The Taylor Swift/folklore album coming of age story breakdown for Caroline that no one asked for but I’m giving anyway.
Okay, so I’m OBESSESSED with Taylor Swift’s new album. I do not think I’ve listened to anything else since it came out. It feels like a giant coming of age story for Caroline and how it leads her to Klaus; and their forever.
So, my brain developed an entire plot bunny based around the songs. I’m going to share it with you knowing I’ll never write it (meaning its free game for anyone who wants this idea). Now, I’m taking the songs out of order on the album.
Starts after season 4 of TVD- except Klaus never left for NOLA and no magic baby (just would not work for what I have planned). Also, Liz was killed by Silas.
The story starts the summer after their senior year of high school.
So let's get started......
seven
It begins here. This part will show where Caroline is right now. Stefan is gone (Silas really is dead, and Stefan is soul searching). Damon and Elena are shaking up, which is SUPER hard for Caroline to see. Tyler is off with a werewolf pack again, trying to lick his wounds from his other back being slaughtered. Bonnie is dead-which everyone knows about.
Caroline is alone and struggling with mourning Bonnie and her mother, Tyler once again leaving, Matts off with Rebekah and Elena being with Damon.
This part of the story would be looking back to her childhood and wondering if college is what she wants. Caroline is questioning everything and what eternity has in store for her.
mirrorball
Caroline goes out to a club or bar just outside of town. She runs into Klaus and they have a night where they dance. They have a good time and Caroline is reminded about the good side of Klaus. He shows her parts of herself that she buried deep down inside. They laugh and for a moment, the grief, pain and loneliness melts away. He shows her the good parts of vampirism that she denied herself.
It’s the beginning of the end in many ways.
august
Their affair begins here. They have the summer of their lives. No one pays any attention to what Caroline is doing because everyone is gone except Elena; but she is so focused on Damon. Klaus and Caroline find a moment of peace together, but Caroline is counting down to it ending. Summer is coming to an end and Tyler called her. She is to start college soon but still so unsure what to do. In the end, the guilt of her feelings for Klaus catch up to her and she ends it.
Elena and Caroline go to college, rooming together; but Caroline cannot get Klaus out of her mind.
hoax
Klaus is fighting for Caroline to give him a real chance. Caroline keeps holding off, but she knows she wants him; but is terrified of what Elena and Tyler would say. Tyler is back and wants to resume a relationship with her. She knows that Klaus loves her. She has known that for a long time. Its her feelings that she hasn’t figured out. She feels that she is twisting a knife in Elena’s and Tyler’s back: but at the same time, they constantly hurt her by leaving (Tyler) and being with Damon (Elena).
But Caroline cannot make a decision.
So, she goes to him one night and they have sex.
illicit affairs
They are sleeping together regularly but hiding it. His family, who are all are back, and her friends have no idea. She is in a relationship with Tyler but sleeping with Klaus on the side. It’s a mess and she knows that it is wrong, but she is at the point where she can’t give him up. She does little things for him and he makes her feel happy.
This goes on for months.
It doesn’t end until Tyler catches them in bed together.
mad woman
Here is where shit hits the fan. Caroline is being pulled in a thousand directions. Tyler is pissed and hurt, which Caroline knows is a legitimate reaction. Elena is playing the victim, not believing that Caroline would sleep with Klaus. Klaus wants her to full commit to him. Caroline feels that she is at war with everyone.
She goes on the defensive and serves some just truths here. She tells Elena exactly how it feels to watch her with Damon. She tells Tyler how hurt she feels because she was always put second best with him. She points fingers and it makes pretty much everything worse.
She even gets into an argument with Klaus; who cannot fathom what she is feeling right now.
epiphany
It’s Matt who calms her down. He tells her that, yes, he is disappointed that she slept with Klaus but not because he is “Klaus” but because she didn’t end things with Tyler first. He points out why Elena would be hurt by Caroline being with Klaus, because he killed her and Jenna. Klaus is Elena’s monster, but also understands that Damon is Caroline’s. It was a slap in the face but something Caroline needed to hear.
She realizes here that she needs to sort out her life. That she is in the rut that is suffocating her in a way that she cannot handle. She has an epiphany and realizes that she is not meant for that small town anymore; and that she needs out.
That she needs to figure out what she wants out of life and not do everything that is expected of her.
The first thing she does is drop out of university.
