nancy's relationship with the drew crew
nancy 1x01: "they're not my friends" nancy 4x13: "But now I know that we choose soulmates ourselves. Fate leaves that up to us. And, like he also said, maybe you get more than one. I know that I have. I got four."

I knew as soon as I posted my unofficial Episode 3 blog preview we’d get official photos - so you’re welcome😀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the fits check out from the BTS photos and trailer scenes, and great to see Carson and Jean, where we’ll see how their relationship is going in ‘The Hopeful Sigil.’ We’ve got shorter hair for Ace and George as we saw in the BTS (they both look amazing here). The ‘sweet moment’ Nancy and Ace will have is all I can think about now. Also, ARMS. Finally.

Nancy Drew Final Season Theory
Tumblr media
So since past lives/reincarnation is being hinted at, I’m going to say that Nancy and Ace are star crossed lovers in every one of them. Maybe she’s promised to Tristan (because older times 🙄), but always falls for and chooses Ace (even though it may not end happily for them in each of the past lives). The sins from the towns past could also potentially revolve around some choice made by past Nancy/Tristan/Ace that impacted everyone/changed everything and them making a different choice this time in the present determines the fate of Nancy and Ace’s star crossed love. Nace’s love is literally the light between (all of their past) lives.

okay so I'm actually so confused by the last episode of Nancy Drew
like Ace didn't die or almost die, the curse seemed to trade to Nancy. But Nancy didn't die either - and her death was very different from the death that the curse originally implied. Ace and Nancy had weeks and then Ace died of earthly things, Nancy immediately just fell to the floor without any real cause.
I guess I'm just confused how that worked. My only conclusion is Temperance made Ace's death a lot more painful and dramatic with Nancy's hallucination to bring on more pain. Get her to be in love and happy for a little bit only to strip it away from her, and Temperance hitting Nancy's car and killing Ace was more of metaphorical to imply that the moment they acted on their feelings she would immediately kill him. And then I guess I would assume when they tried to get rid of the curse it more just kinda reversed it, since the flowers ended up being moths, so the spell was faulty.
however the doll never broke, so if they got more flowers they could do it again and it would probably work. ALSO, Nancy not dying is weird, because it implies that they got away with it??
like does that mean if Nancy kissed Ace (without trying to even stop the curse) and he started to die, but they brought him to the doctor and he made it out alive, wouldn't that be it??? or would he just almost die every time they kissed until eventually the doctors weren't fast enough?? I just don't understand the logic like how did Nancy survive and yet they all are like "yes well the curse is still very active." like it's a death curse and yet Nancy and Ace are not dead.
anyway those are my thoughts for today. I feel like the writers would've made more sense if they did a thing where now whenever Ace is close to Nancy it would start to activate the curse again, so they couldn't be together because of close proximity. or something like that.
I WILL say that it would go very AGAINST Ace's character if he saw Nancy almost die and not back out. Obviously he didn't care when he was at risk but the moment he saw Nancy could die, its very like Ace to sacrifice happiness and love for Nancy to live. I think, just like Nancy, it has to take him some time. Nancy took months apart from Ace before she realized she couldn't do it anymore.
I just don't understand the curse 😂 the logic is just not adding up. like she almost died but modern medicine cured her, shouldn't that be it?? obviously not because when would it ever be that easy but I just don't understand

Nancy Drew finale DESTROYED me. Four years ago I wanted to watch something mindless. It had the “THE PEOPLE WHO MADE RIVERDALE” in the promo, a perfect match. And then…I binged the first season in like, four days, glued to the screen whenever I could. Knowing how the CW machine worked I was worried that there was no s2. We got 4 and I’ll always be thankful that they gave us this last season.
I’ve been in the fandom on here as fast as s2 started. And it’s just so satisfying that some things that we predicted AS A FANDOM turned out to be true. (That A.H. is priceless to me.) We were shocked knowing that everything happened in canon was packed into one year. Now, sitting here, I can’t believe I’ve been with this show for 4 years.
I grew out of my CW phase just right before ND was on air. I stuck to this show until the end. And this is the way CW ends for me, with Nancy Drew and it’s bittersweet, but satisfying ending.

