Speaking of beautiful in my previous post, I recently gave my good friend , @seagullrunning and his @runnersoftheworldofficial community with runners all over the world a running tour of the city I grew up in, New York City. The long run is definitely my favorite way to explore cities when I’m traveling. I still remember @pineapple.yogi and I were able to hit all the sights in London one morning and by the time the tour groups started to head out the door we were already having our English breakfast. 出了公园，看到残破的���壁，这里就是天花医院Smallpox Memorial Hospital的遗址。陈旧破败的外观再加上传染病医院的名号，画风立马改变---刚才还风和日丽，现在立马觉得阴风飒飒。房子被锁在围栏里，断瓦残垣，也确实相当危险，只剩一些没有支撑的墙体，似乎一根手指都能推倒。医院面向曼哈顿的正面还看得出哥特式建筑的影子，这也是大多照片取景的位置。

天花医院遗址

岛屿的最南端就是罗斯福公园Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park，有讲解员，要在下午4点前进入才有讲解。公园依据岛屿末端的形状设计，高地上一块三角形的广场，中间是绿地，两旁是紧密的亮绿色的行道树，叶子刚长出来时是最美好的景致。岛屿南端的尽头是罗斯福塑像，背面是他在二战时期发表的Freedoms的名言，所以这个公园也叫做Four Freedoms Park。站在南端的平台上望去，远处就是曼哈顿大桥，近处的水域有两座小岛，当然是小到不能修房子，算是礁石吧。右边高楼林立，联合国大厦就在岛屿末端的右前方；左边Queens区相对则空旷一些---因为高楼就那么“几栋”，集中在Queensboro大桥延伸方向上的区域和面向联合国大楼区域的江边上，倒是对岸红色的百事可乐广告标志醒目了然，那里是一个公园，也是一个取景之地。

回转，沿着岛屿北上，沿途就是欣赏曼哈顿的风景。在岛屿的西面有一条樱花大道，在康奈尔大学的主楼旁边。四月下旬的天气去往这里正好，花团锦簇，粉红世界，有水有桥，终于像想象中的桃花岛了。树下安放有长椅，可以让你在梦幻世界中欣赏对岸曼哈顿的繁华，绝对的诗情画意之地。

樱花大道

有带摄影师过来拍艺术照的美眉，穿着礼服，摆着各种风姿卓绝的姿势；也有爬到树干上坐着摆拍的女子（注意，可不是中国大妈，爬树攀枝的不文明行为世界各地都有，只是媒体故意渲染，说得好像只有中国大妈没素质一样）；还有拿着长焦镜头拍景的摄影爱好者……大人孩子在这里都是无比喜悦。

春天就是生长的季节。