The second was to sell her house.
my tears ricochet
This is Tyler’s goodbye. He is demonizing her to high heaven for sleeping with the man who killed 12 of his friends and his mother. He is making her out to be a villain and Caroline cannot blame him. The conversation is bad. The fight and they both say a bunch of hurtful things to each other. Caroline knows she messed up and is sorry for it; but she refuses to wish it never happened. It taught her so much of herself that she cannot apologize for it.
She promised Tyler that she did love him but it just wasn’t enough. They end things on VERY bad terms.
Caroline understands that her relationship with Tyler was never going to be the same.
betty
Next is Elena. This goodbye goes better. It is heartfelt and sad. Matt gave Elena the same talk he did Caroline. Caroline tells Elena that the worse thing she had ever done was betraying her friend with Klaus but like she said with Tyler, she does not regret it.
Elena is not ready to forgive Caroline; but neither is Caroline ready to forgive Elena for Damon.
They part ways with broken hearts but a mutual understanding that maybe one day they could be friends again.
exile
This is Klaus’s goodbye. She loves him and tells him so. She just isn’t ready to be his forever yet. They fight and they cry. They have sex but it is that broken goodbye sex that ends in empty feelings and heart ache.
She grabs the things that she had left behind at his place. She does not know what is going to happen from here but she knows that she has so many things to figure out for herself.
Klaus lets her go with a promise of forever when she is ready; even though he is bitter about it.
Caroline leaves Mystic Falls, exiling herself to the unknown.
this is me trying
The first few months are hard. She roams around the US for a good while, driving from state to state. She learns more about being a vampire on her own and just lives. She starts writing in a journal but its more of a long love letter to Klaus. It’s the stories of where she has been where she is going. This is the most painful time for Caroline because she feels absolutely alone.
Then she runs into Stefan. They have a heart to heart about Damon, Elena, Klaus and Tyler. It really puts everything into perspective for Caroline. She learns that Klaus left Mystic Falls and moved to NOLA with his family. She continues to write in that journal and slowly is coming to terms with everything she had felt.
She slowly begins to heal.
cardigan
This is where Caroline really comes to terms with Klaus and how he made her feel. He made her feel strong and loved. Everyone called her a fool for falling in love with him, but she knew him. She knew a side to him that no one else did. She felt passion, love and what it meant to be wanted.
She looks at all the things she had taken with her when she fled. She remembers the moments during that summer together that she would cherish. She no longer looks back on Mystic Falls as a time of pain and regret. She no longer feels the stab of pain thinking on Tyler and Elena.
She starts to feel happiness again.
the last great American dynasty
She ends up in Rhode Island and finds a house for sale. It has this rich story behind it about a woman who loved a man so much it killed him. Turns out the woman was Rebekah, as in Klaus’s sister and a tragic tale of one of her many lost loves. Caroline takes this as a sign that she is meant to have this old house. She buys it (having the money from the house she sold in Mystic Falls).
The house is in disrepair and she fixes it up. She thinks back on the time that she had an affair with Klaus and how much she misses him.
When the house is completed, she pulls out that old journal and reads. She begins to plan for a future, knowing that Klaus would be apart of it.
the 1
Caroline realizes that Klaus is the one. She loves him in an epic love she always dreamed about. She thinks on him fondly and the memories they shared. She learns snippets from Stefan about what Klaus is up to. He ran into him while passing through NOLA. She learns about the bartender Cami and that Klaus had a weird infatuation with her. Its not love, Stefan assures her but the thought that he moved on still stings.
On a whim, wondering if he would respond; Caroline sends him the journal filled with love letters; a specific one at the end saying that she is ready for forever.
Then she waits.
peace
Klaus shows up at the house in Rhode Island. They know that its not going to be perfect. They have a massive heart to heart about what they want and what it means. Klaus vows that Cami was nothing more than a distraction while Caroline promises that she is ready to take that leap.
She does not care what anyone things anymore.
She lets Elena fall in love with Damon; not caring if Elena is betrayed by her falling in love with Klaus.
She lets Tyler run wild with his wolves; not caring if he hates her now for falling in love with Klaus.
Klaus offers her forever and she gladly takes his hand. She never sells that house and they come back to it, making it a home base for them from time to time.
He takes her across the globe; Paris, Rome and Tokyo...and so much more.
Caroline hands over her heart to him....and finds peace in that.
invisible string
Fast forward 100 years. Klaus and Caroline are still together. They have connected in a way that Caroline never felt in previous relationships. They look back on their life together; reciting how it began and how it has come so far.
