Starting a new post for my thoughts as I read Wind and Truth. Hopefully I can get through this book without stumbling onto any more spoilers.

Here's what I've picked up so far, mostly to get my own thoughts in order:

Chapters get released before the book but the only one I read was (a draft of?) the Prologue when that was released like two years ago. (and I mostly just remember that Gavilar Kholin SUCKS).

Accidentally saw that something bad happens to one of my favourite side characters while browsing the Coppermind wiki and OH NO (leave. him. alone!)

Flipped through the book briefly to look at the illustrations and accidentally spotted something Very Bad Indeed (but also kind of cool ngl).

Tumblr decided to start throwing Cosmere posts into my recommendeds and I saw that a certain popular theory might have been confirmed. I personally don't like the theory but I can see where it was built up and maybe the book will win me over.

I'll say the ones I'm most likely to come back to regularly these days are Captain Pike, Mobius, and Dalinar Kholin (along with, y'know, people for them to get it on with).

The main culprits lately have been Stormlight Archive, Star Trek Strange New Worlds, the Loki series, Stargate, and original fiction! Honorable mention to OFMD and Good Omens who've popped in there a couple times as well and may or may not continue to make occasional appearances 💖

“May I?” Loki was asking— and he was trailing one hand downwards, fingers teasing along the line of Mobius’s belt. 

Mobius’s breath caught in an embarrassing little whimper, but he nodded anyway, a little distracted from wondering… Should he tell Loki he didn’t have any idea what he was doing, not really? Should he keep quiet and hope maybe Loki wouldn’t notice how woefully inexperienced he was beyond his own hands? Or— 

Mobius’s nervous train of thought was interrupted by Loki’s fingers finding his stiffened cock through his suit pants with a little squeeze— 

…And then Loki stopped, pulled back, and stared at Mobius with wide eyes and a slightly shocked look. 

“Wh… what is it?” Mobius asked, face flaming, instantly certain he’d done something wrong. “I’m sorry—” 

“Sorry?” Loki breathed, and to Mobius’s tentative relief, that slightly slack-jawed expression twisted up into a grin of delight instead. “My dear Mobius, you should definitely not be sorry about this.”

Okay so I haven’t started reading The Stormlight Archive novels yet but I asked a cute NB friend what their fave fantasy sword is and they said Mayalaran. I just started my interpretation of her shardblade form based on the wiki and the little bit of art I’ve seen on here. Okay so far? Their birthday is at the end of next month and I wanna give them a lil painting of their favorite sword with their favorite flowers, and I think the dichotomy of life and death between the flowers and Mayalaran will be especially beautiful and also *hopefully* impress this babe of a person that I’ve had such an intense instant connection with

Last night I told myself to take a break from reading for a day or so but I didn't listen to myself (I never do). Now somewhere in Day 9 and filled with utter dread about where everything is going.

I know Hoid, Design and Sigzil make it to other books. I glanced at the last page to see how many there were (so I can keep track of how many pages I have left) and saw Kaladin's name in the last line, so I'm guessing he's fine? Mentally bracing myself by assuming everyone and everything else is doomed though.

Four chapters in and, yeah, okay, now I'm panicking about where this is going.

Hoid's doom and gloom is effective but also becomes a whole other thing when I remember that I KNOW he's appeared in books chronologically after this one. You'll be fine asshole (affectionate), it's everyone else I'm scared for.

I wanted to finish up Day 9 before I stopped for the night. I was genuinely worried that Adolin was about to be killed off and I don't think I could have handled it if he had been. Everything else is a disaster.

This time I think I really will wait a day before reading further because I am so fucking drained right now.

Oh no. Making plans to get a drink when this is all over? Yeah, at least one of you isn't making it out of this book. Brando's been going so heavy on the doomshadowing around Kaladin that now I'm thinking it's a red herring and he'll be fine. Shallan's got so much left to unpack that I'm now very worried for Adolin (that was definitely Sureblood's spren/spirit he had that Moment with which feels like an omen)

So I finished Day 3 last night before bed and I was thinking how that section, while teasing some tense moments, was pretty calm in the end. Then I turned the page and saw Nazh's annotation on the map of Shinovar and...what "debacle"?! What's going to happen to Shinovar?! So much for being calm.
