Three Pokemon sit upon the warmth of a campfire. Orion, a Garchomp, fixing a small injury they’d gotten from a fight with an anomaly that ended up taking the form of himself. It didn’t stand a chance—just a visual anomalous entity, Enki had put it. While it wasn’t harmful to pokemon—it was harmful to the world they had been situated in. It would be harmful to the world’s spacial stability, as Palkia would put it. While the God of Space was busy with all of the other larger anomalies around the multi-verse, Team Lustrous—hand picked specialists from different timelines.
Orion had been on the losing side to a war against Rainbow Rocket, but had escaped countless times, and his selfless heroism gained him even a wish from Jirachi. Phobos, their odd-colored, ‘shiny’ leader, was being misled into finding ways for Team Flare to counter-act the Haxorus’ ideas on keeping both people and pokemon safe from harm. And Enki, a strategist through and through, used for man-made Mega Evolution experiments and tests. None of them per say were.. happy with how they were treated by humanity.
That being said, the three of them had been working for Palkia for nearly twenty years at that point, and had helped the space deity with making sure the world’s were safe from otherwise dangerous anomalous energy and entities. But now, for the first time after a mission, Palkia had placed the three on standby, maybe to ponder on their successes, or maybe a break was in order for the trio. Silence is broken by the crackling of the flames, unbridled in its energy, Phobos is the one to break the ambience, causing Orion to look up from the finalizations of his bandaging, and Enki to un-curl their head from their neck-tuft of fluff.
[ “ Astraeus wants us in a world he and Nabu are focused on right now for the foreseeable future. “ ]
Orion perks up immediately, looking with curious intents when Phobos noted where Astraeus wanted them to go next. Sometimes he feels as if they aren’t joking when Phobos mentions that a Chosen One can speak telepathically with those they’ve been chosen by. Volcanion sure as hell doesn’t speak telepathically to him. To be fair, Orion hasn’t been chosen by anyone, just.. helped Volcanion among others escape the Rainbow Rocket facility in a last ditch effort to escape a world meant to shatter. Enki on the other hand, listens intently to what their leader has to say.
[ “ They had recently merged two timelines together, neither timeline was stable so they had thought the best idea was to merge the two together. “ ]
Phobos wanted to continue, but Orion is there to swiftly interject the situation, pretty much finishing Phobos’ statement for them.
[ / So We go to this new world, and constantly look for anomalies that could be caused by the timelines being put together? / ]
[ “ Exactly. Though, given the fact that they’re telling us to go when morning comes, something’s telling me they want us to take this at our own pace. “ ]
Enki is excited, as the Noivern had uncurled, preening his tuff of fur straight before looking at the two of them, and that made three, fully awaken, fully evolved team members of Team Lustrous, now simply rearing to go. Of course, that begged the question, just.. where were they going to be headed to? Another timeline? What would it be like? Of course, the three of them pondered, before Phobos’ telepathy had reached Astraeus, causing a portal from the skies to have opened up near the clearing of the forest the three pokemon were situated in.
[ Gather your belongings // I’ll be briefing you three in the Hall of Origin before you go // Here. ]
Astraeus pops their entire body back into the portal from whence he came, a portal opening below for the three to enter, Enki putting out the flames, while Phobos and Orion place their supplies into their satchels, straightening their scarfs, of course they were headed there as soon as possible, Enki entering first, as they didn’t really have anything on them like the other two did. Orion making sure the fire had gone cold before heading in, and finally Phobos.
Enki’s attentive gaze lies on the hallways of the halls of the pantheon. It’s been a full year since they were last year. The last time they were in here was for a mission that had them go to a world without humans, and another time a world without pokemon. They could probably guess where they were going if both Nabu and Astraeus were apart of the whole mission briefing.
As the three of them stroll through the halls, Palkia and Dialga appear in the clearing, Orion fixes his scarf, and Phobos stands up straight, not even a hitch in their breath. Enki, despite their whole idea of visiting another world, this is also partially meant as a break, anomalies will appear, that’s going to be certain. But.. there’s gotta be more to this.
