I forgot how to make posts, but don’t worry guys, I’m still alive-
Tumblr media
Ghostly Assistance
Heyyy! I finally drew Leaf! (Plus a slight Aster redesign-) This took way too long, and I apologize for the delay and the overall messiness. She had been sitting in my drawing program as a sketch for two months 😅 but with the Flashbacks up starting in Missing Numbers, I finally got the will to finish it!
Leaf Aoyama belongs to @creatively-cosmic. They have a blog called @themissingnumbers, which you should check out, like—right now.
[Sketch + Extras below the cut!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here’s the cover of the book, if you wanted that- (I know it’s crap but I’m tired)
Tumblr media
[And for those who are curious, some notes about the art:
-The book is Aster’s. He’s read the book cover to cover well over 25 times. It’s his favorite book on flowers, but he’s more than happy to lend it to someone who wants to learn about flora.
-The content of the art (because there was intended to be a background that got scrapped-) is that Aster was showing Leaf around his secret garden deep in the woods, guiding her so that she wouldn’t get lost and showing her the different flowers and such. (That’s why she has the book-)
-You know how in some video games, you can press a button and whatever special companion you have will show up to give you a hint? (Ex: Navi, Fi, Rotom, Olivia, etc) That’s what Aster is doing right now. Whenever Leaf had a question—he had the answers.
-And if you’re wondering—Yes. Aster did make her a flower crown afterwards. And Yes, he thinks she looks very beautiful with flowers in her hair.]

Arven x Female Reader: Academy Prom
The entire academy is holding a prom. Everybody and their Pokémon are enjoying themselves. Pretty much the whole academy was focused on you and Arven. Cute cuddles near ending.
You were getting yourself and your female Mabosstiff, Barkley, ready for the Academy Prom. You were wearing a navy blue dress and Barkley had a bow atop her head. You were hoping to see Arven and his Mabosstiff attend the prom. But when you and Barkley showed up at the battlefield (where the prom was being held), you couldn’t see them anywhere among all the students and their Pokémon. That’s when you see Nemona and her Pawmot. “Nemona, have you seen Arven and Mabosstiff anywhere?” you asked her. “No,” Nemona said, “but hopefully they show up soon.”
Meanwhile, Arven was standing behind the doors with Director Clavell requesting a certain song for him and you to dance to. “Of course, Master Arven,” Clavell said, “we will also provide our special lights for the song. I will even play some other romantic songs for you two.” “Thank you, Director.” Arven said, straightening out his tie. Clavell nods and says, “Have a good time, Master Arven.”
Just then, the regular lights around the field went out. “What’s going on?” Penny asks. “It’s dark out here!” Nemona said. “Did we lose power or something?” a random student asked. “You still around, Barkley?” you called. “Boff!!” Barkley replied, still next to you.
Then the requested song, ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ by Savage Garden, started to play. “Aww, this is my favorite song!” you exclaim. Just then, a spotlight, along with some blue and green lights, come on. And right in front of you stood a sharply dressed Arven, holding his hand out to take yours. Everybody around the field cheered and clapped as you gracefully took Arven’s hand in yours after 10 seconds of your amazement and you both started to dance.
“You did this for me?” you asked Arven with a gentle smile. Arven caresses your jawline as he stares lovingly into your eyes. “I did it for us, darling.” he said. You rested your head against Arven’s chest as you both continued dancing. That’s when you feel his lips pressed on to the top of your head. Then you hear everybody on the field go, “AWWWW!!!!” at the little action. You blushed. Then you feel tears falling on your head. You look up to see Arven with tears streaming from his eyes. Sweet little tears of joy. “I love you, (Y/N)!” he says with a shaky breath. You wipe a tear away with your thumb and say, “I love you, too, Arven!” You and Arven hugged each other tight; his face in your shoulder.
Everybody around clapped as their Rotom Phones were floating in the air and snapping pics of you and Arven together. “Oh, they’re so cute together.” Nemona said. “Look at both their Mabosstiff together.” Penny said, pointing at Arven’s Mabosstiff and your Barkley nuzzled together and watching their trainers dancing and hugging each other.
Sometime later, you and Arven and both your Pokémon went back to his dorm room and went to cuddle on the bed. Arven looked into your shining (e/c) eyes and, in about thirty seconds, he kisses your lips. You return the kiss, running a hand through his long, wavy, blonde hair. Arven ran a hand slowly through your (h/c) hair, too. You two had spent the night together in Arven’s room after such a romantic night.
If anybody has a talented hand in artwork, please share in my inbox some drawings of Arven in a suit and Juliana in a dress. Thank you!

