The music direction of this episode was fucking sick.

Ergo Proxy is one of the most fascinating anime ever made. The fact that some people stopped watching it halfway through because it was too "boring" or too "philosophical" makes me a little sad. And let's not forget that for an anime of this scale, only someone as talented and experienced in the field as Murase, along with Dai Sato, the lead scriptwriter of course, could have brought this project to life. Not to mention all the talented people who contributed to the anime. Yuichi Nakamura, the voice actor, once said about Murase: "He's known for getting so fixated that he can't finish his work." I hope that after the Hathaway movies, he'll be able to direct original anime again in the same style, and that we'll keep him away from manga adaptations, lol.

Like, yeah, the Dojima angst potential is immense. Imagine... a very sick Nanako calling for her mom when she sees Yui. Or Dojima watching them interact and wondering how Yui can be so different from her mother (not knowing Yui's got a year of character growth divorcing her from what she was like before) and where or when it all started changing.

and YEAH look I love hyperfixating on Yosuke but the rest of the IT's relationship with yui is so MMM *squeezes air* Kanji's apprehension of distrust of girls ending up in Yui needing to invest more work into it rather than gaining respect almost instantly- or LITERALLY any of the girls having more trust in Yui by default. (Yuri)se is fine but I also really like her as the ultimate wingman for Yui. I need this for my own health.

What if the hotsprings but not cringe. Sister bonding time instead of naoto poke time.

The girls absolutely drag Yui out shopping about getting an outfit for the festival. At LEAST Ai would. Because of course they all get together and talk about what they're going to wear and that's when Yui has to confess that she never had one/wore one and they have a blast about it.

But also like, Yumi and Ayane change a lot. Shu perhaps? Sayoko for sure. Hisano commenting that Yui reminds her of herself, perhaps? Or perhaps one of her children (since she mentions Yu looks like her late husband?)?

Shungiku Nakamura importance

Shungiku Namakura is a mangaka who started her career in 1998 with Yaoi stories. She is signed in the manga topic with a lot of famous stories like Junjou Romantica (Pure Hearted Romance), the Junjou Romantica spin-off called Sekaiichi Hatsukoi (The World's Greatest First Love) and Hybrid Child. Her manga stories also have age gaps between the couples.

However, she is coy about her art style even it's still being a big influence in the manga arts nowaday.

Hybrid Child

The history is about three couples. There are android childrens and their owners who afterward fell in love with them. Also, all the couples are connected in some way that we could call fate. Hybrid Child is for the tragedy-hearted lovers, since it has moments when the characters need to face the death.

Junjou Romantica

It's the most famous Shungiku Nakamura's manga. Release in 2002, Junjou Romantica is about adult lovers. The couple's stories are divided by Junjou Romantica (Misaki Takahashi and Akihiko Usami), Junjou Egoist (Hiroki Kamijou and Nowaki Kusama), Junjou Terrorist (Yoh Miyagi and Shinobu Takatsuki) and Junjou Mistake (Ryuuichiro Isaka Kaoru Asahina).

The first couple apresented for the reader is the Misaki and Akihiko. In the beginning Misaki discovered that Akihiko was in love with his brother and he feels pity for Akihiko since his brother is going to marry in a stable relationship.

Sekaiichi Hatsukoi

The story scenario is in the Shoujo manga publishing with the main couples being Ritsu Onodera+Masamune Takano, Shouta Kisa+kou Yukina, and Chiaki Yoshino+Yoshiyuki Hatori.

Since Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is a Junjou Romantica's spin-off there's easter-eggs mixed in the chapters.

After all, why Shungiku Nakamura is important for the Yaoi community?

The answer is: she is a tremendous phenomenom. And when we are talking about he 2000s this is very significant. Some years earlier, in 90s the public was debating about the Yaoi stories and if it could be an awful thing for the present and future.

Nevertheless, after the Internet boom between 95 and 00 years the Yaoi content started being acessible for the mass and reached overseas like America and Europe. Shungiku Nakamura was the precursors Yaoi mangas that touched the hearts with her light, romantic and dramatical love stories.

Finally, her manga is still on top sellers and a big inspiration for the current Yaoi manga (especially her art style).

Shungiku Nakamura will always be a good reading for everyone who loves good romance with some angst. There's no better advice than recommending a Shungiku Nakamura love story.

Though I Am An Inept Villainess (Nakamura Satsuki)

"In the Kingdom of Ei, five clans put forth their maidens as imperial consorts--but only one will be crowned empress. Just when frail and beautiful "court butterfly" Kou Reirin seems poised to marry the crown prince, jealous "court rat" Shu Keigetsu steals her body! Reirin wakes up in the dungeons as the conspirator, and things look dire…or do they? Now that she's got a robust new body, not even the looming threat of execution can stop her!"

Since this series has basically no presence on the English-speaking net that I can find, I figured I should try to get the name out there. Inept Villainess is the story of a head consort-in-training in a not-historical-China rear palace who gets body-swapped with the lowest-ranked consort-in-training, and from there, she works to figure out how to get back to her own body and also stop an assassination or two while she's at it.

One thing to note up front is that this series wears its influences strongly on its sleeve for the first two or so books, The Apothecary Diaries most noticeably. It's not quite as realistic in setting or heavy in tone as Kusuriya, which might strike some readers as disappointing, but on the flip side, if you were hoping for magic in Kusuriya, you're in luck here.

But what's it about? Why the tags? The story starts out with Reirin, darling princess of the Kou clan and favorite to win the crown prince's favor as Empress, getting bodyswapped with Keigetsu, the envious and widely disliked Maiden of the Shu clan. The first two books of the light novel (first four manga volumes) center around Reirin, an absolute dynamo now that she has a body that isn't actively trying to kill itself, trying to get her own body back because she feels bad that Keigetsu, a socially awkward and abrasive girl, is stuck in said body-trying-to-kill-itself, while trying to not out herself since Daoist magic is frowned upon. Thus, Reirin takes it upon herself to be a villainess - though she's not a very good one.

The first two books are honestly a little weak! Some clunky exposition and a slight feeling of making Reirin Too Good For This Sinful Earth may put people off, and if you're hoping for yuri, the possessive crown prince Gyoumei and handsome crownguard Shin-u might rub you the wrong way. But forge ahead! As soon as the second arc begins, which sees Reirin and Keigetsu teaming up with their unique skills to bust more conspiracies around the Maiden Court, the chemistry doesn't stop sparking. Make it through the first two books and you're in for a treat, as the character writing only gets better and better. There's even a confession in LN volume 5 - though there's plenty of affection between Reirin and Keigetsu before that. (And I can't not mention the canonical lesbian love story in volume 2!)

If you like the sound of A) a bisexual polycule branching out from a central WLW couple with realistic and layered personalities, bouncing off of a lot of very colorful supporting characters; B) magic-assisted scrapes and conspiracies, wuxia-lite action, and scoundrels getting comeuppance; C) prose that can handle swinging from character jokes to taking a quite realistic look at issues like abuse, forgiveness (whether and how to give it), the pressure to conform to a role you don't know if you're ready for, and other such topics, check the series out! As of this posting there's been no announcement for an anime, but the light novels are translated into English up to volume 7.