[ ; Due to timeline instability // Astraeus and I have come to request you three dawn your identities as an Grandmaster Rank Exploration and Research Team. // You will be stationed until everything is clear. // ; ]
[ I know you three have been successful in all missions since recruitment. // I request that you use this new world as a means to get to know your surroundings. // Report back every month with new findings, We have your team’s Grandmaster Badge here on the desk, you may grab it as you leave. // Any Questions? ]
The three of Team Lustrous look around to each other, none of them had any questions, as their answers were quickly all answered solely from the deities of Space and Time explaining the mission to them first hand. Phobos nods as he is the first to clip the badge pendant around his neck, and to his scarf, then Enki, and then Orion.
[ Well then. // I wish you three the best of luck // And Remember... // Don’t treat your entire time here as a mission. // Alright? ]
Astraeus sighs, seeing the three enter the portal, closing it behind them, Nabu looks over to Astraeus, wondering if doing this now was a good idea. Having three strong-armed pokemon such as them going into this world, it will make this world’s heroes suspicious. They can’t just hide their mission from everyone. Especially with whom else is all going after this same issue that they rumor to arise soon enough.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom Review
A friend and fellow gaming writer once told me the worst part of this job is when you have to review something the community absolutely loves, but you just cannot seem to like it. The Steam store page is plastered with blue thumbs pointing up, Metacritic boasts a whopping 86%, but, somehow, you just cannot relate to the masses. Well folks, with Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, that day has arrived on my PC.
Let me be clear that I do not think Monster Boy is completely bad. This game still shows that rare gem of innovation you only get from the AA and indie scene, and it can be really fun to play. It is obvious that the developers, FDG Entertainment, are deeply in touch with the strengths of their source material.
Meet the protagonist, Jin, except he barely stays in this form throughout the entire game.
In truth, my objection to Monster Boy’s overwhelmingly positive reception lies in how this game clearly runs into some infuriating moments of inconsistency. The delicate balance this game holds between its unique blend of Metroidvania and platformer components too often gives way to seriously frustrating moments. I feel like I spent a little too much of my play time gnashing my teeth.
More than a Tenacious D Song
Monster Boy has quite the legacy behind it, and you can trace its primary influence all the way back to SEGA’s Wonder Boy that came out during the mid-80’s. Since then, Wonder Boy has passed between the hands of several different developers, and every subsequent studio that worked with the IP contributed at least one new gameplay mechanic that stuck.
Now the torch has been handed to a German-based studio who have added their own bits to this Frankenstein monster of an IP, and FDG Entertainment has done a great job at using Monster Boy’s mixed heritage to make the gameplay relevant again. What we have here is a game that is neither pure Metroidvania nor thoroughbred platformer, but instead draws from the strengths of both.
Monster Boy’s story is so simple that the title is practically a spoiler. Once upon time in a mystical kingdom, someone called Uncle Nabu unexpectedly goes nuttier than squirrel poop, and starts flying around on a broomstick like a witch. In a moment of naughty sorcery, he ends up spreading a strange curse across an entire kingdom which turns all the inhabitants into humanoid animals.
You can actually talk to some NPC’s during gameplay, and I must say they seem rather laid-back about being turned into bipedal rats, sheep and owls. Perhaps they don’t mind having fleas, or licking their own butts? Thankfully, a boy named Jin chooses not to spend the rest of this life as a piggy, and swears to put an end to his uncle’s antics.
While being a swashbuckling swine (complete with eye patch) has its perks – such as lightning attacks, stun attacks, fire balls and the ability to sniff out treasures and so on – our hero soon discovers that he has bitten off more than your average hog can chew. To reverse his uncle’s curse, Jin must unite five magical orbs hidden in jungles, caves, and even at the bottom of the ocean. Oh, and each orb is protected by a giant monster (i.e. boss fight).