Meriel's auburn hair is lush and rounded and every little tilt of her head sends out this infuriating floral scent that I can't identify. I associate the smell with miserable pining. Roi's pokeball in my pocket feels familiar. Roi and Meriel were a big part of my life in Kalos and I gave all of that up running away to Alola. 100,000 pen will break my account, but I can cover it. Walking away from Meriel might be worth it, but the cowardice wouldn't. I need to face my fear so I can face the future.
Standing, I do my best to appear composed, even while I'm terrified and dirty. "I need to get pokemon out of storage."
Meriel holds up one of those rotom-phones. They make me feel sick. Her teasing smile makes me wanna chuckle and settle down beside her. "You really don't have one?"
I hold out a PokeTech X. "I'll return on my honor as a Duke."
She giggles. Her red cheeks gives a her vibrant glow.
I get out of there quick, having no idea what pokemon she's planning to use.

There's an arena out back. Pedestrians from the street level can view the battle from a railing and guests can turn and watch while they enjoy their meal. It's not a Pokemon League Stadium, but it's the biggest audience I've had in almost seven years. Not since Spiral killed Fission have I had a full audience to witness my defeat.
Meriel readies her first ultraball and the sight of it confirms my fears, she isn't using her Audinos. This could be anything. The black and yellow pattern spins under her fingers. A sanded down skyblue ball enlarges in my hand. She sends out the ball like a dealt card. I toss my greatball high and out by releasing my grip as my hand arcs up.
On her side is a navy blue Meowstic, a spry looking male. An Alola tested Gengar comes out on my side. Not a mismatch by any means but we're committing to a shoot out. Super effective attacks can kill.
Expecting me to attack, she calls out, "Sucker punch."
"Taunt."
Sorrowfell the Gengar pulls down her face, showing off her teeth and infuriating the Meowstic into losing her composure. Sorrowfell outspeeds the Meowstic and turns his white fur gray from the blast of her shadowball. A psybeam comes out a tears a line through Sorrowfell's cheek. The nasty monster uses her claws to extend the opening, showing off the wound with pride. Meowstic shakes as he gets back on his paws.
I want to Meriel to call him back, but it's obvious she won't. Another attack is going to come and if Sorr survives the suckerpunch, that Meowstic is gonna end up gray, shriveled, and lifeless. The Meowstic rushes forward to perform a suckerpunch and finds a body of energy in my Gengar's place. The recall might be bad tactics, but I don't want to risk the Meowstic's life. Instead I throw out my Shiinotic and everything feels distant. My grass attack finishes the Meowstic, but an Aurorus follows. A quick blizzard Aurorus, the supposed counterpart to Tyrantrum. Meriel knows it's a bad matchup because I've ranted about ice's weakness at length.
I worry about his super effective Head Smash breaking the Aurorus's bones, but there's no hesitation in me or Roi. I'm shouting "Head Smash" and he's shattering ice crystals. It's a familiar rhythm that takes me back to my earliest days of fighting in Kalos.

