The winter solstice in 2019 was December 21st

Temperance’s attempt to destroy the town (if I did that math correctly) was 4 days after the Long Night Ball

4 days is December 25th, also known as Christmas Day

Temperance literally tried to destroy the town on Christmas Day

The thing with 4x08 is that it’s unquestionably the best episode of the season/one of the best they ever did, but it leads into the worst run of the entire series AND the two scenes that we later learned didn’t even really happen are both about Nancy and Ace acknowledging that they want to be friends and a part of each other’s lives even though it hurts but then THEY BARELY INTERACT FOR THE NEXT 3 EPISODES. Make it make sense!

some of the things in the nd finale would have hit soooo much harder for me if the show runners weren’t dead set on convincing me it’s only been a year since the start of the show? like, really? 4 seasons packed into one year? all of that shit happened to nancy in one calendar year? sorry but I can’t believe it. everything with the claw and the historical society and everyone acting like they have to move away from each other would have made me so emotional if the show followed an irl timeline and it really had been a few years.

do you ever think about 4x03 when nancy says "god i was jealous of amanda" and ace says "i was jealous of gil, and park" (i'm paraphrasing both of these here) like it's these huge revelations which, i guess, yes for nancy and ace to actual admit it, it is. but i can just picture george, bess, and nick with their ears against the door listening and george just goes "yeah, no shit, it was obvious"

this entire thing would have been 1000x times more believable if it had been bess who erased the sin. like nothing changed except that after ace called nancy she called everyone else and bess always-messing-with-supernatural-shit-she-doesnt-understand marvin makes the executive decision to erase her best friend's guilt and this simultaneously gets her under the thumb of blond antimagic lady which would have served the purpose of making the whole stupid, dumbass bess standing up for magic in the town plot have a point.

because nancy simply would never have done it for the exact reasons ace yelled at her following the reveal so i DONT UNDERSTAND WHY SHE DID IT!!! argh and then tristan who has been superfluous and unnecessary since 4x01 why are you still around WHYYYY