Once Jin gets his porky hooves on the first orb, however, he inherits its power, which gives him the choice between more than one animal shape! Being a frog suddenly makes reaching the underwater orb a real possibility, and being a slippery snake means small crawlspaces are no challenge at all (and, for some reason, crystals light up dark spaces when you spew poison on them).
Paws and claws
My reason for saying that Monster Boy feels like a blend of genres is because it plays out like a Metroidvania game in its progression style, yet the snappy movement and combat mechanics lean more towards a platformer experience. It is particularly in the latter where FDG Entertainment’s experience in developing physics-based, mobile games really shows.
This game is full of great little ideas for platforming. You use the ice sword to create a makeshift platform.
With regards to the Metroidvania elements, Monster Boy brings back what was established in 1992’s Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap. This game introduced a sprawling map to the series that gradually opens up to the player as they gain the ability to transform into different animals.
The world map, which bears a striking resemblance to the maps from Super Metroid.
Whereas games such as Dead Cells or Hollow Knight imbue the player with weapons or abilities to assist with progression through the map, Monster Boy takes this process further by asking the player to transition to an entirely different character. The player will ultimately be able to change into a total of five different animals after they have collected all of the orbs.
I already mentioned the little pig who is a long range projectile specialist as his special attack, and also a treasure sniffer. He can hit enemies from a distance during combat or trigger switches in puzzles, plus he makes the most adorable little fart every time he eats an upgrade!
Piggy doing his thing. You can switch between several different ammo types. Boomerangs must be caught if you hope to keep them.
The pig sinks like a stone underwater though, which is where the frog comes in. He is super agile below the surface, and he can use his extendable tongue to hang or pull things which become a central traversal tool later in the game. Then there is the muscular lion that represents the tank of the bunch. He can dash upwards which is particularly helpful if your jump needs a bit of extra height, or to bash through brittle walls when going sideways.
The snake specialises in sliding up and down non-horizontal surfaces which is pretty neat, but his venom-spitting attack became somewhat redundant for me towards the end of the game. The dragon… well he flies and belches out fire pretty much par for the course. It is with the dragon where Monster Boy took the oppertunity to introduce a few brutally difficult shoot-‘em-up sections against enemies in the sky.
The snake… which, for some reason, is really sticky. Then again, I have never seen a pig throw fire balls either.
Monster Boy combines all these abilities into a single, cohesive experience that results in some excellent platforming gameplay. The player can switch between characters on the fly to combine their abilities for solving puzzles, defeating bosses, or to reach secret areas. Now factor in that you can augment many of their abilities with armour or weapons, and you have gameplay with some serious potential.
Why has this water dash ability not featured in more games!? It’s awesome!
A Thing of Beauty
What will really bowl over newcomers and seasoned fans alike are, of course, the visuals. This game is so vibrant, so colourful, so vivid, that you will probably see imprints of the screen left behind on your corneas after closing your eyes.
I mentioned earlier how the gameplay is a fusion, which could also be said for the visuals. You can tell that the art style has an unmistakable Eastern foundation in character design and certain animations. Yet, there is obviously also a Western influence involved with the visual aesthetics, and they work together here in a truly slick and beautiful manner.
This game could probably fix stuck pixels in any monitor.
Monster Boy’s lively visuals have been complimented by an equally jolly soundtrack that combines upbeat, almost arcade-like tunes with the classic little sound effects from 80’s platformers when you pick up coins, run over a checkpoint, find an upgrade, etc. This game is the very auditory and visual embodiment of happiness, which, on a personal level, was a welcome contrast to the dark and sombre JRPG’s I always seem to be stuck in.
A Thing of Anger
After reading all that, you will be excused for forgetting that I actually ended up disliking Monster Boy. So let me try to elaborate on where this game lost me, and thus explain my surprise for why so many reviews actually omitted these issues upon the game’s launch on the Nintendo Switch in 2018.
