I love me a good indulgent nezushi reunion one shot where he returns and everything is just like it used to be but i don't think it's accurate at all hear me out

I love the two of them but we have to understand that at the end of the book they are both very Fucked In The Head. Yes they do love each other and their messed up, destructive relationship is what they both needed to keep them going and it got them through the events of the book. But that was a time of rebellion and action and war. How would that same relationship fare in a time of peace and domesticity and healing? Not well at all. If these two boys as they were had stayed together it would have destroyed them both.

Nezumi had to leave at the end of the book because they both had to process everything that they had gone through. On their own. They had so much to work through and so much to find out about themselves before they could even think about romance. They both had to mature and become their own people before they could be together.

Now to my original point. When Nezumi eventually returns they will both have had time to change and grow and become functional people on their own. The person they will meet is no longer the person they remember. Shion is no longer the same boy who fell in love with Nezumi and Nezumi is no longer the same boy he fell in love with. Same with Nezumi. They still hold each other dear in their hearts, of course! They still love each other in the sense of having changed each other's lives and impacted them deeply. But when Nezumi returns, they will no longer be In Love the way they were way back when.

And so when Nezumi returns, I don't think they will fall right back into their old relationship. It does them and the story so much more justice for a reunion fic to be about them learning to fall in love all over again with the older wiser version of them, rather than banking on nostalgia to bring them together. Do you understand what im saying please. They are no longer the same people so they can no longer be in love from the get go! But! They still mean the world to each other and they can fall in love again! But this time they get to do it right, and good, and in a healthy and mature way!! And personally, that is a much more fulfilling story than an immediate reunion and relationship.

His dark wet strands fall into the loose V-neckline, and sharp grey eyes settle on Wynn's relaxed pose before he approaches, sliding one—then the other—knee on each side of Wynn's thighs. "Hope I didn't keep you too long," Nezumi purrs as he straddles Wynn's lap. "I could make it up to you?" he offers and undoes the strap on the robe, revealing pale, sensually toned skin. His long fingers slide down the flat front of his body, then to the supple flesh in between his thighs, where he squeezes—a soft moan echoes in response to the self-pleasure. "Don't you just want to ravish me, Wynn?" Nezumi bats his lashes, and his hands move slowly towards Wynn's belt. He tugs but only releases the buckle before moving higher—towards Wynn's toned chest. "Don't you want me? Because I can think of nothing else but your fingers digging into me right now." Nezumi leans closer, ghosting his lips over the edge of Wynn's mouth. "Put your hands on me, Wynn, please."

It'd be all too easy for him to do that, wouldn't it?

He tries not to stare — tries not to give in too much to the temptation tugs insistently at his patience — but he finds that averting his eyes wasn't very useful when Nezumi opts to settle in his lap. The purred out words draw his eyes right back, thought, and are quick to latch onto the smallest glimpse of skin. Amber gaze follows the other's hands as they undo the sash of his robe, as they glide along pale skin; they soak in toned muscle and supple flesh that — for much longer than a moment — the shifter considers the feel of beneath his fingertips. His attention drifts back up by the time the soft moan echoes out to (tempt) him further, the hand perched on the back of his seat curling into itself in a loose, but very telling fist.

The second, all the more telling, even rests on one of Nezumi's thighs. Furled as it might be, it was still close — still touching.

“Don't you just want to ravish me, Wynn?” Nezumi asks, and in his mind, the answer is “Yes.”

But with Wynn, it wasn't a question of whether or not he wanted the bar singer… and it never was. Nezumi likely knew it wasn't and yet still chose to ask — to lean in and brush his lips over the corner of his mouth as he spoke. It'd be easy to turn his head and meet the others lips in a much wanted kiss or to ghost a response directly against Nezumi's own lips. Easier still, would it be to peel off the singer's flimsy robe and dig his fingers into his thighs, to his hips and sides and wherever else he touched — to scratch, push, lift, and pull Nezumi however he saw fit. In the back of his head, he could hear their mixed breaths coming together in hurried kisses and intentional pleas for more. The soft echoes of that characterized his earlier moan gave way to want and hands that idled down his chest in teasing now found purchase in his hair as he gripped the shorter's thighs and effortlessly stood.