They love, laugh and enjoy life the best they can; making plans for the next 100 years.

A definitive ranking of DWTS Season 29′s celebrities thus far
So I'm obsessed with Dancing with the Stars as much as the next guy. I’ve seen every season since number 11, when I was like 9 years old. But I dropped off a few seasons ago, disappointed that they really had the nerve to put the legend Lindsey Stirling on the same season as the other legend Jordan Fisher. That was not fair to anyone, because Lindsey would have wiped the floor in literally any other season.
But Season 29′s cast was released and I got excited again. About 80% of these names I was not only familiar with, but were people I enjoyed for some reason or another. Skai Jackson, Nelly, Johnny Weir, AJ McLean, Nev Schulman, Carole Baskin, Justina Machado, Monica Aldama, and the list just goes on. They really said “we need to get young people back into the show.” And they did. I was hooked. And though Len is gone and Carrie Ann is going some sort of which way with her votes (we don’t talk about it), I’ve watched every episode with bright eyes and so much excitement. We have some good dancers this season. And some bad ones. But mostly good. So here’s my definitive ranking of this season’s stars (and, by extension, pros). And if you don’t agree, that’s fine. I am simply a nineteen-year-old girl who likes to watch ballroom dancing.
NUMBER 15: CAROLE MF BASKIN AND PASHA PASHKOV
Besides the moral obligations to not allow a murderer to appear on the show, I think DWTS did a good job trying to rope people in by bringing her on. When the cast list was released, my jaw dropped because I knew she was going home first and I wanted to be there to see it.
And somehow, she did not... go home first? She made it another episode? While I’m sure it was a ploy to keep people interested in the show so they didn’t watch the premiere and drop off, Carole Baskin is sure to go down in DWTS history as one of the worst competitors. Her highest score was a 16, sure, but her lowest was an 11. We’re treading Master P territory. And I had a full traumatic episode watching her in a lion-esque unitard. Fuck, I needed to bleach every orifice on my body. (Overall Rating: 1 dead husband/10)
NUMBER 14: CHARLES OAKLEY & EMMA SLATER
You cannot tell me this man isn’t having the most fun he’s had in a minute. He was another easy-to-spot early elimination, but I actually enjoyed watching him to some degree. Emma danced circles around him, but you could really tell he was trying his damnedest and I appreciate it. And his performances didn’t strike cold, dead fear into my heart like other people.
He also got the same average score as Carole over the first two episodes, but one of those was NOT an 11. Slightly better, imo, just a little less improvement than Carole---which is why Derek booted him in the first place. (Overall rating: 1.5 left feet/10)
NUMBER 13: JESSE METCALFE AND SHARNA BURGESS
Did they---did they ever dance? I literally don’t remember anything other than that Newsies dance, which I have to say I particularly enjoyed. It might be because I like Newsies. It might be because Sharna’s hair is gorgeous this season. I don’t know, but it probably wasn’t because of Jesse’s dancing.
That’s literally all I have to say. (Overall rating: 2 confused braincells/10)
NUMBER 12: CHRISHELL STAUSE AND GLEB SAVCHENKO
WOAH, she’s coming in with the hot takes! Chrishell hasn’t even been eliminated yet! And look, it’s not even Chrishell’s fault that she’s so low on the list. It really isn’t. She’s been performing, well, okay thus far. Not great, considering her highest score was a 26 on a Paso double where she literally did not even dance (look, I’m not a judge, but I would’ve given it a 21 MAYBE). She’s trying, and she seems to be really enjoying it; I absolutely adore her energy. But most of the issue here is attributed to her partner, Gleb.
His choreography is just... I don’t know... lazy. He throws himself around like a god among men and Chrishell is just there. I don’t really appreciate the pros who prefer to dance over their partners instead of with them. I don’t understand why he thinks this method will get him a mirrorball, but it’s just not gonna happen. (Overall rating: 2 measures of actual dancing/10)
NUMBER 11: ANNE HECHE AND KEO MOTSEPE
Look how happy they look! No, but seriously, they didn’t do that bad. They just had a bad week. Week 2, they had a higher average score than SIX other couples on the show, and they left with a score of 21. I legitimately think that their Disney night dance was underscored. Sure, it wasn’t wonderful, but it didn’t deserve a fifteen.
