Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 12: The Plan Starts
The Mysticons go to a nearby university, as Queen Goodfey sent them there to meet with a geologist to learn about the rock they found. They discover that the rock is made out of an extremely rare mineral, and that it can give objects protection against magic. While Sharise initially wonders why Larine would care about protection more than attacking, Arkayna brings up that it could make it difficult for someone to stop magic-themed plans.
Unsure of what to do with the new information they gained, they decide to meet up with Malvaron and Doug at the stronghold to talk about their next steps. As soon as they get to the stronghold, they see Doug and Malvaron looking at a note. Malvaron explains that it’s a note explaining Larine’s plan to resummon the Spectral Hand, making it so it can resist the Lances of Justice, and will threaten anyplace that refuses to follow her rules. They realize that the spell requires a lot of magic, which is why some of attempts to steal magic, and the mineral may make it so that neither the Dragons of Light nor the Lances of Justice wouldn’t work. As Drake City is the first planned target, they decide to look for any signs of an attack. Before they leave, Sharise asks if there’s any clues as to who wrote the note, but Malvaron says there is none. Doug even adds that it’s typed, so they can’t even tell the handwriting.
While they are walking, Arkayna worries about what will happen if the attack is going to happen somewhere else, and Piper worries about what’s going on between Liadon and Rudick’s Hollow. Zarya calls Kitty and tells tells her what’s going on with Larine. She asks the Pink Skulls to fly past Liadon and Rudick’s Hollow to see what’s going on, and Kitty agrees.
Knowing that they don’t have to worry about Liadon and Rudick’s Hollow, they decide to continue looking around Drake City to see if there would be any clues as to how Larine’s next attack would come. As they are walking, they see a news report though an electronics’ store TV about the conflict between Rudick’s Hollow and Liadon. Em and Piper are bothered by this and wonders if people will judge them for their friendship, especially since everyone knows Em at Rudick’s Hollow and Piper knows that Larine says that there is some connection she has to Liadon, but doesn’t know what. The others reassure her that the conflict will end, and no matter what happens, nothing will get in the way of their friendship. Just then, they get a frantic call from Proxima saying that the Academy is being attacked.
The Mysticons hurry to the stronghold, and they see Tazma with the Spectral Army attacking the Astromancers. While the Astromancers who still have magic are using their powers, Gandobi and Proxima are fighting without magic. The Mysticons join the fight, and during the fight, Tibeon makes a comment to Tazma that she can’t control him without magic, and he only cares about helping Larine. While the Mysticons manage to defeat Tazma, they wonder why she was attacking the Academy. While they know Larine wants to have magic, no one was kidnapped. However, they realize that some objects were stolen, and realize that they can get magic through magical objects.
As they leave Rudick’s Hollow, they talk about what to do next. While Piper wants to go straight to the mine, Em thinks it’s best that they go straight to the ruins, as they can ambush them instead of running to the mines, then the Ruins if they’re too late. They start arguing, and while Zarya sides with Em, Arkayna sides with Piper. It’s up to Sharise break the tie, and Sharise chooses to go to Rudick’s Hollow. While Arkayna and Zarya accept the decision, there is tension between Em and Piper. Sharise seems uncomfortable picking sides, but Arkayna reassures her that it will be fine.
They go to the Ruins, and Tazma and Larine are already there. Tazma says that she knew the Mysticons would come there, especially since they would be worried after learning that things were stolen from the Astromancer Academy. She also demands to get her magic back, as she did help the goal, but Larine refuses. A fight ensues, and Larine still manages to summon the Spectral Hand, then leaves.
The Mysticons activate their Lances of Justice, but it isn’t strong enough to stop the Spectral Hand. Tazma uses a weapon to hold it off, and tells the Mysticons to escape. While they don’t trust her, they leave. As they are going, they realize that, if they don’t figure out a way to help soon, the entire realm will be under Larine’s control.

The Miracles, Kwamis & Creation of The Miraculouses
Shortly after the fall of Ephedia and the Mysticons, a group of magic-users known as the "Miracles" who were highly attuned to the world of animals and the universe began working on a new method to give the world the heroes it desperately needed should yet another attack occur. With their knowledge of the universe, they worked to to create a communication link with the Kwamis, anthropomorphizations of universal concepts such as Creation, Destruction, Empowerment and such.
Originally formless, the Kwamis were simply beings who existed, flowing through the world itself. Though they could not speak with the material world, they were able to commune with the Miracles through their attunement to the world. And through this attunement and years of work, the Miracles were able to create jewelry and accessories that allowed Kwamis to not only manifest physically to interact, but also to inhabit them and bestow magnificent powers to the wearer. These items were called "Miraculouses" as their creation was heralded as a "miraculous and magnificent creation" in the Miracles' goals.
Because of the connection to animals that the Miracles held, Kwamis took the form of animal-like creatures, and therefore, the wearers would turn into animal-themed heroes and be given abilities themed after their animal. However, these powers were not infinite and Kwamis would eventually need rest, especially if they used their specific ability; they would only have 5 minutes after such a use before the Kwami would need rest and food to recharge back to full power. Kwamis are also susceptible to illness and if pushed too far, or worse, the Miraculous is damaged, the Kwamis will suffer greatly.
Through the use of potions and other magic, Kwamis would be able to gain new powers or additional powers to aid them in different situations e.g. underwater battles, battling in space etc. Kwamis were also able to "unify": the fusion of two or more Miraculouses and Kwamis to add even more power to the holder.
The First Sign of The Listeners
After The Watchers had taken down Ephedia, a new branch of creatures had come about. Calling themselves "The Listeners", these blind creatures had ears in every world, able to listen to anything and everything, however, they too were not without some limits, limits which the Miracles would take advantage of as best they could. As a rule, they swore to maintain secret identities as they knew that speaking of themselves could risk them being found out and killed, or worse, turned against their fellow heroes. They also enchanted the Kwamis with a spell that prevented them from speaking their holders' names.