The overarching problem I had with this game can only be described as Monster Boy’s tendency to repeatedly throw inconsistent difficulty spikes at the player. If you add up all the time I struggled my arse off just to get past one enemy or a particularly tricky jump, it would almost rival all the rest of the gameplay. To put it another way, Monster Boy likes to pull ‘dick moves’.
One of the many infuriating sections the game makes you fumble around in the dark. This sucks.
First off, the checkpoints are rather terrible. This means that, if you die, you will have to play entire sections over and over and over and over just to make it to the part you are actually struggling with. The repetitive nature of these moments already started sucking a lot of fun out of the experience.
On top of this, the game features some moments of awful enemy placement. For example, during one awesome level I found myself in a sloping and tilting shipwreck, which means I had to compensate for things rolling around. This was fun until I reached a simple section where there were some bats hanging from the ceiling that swoop down onto the player with their attacks.
What should have been one brief moment in a series of challenges took me nearly twenty minutes to clear because you have to jump upwards towards the bats to get past them. Unfortunately, the character is completely vulnerable during the jump animation, and it doesn’t help that the shield in the game only seems to work when it feels like it.
Two hits from the bats and you are dead, and there are four of them to get past. Did I mention you will also be placed right at THE BEGINNING of the sequence if you die? It is impossible to regard this as an engaging challenge when such moments just smack so clearly of poor level design. This was by no means an isolated incident, and I can make a long list if you like.
Doing ‘shrooms! This is the second boss.
The boss fights, on the other hand, are awesome as you will use the different animals and each one’s unique ability to conquer the huge behemoths. However, I again found myself screaming “dude, what the hell!?” after I realised this game utterly refuses to replenish your health (even after a boss fight).
Matter of fact, you will always restart with the amount of health you had when passing through the last checkpoint. This may sound like a minor gripe, especially considering that the player is given a teleport staff to reach portals near health refill shops.
Yet this is a hard sell for every single time I find my character low on health and in a sticky situation. A well-placed platforming segment or enemy encounter can still be fun even if it is extremely challenging. However, you want to play in the game, and not against the game when you start off these moments already handicapped with half your health.
Note my health in the top left corner. That is what the game gave me upon re-spawning, and to think I first approached this boss with full health.
Last issue worth mentioning is that some puzzles – particularly those that enable the player to progress – were not that great. I felt like the solution came to me through trial and error or just blind luck rather than requiring me to rack my brains. I particularly questioned why the developers deemed it wise to make the player literally feel around in the dark as an idea for certain puzzles. Like I sad, dick move.
Metroid in vain
What is so weird about Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is how these really abysmal and frustrating moments appear right in the middle of truly great segments of gameplay. Just as you start getting comfortable in the momentum of your game… your serenity comes crashing to a halt as the game throws a totally pointless curve-ball at you.
Perhaps the devs in charge of level design went on a coffee break during the final crunch for the game release date. Maybe it was the office rookies that were given the heavy lifting while the main level and gameplay designers were smoking a cigarette.
I will still give this game a recommendation because I must confess that I am not exactly good at platforming or Metroidvania games, so perhaps the fault is mine. Note, this is a very, VERY tentative recommendation, but I think this game has some truly innovative ideas that might just sustain players through moments when their molar teeth are smashing together.
Beautiful
Great platforming gameplay
Variety of locations
Boss fights are cool
Very inconsistent
Awful check point placement
Obnoxious level designs
Mediocre puzzle sections
Playtime: 21 hours total. For the single player campaign
Computer Specs: Windows 10 64-bit computer using Nvidia GTX 1070, i5 4690K CPU, 16GB RAM – Played using an Xbox One Controller

A well deserved nap, so to say. Fukuro ponders as he enters the portal to the Hall of Origin. A place he hadn’t been to in nearly a century. Maybe it’s changed for the better after he accidentally snapped at someone prior to his nap. Stiff bones crackle as he takes the time to stretch out his old bones, the crackling causes some gazes to shift his way, but, one can understand the need after napping for half a decade. The Dragon of Ideals sighed as he looked around. No sign of Reshiram. Sleeping wasn’t going to help find them.