I'd won. Roi had smashed his way through eight opponents and I was firmly in the rank of Duke. Pride eluded me. When I looked inside all I felt was fear. Finding the Battle Chateau had been a blessing. I'd found this surefire way to pick up big pay outs so that I could advance faster than Spiral and take the seat of Champion, but my heads were shaking. I went outside to puke and only found tears.
Fission was dead because of me. He'd been using self destruct for over a year and I never thought about the toll it took on his body. Spiral exploited that weakness and Fission wasn't the only one to die. League fights were serious business. Trainers and pokemon pushed each other to their limits, but it was always the pokemon who suffered.
Meriel found me keening. She outside on a smoke break. It was an odd thing to see a woman so refined and beautiful smoking, but I found it welcoming and honest. She listened to me tell my story through my tears and I admitted to her that I was scared to become the champion.
"My reign as Elite four ended with four deaths. Four! That should've been enough to make me quit, but I didn't. I kept fighting, kept grinding, kept breeding--breeding until I dreamed about eggs and bikes and I hated every minute of it, but I wouldn't stop. I had to win and my Garchomp suffered for it! He's dead because of that damn Sylveon! I have to be strong enough to get my revenge. I have to! This Tyrantrum isn't going to be enough. None of this is going to be enough to make me Champion."
Meriel stayed close enough for me to feel her warmth and wisps of her cigarette wafted into my nose. My rage was selfish as it was disturbing, but she wasn't scared. If anything she looked contemplative.
"So what if you're not Champion?"
"Then all of this was for nothing! Then all of my training, all of the months of breeding was for nothing!"
"And?"
"And? AND???"
"So you're not Champion, who cares?"
"Who cares? If I'm not Champion then I'm nothing!"
"Those are your only options, be champion or disappear into obscurity?"
"What other option is there? I spend my life stuck in the Battle Chateau smacking around Audinos?!" I said with contempt because I forgot that Meriel was one of the Audino users I had trounced. "I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I know that my Audinos aren't going to win me any tournaments or ribbons."
"Then why do you do it? How can you be happy training weak pokemon?"
"I imagine that it's probably the same reason that you've been using that Tyrantrum. I like them. Audinos are nice. They're warm and personable and they help me clean up my apartment. I never have to worry about them being irresponsible or wreckless. When I come home too drunk they can take care of me and put themselves in a pokeball. How many Elite Four pokemon can do the same thing?"
"Maybe an Alakazem," I said postulating the effort needed to train them.
Meriel arched an annoyed brow, but she was also smiling. "You like being difficult don't you?"
"I don't try to be difficult. I want to be thorough. Maybe that's why being champion is so important to me."
"I don't think it is," she said gently. "You've spent the past two weeks doing nothing but accumulating wins at the battle chateau and sleeping alone at some hotel an hour's fly away. If being the champion is so important why are you still here? What if you let go of all of that and stayed?"
"Why so I can be a stepping stone for Spiral and Cynthia and all of the other Champions?"
"My pokemon don't die here. My life is stable. I don't worry about tomorrow. I might be a stepping stone in the career of great trainers, but I'm happy. When was the last time you were happy?"
"Never," I confessed.
Smiling, she waited for me to come to a perfectly reasonable conclusion. It was time for me to leave that hotel and find more permanent living conditions.

Meriel's Audino drops. She's battered and bruised, but Spice the Audino is gonna be okay. She knows how to take a Head Smash without getting seriously hurt. Spice had fought Roi for years. They were practically friends at one point. Meriel recalls the pokemon and thanks Spice with a kiss on the ball.
I approach to talk to her, but her boyfriend walks up to rub her shoulders. She thanks him with a kiss too. I' knew I'd've always lacked something that Meriel needs out a relationship and for some reason seeing them kiss gives me a glimpse of that. It isn't that he's handsome or fit, but it's that's he's patient and supportive. He's there for her without offering suggestions about how to improve because Meriel is content with her life. I still can't find that peace.
"Thanks for the match," I tell Meriel. With a swipe of my trainer ID over her rotom-phone, she pays me for a victory that feels like a loss.
"You've changed," she says with a smile.
It makes me blush with shame and hide my eyes. "Yeah, my fighting has gotten less creative."
"Maybe but it's more compassionate. Why don't you stay with us and have drinks?"
"I wouldn't mind," says her boyfriend.
"No, I uh," I swallow back the threat of tears. "I need to fly over to Slateport. I'm looking for a psychic entertainer named Esther Flowne. Do you know her?"
She shakes her head. "No, sorry. All of my psychic knowhow I picked up from Olympia. We're only here until the league finalizes things in Paldea."
"It's gonna be great! I heard they're working on a new evolution!"
First mega, then dynamax and now something worse. The possibility should've made me nauseous, but I was too focused on every microscopic change in Meriel's expression. Another group of guests were approaching the stadium and so we walked back over to the dinning area inside.
Meriel and her boyfriend went to sit and I steeled myself to make a respectable goodbye. My always processing brain wouldn't allow my thoughts to move on.
"I know I've said this before," I mumbled. "But I really am sorry for making things awkward at the Battle Chateau."
"You didn't, ASH. I knew that you liked me."
"Then why were so nice to me?"
"Because it never bothered me and I knew you weren't the kind of guy who would try to hurt me. You're not a Raticate from Fuschia City. You need to stop punishing yourself for what you had to do in order to survive."
I'm able to nod, bow, and wave goodbye, but I can't find any words after that. Meriel knows me too well. By repeating a single metaphor I'd once used to represent myself, she's cut to the heart of my pain. I make it outside and cry. @trainerspiral #closedRP #pokemonOC

jett lives in a (one room bigger than psy’s) one story house with his mom and her dog, kevin. his 29 year old brother’s room was turned into a craft room when he moved out
tate currently lives in a dorm on campus with a roommate that hates him, but at home he’s with his mom and dad and 26 year old sister in a two story house