In harrowing battles, the Miracles were able to beat back The Listeners and forced them to retreat, but the Miracles were now old and could no longer continue their duties. So, they set about searching for the next hero to take their place, passing down the Miraculouses and choosing those who were of noble heart and mind to fight evil. The knowledge of this all was compiled into the "Grimoire" which held all of the magic, the spells, the methods and more that the Miracles had charted down in relation to the Miraculouses and the Kwamis. The Miraculouses themselves were stored in special boxes called "Miracle Boxes" to keep them safe and would be passed down for generations through hundreds of different hands from different places. Miraculouses slowly oved away from being inherited to being gifted by the Box Holder, leading to all sorts of strange teams of strange creatures, but all defined by their heroism.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Reflections
Hi, everyone. As usual for my fan seasons, thought and I'd a reflection and announcement (though for those who followed my other fan seasons, you can probably guess what the announcement will be).
Honestly, while some episodes were more difficult than others, I liked how this season turned out. I like some of the themes that I explored, such as fear getting the better of a person.
I know the battle between Liadon and Rudick's Hollow was rushed. I initially didn't want an Em and Piper centric season, as I didn't want Sharise to be left out. But I realized the first Next Quest season focused on her simply by her being the new Mysticon, so I added it. I probably would have changed some episodes if I thought of it earlier, such as Piper going to Liadon earlier.
Fun fact, Liadon is named after my current Dungeons and Dragons character, Nurala Liadon. Also, the tests the Mysticons faced in the finale was supposed to be them facing their greatest fear, but I thought working together to face various challenges was a better idea, so I changed it last minute.
I will be taking a mini-break for a week, where I won't be doing any original posts. Fan seasons are a lot of work, so I like having some time to relax. I will be back to my normal posting schedule November 26th.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 13: Challenges to Peace
Note: Last one! I hope you guys enjoyed it.
Believing that it’s possible that Larine is lying about the Dragons of Light being unable to defeat the Spectral Hand now, the Mysticons go to the Dragonhedge to ask King Valmauk for help. As they are going, while Zarya is worried taking the chance, Em reassures her that Proxima is calling Aunt Yaga and Nova Terron for help, so there may be another plan ready if the Dragons of Light can’t help. They get to Dragonhedge, and when they tell King Valmauk about what happens, he agrees to help. However, the Dragons of Light are unable to defeat the new Spectral Hand, and they and the Mysticons are forced to retreat. The battle also revealed that the tension between Em and Piper was still there, as they’re not working together as well as usual.
The Mysticons reunite at the Stronghold, where Malvaron, Doug, Proxima, Nova Terron and Aunt Yaga are waiting for them. They all work together to research methods to stop the Spectral Hand, and Proxima does find a ritual the original Mysticons originally planned to do, but abandoned after realizing that failing would trap them in another plane permanently. The Mysticons agree to do it, and while Proxima is nervous, they do the ritual, and are sent to another dimension.
The first test is takes them to a world with five pillars. They each take a pillar, and there is a blackboard on each pillar. They assume that it’s just the opening to the puzzles and they have to write down their names to sign in, but neither their Mysticon or real names work. They see a design on the floor, and Sharise guesses that they have to draw a part of it on each blackboard, so all of them together would make the picture on the floor. Piper and Em aren’t taking much, making it so their parts of the picture don’t match each other, as they don’t know how much of the picture each of them is doing. Arkayna tells them that the battle between Rudick’s Hollow and Liadon mean nothing for their friendship, and Em and Piper do start working together. It works, and floor separates, leading them to a second set of stairs.
In the next room, they see an empty room with a door on the other end. Right as they’re about to walk to the door, most of the floor falls apart, with the only way to get to the door being a bridge that looks like it’s about to fall down. Zarya then notices a timer, and they come to the conclusion that if they don’t get through the door before the timer runs out, then they fail the test. Piper wants them all to run across as soon as they can, but Arkayna isn’t sure if it would work, and they go one at a time. They do, and while some planks of the board falls, all of them make it through safely.
In the next room, there is a spell laying on the ground, but it’s in a different language. Sharise knows what it says, but the word has sounds that Sharise can’t pronounce correctly. They also realize that Sharise’s attempts makes one light flicker, and that there are four other lights. They realize that all of them have to say the spell, and Sharise helps the others pronounce it by writing it out on her phone in a way that the Mysticons can read. The others give Sharise advice on how to enunciate the word better, and while Sharise doesn’t pronounce it as well as the others, and her light doesn’t shine as brightly, it is done well enough to make an elevator.
The next room is the throne room, and they wonder if they made it to their world. However, when they see a door similar to the other doors in the puzzle, they realize that they’re still in the puzzle dimension. Cagim (Piper’s grandfather), Queen Goodfey, Adrie (Sharise’s cousin), Kitty, and Malachite are turning into statues, and are begging them to use the spell book in the middle of the throne room to free them. However, they’re almost out of time, and they know that they aren’t able to read the spell in time. Realizing that this is part of the test, so the people are simply illusions, they go. Zarya sees Choko as part of the group turning into statues, and while all of them want to save Choko, they resist and go through the door.
They appear in the Academy, and find that their cure forms have changed. They realize they don’t have time to stop and admire their new forms, and they see the new Spectral Hand in Drake City. They go, and use their powers to stop the Spectral Hand. As the Spectral Hand is fading into dust, it grabs Larine, making her vanish as well. Larine sees Tazma, who is helping the Mysticons, and tries to grab her so she vanishes as well.
They all celebrate, and Queen Goodfey asks Darius to go to the forgotten mine, as the discovery that Larine was using the mineral at the mine to summon the new Spectral Hand, they may realize that the fighting was to keep them distracted and separated so they don’t stop Larine. Meanwhile, Piper sees Cagim, and tells her what Larine said. Cagim reveals that their family came from there. Meanwhile, Malvaron sees Tazma, and asks her to come back to the Academy, and Proxima promises a second chance. Tazma hesitates, then accepts.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 11: An Unburied Conflict
Note: I know I named the elvish town, then just kept calling it the elvish town. I named it later, and didn't want to rewrite every instance of it.
Arkayna sees Em researching the mine, and asks about it. Em says that she was just curious about both the elvish and dwarvish equipment at the mine, and wondered which group worked at the mine first. Just then, Queen Goodfey calls the Mysticons to the palace.