I know they had no chance to win the mirrorball, but Keo has a history of being stuck with less-than-stellar partners. Anne was not a bad match; they just had bad luck and better competition. I did love watching them, though. And Keo is beautiful, but need I say more? (Overall rating: 3.5 early elims/10)
NUMBER 10: VERNON DAVIS AND PETA MURGATROYD CHMERKOVSKIY
I honestly haven’t enjoyed Peta’s choreography since Season 22, when she and Nyle DiMarco ate up the dance floor and left not a single crumb. She and Peta were another pair where I was like, “Wait, who got eliminated? They’re still here?” The judges were right in saying Vernon had a lot of energy on stage, and look at him here. He’s big cheesin’.
They kind of existed for me is all I have to say. The only reason they’re ranked higher than Anne and Keo is because their average score was just overall better. They never scored extremely well, with their highest score being a 22, but they never did too horribly either. They were meh. (Overall rating: 4 touchdowns/10)
NUMBER 9: NELLY AND DANIELLA KARAGACH
Another hot take? Yes. I can never tell whether or not Nelly enjoys being here until he actually dances. During rehearsal, confessionals, critiques, he always looks a little embarrassed or nervous? I’m not sure. But just like Vernon and Peta, all of their dances have been kind of meh.
That’s not to put Daniella down in any sense. It’s her first season as a pro, and her abilities definitely shine through in her performance. But like I said about Gleb earlier, she has a tendency to dance over Nelly at times (see: the Freddy Krueger dance from last week). I don’t see Nelly living up to the standards the judges say he’s lived up to thus far, but that might just be my personal opinion. (Overall rating: 5 heeled sneakers/10)
NUMBER 8: MONICA ALDAMA AND VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY
Another surprisingly hot take. I actually really enjoyed each of Monica’s dances this season, especially since she’s someone with essentially zero dance experience. I’m still very pissy that the Ratched dance sent her home---it was one of my favorite dances of the night, and I have no clue why she only got a 22 for it (especially when Chrishell and Gleb got a 26).
Val has always been someone on the show who can take a non-dancer and genuinely make them better. This is the case with Monica. We saw so much improvement with her over the weeks. We’re getting to the part of the list where I love all of the dancers. Still, Monica and Jeannie should not have been the bottom 2 last week, but in the case between the two, it’s right that Monica was eliminated. Still, I would have loved to see her next week. (Overall rating: 6 cheer pyramids/10)
NUMBER 7: SKAI JACKSON AND ALAN BERSTEN
Sure, she got the first 10 of the season. Sure, the Chucky dance was kind of spectacular. But she’s also had the lowest score for two out of seven weeks so far. She has yet to be in the bottom, but I’m sure that’s the fans working for her. I can’t deny her talent on the dance floor, but I would argue that objectively, Skai has made the most mistakes out of everyone this season.
She’s been remarkably inconsistent over the course of the season, but when she’s good, she’s really, really good. She was my pick to win when the cast was released, but now I don’t see that happening unless the fans really come to vote on her, which I think they will. But there is no excuse for an 18 on Week 6. She can do better. I know she can. But until then, she stays in the middle of my list. (Overall rating: 6 Ms. Kiplings/10)
NUMBER 6: JEANNIE MAI AND BRANDON ARMSTRONG
To be completely honest, I had Jeannie Mai pegged as an early elimination from Week 1. But she and Brandon continue to astound me as a team. I love every single one of their dances, sad that they’ve been consistently underscored. That Hannibal Lecter paso was stunning, and the Up dance on Disney night made me tear up a little.
They’re not higher for the sole reason that others are just better. Not because I don’t love what they put out on the stage every week, but Jeannie just isn’t the strongest technically. Until they get eliminated, though, I’ll be watching with bated breath. (Overall rating: 7 hole-in-ones/10)
NUMBER 5: KAITLYN BRISTOWE AND ARTEM CHIGVENTSEV
Do I just not see what everyone else is seeing when they’re obsessing over Kaitlyn Bristowe? I mean, everything she’s done so far has been wonderful, but she’s not my favorite. Technically, it’s on point 85% of the time. and she has the second-highest point total so far in the competition, but she has yet to do a dance where I step back and think, “Wow.” That’s what puts her behind the top four.