There was only one place he could look now, He’s checked so much and yet the amount of Conversing Nabu and Astraeus did to one another in the sheer moments he was already in the Hall, it intrigued him, piqued his curiosity. Half-awake, the dragon slips by and approaches the two, who seem unfazed to seeing the tired third wheel stroll up to him, Fukuro takes a moment to think of something to say, before yawning.
[ “ No sign of Reshiram yet? “ ]
[ Apologies. Nothing’s.. popping up in any of our searches. We’re busy with current issues, but.. the timeline we’ve been looking over has a lot wrong with it, maybe your brother is there? ]
Nabu looked at Astraeus in shock. Sure, Reshiram was long gone but.. What was Astraeus hiding in saying such? The Dialga knew that they were dead, long dead, but.. Maybe Astraeus was out of the loop? Maybe he wanted to stave off the pain and anguish that the Zekrom before them may be feeling, keep them feeling.. hopeful. He understood that much but.. lying to keep them afloat in the realm of living just felt cruel. Nabu couldn’t lie anymore, so he just.. went silent, thinking about what to say. Fukuro notices this and sighs. Pondering his own pain, and thinking that Nabu’s just busy with so much going on at the moment.
[ “ Ah.. Maybe this will be one of those.. curiosity driving my brother in? I.. didn’t think of that. What’s the current issue? “ ]
-
[ Massive Anomalous Entity we’ve codenamed ‘Time Eater” for the time being has been.. swallowing timelines, causing instability, and otherwise causing both us great issues. It has.. already affected this timeline, so we were forced to merge three unstable timelines just to grant stability.. ]
Astraeus explains the situation, it nearly makes Fukuro cringe just thinking about it. The last time he was awake, it was about Dark Matter, and now a Time Eater? Yikes. That needs stopped. As soon as possible. He wonders if the trio of pokemon he’s seen here once before has been the three helping out Astraeus with the small stuff. It sounds horrid that this much has gone wrong in the five years he’s been asleep. Sure, his ideals, his powers, they have the potential to change the world.. and if he finds his truth, he would be able to keep the world in balance on that front.
[ “ If I find Reshiram, we can keep people’s ideals and truths in the balance while this all goes on? “ ]
[ Exactly. That’s what we’re thinking.. but there be another Reshiram also coming in, if you’re unable to find your original. ]
Fukuro notes back to Binzuru.. A, erratic, but kindred soul of a Reshiram that cheered on him finding his original brother. He smiled gently and nodded in response. Nabu looked away from the two just to hide the guilt in his eyes. Time has passed and he’s still mourning the death of his chosen hero, biting his gums and nodding, before walking away, leaving Fukuro and Astraeus alone in the hallway of the place of Origin.
[ He’s still mourning. Don’t mind him. I’ll open the portal up to this specific timeline if you’d wish to explore it freely. I will have to warn you, however. This timeline(s) haven’t seen the Tao Trio in thousands of years. Do be careful, Fukuro. ]
[ “ I.. will. Thanks. “ ]
Nodding, Fukuro looks back, waves Astraeus goodbye and flies through the portal, with the God of Space soon after closing it and sighing, looking in the direction that Nabu went.. You can’t mourn Silvanus’ death forever, Nabu. This is already affecting your ability to rule and keep time stable as I do space, Astraeus thinks to himself, standing in the ambient silence of the Hall of Origin before he follows Nabu.

The Story Continues..... in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: The Final Frontier. Welcome to a Love letter to Mystery Dungeon, ran by Tex. The Final story to Silvanus, Lendys and many others in the universe of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Takes place the year Silvanus arrives to the Dual Verse.
Chapter 1 begins here and now... but first, a prologue.