They hurry to the palace, as Queen Goodfey seemed worried about what happened. Queen Goodfey tells them that there is a conflict between the elvish town, Liadon, and Rudick’s Hollow. Em wonders if it has anything to do with the past, and Queen Goodfey reveals that there was a war centuries ago, but when the mine was sealed in a way that the mine couldn’t possibly break through, the two groups made a peace treaty, knowing that continuing the war for a resource they couldn’t get wouldn’t benefit either party. They decide to split up, to see if there’s anything they can do to help.
Em, Zarya, and Sharise go to Rudick’s Hollow, where they find a group of elves attacking. They manage to help fend off the attack, and the elves leave. Various dwarves in the village talk about how the elves from the village are stealing the mine, and that the elvish town was where Necrafa initially came from, and assumes that the elves there still worship Necrafa.
Meanwhile, Piper, Arkayna, and Choko are in the elvish town, and they see some dwarves fighting against the elves, and thanks to the Mysticons’ previous visits to Rudick’s Hollow, they decide to give the Mysticons a day to make the elves concede that the mine should belong to Rudick’s Hollow before leaving. The elves thank the Mysticons for helping them get rid of the dwarves, and they claim that the dwarves will never care about anything other than money, and that they probably don’t care who uses the precious minerals they use, as well as they’re paid.
The Mysticons regroup in Rudick’s Hollow, as they believe that Em’s parents would realize that there is more to the story, and feel as though they would listen to what the Mysticons have to say. Citrine and Malachite tell them about how there was a letter that was sent to the mayor of Rudick’s Hollow from the elves, saying that they will take the mine back if Rudick’s Hollow doesn’t give up rights to the mine. Zarya brings up that, as the attacks on both villages happened at the same time, perhaps the elves had enough warning that Rudick’s Hollow wouldn’t agree. Malachite also tells them that dwarves are allowed to go to the mine certain days, but not others, as part of a treaty that the elves gave to give some time in the mine until they come to their senses. Malachite thinks it’s to make themselves look more reasonable than those at Rudick’s Hollow, but Piper says that she’s not sure.
They go to the mayor of the elvish town, and while they try to reason with him, he doesn’t listen. They find time when he leaves briefly to snoop through the office, and they not only find out that the elvish village got the same letter as Rudick’s Hollow, but they were also supposedly given special days to go into the mines from the mayor of Rudick’s Hollow. As they suspect someone is putting them up to it, they go back to the mine.
At the mine, they find Larine, working on a mask, and putting minerals on certain places of it. A fight ensues, and Sharise threatens to tell both settlements what’s really going on. Larine laughs, saying that neither place will ever fully be able to trust them, since she could convince them that they are siding with a group due to connections. Piper says that she doesn’t have any connection to the town, and Larine smirks saying that that Piper is either lying, or unaware. A fight ensues, and while the Mysticons are forced to flee, as Larine’s magic is extremely strong and too much fighting would make the mine unstable, Choko does get some of the mysterious mineral.
As they are leaving, the Mysticons talk about what they learned. Zarya asks Piper if she really doesn’t know what Larine was talking about, and Piper admits that she doesn’t, but it does worry her. While Arkayna admits that it is worrying, especially since they don’t know what Larine would tell Liadon so they can’t counteract it, she is confident that stopping Larine will stop the conflict.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 10: The Forgotten Cave
The Mysticons are going to investigate the dungeon, as someone broke Larine free. They see Tazma, and Zarya says that she should have known Tazma would turn against them. Arkayna wonders how Malvaron would handle it, and considers telling him. Just then, Malvaron calls, saying that he got a glyph from Tazma, telling them to go to Irak mine, which is the mine between the elvish town and Rudick’s Hollow. Despite thinking that it’s a trap, they decide to go anyway.
As they are going to the cave, they talk about what Tazma’s motive would be. While Piper says that it’s not so surprising that Tazma would be against them, Sharise points out that Tazma did act strangely earlier one when she seemed to let them win after Jiron put a curse on them. Em says that it makes sense that there is something more to Tazma’s motives then simply setting a trap for the Mysticons, but they don’t have enough information to come up with a good idea.
They go to the cave, and Arkayna asks Em if she’s ever heard about it before, due to it being done in Rudick’s Hollow. Em says that she didn’t, as this is outside Rudick’s Hollow’s jurisdiction, and that there was some kind of rule that no dwarves are allowed to mine there. She does remark that it doesn’t appear to have solarite though. Just then, the cave has a sudden deep drop, and they fall down the slope. Sharise uses her glaive to not fall quickly, but they have no idea how to climb back up, they slowly lower themselves down, hoping there is another exit.
As they are walking, they wonder if Larine found another route, or if she found a way around the steep slope. They hear noise in the distance, and Piper says that it sounds similar to how diamondback cave crawlers come. Em admits that it’s possible, as while this area is out of bounds for dwarves, the environment between this mind and the mines at Rudick’s Hollow would go, animals would appear in both areas. They hear the sound of talking, and they decide to investigate.
They go, and see Larine and Tazma in front of a strange artifact with a button attacked to it. Arkayna asks Tazma what she’s doing, and Tazma simply says that she’s doing what she has to do. A fight ensues, and the Mysticons notice that Tazma isn’t using any magic. It turns into an easy fight, though Em’s mech does get damaged, but before they can tie them up and get ready for them to be captured, Tazma hits a button, and a portal appears. Gargoyles between attacking, and while the Mysticons attack, Tazma and Larine escape.
The Mysticons are forced to fight the gargoyles, and Em figures out how to work the portal. The other Mysticons push the gargoyles into the portal. While they assume that Larine and Tazma flew up the slope with Larine’s magic, something they cannot do. However, they find that the gave still continue, and they go through it, hoping that they find an alternate escape.
Further on in the cave, they see a room of different ancient mining tools. After examining them for a bit, Sharise and Em realize that there are both elvish and dwarven tools. While they briefly wonder if this means something, they dismiss it as simply both groups using this mine at some point in the past. Just then, they hear the sound of a Diamondback cave crawler getting closer, and they hurry to the exit.
