Theory (1): NCT’s The Dream Lab💭🧪

Before you read this, please read The Dream Lab

This post is my first (there may be more) theory about The Dream Lab. I made this because I just read two posts from this blog (thank you!) and I am here to write about what I think is happening in the NCT Universe with the blog as a source. Posted on 22 Sep 2021.

To put it simply, the main point of this post is that;

“The Dream Lab could possibly be the main antagonist of the NCT Universe as the Neos/Members try to break free from them, and they succeeded in doing so.”

In multiple lyrics of NCT songs, I’m pretty sure some may sound grim and depressing. One example is The 7th Sense. Here are some snippets.

The members are actually aware that they are in a dream and they are trapped in it. They are treated as guinea pigs by the experimenters in The Dream Lab.

I mentioned in the first post that colors play a role in indicating what stage the members are, right? There are actually three main colors from that scale. Red, Blue, and Yellow. These colors are also the colors of crayons(?) that were given in SM_NCT #1. The Origin video that was released in 2016.

Since we know that Red represents dream and Blue represents Reality.

Yellow is actually tricky. The color Yellow represents lucid dreaming, the state where one is aware that they are dreaming. If you look into the city where 127 are in, this may be a reminiscence of the city in the Regular MV, however, not only that everything is yellow, the neon lights on the city buildings suggest that this city isn’t actually the same. First of all, the words on the yellow gate, 新英雄門; means New Heroes Gate. I interpret this as their gate or door to their own new world; away from the Dream Lab where they created their new world and story. After all, in Ten’s New Heroes, the idea is similar if you look at the lyrics

There are also words like 무한적아, which means “limitless”, (there is more hangul but can’t read because it is kind of blurry and no matter how high I set the quality of the video I still can’t see it :”)) and of course, NeoZone. This city is a different city, they created the city unlike the one in Regular. So they are aware of them being in a dream.

Again, they’re singing about fighting and creating a new world.

You can read more about the color theory from this post, however the color Yellow in this post is slightly different from what I wrote in here. But the rest are the same.

Another point I would like to make is that;

“Ether helps the Neos to connect with each other and synchronize in dreams, it also connects them through different dimensions (like the past and future) and between the conscious and the unconscious mind”

So at this point, without The Dream Lab, they MAY be using Ether to connect through different dimensions and each other to complete their mission to realize their ideal and better world (to start a revolution). Another thing, I think they also made use of a wormhole in order to connect through time and space. This wormhole was actually mentioned in WayV’s Dream Launch.

And if you don’t know even their Resonance Album is supposed to look like a wormhole

If I were to interpret this, I would say that in NCT 2020 the plot is that all the Neo members went through the wormhole and the album signifies that journey.