He hacks his lungs out for what feels like an eternity, a Grovyle lays there in an open field, soaking with water as a strayed rope and broken rock lays nearby. A band of rogues jumping through a portal before the Grovyle had enough time to follow after them. No. He needed to hold on, he needed to keep holding on to his very life, these low-life scum had proven that he COULD be killed, he needed to be stronger than this! He needed to do something and fast!
He roars out in pain as every fibre of his entire body screams in agonizing pain, his lungs filled with water as he struggles to breathe, shoving a hand down his throat, he begins to throw up the water in his body, chest heaving, body convulsing in pain as even through all of this, the gecko composes himself somehow, the invigorating feeling and emotion in his heart causing his entire body to engulf in a bright white and blue, he was--HE WAS EVOLVING. He was actually evolving
But he had to survive, that’s why he was thriving to EVOLVE in the first place. And then he felt nothing, having collapsed onto the ground completely exhausted, and--the evolution didn’t go through, no changes were made to his body, at all, even, he just laid their, heavily breathing as his mind wondered to a dream, it didn’t feel like a dream, it felt like a vision, a message--something he was meant to see, he hears a voice calling for him, followed by the name Savras---Savras? Did..did he ditch his old name? Why would that be? Isn’t that.. he read this in while he was in that other world.
Savras means.. it’s a personification of fate. He could get used to the name, for now he’s gone by a name he wasn’t even sure fit him in the slightest. If this was a message, if it was the truth, he will gladly accept this name. Once he awakens, Palkia is looming above him, holding something in the grasp of his hand, it is a necklace of sorts. He perks up after stretching out, and Palkia speaks nigh immediately after the gecko composes himself. One hand is glowing, closing the portal that he’d arrived from with it.
[ “ We have finally solved your anomaly. You are free to go Where-ever you may ple--- “ ]
“I want to save the timelines out there being affected negatively by those that tried to kill me.”
[ “... What? Are you telling me another Calamity is about to befall our--- “ ]
“Not mine. Another, and all around the timelines. Not my World, Safe Haven my world is now. “
Palkia stared at him in shock. The energy emanating off of his friend, who was usually depressed and exhausted all the time, it had shocked him, what had pushed the gecko to be accustomed to this new-found knowledge. Palkia had thought to himself, but by him thinking, Dialga, Celebi and Arceus soon step out from their own portals. Celebi smiles and waves at their friend that had awoken, and the gecko weakly waves back, before returning to his confused state. Palkia, God of Space. Dialga, God of Time, Arceus, Creator of the world, and Celebi, a friend of his, a Guardian of Time herself. They all were here, it gave him a chance to explain everything that had just happened to him.
“ I was given a memory, a vision--A great calamity is about to occur. Not here, but throughout the timelines, all of them. I don’t know-- I was shown me--in the future-- answering to the name Savras--- “
( “ Fate itself. Whoever granted you this vision believes you to be the missing piece of the puzzle to help against this calamity. “ )
Dialga speaks out, pondering what this all means, the gecko spends the next couple of minutes explaining the vision in brief to the others there, While Palkia approaches and places the necklace over the Gecko’s neck, a soft light emits from the time-gear like shape in the middle, it makes the gecko feel invigorated, Dialga smiles, as if knowing what Palkia had just done. They had figured out the way to empower the gecko to explore the galaxy, the universe, all the timelines without worrying about the invisible timer that was the anomaly of his attachment to this timeline.
Fate. Savras, personification of fate. He’ll take up this name. It’s fitting to what he’s meant to do from this vision. It was a sneak peek at the future. It didn’t look like anything was wrong, but how he knew he had one final mission to befall him. One final mission that would probably be the death of him, but this mission seemed to be one where he’d get to meet other versions of him, other versions of the world he helped save before it was going to befall the curse of Darkrai and the anomalies that happened from Silvanus surviving the disappearing of every pokemon.
Arceus stares at the Grovyle, and smiles, looking to his fellow companions, Space and Time, and the Guardian of time itself, before looking back at Grovyle. Nodding in acceptance, solidarity that he knows exactly what this gecko has the idea of, Savras, accepting of his title, looks at the two of them.