He appears calm and the exhale he gives doesn't betray him much…but the hand that was resting on Nezumi's thigh does. It relaxes, yes, but to close around the skin it sat on top of and gently drag a set of nails down a bare thigh. He finds a spot to grip an inch or two down … and as the other lifts away from the back of his chair, he turns to look directly at the teasing singer. His own lips brush against Nezumi's own as he speaks and Wynn can keenly hear the dwindling restraint in his voice.

one nitpick about the musical. many of my favorite lines did not make it due to the conversations being cut or shortened. understandable but also they should make a 6h ver just for me

so ive been to the no.6 musical twice now, and one funny variation between the two showings.

there's a scene where nezumi throws inukashi a coin to get some information. if they catch it, the dialogue goes as planned. if they drop it, nezumi makes a witty remark. ive now seen both variants. the latter got a laugh from the audience today.

i just... people strip SO much depth from franziska von karma under the guys of "WHAT IF HER DAD ABUSED HER" and it's so fucking sad... she is such a complex character... i was able to talk about strictly canon-based analysis on her for TWO HOURS STRAIGHT because she is just THAT DEEP and still people feel the need to tack the child abuse headcanon on and even attribute other nuances of her character to it when they're way deeper in canon. i know i have said it before but i really think like a solid 86% of the people who harp about manfred von karma being an abusive father are just really bad at media analysis, understand that miles and fran are deep, and want to join the discussion despite not being able to parse that complexity. it just makes me sad man. you dont have to make stuff up. or talk at all. listen to what others say! they might teach you how to analyze media urself!

Invited along by Nezumi's voice, Shion had smiled, and seen the sky. It was that deepest hue of blue he had seen, lying in the grassy field. The colour of the heavens was spreading across the darkness. True, this world was ridden with brutality and falseness. Indeed, it was rife with it. But that wasn't the only thing that existed. Because, look―in this world, and in people's souls, there definitely existed beautiful things like the blue of the lofty skies. Nezumi's voice became a bubbling spring that quenched Shion's body and filled him to the brim. It was a strange voice. It melted the soul, and regenerated people to life.

He felt like he was being wrapped in an elegant grey cloth. The core of his body pulsated. All the thoughts that had been swirling around in his head came to a full stop. A moment of pleasure. It was strange. Just the kind of light in Nezumi's eyes was enough to make him feel like he was being pushed away or being embraced.

Curiosity. No, it wasn't such a casual feeling; it was a deep-rooted desire. It roved in circles deep inside his chest. It was intrigue towards a world his imagination could not render. Interest in the unknown. And more than anything... it was the expectation that he could acquire some piece of knowledge that had to do with Nezumi. His soul was stirring restlessly. It stirred from wanting to know, and not for anyone else but himself.

Nezumi was almost like a deep forest. No matter how far he waded in, he could never gaze out over its entirety. Here, clumps of flowers bloomed; here, a bowed branch bore fruits. Here, a spring gushed forth, and he could hear the gentle sound of its flow. He had definitely seen these various scenes, but they were mere parts of the deep, vast forest. Perhaps he would emerge from the dense trees to be faced with a sheer cliff. Perhaps there lurked man-eating beasts. Perhaps a scene totally unknown to him would stretch before his eyes. He didn't know. No matter how far he waded in, Nezumi never revealed his entirety to him. The further he waded in, the more unfathomable it got. I've wandered and gotten lost in an endless forest. I'm drifting, a tangle of throbbing pain and dreamy ecstasy.

Lazy Nezumi Cheap Ballpoint Script

There are some things that real ballpoints do that typical art programs these days don't give you the option to simulate.

Things like:

the wobble of the line you get from drawing on a thin sheet of paper over a wooden table or other hard textured surface.

The chance to create a blob at the start or middle of the stroke.

Each stroke having a different amount of ink at the start so you get a random thickness or darkness.

How you can scrape the ball point by just skirting at the edge where it sits, letting you draw lighter but having a skippy mark.

There's more but the first three are ones I managed to somewhat capture in a Lazy Nezumi script some time ago. You can find the script here if you're curious:

But if you're not a power user of LNP already, it might be a bit complicated to set up. The steps are supposed to be in the documentation but I'll try to explain in simpler terms in a future post.

To make sure the wobble actually applies its intended effect, you have to set the CSP stabilization to 1 or 0.

It really sells it when you draw over a paper image.