They find the exit, but it’s caved in. To make matters worse, the diamondback cave crawler comes and begins attacking. While Piper and Arkayna work on breaking the cave entrance, the others realize hold off the diamondback cave crawler. They eventually break though the cave-in and escape.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 9: The Power of Fear
The Mysticons are at a fair when Arkayna sees a fortune teller and decides to check it out herself, as Gawayne said that she was the one who predicted him being king. She is told that the Spectral Hand will return, and will defeat the Mysticons. Arkayna leaves, shaken up, not notices the look of regret on the fortune teller’s face.
Arkayna rejoins the others, and when Sharise asks what the fortune teller said, Arkayna made up something about going to another realm for a royal meeting, which Piper thought sounded cool. Just then, they get a call from Snellson, saying that he figured out what books were stolen.
They go to the Library of the Eternal Equinox, and Zarya comments about how it took a while for Snellson to figure what what books went missing. Snellson admits that Larine also made a mess, and he got busy with other things. Em asks what books were missing, and Snellson reveals that the books were about Necrafa’s mask, and how it was made in the past. Piper is confused, as Larine made the mask, so she should have remembered it, but Zarya points out that perhaps she forgot, and Em adds that maybe she wants to look back at her design for the mask to make it better. Snellson admits that the book they did manage to recover doesn’t have a lot of information, it does have some, and there is a museum in the next town over that discusses Necrafa.
They go to the museum, and learn more about how the elf who became Necrafa turned against the village, who said that the village should make peace with the dragons. Necrafa thought that the dragons will betray them. Piper makes a comment about how her fear of dragons caused all this problem, and Arkayna says that fear can be good. As they learn of a mine between Rudick’s Hollow and a nearby elven town, they decide to check it out.
They are going, and lasers begin attacking the dragons. They manage to land, and find an abandoned house. Arkayna suggests that Zarya goes in to make sure that it’s fine, as Zarya is the best at sneaking ahead, and there’s a chance that the house is empty, making everyone coming not worth it. While Zarya does so, Sharise calls her out on putting Zarya in danger. While Arkayna says that they can’t all go in case they need people on the outside to help, Em points out how Arkayna seems scared. They all go in.
In the abandoned house, they find Zarya fighting against furniture and help Zarya fight them off. Arkayna apologizes for what happened, and says that she can’t believe she let her fear get the better of her just like the elf who became Necrafa. Zarya says that she could tell Arkayna was working through something and didn’t mind supporting her, and asks what’s bothering Arkayna anyway. Before Arkayna can answer, they hear Larine up the stairs, and decide to talk about the problem later, and to stop Larine.
They fight Larine, who taunts them, saying that the Spectral Hand will come back. A fight ensues, and they manage to stop Larine, and they find a plan to combine magic and the mask to make the Spectral Dragon stronger than the Lances of Justice. Em asks about Arkayna’s fear, and she tells about the fortune teller. The others reassure her that it won’t happen, and decide to talk to the fortune teller.
The Mysticons going back to the fair to confront the fortune teller. She reveals that she always wanted to get her fortune telling license but couldn’t afford it, and Gawayne promised to pay for it as long as she scares Arkayna. Both Arkayna and Zarya convince her to keep the money, and the fortune teller promises to tell their fortune for free. She does, and she sees a different form in her Mysticon form. Meanwhile, a cloaked figure breaks Larine free.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 6: Decoys and Distractions
The Mysticons are just settling into their new stronghold when Proxima calls the Mysticons to the Academy, and tells them about a circus that people have been disappearing in. Piper suggests that she sneaks in to go undercover, and while the other Mysticons are hesitant to put Piper in such a dangerous situation, they eventually decide to trust Piper. Proxima seems nervous about the plan, and makes Piper promise to be careful. She tells them about the next time the circus was advertising people to join the circus, which is the following day.
Piper meets up with her grandfather, Cagim, about it, and talks about how excited she is to be able to do circus stuff for a mission. Cagim warns Piper to be careful, since the people disappearing means that it’s likely a trap, and if she gets too excited by being in the circus, she may forget to be careful about her surroundings. He adds that them recently moving to a different stronghold may also be a distraction for her. Piper promises that she’ll be fine, and skips off happily.
Piper goes to the auditions, as the other Mysticons are spying. Piper’s routine goes well, and even though Piper is enjoying herself, she remembers what her grandfather warned her about and is keeping an eye out for traps. There are none, and she does the routine perfectly. The ringleader allows her to be at the performance, and says that there’s a spot for her to do that same routine in an upcoming performance, then she can leave Drake City and move into the circus. Piper finds the others, and Zarya says that, if there is the possibility of Piper being taken out of the city, they should abandon the plan. However, Piper insists on finding the other people, and Em admits that Piper has a point, and that the others can look for the missing people while Piper is performing, so hopefully she can get away from the circus before leaving Drake City. However, the idea of possibly leaving her new home does seem to upset her.
During the performance, the Mysticons are about to look for the missing people when they see Cagim and asks what he’s doing there. Cagim tells them what Piper said about the mission and admitted that he was worried, so he wanted to go to the show to make sure everything went smoothly. Zarya asks Cagim to tell them if anything strange happens, and Cagim promises to do so.
The Mysticons look for clues as to where the missing people went, but are unable to find anything. Meanwhile, Piper is performing in the show, but doesn’t notice machines hooked up on the sides until strange mist envelops the ring, making Piper fall asleep. Cagim has a bad feeling about the show when another performer is where Piper was, especially since Piper seemed surprised at the mist. He calls the Mysticons, and as he could faintly hear a door opening and saw slight movement on the floor, he suspects that Piper, and perhaps the other missing people, are underground, perhaps directly under the main stage area.
Piper finds herself in a strange cell with other people, and Piper recognizes them from the circus. She is especially surprised to see Tazma, who explains that the circus works with a witch to drain the performers’ magic, then forces them to continue performing in order to lure people into the circus. Just then, a group of people take Piper to a different room.
Larine, as well as a strange machine, is in the other room. Larine smirks, saying that she didn’t expect to get a Mysticons’ power. Piper is pushed into the machine, and just as the machine starts, the other Mysticons find her and free her. A fight ensues, during which Piper notices her powers are weaker, and the Mysticons manage to escape. As they’re escaping, Piper tells them about the other trapped people, including Tazma. They free the other victims, but Tazma leaves before the Mysticons can talk to her.