Pokemon trainer peter please 🥰🥰🥰🥰💃🕺💃
I'll admit, I was ill-prepared for this prompt. Hahaha. I don't actually know all that much about Pokemon but I was able to employ my teenagers for some assistance in the matter. All in all, I think I did a pretty okay job of setting up a Pokemon AU in this mini-fic. (should anyone wish to adopt/continue it, they are more than welcome to!)
Anyway, here it is at just under the 1k limit. 797 words!
Rotom Round-Up
“Ah, there you are. My last appointment of the day,” Professor Stark said as Peter stepped into his office. “And here I thought you weren’t going to show up.”
“Sorry, sir,” Peter sheepishly stated. He’d only been three minutes late but it felt as though he’d left the professor waiting for hours.
“Eh. No need to apologize, Mr. Parker. The point is, you’re here now,” Stark replied with a flippant wave of his hand. “Have you put any thought into which Pokémon you’ll choose to accompany you on your journey?”
Peter perked up at the question “Yeah!,” he happily replied. He’d given it a lot of thought. Years worth of thought. He’d been studying Pokémon at a near-university level for the last several years. He knew the pros and cons of every single option. He opened his mouth to say as much, but the professor was already talking over him.
“Great. In that case, let’s get started,” he said, pulling three pokéballs out of his pocket and releasing the Pokémon inside one by one. “Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott. What’s your fancy, Kiddo?”
Peter watched in awe as the three small Pokémon danced in front of them. Then a small movement in the corner of the room grabbed his attention. It was the most adorable Tarountula he’s ever seen. Rather than its usual white and green, it was a combination of deep red and navy blue. “A shiny!” he gasped, the words, escaping his mouth before he could stop them.
“What?” Stark questioned, looking between Peter and the three standard Pokémon. “I thought you said you’d done your research, Kid. None of these are shiny.”
“No,” Peter replied, with a shake of his head. “That one. The bug type, that looks like a round little spider! It’s shiny! Can I have that one?”
The professor’s gaze followed Peter’s eagerly pointing finger until it fell onto the red and blue Tarountula at the end room. “Oh.That guy,” he said thoughtfully. “Yeah, that’s not a starter, kid. You should know that.”
“I do!” Peter eagerly returned. “But he could be, right? I mean for the right trainer. Maybe that’s me. They’re my favorite, and I know all about them. I can tell you whatever you want.”
“Look, kid,” Tony sighed, his fingers moving upward to pinch the bridge of his nose. “I’m not handing over a shiny Tarountula to a brand new trainer.” A beat passed, then he added a dubious, “Unless.”
“Unless what?” Peter implored.
“Well, if you’re as smart as you say you are, maybe you could help me out with something I’ve got going on in the lab,” he said. “If you prove yourself useful, the Tarountula can be all yours.”
“What do I have to do?” Peter asked, barely containing his excitement. He couldn’t believe he was being invited into Professor Stark’s lab.
Tony hummed and waved Peter though a pair of heavy metal doors and into a huge sprawling laboratory. There were machines everywhere and scattered around them were dozens of spark-like Rotoms. His mouth gaped open as they zipped around the room.
“Yeah,” Tony sighed. “So, as you can see, I’ve got something of a problem. All thirty-four Rotoms that were being stored here, were inadvertently released early this morning. I’ve managed to contain eleven of them myself. But I’m a busy man. Think you could find the other twenty-three?”
“By myself?” Peter asked.
The professor tilted his head to the side clicked his tongue. “Not completely,” he wavered, then whistled until a large robotic looking Pokémon joined him by his side. “My buddy, here, DUM-E could help you.”
“Oh wow!” Peter exclaimed, reaching out to pat the Pokémon on the head. “That’s the biggest Magneton I’ve ever seen!”
“I know,” Tony smirked as he threw open a cabinet full of trainer supplies. “Anyway, I’ve got things to do. Here’re your pokéballs. Come find me when you’re done,” he said all in one breath. “Or when you give up. Whichever happens first.”
Peter accepted the large bag of pokéballs and grinned. “I’ve got this sir!” he said. “Come on DUM-E! Let’s go!”
The first six were easy to catch. The next four were a bit more difficult. However, he still had thirteen more to go. The problem was that Rotoms were known for being mischievous. Perhaps more so for their ability to take over appliances, thus changing their abilities. And, oh boy, there were a lot of appliances within the professor's lab.
“What do you think DUM-E? Where else can we look?” Peter asked after making his way around the lab at least three times.
The Magneton brought them into the breakroom and hovered near the microwave and refrigerator.
“Got it,” Peter replied, knowing exactly what his new friend was implying. He could see the Rotoms taunting smiles within the appliances and readied his next pokeball.
“Where to next, DUM-E?” he asked once he’d successfully captured those two.
DUM-E happily ushed him into another area where Peter caught three more. And from there, he followed DUM-E around the room until they had tracked down all the remaining Rotoms. When he was sure he was done, he triumphantly carried himself over to where the professor was working.
“You’re done?” Stark dubiously inquired. Peter nodded his head. “Already?”
“DUM-E and I make a good team,” Peter shrugged. “Can I have the Tarountula now?”
The professor chuckled, fondly shook his head. “Sure, Kid. He’s all yours,” he said, as he led Peter over to where the waiting Tarountula. “What are you going to call him?”
Peter laughed as the Pokémon happily climbed from his arm to his shoulder and then up to the top of his head. “I think-” he said, pausing as he gave the nickname some added thought. Then he smiled broadly and encouraged the Tarountula to drop down into his hands. “I’ll call him Spidey”