I did not like the Cruella DeVille paso doble at all last week, but I think that was attributed to the song choice more than anything else. I have yet to be taken aback by Kaitlyn and Artem, but their work is undeniably, objectively some of the best on the show. (Overall rating: 7 roses/10)
NUMBER 4: AJ MCLEAN AND CHERYL BURKE
Now we’re at the spot on the list where if any of these guys win the mirrorball, I will be satisfied. Something about AJ is simply magnetic. He has such a kind disposition and wonderful talent on the dance floor, it’s so hard not to love him. His samba is one of my favorite dances on this season so far, and I’m genuinely concerned that he’s been underscored this whole time.
Cheryl is a mf VETERAN at this, too. She knows how to teach this man to destroy a dance floor. The energy he brings, the life he brings, the nasty footwork that he DEMOLISHES. I did not expect to love AJ as much as I do. In my opinion, the most improvement we’ve seen in a star this season. (Overall: 8.5 backstreets/10)
NUMBER 3: JUSTINA MACHADO AND SASHA FARBER
Justina is living proof that you don’t have to be as big around as my pinky finger to do ballroom dancing well. She’s easily the best female star this season, and Sasha has accentuated her talents on the dance floor without overpowering her, which I enjoy. On top of that, she looks so happy to be here, which translates heavily into her dancing.
I will say, not every dance from her has been my favorite, but there hasn’t been a single dance out of her that I haven’t liked. Her presence is so powerful and destructive that everyone needs to watch their backs. Remember, this is a sitcom mom, not a professional dancer. (Overall rating: 8.5 days at a time/10)
NUMBER 2: JOHNNY WEIR AND BRITT STEWART
I am a firm believer that Johnny and Britt should have gotten a perfect 30 on their contemporary back in Week 5. I am also a firm believer that they should have gotten a perfect 30 on their Viennese waltz last week. I am consistently blown away by Britt’s choreography every single week, and their chemistry as a pair is unlike anyone I’ve seen in the show’s history.
What I like about them so much is how much of a team they are. That really makes so much difference out on the dance floor. Their grace and style is completely unmatched, and as a first season pro, Britt is destroying some of the pros who have been here for years... Gleb. I can’t wait to see their performances every single week, and I hope they continue to dance together somehow even after the show is over. (Overall rating: 9.9 triple axels/10)
NUMBER 1: NEV SCHULMAN AND JENNA JOHNSON CHMERKOVSKIY
Hey, quick question: did you expect this? Because I definitely didn’t. Catfish has always been my guilty pleasure show to watch when I’m bored and lonely, and Nev has always been this super dorky guy, so when they announced the cast list, I was like “Oh, this is gonna be funny as hell.” Because it could only go one of two ways: 1) Nev fumbles around like a dork and goes home pretty early, or 2) he wins the mirrorball.
APPARENTLY it’s the latter. Nev surprised me, and I think everyone, with his natural talent, and Jenna is heavily playing off that in her choreography. She’s been giving him very difficult, technical work and he’s has continued to astound. With the first 30 of the season rightfully deserved, Nev is a force to be reckoned with. Like I’ve said earlier, some of the pros like to dance over their partners to hide their weaknesses. I would go so far as to argue Jenna lets him dance over her. Together, they’re an absolute wildfire, and if they continue at this pace, consider the competition already won. (Overall rating: 10 chest hairs/10)

Laughing but the joke’s not funny at all ... or is it?
TRUE STORY 🤣
Come gather around if your Gaylor heart is panicking / saddened by what she said in the Exile clip. I can make it all better for you to see the BIGGER PICTURE of so many signs that she is giving to us in that scene alone + + + how it connects to older clues too.
Jack Antonoff says this below quote during that clip of them discussing Exile.
Let’s first review the concept of a “comedic bit”.
https://www.vulture.com/amp/2014/11/a-think-piece-about-bits-not-a-bit.html
——————-
A bit is a JOKE usually amongst a select group of people and PLAYED with some sincerity. A bit is a comedic take on a reality. An imaginary SPIN amongst individuals with a repetitive GAME between them. Bits can take a level of intelligence and quick thinking. They can be good and they can be bad. They can be used as a form of communication.
——————-
Soooo now that we’ve gone over what a comedic bit is - and now that I’ve now watched this scene at least 10 times over today 😂 let’s dive in some more and have some fun here.
- (pauses, smiles, wink wink) -
We can either take Taylor for her word here and move on but clearly I didn’t which is why I am writing this post lol
There are countless contradictions and to be honest I think she is leaving it to her fans whether or not to look into it more.
remember when Taylor sang about wanting to always be close to her lover?