At the stronghold, Malvaron says that Piper wasn’t in the machine long enough to have serious effects, and that her magic should recover on its own. Sharise notices that Piper is deep in thought and asks what’s wrong. When Piper admits that being part of the circus was fun and that performing in it made her realize how much she missed it, Arkayna reassures her that there’ll be other times for her to do circus routines and offers to see if the next royal party needs an entertainer. Piper excitedly agrees.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 5: Undercity Vs. Royalty
Queen Goodfey calls Arkayna and Zarya to the throne room and tells them that there will be a royal ball. She tells them to be on their best behaviour and act like princess, looking at Zarya while she says so. While Zarya is annoyed at being singled out, she agrees.
At the ball, Zarya is trying to follow all the etiquette rules she learned, but is struggling. She overhears people talking about the undercity, saying that the people there must have done something to deserve it, and says that Zarya is lucky to find out that she’s royalty. Zarya is angry at the guests and argues with them, causing a scene. Queen Goodfey scolds Zarya, and Zarya storms off. Arkayna follows, and says that she understands why Zarya reacted the way she did, and suggests she talk to Queen Goodfey. Zarya refuses, saying that her mom only cares if she’s a perfect princess, not about where she came from. A group of people in cloaks sneak into the palace, unnoticed by either Zarya or Arkayna. Zarya leaves, and Arkayna goes back to the ball.
Zarya goes to the stronghold, and sees Doug playing video games and asks to join him. Doug agrees, and asks Zarya why she’s not at the ball. Zarya tells Doug about the fight, and Doug says that it must have been hard for Zarya to hear people talking about the Undercity like that. Zarya admits that, while she is angry at Queen Goodfey for not taking her thoughts into account, she also feels bad about it, as she wanted to make her mom proud. Doug reassures her that after everything she did for the realm, he knows Queen Goodfey would be proud of her. Just then, Arkayna calls, telling Zarya to come back to the ball quickly.
Zarya goes to the ball, and sees that the other Mysticons are there, and that everyone in the ball, including her parents and Gawayne, were turned to statues. There is a note, saying that if they want the family back, then Zarya and Arkayna have to sign the kingdom over to him, as he will do better. Arkayna refuses, and they make a plan to force whoever did this to undo the spell.
Piper, Sharise, and Em sneak to the meeting place early to act as backup but are attacked by a bunch of cloaked figures. They are worried about defeating them in time to help support Zarya and Arkayna, as they don’t want their plan to fail. Piper notices the weapons the group are using are ones she’s seen in the undercity before.
Meanwhile, Zarya and Arkayna meet with the note’s writer, and Zarya recognizes him as Garix, a quiet man from the undercity. He looks at Zarya, and says that Zarya must know what life was like in the undercity, so he’s sure she would help, as the royal family doesn’t care about the undercity. Zarya refuses, and a fight ensues, eventually making it a fight between all the Mysticons and Garix with his group. While Garix is defeated and Arkayna calls the police to arrest him, they are unable to convince him to undo the spell.
The Mysticons look everywhere for the reversal spell. Zarya is worried about making a mistake when casting the spell, or the spell not working, as she feels as though it would be letting her mom down again. Sharise tells Zarya that she knows that Zarya is a good princess, and that the Zarya she knows never let what anyone says changes what she thinks of her. Em adds that teenagers and parents do argue, mentioning the time her dad found out she was a griffin wranger, and adds that she knows Queen Goodfey loves Zarya.
They get to the ball and undo the spell, turning everyone back to normal. Zarya apologizes for ruining the ball, and Queen Goodfey says that she would have listened to Zarya. She adds that, while she wishes Zarya found a more polite way to stand up for the undercity, she’s proud of the princess Zarya is becoming, and that she reminded her that being royal means you care for everyone.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 4: An Unwanted Reunion
The Mysticons are heading to the ruins, as they want to figure out Larine’s plan, and as she is connected to the Spectral Hand, they think that they’ll be able to find a clue there. Just then, the griffins start to be acting strange and begin to hurry and land on the island quickly, even before the Mysticons give the order to land. They’re confused, as the griffins never did that before. As the griffins seem calm now, they decide to continue looking at the Ruins.
At the ruins, they find the Pink Skulls looking at their ship. Kitty explains that the ship was acting strangely just as they were flying over the Ruins, and they were forced to make an emergency landing. Zarya mentions how their griffins were acting strange to, and when Em helps the Pink Skulls look at the ship, she doesn’t find anything strange. Just then, the Ruins suck them in.
In the Ruin dimension, the pink skulls and Mysticons are trying to figure out how to get out, but as there are no doors or portals, there is nothing that looks like an exit. Giant crabs and the Spectral Army begin attacking, and they soon find themselves overwhelmed and are forced to run. As they are running, Kasey finds a hidden door, and they go through it, thinking that it may be an exit.
They look around and notice that while they don’t appear to be out of the ruins, they are in some kind of temple. Piper notices writing on the walls, but she doesn’t know what language it’s in, and doesn’t understand what it says. Sharise looks and says that it’s a spell that can be used to escape from the dimension, but it warns that if anyone stays there for over three hours, the spell won’t work. As the spell says that it has to be done in the same area where they arrived, they realize that they have to go back outside.
While they are heading towards where they were, they find themselves lost. As they begin to figure out where they’re supposed to go based on footprints and anything they find that’s familiar, they run into Captain Kaos and Necrafa, who are surprised but pleased that the Mysticons and Pink Skulls are there. A fight ensues, and the Mysticons and Pink Skulls manage to get away. They find themselves where they were when they first arrived in the Ruin dimension, and while Em is worried about Captain Kaos and Necrafa getting out, Arkayna reassures them that, since they were likely there longer than the time limit, the spell won’t work on them. They cast the spell.
The Pink Skulls and Mysticons soon find themselves outside of the Ruins, only to be surprised by a storm. Piper says that the storm wasn’t there before, and one of the unnamed Pink Skull memebers guesses that it’s another one of the Ruin’s attempts to trap them inside, as the wind is pushing them towards the Ruins. While Em does almost fall back, Arkayna catches her and they all manage to get to the ship and their griffins.