I love so much about Sun/Moon but everytime I think about it the first thing I remember is that Rotom Pokedex constantly telling you about your next objective and like I loved Navi but this was the thing that broke me I hate that Pokedex they should never have learned to speak.
But my boy Guzma and Lillie etc I love them, I should've cherished it more in hindsight since it was the last gen before the Switch ones.
Yeah, while I do have some smaller critiques about Sun and Moon there's only one thing I think is massively holding it back, and the Rotom dex telling you where to go is a symptom of it. I'll go into more detail on that later.
That said, I found the dex itself pretty easy to ignore most of the time since it's on the bottom screen.

Bzzt! The following recording was taken by [Javascript the Rotom] from an [Applin iPhone 14 Pro]!
[Video ID: At the two ends of a recreational battlefield in Alamos stands a young man with black hair; his navy roots are in dire need of a touch up. On his side of the field is a Poison type Silvally and a Toxtricity. His opponent is a young woman around the same age who resembles him slightly, with the same tan skin, straight black hair, and bright green eyes; on her side of the field is a Galarian Rapidash and a Morpeko. Two final people stand in the middle of the battlefield, one looking a few years older than the first two, and the other being a young boy. The older one shouts for the battle to begin, then he and the boy make their ways off the field. The two trainers call out their attacks and the battle begins. Much of the battle is obscured by smoke and dust from the attacks but everybody is clearly enjoying themselves; once the dust clears it is found to be a tie.] [Image ID: The same four people from the video are taking a selfie. Up close, it can be seen that the first trainer was Aspen and the other was his cousin, Devi. The other two people are Aspen's elder brother, Suriya, who is taking the photo, and the young boy appears to be Devi's younger sibling, Jai. Devi holds a Darkrai themed bubble tea in her hands, while Aspen appears to have been caught off guard by the photo, in the middle of burning his tongue on sipping some hot tea.] [Image ID: A mirror selfie of Aspen in a fitting room. He's wearing an outfit reminiscent of Kalosian furisode girls, but with some inspiration from Darkrai; it's mostly black, but has blue accents, and he's wearing a necklace with a red pendant. He looks a bit shy about the outfit, but is smiling nonetheless and is giving a thumbs up.]

This may be controversial, but sometimes I also feel they should also kick out navi rotom
Logistically it makes sense for recent Pokemon games to make the Pokedex a phone app instead of needing to carry around a whole second device. But that's also boring. Bring back my boy.

RotomDex lighten tf up dude. Not every entry in your encyclopedia has to be about how a Pokémon kills its food, or how dangerous it is to itself and everyone around it, or how it will die a gruesome and horrible death if you don't treat it EXACTLY THE RIGHT WAY. Sod off.