“ I want this to be my final mission. Find out the identity of those who tried to kill me, their true motives and to stop them and whatever plan they may have. “
Palkia wide eyed turns to him, in pure shock that the gecko had been perked up by this one vision, this change of pace after nearly actually being killed, usually, they’d give up and sulk for weeks following another attempt at dying like that. They’re.. proud. But now that they’re free of anomalies, Celebi can see deep into the future thanks to being with Dialga so much on their travels. They approach the Gecko and place their hands on them, telepathically telling the gecko to think and visualize of the vision. And he does so.
It takes a few minutes, everyone standing their in silence, Savras goes wide eyes as another vision begins... The vision is of him bleeding out over a sunrise, a nearby forest is burned down, and the bodies of the rogues limp towards him, disfigured but alive, They aren’t pokemon he’s ever seen before. But they’re familiar, he’s sworn he saw them trying to drown him. But then, another Grovyle comes out and attacks one of them, they’re heavily scarred, wearing a pendant that glows a violet, as he strikes down one of them with a claw-like leaf blade.
The sky above them had, in the vision, had turned a dark blue, storms rising as something had opened up a portal, letting out an ear piercing screech as everything goes black on the telepathic connection between Celebi and Savras. Palkia, Dialga, and Arceus were all subject to this new vision, and Palkia is the first to audibly sigh, he turns to the visibly distressed Celebi, and the shocked to all hell Savras that falls back, this was.. it wasn’t any pokemon he’d ever seen before, he didn’t even get a good look at them, they were blurry, like the vision was HIM, in the future, nearly passing out from the blood loss.
“ Was that--- “
[ “ Another you. Yes. This is fate, i suppose. “ ]
Dialga quickly butts in, confused and deeply concerned for what is about to befall them.
( “ Unfortunately the vision cut out before it gave us too much information. Though I have a feeling that I know what Timeline you should head to. “ )
Palkia nods, and Arceus stares at the gecko, reading their mind, not literally, but in a metaphorical sort of way, they’re wanting to help save against this new being, that seems like something they’d never seen before. Maybe they will see in due time. Dialga seems to know exactly the timeline that was in the vision, as they begin to open it up. Celebi butts in, eager to put in their two cents to the gecko. They heard the name, so they’re going to use it.
|”No! You’re not going in there alone, I’m coming with, we’ll have one more grand adventure, you hear me, Savras? “ |
“ You know what? We will. Just like old times sake. Dialga, Palkia---Arceus. I’ll keep in contact with you. I’ll make sure to go to the Passage of Time just in case other passageways back here get locked off. “
The Gods of Space and Time nod their heads, helping each other open a portal to another timeline, exact time and location out of the question, but it looks to be the most pretty version of Treeshroud Forest he’s EVER seen in his entire life, As a precaution, Arceus summons a sigil for the Grovyle, hooking it to the pendant given to him by Palkia, and locks it in tightly. They won’t explain what it is just yet, but something tells him that they’ll need it in due time, either to help himself and Celebi, or the others viewed in the vision.
( “ You two be safe. I don’t want to be dragging you two out of a bad situation, but this portal is now ready. You may leave as you like. Oh--before you leave, Savras. Please do be careful, don’t strain yourself. “ )
“I won’t don’t worry, I promise. If I do, you have every right to drag me back here.”
Savras, alongside Celebi, turn to face the Creation Trio, waving to them before stepping through the portal as it closes around them. They land safely in a large field in the middle of nowhere, it’s a flower field, and Savras sneezes immediately, Celebi laughing in tandem before the gecko bursts out into laughter as well, He knows they have a mission to accomplish, but, they need to get acclimated and adjusted to this timeline, and as celebi said--their last grand adventure awaits them. He’ll do this, he can do this.. Maybe he should find that other Grovyle that saved his life in the vision? Do they have a Celebi, too? They just wonder.
What has he gotten himself into...?