Thoughts about 4x01 (AHHHHH)
AH WE'RE BACKKKKK
THAT JUMPSCARE!!! oo you got me, just like s1 got me! (i feel very happy saying that)
Why does Nancy keep confessing her love for Ace out loud to Ryan and Carson? I mean.... Ryan can't keep a secret can he? (or did fanon get to my head??)
love that Nancy is a mysterical (is that a word, did i make that up, look away) success but a adulting failure, we love to be represented
nick being the photogenic eligible bachelor as he should be (I volunteer to be tribute) love that the only eligible bachelors can be Nancy's father or Nancy's ex-bf, we love being surrounded by pretty people
NOT ACE RANTING ABOUT THE BROKEN BAROMETER CZ HE KNOWS WHATS UP (almost, give my man some credit)
nancy is such a team player it's amazing
we're getting so much bess and ryan interaction... does that mean we can't get george-bess interactions anymore? NOOO
ryan honey when a suspecting relic dealer couple give you back your Porsche that they've been holding hostage, you don't drive it out without a full checkup. i mean nick coulda taken a look at it
THE MUSIC GIVES ME THE FEELZ OF S1 (official season 1 till 2x05) WHICH I LOVE
Ace i think the universe is conspiring against you every time you get a step closer you either get arrested or killed (too soon??)
they had such a good storyline with lawyer-apprentice! Bess, why did they ever switch to George? I want more of Georgeeee
the corpses are kickass jumpscarers i must admit as I laugh my ass out of horrified-land
can't believe nancy just left the broken bottle and his name out there (under a paper thingy but that doesn't count bess is nosy as hell) and now he's gonna find it isn't he
it all comes back to that damn clearing, isn't that where nancy had her wraith vision in the drew-a-fish episode?
WHY ARE THEY GOING SO CLOSE TO THE BODIES EWWW
jumpscarejumpscarejumpscarejumpscare— YUP you didn't get me that time hahaaa
GOO I REPORT GOO COLLECT THAT SHIT IT TENDS TO WANDER OR OPEN PORTALS cmon did we learn nothing from Legacies GUYS!
yep he saw it yeah boo she's lying
AHHHHHHHHHHHH HE FIGURED IT OUTTTT
wait is she allowed to tell him um then why did i read all those fanfictions with charades and 2k words on just them playing jacob and bella with werewolf confession all over again? (bcz ur a sucker thats why they were such wonderful fics too)
I TOLD YOU TO PICK THE GOO! PICK THE GOO! PICK THE GOO! ew it's heading towards the water supply! NO it's gonna be sand piper all over again STOP GO BACK DON'T BE SUCH A MALIVORE
um.... so i couldn't live-blog it this time cz timezones are a shitshow but i'm here with my entire notes laid bare i have so many theories and- and- and- AHHHHHHH