They are escaping the island, but the Mysticons find that their griffins are acting strangely, and the ship is making strange noises. They believe that it’s due to the Ruin’s influence, and calm the griffins down as the Pink Skulls tell themselves that they can make sure the ship is repaired farther away from the island if needed. They get far enough away from the island that the effects go away. Arkayna says that she’ll tell Proxima and Malvaron about it, since the Ruins never did that before, suggesting that Larine’s appearance may have changed something about the ruins.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 3: A Familiar Challenge
Em is looking at a poster, and the other Mysticons notice and ask about it. Em explains that there is a mech building competition in a nearby town that she would like to participate in, but she is nervous about it after remembering the power coupler failed during the last mech competition she was in. The others convince her to enter, convincing her that she’s smart enough.
The night before the competition, Piper sees Em inspecting her robot. Em admits that she wants to make sure that everything works out fine with the robot, and admits that she feels as though she’s letting everyone down if she doesn’t do well enough in the competition, as the Mysticons are rooting for her and her dad introduced her to mech building, and he’d be proud if she wins. Piper asks Em why she got into mech building in the first place, and Em explains that she loved seeing a bunch of metals and wires become something that moved. Piper reassures her that her enjoyment of mech building is the most important thing, and that they won’t feel like Em let them down if they lose. Just then, Em gets a mysterious glyph, telling her to back out of the tournament. Em refuses, and Piper promises to keep an eye out for anything strange.
As they are going to the competition, Em and Piper tell the others about the glyph, and the others promise to keep an eye out for anything strange going on as well. As they are going to the tournament, some gargoyles begin attacking. The Mysticons fight off the gargoyles, and while they suspect that it has something to do with the tournament, they have no proof of it.
They make it to the tournament, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. Em enters without issue, and Zarya wonders if this means that whoever sent the glyph isn’t one of the tournament’s organizers, as Em is being treated just like any other participant. Sharise isn’t sure, as the trap could happen during the tournament, so acting normal would be a way to avoid suspicion.
The first round of the tournament starts, and there is someone in a mask who seems focused on Em. While the others are on guard, they can’t do anything about it, as the masked man isn’t doing anything dangerous. Both Em and the masked man makes it to the finals, and are given time to prepare for the final fight. As Em does so, she begins thinking about how she was this close to winning when the power coupler failed, and begins to worry if history is beginning to repeat itself. The masked man comes, and tells Em that he will get the prize, and that if Em knows what’s good for her, she will quit. He leaves, and Em fixes her mech, making a backup system in case the power coupler fails.
The final match, which is a mech fight between the two mechs, begins. The masked man is acting aggressively, and Arkayna points out that it looks like the masked man seriously wants to hurt Em. During the fight, the masked man breaks the power coupler of Em’s mech, but the backup system allows Em to continue the match, and she wins.
Em is packing her things when the masked man attacks. The other Mysticons come, saying that they had a bad feeling about the masked man, and wanted to make sure that she’s safe. While the masked man is arrested, he says that more enemies will come if the Mysticons keep staying in Larine’s way.
Em receives the prize. While at first they think it’s just a book, they later realize that it’s a book from the Library of the Eternal Equinox, with bar codes hidden so it’s not obvious. While they are convinced that the masked man is working for Larine, or else he would have stolen the book right away instead of having it as a prize for a competition, they realize that someone else must have given the book as a prize. Em thinks about it, and admits that the poster for the competition was near the palace stables, and while she initially thought the wind blew it away, someone could have wanted her to win, and wonder if there is someone involved, and if so, who?

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Ep. 2: Evil Between the Pages
Proxima calls the Mysticons to the Academy, and says that the Library of the Eternal Equinox is being attacked by a witch. She warns the Mysticons to be careful, as witches can be powerful. Zarya says it will be fine, as they faced a lot of tough villains before, and they leave.
At the library, they learn that the witch is still in the library, as between what Snellson was doing to slow the witch down and the witch seemingly not knowing how to navigate the library, she haven’t finished stealing from the library yet. They find the witch, who is holding several books. She casts a spell before leaving, and just as the Mysticons are wondering what’s happening, they hear a noise coming from a lower level of the library and decide to investigate.
They go, and find a suit of armour standing there. The Mysticons don’t realize that anything’s wrong at first, Snellson points out that the suit of armour wasn’t there before. The suit of armour begins fighting them, and when the Mysticons manage to defeat it, it disappears. There are a lot of sounds around the library, and they decide that they need to split up in order to deal with all the threats in the library.
Em, Sharise, and Arkayna walk into the back room, where Snellson keeps the items that he confiscated. As they don’t see any monster where they are. Just as they’re about to go to another area, they see the walls are closing in. Arkayna and Em use their powers to push the walls apart, and Snellson searches around for something sticky, finding some slime from an experiment a group of students from the Academy were doing at the library. Snellson tries to get the slime towards the top of the walls but fails, so while Snellson puts the slime on the bottom portions, Arkayna puts it on the top portions, and Em holds the wall back the best she can. It works, and they manage to escape.
Meanwhile, Zarya, Piper, and Sharise are looking at the upper floors of the library when they see a monster, and Piper recognizes it from a scary story her and Zarya used to read together when they first got into the undercity. Piper and Zarya remember that the monster’s weakness was bright light in their eyes, but before they are able to get their phones out and turn off the main light in the library, the monster charges at them. Sharise uses her powers to make grease to make the monster fall, giving Zarya enough time to turn off the lights and Piper enough time to shine her phone’s flashlight in the monster’s face, making it vanish.
The two groups reunite, and after talking about the monsters they faced, they realize that the spell made elements of stories come to life. Snellson says that he knows there is a spell to undo it somewhere in the library, but doesn’t quite remember where. They decide to stick together, as they don’t know how many traps and monsters there are, and as the library has a lot of books, there is a chance that some of the monsters are extremely dangerous.
After getting through various traps, like gargoyles and mist that affects their sense of direction, they eventually find a spellbook with a spell to undo what the witch did. Sharise reads it, and the library is back to normal. Snellson doesn’t know what books the witch took, but promises to go through the library’s collection and call the Mysticons to let them know which books were missing.
At the Astromancer Academy, they tell Proxima about the witch, and describes her. Proxima is shocked, and reveals that the witch is Larine, the witch who made Necrafa’s mask.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 1: A New Home
Note: For this episode, what you have to remember is that Jiron (the villain of the first Next Quest season) and Tazma broke into the stronghold and put a curse on Tazma.
