Whenever Natsu has to face a different situation where it's about him and Lucy and things aren't normal, he doesn't know what to do? He becomes so much clueless and stands there sweating until someone else interrupts or he can think of a joke or Lucy herself backs away from confronting him. And It's one of the biggest reasons why he takes her for granted in their relationship bc he knows well that things will workout somehow between them.

The last chapter of the main series was a big proof of it, Natsu wanted to say something to her but NEVERMIND bc they're always gonna be together! While it indeed was a big development for Natsu but it again showed how he tends to avoid any difficult situation with Lucy. As long as she's with him, safe and sound what else does he need?

Even a more mature person like Gray was less determined about Juvia until the fact that Juvia has been waiting for him from the start and she won't always wait hit him. Imo, Juvina was one of the greatest push for GrUvia. While does Natsu realise this very thing? NO.

He has reached the level where he thinks Lucy is his own and if it's not him then it's nobody. I do like the little jealous and possessive moments bc they give away what Natsu feels inside but I also know his feelings aren't fair to Lucy. She's free to be with anyone, heck the type of boy she considers her prince-charming. She's not bound to Natsu if he doesn't date her officially.

But according to Natsu, Lucy is forbidden for any other male unless it's him lol. Jealousy is an extremely neg emotion and the root cause of it is selfishness. While this emotion is okay sometimes for couples and people who are in love with each other, Natsu is taking it a bit far. He is limiting her interactions based on people who might be a possible threat for him as a rival. If we recall the time when Dan was going crazy after Lucy and Natsu was just chilling there with no tension what so ever, that explains the difference. He actively chased off people who were hitting on Lucy even tho she wasn't even paying them attention. He aggressively yells at Elefseria bc he got inside Lucy's shirt but then proceeds to shove his own hand in. It's not okay for her to go in public in a towel but it's okay for him to see her naked? Him getting perverted thoughts about her is ok but when someone else does the same, it's NOT?

This is a wrong behavior, it would've been ok if he tried taking any initiative in their relationship but he DID NOT. He's just chilling thinking Lucy is for him and only HIM, there's no need to make a move on her bc Natsu won't let anybody do that.

I can't even begin to count how many more amazing things could've been done with NaLu. It's not that there's no stakes but it's that Mashima just wants to milk money through the ship aa much as possible. It's just that he's using our love for this ship.....