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
☝️😕
Now there are a lot of reasons to give me if you’re someone who believes in Taylor and Joe as to why this doesn’t matter, that he’s not at the cabin discussing the album creation with them. I haven’t even read through reasons given yet for WHY HE WOULDN’T BE THERE, but “he could be shooting a movie” “he didn’t want to be a distraction” etc. will likely be the rationale given.
Which is fine - like I get why people think they are legitimately dating because unless you really think about it you wouldn’t have a reason to doubt what somebody is telling you.
Except for ... can you all recall the video of Taylor and Jack writing Getaway Car for reputation? Remember the t-shirt Jack was wearing?
“I’m doin’ a bit 🎯 that would’ve gone on forever”
Dark jeans and your Nikes, look at you
The scene which stood out to me the most actually has nothing to do with her mentioning Joe, but just before performing Mirrorball. Taylor and Jack are sitting outside in chairs talking about the process in creating that song.
Taylor: Everyone has to be duplicitous or feels that they have to in some ways be duplicitous. That’s part of the human experience, but it’s also exhausting and you kind of learn that every one of us has the ability to become a shape-shifter. But what does that do to us?
Here’s the Oxford Dictionary’s definition for “duplicitous”
So there’s that 😂 and some other moments from that scene which I jotted down below as I was watching.
Taylor points out lyrical parallels between MIRRORBALL and THIS IS ME TRYING. “I’ve never been a natural. All I do is try”
Jack recalls Taylor writing Mirrorball - “should I say that? Should I..”.
Taylor agrees, “I was like, is that TOO TRUE?” “I listen to a track and I press play and immediately see the scene set - I saw a lonely disco ball, two my lights, neon signs, people drinking beer by the bar in a couple of stragglers on the dance floor. Just sort of a sad moonlit, lonely experience in the middle of a town that you’ve never been.”
“We have Mirrorballs in the middle of a dance floor because they reflect light. They are broken a million times and that’s what makes them so shiny. When you shine a light on them it’s this fantastic glittery thing, but then a lot of the time the spotlight isn’t on them...they’re still UP ON A PEDESTAL, but nobody’s watching them.”
We all are guilty as fans for putting Taylor on a pedestal. Run of the mill Swifties and Gaylor Swifties alike - we want her to say things we like to hear - for Gaylors that means never connecting Joe to anything outside of a photo op (ex: hiking in dark jeans and nikes as seen above, just as the Delicate music video was being released lol). For non-Gaylors bothered by fans who speculate it’s music to their ears hearing Taylor confirm Joe co-wrote Betty and Exile. For Gaylors whom the Exile scene didn’t sting too hard, the Betty moment may have done the trick but as @chiffonpetals points out - it shouldn’t sting either - as the idea that her queerest song to date was co-written by oatmeal (sorry Joe, it’s no offense to you but I love the nickname too much to not use) IS LAUGHABLE.
This is very off topic but a worthy side note - DELICATE reminds me of some scenes from the LUCKY music video. And of course there’s THE LUCKY ONE.
Taylor as she’s discussing disco balls, “We have people like that in society too. They hang there and every time they break (BRITNEY!) it entertains us.
Jack cuts her off, “it’s a MYTH we love and then we create it for people. Do the broken thing. Make it fun. Now make it sad. Now make it cool. Now make it sad”
Taylor agrees, “it was a metaphor for celebrity but it’s also a metaphor for so many people who to feel like...Everybody else feels like they have to be ON for certain people. You have to be different versions of yourself for different people (REP PROLOGUE) different versions at work, different versions around friends, different versions of yourself around different friends. A different version of yourself around family.
Disclaimer: I’ve realized after many years in this fandom my connection with Taylor and her music and how it makes me feel, takes precedent over who she is or isn’t dating. I am not against the idea of Taylor and Joe being a real couple but I just think there’s soooo many things that don’t add up. I could choose to ignore them and just continue to enjoy her music for the many feelings of hope and nostalgia it brings to me; how I relate her lyrics to my life. Nonetheless, I’m only human and once you have fallen down a rabbit hole - one which you quite enjoy digging through - it can be a lot of fun! Especially sharing these ideas with all of you here to keep building on together.
taylor didn’t release betty (a country song written about a 17 year old which was the age she was when she was making country music) and have it be speculated to be gay by the entire world and then go and play it at the acms on a guitar with rainbow strings - the same one she played at the stonewall inn for pride month a year before - for anybody to believe her when she says that joe alwyn wrote it.