Arkayna hears a noise in the stronghold and investigates, seeing a tentacle of the Spectral Hand grabbing Zarya while she was asleep. Arkayna wakes up, and realizes that it was just a dream. However, she remains shaken up by it. She goes to grab a glass of water, and sees that Choko is awake. Arkayna admits that ever since Tazma broke in and put the curse on her, she doesn’t feel safe in the stronghold.
The next day, Em notices that Arkayna seems quiet, and asks what’s wrong. Arkayna admits that she doesn’t feel safe in the stronghold anymore, and the other Mysticons agree, with Sharise saying it seemed so easy for Tazma and Jiron to come in and Piper pointing out all the other villains who had come to the stronghold. They all decide that they have to find somewhere else. As Queen Goodfey was getting used to having her daughters still close to the palace, they decide to talk to her to let her know.
They go to the palace to tell Queen Goodfey their plan, and while Queen Goodfey is initially unsure, and admits that she sometimes asks guards to report if they came into the stronghold after a quest to make sure they all were safe. However, she does realize that it would be dangerous to have them live somewhere that villains know about, especially since some of the villains who know about the stronghold are still around, decide that they should find somewhere else to live. Just then, a guard comes, saying that Kymraw and her orcs are stealing in Magi-Mall. The Mysticons want to help but are worried about their safety, and Queen Goodfey and King Darius promise to help find a new place for the Mysticons, and Malvaron and Doug say they will help as well.
They go to Magi-Mall, and fight off the orcs. After having defeated all the orcs that they found in the junkyard, they realize that they haven’t seen Kymraw. They look around the mall, and while they see no sign of her, they learn from a store owner that Kymraw stopped at one store that sold magical objects, but she had left. As some of the objects stolen were not very expensive, the Mysticons begin to suspect that Kymraw has another reason for stealing the objects.
They head to the junkyard, and Em mentions how they should be OK to land, as there wasn’t any security last time she was there. Just then, lasers begin firing at them, and Zarya comments on how she’s surprised Kymraw figured out how to make something like that. One of the lasers hit Sharise, knocking her off her dragon. The others hurry to check on her, but she’s fine. They hear noise coming, and as they don’t know how many orcs are currently in the junkyard, or if Kymraw is actually there, they decide to sneak around.
Just as they find where Kymraw took all the stolen objects, a fight ensues when Kymraw calls a few of her orcs. It looks like the Mysticons are about to win, but Kymraw says that if they don’t let her sell the items she stole, then she’ll have to tell her new business partner where the Mysticons live. Everyone is hesitant to attack, as they’re worried about another villain attacking. Piper eventually chooses to attack, saying that no matter what, they’ll always pull though. She’s about to say that they’ll find a new stronghold, but Arkayna interrupts her by saying that they’ll always stand up for what’s right. Kymraw is defeated and they get the stolen objects back.
After returning the stolen objects to the mall, the Mysticons meet up at the palace, and asks Queen Goodfey and King Darius if they found a place already. King Darius notices they seem more worried than they were that morning, and Zarya explains everything. Queen Goodfey tells them that they did find a place, and Malvaron and Doug are already starting to pack up for the move.
Queen Goodfey and King Darius lead the Mysticons to a mansion and says that the owners are moving in a couple of days, and says that, as it’s for the Mysticons’ safety, she is willing to pay for it, so they don’t have to worry about cost. Sharise is still worried, as they don’t know when Kymraw’s friend will attack, and King Darius says that they can stay at the main part of the palace until they’re able to move into the mansion.

Who Would Be A Reluctant Mysticon?
I was thinking about how cool it would be to have one of the Mysticons be unsure about their role as a hero when she first got her powers (that's why Sharise was reluctant in Mysticons: Next Quest), and I was wondering who would fit the role. Note that this is at the start of the series, so while episodes can give a clue, it doesn't count if a specific event caused it (for example, as Zarya didn't go with the Pink Skulls until episode 7, the fact that she quit then wouldn't play a big role in this, as an event that happened later caused it). This is who would be reluctant right at the start.
I'm ruling out Piper right away. She didn't seem to really grasp how hard being a Mysticon can be at this time, and thought it was fun to be a Mysticon. She also was the only one who was not pulled into the argument at the end of the first episode, suggesting that she had no issues working with Em and Arkayna. In short, while she eventually did reach the point where she didn't want to be a Mysticon, she seemed way to happy about being a Mysticon at the start of the series to be reluctant.
I also don't think Arkayna would be reluctant. Seeing her mom turned to solid bone would probably make Arkayna feel as though she has to make things right, and she may think that being a Mysticon would help. She may also throw herself into Mysticon training to avoid thinking about her parents. Given how eager she was to start training in episode 2, I imagine that she wants to be a Mysticon because of her mom.
I could see Zarya being reluctant. She would want to look out for herself, Piper, and Choko first, and realize how dangerous being a Mysticon would be. She also does not seem to trust Arkayna and Em, so she might want to protect Piper from them using her. However, she also would want to protect others, and did seem to like the powers the suits had, so she may not be the most fitting choice for a reluctant Mysticon.
If I had to choose one, it would be Em. She was reluctant to become a Mysticon in the alternate timeline, and while Arkayna becoming a statue likely influenced it, that suggests that something could make her reluctant to be a Mysticon. Her personality also would fit this, as she can be unsure of herself. So, while she wasn't reluctant in the series, if I had to rewrite the show and make one of the Mysticons reluctant, it would be her.

Mysticons: Next Quest Episode 2- A Knockoff of a Knockoff
Sharise is reluctant to join the Mysticons, and even says that touching the disk was a mistake. Zarya tells her that they were looking for the fifth Mysticon for an important reason. They tell her about the Pink Skulls and Moon elves in danger. Sharise agrees to help for that mission, and then she will decide if she wants to stay with the Mysticons. Proxima reminds them that, while they know Sharise is a Mysticon, the machine only let the disk identify the Mysticon, and they still have to find a way to unlock the Mysticon's powers. They split up to do research, with Proxima going to the Astromancer library and the Mysticons looking through the books they have.