Is Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury the first anime series to depict a married same-sex couple?

Given the rings and comments from the staff (excluding Bandai) it's pretty clear that both Suletta and Miorine are married. And looking at older anime couples I can't find another one where the characters are actually married to one another.

There are series that depict engagements and proposals (implied or otherwise with queer characters).

Some examples would be:

Yuri & Viktor from Yuri on Ice, where it's implied that they want to be engaged.

Ranma & Akane from Ranma 1/2, both find themselves in an arranged engagement but end up falling for each other anyway. Ranma is canonically genderfluid in both the anime and manga and Akane is attracted to Ranma as both a man and a woman. And this is ignoring all of Ranma's other fiances who know about their curse and want to be in a relationship with them anyway.

Utena & Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena, while the circumstances of their engagement are out of their control, the two of them fall deeply in love with one another despite that. And in the movie they kiss.

Other LGBT anime couples are together or in love but next explicitly depicted as engaged or married would be:

Michiru Tenou & Haruka Kaiou from Sailor Moon, they are very much together and in the Crystal series end up living together and adopting a baby.

Yukito Tsukishiro & Touya Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura, who are in love with one another.

Eiji Okumura & Ash Lynx from Banana Fish, who are in love with one another. And it hurts.

Yuu Koito & Touko Nanami from Bloom Into You, who are two girls who fall in love with one another. And in the story you watch them grow and get closer.

Nezumi & Shion from No. 6, a sci-fi drama where two boys fall in love. This one also hurts.

And countless other examples, none of which I could find have the characters taking their relationship further than dating or engagement.

So, is Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury the first married same-sex couple in anime?

On a minor note, there have been several gay weddings depicted in manga.

Some examples would be:

Our Dreams At Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani, which was written by an asexual, X-gender author.

Until I Meet My Husband by Ryousuke Nanasaki and illustrated by Yoshi Tsukizuki. This manga was written by a gay man and based on his own essays about his life. The manga is auto-biographical.

I Married My Best Friend To Shut My Parents Up by Kodama Naoko, who has written several other LGBT manga, most of which are Yuri.

And there are several more!

Shoutout to Episode 7 of the 80s anime Dirty Pair for having a wedding between a cis man and a trans woman in one episode.

say what you want about DRS but there's a lot of really cute and eerie little touches on it, like the Secret Boss you can only unlock if you hit level 99 and find the Sayaka Numbers on Nezumi Castle, or all the super powerful Despair Tower weapons being the series murder weapons (w/ each description a quote from the culprit). and of course the final unlockable weapon being the Hydraulic Press. and the adorable unique protag group CG you get at the end where they're all smiling?

Hey guys! As a treat, I thought I'd provide some context for this seemingly random line Davepeta gives us in the latest upd8.

So It turns out this is a reference to a catchphrase used by Higurashi: When They Cry character Rika Furude, which is later used in that series' spiritual successor, Umineko: When they Cry. Imagine my surprise when this update dropped right as I was in the middle of writing the first Homestuck article I've posted in years, where I actually talk about some of Umineko's themes!

In Umineko, the line is specifically spoken by the Great Witch of Miracles, Bernkastel, a character who operates very much like an Ultimate Self incarnation of Rika Furude:

Current Homestuck: Beyond Canon contributor @mr-foods has done some spectacular Umineko fanart that's very worth checking out, so I guess it's not too surprising to see an in-text shout out.

But also, if you're looking for something to dig into in between Homestuck^2 updates, Umineko could be a good pick! Especially considering notable Homestuck YouTuber @nezumiva is just wrapping up her stream series where she voice acts the entire series live in a truly spectacular live performance. making it more accessible than ever.

And Umineko and Homestuck share some nearly jarring thematic similarities!

In particular, Umineko's structure lends itself very well to further imagining the Ultimate Self, with some characters existing "outside the game board" and treating the reality of the story as a metaphorical chess set, reusing the pieces that are the main cast--even including alternate piece versions of themselves-- in different ways over and over to tell different versions of the same story, in an effort to uncover the truth at the heart of the tale's mystery.

As I watch it draw to a close through Nezumi, I can also say that Umineko is one of the most heartfelt and moving narratives I've ever read, and has some spectacular musical bangers like Bernkastel's main theme, and several tracks that sound pretty damn Homestucky.
