TCB PRESENTS A NEW ART EXHIBITION FROM THE ARTIST MRS. MAIDELINE HOOI MARTIJN

Kralendijk (August 29th, 2018) –  The reception area of Tourism Corporation Bonaire is converted once again in an art exhibition, this is the tenth time that art is being showcased. The gallery is a showcase for local artists who wish to showcase their artwork. We always receive positive feedback from both tourists as well as locals who visit TCB. After the exhibition of the painter of the artworks “Portraits of Bonaire”, Mr. Henk Roozendaal which was the first artist, followed Mrs. Monica Liliana Trujillo, Mr. Adi Figaroa, Mrs. Riet Sealy and Mrs. Agnes Joosten, Mr. Fransico Uty Melaan, Mrs. Mamita Fox, Miss. Virgy Balentin, Mrs. Rosalba Figaroa and Mr. Nochi Coffie now we welcome Mrs. Maideline Hooi Martijn better known by her artistic name Mai-Dy.

Mrs. Maideline Hooi Martijn was born in Curacao in 1975 and started exploring art from the age of 19 in the form of mimicking, acting, dancing and creative writing.

During recovery of a surgery Mai-Dy discovered her love for plastic art and started expressing herself in painting. This passion continued to grow and in the month of June 2017, Mai-Dy started taking painting lessons with acrylic paint from the artist Adi Figaroa.

During a period of one year she participated in three different exhibitions with different local and international artists. The art of Mai-Dy is primarily focused on the treasures of Bonaire that you can see in the traditional Bonairean houses, flora and fauna.

  Kralendijk (29 augustus 2018) –  De receptie van Tourism Corporation Bonaire is weer omgezet in een kunsttentoonstelling, dit voor de tiende keer. De galerie is een showcase voor lokale kunstenaars die hun kunstwerk willen laten zien. Wij krijgen altijd positieve feedback zowel van toeristen als van de lokale bevolking die TCB bezoeken. Na de tentoonstelling van de schilder van de kunstwerken “Portraits of Bonaire”, dhr. Henk Roozendaal die de eerste artiest was, volgde mvr. Monica Liliana Trujillo, dhr. Adi Figaroa, mvr. Riet Sealy en mvr. Agnes Joosten, dhr. Fransico Uty Melaan, mvr. Mamita Fox, mej. Virgy Balentin, mvr. Rosalba Figaroa, dhr. Nochi Coffie en nu verwelkomen we mvr. Maideline Hooi Martijn beter bekend onder haar artistieke naam Mai-Dy.

Mvr. Maideline Hooi Martijn werd geboren in Curaçao in 1975 en begon vanaf 19-jarige leeftijd kunst te onderzoeken in de vorm van nabootsen, acteren, dansen en creatief schrijven.

Tijdens haae herstel van een operatie ontdekte Mai-Dy haar liefde voor plastische kunst en begon zichzelf uit te drukken in de schilderkunst. Deze passie bleef groeien en in de maand juni 2017 begon Mai-Dy schilderlessen te nemen met acrylverf van de kunstenaar Adi Figaroa.

Gedurende een periode van een jaar nam ze deel aan drie verschillende tentoonstellingen met verschillende lokale en internationale artiesten. De kunst van Mai-Dy is vooral gericht op de schatten van Bonaire die u kunt zien in de traditionele Bonaire-huizen, flora en fauna.