As the Mysticons are looking for a way to unlock the dragon disk, Piper suggests making a knockff Dragon Disk, like they did earlier. Arkayna points out how they did rip open a hole in the cosmoverse, proving how dangerous it can be. Zarya says it's worth it to save the Pink Skulls, and Em agrees. They all decide to make another knockoff Dragon Disk. They ask Doug if he still has items to make the Dragon Disk in his closet, but Doug admits he gave them away.
They quickly get a griffin for Sharise, who Sharise names "Flare", and they go to get the first ingredient, Lightning in A Bottle. As Sharise is still learning how to fly a griffin, she is having problems navigating Flare through the storm. The others help her, and Em reassures Sharise that most of them had to learn how to ride a griffin, and the only reason Arkayna didn't was that was part of her royal training.
As they continue to get the next two ingredients, they try to get to know Sharise better, and Sharise is slowly beginning to warm up to the others. Arkayna asks what kind of accent Sharise has, as she pronounces words differently than most people in Gemina, but she never heard that accent before. Sharise quickly says that she has an articulation disorder, so she has difficulty pronouncing certain sounds, then begins distancing herself from the others again. Arkayna tries to apoligize and Sharise says it's fine, but is fairly quiet while they finish getting everything.
They make the Dragon Disk with the ingredients, and go to the celestial forge to give it power. Proxima sees them and is about to stop them, as it's too dangerous. The Mysticons convince Proxima that it's the best plan they have, and Proxima reluctantly agrees. She does notice a hole in the cosmoverse starting to form, and helps the Mysticons avoid it, giving the Dragon Disk power, and Sharise becomes Mysticon Alchemist.
Not wanting to waste time, the Mysticons plan to go to the ruins right away. Proxima says that she will stay behind, as she is uncomfortable going somewhere that might have the Spectral Hand's influence. The others accept it, and they go. Before they leave, Proxima makes them promise to leave the dimension right after saving the Pink Skulls and Moon Elves. They agree, with Zarya adding that they don't want to make Sharise's first mission any harder than it needs to be.
They go to the ruins and do the ritual, and go into the ruins. They eventually find the Pink Skulls and Moon Elves, and after a fight with some strange creatures, save them and return to Gemina. The Mysticons decide to go to the Stronghold, with Piper excited to show Sharise around, even if she chooses not to stay.
At the Stronghold, Sharise goes with the other Mysticons and meets Doug and Malvaron. Arkayna tells Malvaron about Sharise being hesitant to stay, and Malvaron asks if she made a decision. Sharise hesitates for a moment before deciding to stay.

Mysticons Next Quest 2 Episode 8: A Small Argument
The Mysticons are walking through the streets of Drake City when they see a garage sale and decide to stop by, wondering if there’ll be anything cool for their new stronghold. They see an alchemy set, and Em and Sharise decide to buy it.
Em and Sharise are using the alchemy set, but find that it’s more complicated then they thought. At that moment, Arkayna asks if anyone can help her move something out of her room right away, as her mom was going to offer her a new dresser, so she didn’t need the one she currently had. Piper thinks Arkayna’s current dresser looks cool and hurries to help, bumping the table. A random vial was about to fall, and when Zarya catches it, she bumps the table, spilling another potion on Sharise. While they at first worries that Sharise disappeared, as they don’t initially see her, they later realize that the potion caused Sharise to shrink.
The Mysticons are trying to figure out what happened, and they begin arguing who’s to blame for the incident. Sharise thinks that Piper wasn’t paying enough attention, Em points out that it was Zarya who bumped the table, Zarya thinks that Em was close enough that she could caught the other vial easier and not bump the table, Arkayna thinks that Sharise should have seen the chaos and move out of the way to avoid the potions, and Piper says that Arkayna made her feel like she had to hurry and help move the dresser, Doug comes down, hearing the argument. After looking at the book, Doug says that they’ll need a root from a nearby jungle to reverse the potion’s effects. They also need decide to go to the garage sale, as Doug notices the vial bottles seem slightly different from each other, indicating the set wasn’t professionally made and might cause other problems to happen due to it malfunctioning.
Arkayna, Piper, and Sharise begin heading to the jungle, with Sharise riding in Arkayna’s jacket pocket, as she is the best griffin rider out of all of them. However, it is a quiet ride, as there is tension in the group due to the various arguments. A storm approaches, and while there is a struggle to fly through the storm, including Sharise having a difficult time holding on, they manage to get through the storm.
Meanwhile, Choko, Zarya, and Em go back to the garage sale to figure out where they got the alchemy set. He apologizes for what happened, and explains that he bought the set, but never got around to actually using it. He describes a teenage salesman saying it was a specialty alchemy set made perfect for beginners, and after being told what the teenager looked like, they realize that the set was one of Mathis’ schemes. Zarya calls the police to report it, as something like that was more suited for the police and wanting to help Sharise. As they are leaving, Zarya and Em apologize for blaming each other for the accident, and Em says she hopes Sharise will be OK. Zarya says that she trusts Arkayna and Piper to help, and that even if things do go wrong, Sharise can protect herself.
Back at the jungle, they are spooked by some animals, and are forced to run when they believe the animals would attack. Sharise accidently falls, and neither Arkaya nor Piper immediately notice. When they get the root, they realize that Sharise is gone. They start looking for Sharise, and Arkayna feels guilt over blaming her for the accident. Piper apologizes to Arkayna for saying that it’s her fault, and wonders if she should have been more careful. They decide that the best thing to do is forget about who caused the accident, and instead, focus on finding Sharise.
Em and Zarya catch up to Arkayna and Piper, who reveal that they can’t find Sharise. They look, and eventually see Sharise trying to avoid bunny-like creatures, who are hopping quickly and could land on her. Em saves Sharise right before a bunny accidently hits her.
They get to the stronghold to make the potion, but they find that the book Doug was reading doesn’t have the antidote, and ask Doug how he knew what they needed. Doug admitted that he was actually good at alchemy, at least when he didn’t break the beakers, and that seeing the potion was enough for Doug to know the antidote. They make the antidote and pour it on Sharise, turning her back to normal. They all hug, and Sharise thanks Doug for getting them to focus on the problem instead of who was responsible for it.