I’m finally ready to talk about The Maiden’s Rage - if you’re interested in an in depth analysis, I’m planning a series of posts as there’s just too many amazing scenes and too much to cover. I’ll be going into detail on the subtext of scenes, callbacks to earlier seasons, behind the scenes clues, and discussion of the more ‘uncomfy’ bits as well (I’ll preface with a trigger warning) as there is so much to unpack.
Tumblr media
Starting with George - she and Leah had an absolutely stellar episode. Seeing George come into her own, her confidence in her abilities, her maturity in her relationship with Nick, her realization that her mentor had failed her, and then her determination to understand the mystery of the case and ultimately the town water supply, from beginning to end was breathtaking. Also, she looked amazing in every fit. Kudos to Leah and to the costume dept!
Tumblr media
Speaking of kudos, the visuals in this whole episode are outstanding. Nancy and Ace, as George so astutely puts it, start out together but not too together, mirroring the tension between them as they navigate this next stage of their relationship. We left off Episode 1 where Ace ran to Icarus Hall (swoon), leading to Nancy finally confessing they’re cursed. We’ve jumped to the next day (presumably) and Nancy doesn’t want to risk telling Ace anything else, believing that it won’t make a difference, while Ace still wants to know everything (not the last time he says it).
Tumblr media
Ace’s admitting he went to Bess for moral support is something we’ll see more of in the episode - it’s a good thing he has his Platanchor because he’s in for a rough ride. Nancy’s teary “You will die” reminds me of the S3 finale opening scene, “I won’t let him die.” In both cases she believes she’s doing the right thing - she’s already lost so many people she loves. The difference now is Ace is finally clued into what’s going on and doesn’t accept her keeping things from him.
Ace’s journey from the 213 Claw deck scene where Nancy successfully pushes him away, “Not my place to say,” and here, where he relentlessly pushes her for the truth, “What aren’t you telling me?” shows how far he’s come.
But Nancy continues to “make the call” and shut him out, not unlike S3’s Piper Beach episode when she overrides Bess’s opinion. Nancy’s tendency to dismiss the feelings and opinions of those closest to her when she’s under pressure is already in full force, well before the poisoned water begins to affect her behavior.
Tumblr media
Ace’s expression reminds me of the Amanda breakup scene in 306 - the mixture of anger, frustration, and sadness about someone he loves is written all over his face.
Tumblr media
As a break from the turmoil, I loved the introduction of Jade, and can’t wait to see how their and Nick’s relationship progresses. Nick and Bess have a rare but hilarious scene together, with a chance to gently poke fun at Nick’s (and Tunji’s) lack of social media savvy. I have to agree with George that he could lose the hat.
Tumblr media
Back in the locker room, the fight continues with Ace getting increasingly angry that Nancy’s holding out on him, pleading for her to let him in because “I’m in this curse too,” while Nancy is “trying to be strong.” Oh, Nancy. Visually it evokes Nancy and Ace’s S1 fight in 107, this time with Ace coming down the stairs to confront Nancy instead of the other way around.
This feels like it could become a theme for them, with a struggle between Nancy’s desire to keep Ace safe at the cost of his autonomy. I’m glad they’re exploring this, even though it’s difficult to see them fight when all we want to do is bang them together like Barbies and make them kiss already.
Tumblr media
With the entrance of Tristan, things get even more awkward, Ace furious but begrudgingly admiring Tristan’s ‘solid’ boat name, Jolene, the famous ‘other’ woman. Tristan (that hussy) flirts with Nancy shamelessly, but doesn’t know what to make of Ace’s instant classic line:
Tumblr media
“I made it this morning.” 💀 I love him so much. Visually Tristan starts out in the middle (just like Ace between Nancy and her love interests in past seasons), but later the perspective changes with Ace in the middle and with his back to us. This foreshadowing of the inevitable love triangle is making me sad 😔 .
Tumblr media
Back to the mystery, Nancy and Ace respond to George’s call for help to investigate Judge Abbott’s strange behavior before his heart attack. Nancy assures George “we’ll figure it out, that’s what we do.” Ace’s silent response is absolutely devastating. His expression and body language scream, “You’re willing to figure things out for George, why not for us?”
Tumblr media
The supernatural poison is about to turn Nancy into Bro-Nancy, but I’m out of room and I have a lot more screencaps. This was literally just the first seven minutes (and I skipped Bess and Addy, but promise to come back to them).
I will probably not shut up about it every time I talk about this episode, but Alex is killing it in every scene, every shot. Kennedy’s incredible turn in this episode is epic, and I can’t wait to dig in next time. But this in many ways Ace’s episode - the range of emotion is so effectively portrayed, often purely with body language and facial expressions. Ace may not be the Maiden, but he has some serious but controlled rage (justified IMO) as he finally advocates for himself and the life he wants with Nancy.
‘Til next time, Drewds!

Nancy Drew Season 4 (aka the final season 😭)
I was just wondering what everyone’s thoughts and theories for the final season are since it comes out next month? I’m posting the official synopsis in case anyone hasn’t seen it, or needs a refresher.
“Season 4 of Nancy Drew begins as Nancy launches a new investigation to find a group of missing bodies from Horseshoe Bay’s cemetery that have been dug up and stolen—or have possibly risen. As Nancy is drawn into this ghostly case, a string of unexplained paranormal crimes leads the Drew Crew to believe that the literal sins of the town’s past have returned to haunt the living. Meanwhile, Nancy struggles with yearning for Ace, the man she loves. But when a slow-burning attraction begins between Nancy and the son of Ryan Hudson’s newest enemy, Nancy must decide whether this love interest is worth the ire of both her father and Ace—whose own heart may also be tempted by a new relationship. Nancy’s exploits this season will bring the Drew Crew numerous standalone cases, stunning twists, humor, and unexpected romances as they are drawn into a season-long mystery unlike any they have had to solve before. When Nancy’s efforts to protect her seaside hometown from the sins of its past backfire, she must do the unthinkable to save her friends from both the supernatural and earthbound threats coming for them—and it could cost her everything, and everyone, she’s ever loved.”
✨ I am 100% not here for Nancy and Ace both getting potential new love interests again. I mean we go through this every season, I’m tired of suffering 🙃.
✨ I also need Nancy and Ace to get together before the penultimate episode/series finale. I would like to have some episodes of them as an actual couple and to get to explore that dynamic.
✨ Will we finally get Ace’s last name revealed? I could see it happening in the series finale (or not at all).
✨ Do you think the road back will make an appearance? Despite being this powerful/shadowy organization, we haven’t really seen much of them and their actions since season 2.

I know Nancy and Ace will both be getting other alternative love interests this season, but I have a feeling those love interests will do nothing but turn them back to each other.
Nancy will only be with anyone but Ace to either make Ace regret his decision, or to distract herself from not being together. Ace will only be with anyone but Nancy to try and move on and get over her.
I have a feeling whats going to happen is Nancy will be with what's his name and it will purely be for a distraction and she'll make that clear, she's not interested in anything by physical, and he'll fall for her and she'll have to explain that she's madly in love with her best friend who's cursed. he'll probably be like, "Yeah, I know, just thought I'd give it a shot."
and Ace will try so hard not to be with Nancy but the only thing his new love interest will show him is he can't be happy with anyone else, not when Nancy is still alive, his soul mate. and this chick I'm sure will have the whole, "Oh I get it you're in love with her and I'm nothing in comparison" thing and he'll just tell her yes, but him and Nancy can't be together. and she'll probably say something like, "I don't know a lot about love, but I do know one thing - nothing could keep me away if I finally found my person." and he'd realize she was right, he was just living in fear and letting Temprance win.
and then they'll reunite both realizing they'd both rather die then not be together (a real Romeo and Juliet) and they WILL break the curse, because if they can't be together then what's the point being with anyone and honestly love or something will probably be what breaks it.
point is, I hate new love interests, but it's obvious these love interests are purely going to be pawns in bringing Nancy and Ace back together at last.

I’ve had a hard time keeping up between all of the content and posting the final full chapter of The Space Between. Now I just want to stare at THESE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the Episode 2 promo photos. This may have broken me. This is the episode where “Ace (Alex Saxon) senses that Nancy (Kennedy McMann) is holding back and presses her to give him more information about the curse.” IN HIS BEDROOM SITTING ON HIS BED.
Pretty sure it’s Ace’s bedroom - that is the “Ace” poster from the finale on the wall, and the sage green walls, and lighting, match his apt. as well. As someone who has written a few scenes in this room, it’s exciting to see it 😂.
Remember this is also the episode we saw in the M3gan trailer where Nancy has a (supernatural?) stomach bug, that Kennedy said had a Burning Bride vibe, the episode with the first cast photo, and with the adorable pic of Kennedy and Leah sitting on their respective characters’ cars. AND, the episode where Kennedy said “Big Poppa” was her theme song, and and where she is very silly in the final scene in the season trailer (“That is how you CONDUCT an investigation”). I believe she has some kind of whammy that makes her overly confident - hence the Big Poppa vibe and the cocky attitude in the trailer - where I believe she’s talking to Ace.
I’m out of my mind for episode 1, but episode 2 might do me in (I can’t even TALK about episode 3!).
We’ll also get Bess making dinner for Addy’s parents, Nick on a brunch date (!), and George in aspiring lawyer mode. CANNOT WAIT!
