Chapter Sixty-Five - The Encounters

Oberyn snorted. There was much fear within the city. Fear of each other, fear of returning to the chain, fear of starvation and death. And on top of it all, the fear of the forces without who sought to return Slaver’s Bay to the old ways. Within or without, one would need to be dealt with soon, or the city would be crushed beneath both. 

The audience chamber was full of petitioners, two groups standing on opposite sides of the room, the new and the old power of Meereen. All knelt before a dais that rose twenty feet off the ground, with great stone steps that carried them to the base of power: a small, black bench that sat an equally small, young woman with silver-gold hair and a jeweled crown that bore three dragon heads.

@moireia Alyssa Snow lifts an entire plot like from A Vow Without Honour by @damn-daemon Alyssa asks Robert Baratheon to spare Lady and he agrees because she looks like Lyanna, he has too much of an interest in Alyssa because she looks like Lyanna, she goes to Kings Landing where her resemblance to Lyanna is remarked on and causes tension. This all occurred in AVWH which was written years ago. @moireia should at least credit this author because she is copying the exact same plotline with the exact same face claim. I do not know about any other fiction Alyssa resembles but sis!fic is pretty common and Adelaide Kane is used widely. It's just really frustrating to see Ash's work being regurgitated here.

Thank you for bringing this to light for me. I know that there are only so many stories to be told, but this seems to go the extra mile. You certainly know your facts! I am going to look into this personally. Thank you for taking the time to type all this out and let me know! It can be frustrating and I hope that both parties are consulted and reach an understanding together on credit.

Update:

AVWH began on tmblr as far back as 2020, but has been published online since 2014. Myra Stark (Adelaine K.) as the main OC and noted as Jon's twin in the first chapter. She was assigned a direwolf in images around July 1, 2020. With 63 chapters it is a lengthy piece of work that would take some deep diving to duplicate. The romance follows Myra x Jaime in an enemies to lovers plot.

Little glimpses of Jaime and Cersei’s life in Pentos.

Walking down the small path leading to Myra's house, Cersei was rehearsing the words she had heard earlier this afternoon by the old midwife who had delivered both Joanna and Cerion. Words of hope and joy, words she hadn't dared to hope to hear once again. She smoothed a hand over her flat stomach, briefly wondering if she could have faith in the woman, wondering if she hadn't been wrong and if the time for her moonblood hadn't come to an end instead, but it couldn't be. The signs were all here, and after five pregnancies, she knew them all too well; the cravings, the slight cramps low in her belly, the soreness in her breast, the tiredness… Oh, the tiredness! No doubt she was carrying another cub. The thought of seeing her stomach swell again with Jaime's child brought a delighted smile upon her lips, and her mind was now wandering on her husband, and how she would break the news to him. He would be ecstatic to say the least. She could already picture his face lighting up, the glow in his emeralds shining like million little stars in the darkest sky when she would reveal her little secret. Giving another child to her brother, making him a father again, always felt like one of her greatest accomplishments. Their little family here, in Pentos, was their purpose, and they had worked hard to build it.

Chapter Sixty Four - The Rock

Myra could not say why she asked of it. Perhaps as a distraction, perhaps for a glimpse at the memory of her real mother. The images in her mind’s eye were tainted. If she conjured her face, her skin would curdle and decay, her eyes would burn, her grotesque mouth would utter the words that had nearly torn her apart. 

HANG HIM!

Since this anon is too much of coward to speak to me directly, I will answer here and now in public. If the actual author @damn-daemon (sorry to at you like this but they brought your name into this first and I want to address this as transparently as possible) has an issue with the use of the idea of a Stark oc who looks like Lyanna using that to save Lady, I will scrap the idea and figure something else out.

It's an idea for a single scene, in a single chapter in a much larger story. I came up with this idea as a demonstration of how dangerous Alyssa is to the game before she arrives in King's Landing, and it's a domino effect that will lead to her legitimization and betrothal to Renly, ideas that don't happen in AVWH. There are so many differences between Myra and Alyssa. Yes, they share the same faceclaim and are a Stark. That's where the similarities start and end. One is a true born daughter paired with Jaime, one is a bastard paired with Oberyn and Ellaria. Their stories have completely different directions, themes, and pairings. Ash has worked very hard on Myra and I respect that deeply as a fellow creator, but I've also spent a lot of time in developing Alyssa.

There is actual plagiarism happening in the fandom. I didn't copy Ash's writing word for word and claim it as my own. In fanfiction, ideas tend to overlap but every person has a unique story to tell. Sharing a faceclaim is not plagiarism. If we start policing each other over face claim choices and the smallest of common denominators in ideas, we will kill the fun and joy of making oc's and fic, which already seems to be a dying fandom.

1. What is your favorite trope to write?

Hmmm, I have a few favorites to write, but I guess I'll go with Pregnancy. I wrote a lot about it so... ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

5. The fic you’re most proud of writing?

Def "grieving for the living". I never thought I could write something like that and it makes me proud.

9. Biggest pet peeve while writing?

I'm not sure it could be considered as a pet peeve but... WRITING THE END! Of a chapter or of a fic, I struggle so bad with it, I don't even know why. Also, I hate writing stuff like "cuming" when I write smut so I try to be more creative.

16. Do you prefer co-writing something or just working on it by yourself?

I brainstorm lot of ideas with my friend Annie so it's not co-writing per se, but I don't work all by myself in my corner. But otherwise, I can't imagine myself working with someone else. I'm too stubborn for this 😂😭

19. Have you ever created an OC for a fic?

YES! I have created some children for Jaime and Cersei. I have:

Joanna, named after their mother, and she is either their first or their fourth child

Cerion, their last baby boy in AOUI

and Baby #6 in AOUI (if people follows my blog, they know how she will be named 😳)

Also, I have Myra (her original name was supposed to be Lyra but I changed it at the last minute). She is a seamstress, a kind girl with a shitty husband, who help Jaime and Cersei in Pentos. Cersei sees some of Myrcella in her.

WIP - Without You, I'm Not Me

Well hello! I'm in the process of upheaving my entire life, but I wanted to drop by and leave you a little something. This is part of my White Collar series. This is part of Chapter 3: Beginnings... I hope you like it!

The first thing he stole was because of a crying plea from someone he loved. It was Cersei of course. She had admired a pair of ruby earrings in their Aunt Genna’s jewelry box for years. They had been a Lannister family heirloom, each first daughter (or cousin if the mother was not blessed with a girl) received them then passed them down to the next girl. The Lannisters at that point didn’t have the amount of wealth most believed they had. The family had gotten good at covering up the mistakes made by Tytos’s disastrous business deals.

The Lannister name was tarnished by his lack of business savvy, but his son Tywin, Jaime’s own father, had done much in restoring the wealth that had once been thought of as theirs without question. The earrings were one of the only things that hadn’t been sold to cover debts and so, Cersei believed they should be hers. After all it was their father that was making the money again. Genna was part of the problem in her mind.

And that’s what she fed to him. The earrings were rightfully hers. Not Myra, their cousin, who would receive them once Aunt Genna died. The logic didn’t make sense to him then- still didn’t now- but he had always loved to see his twin smile, especially after their mother’s death, so he snuck in and stole them.

Jaime remembered the weight of them in his pocket. How he had sweated while moving through his aunt and uncle’s home. He had felt nervous and sick and, under all that, excitement. It had been the first taste of danger- or his first taste of flirting with danger- he could recall. He knew it was wrong, and he did feel guilty when he later heard Genna comforting a crying Myra, but he didn’t confess and he didn’t return them. Instead he left the earrings under Cersei’s pillow to find later.

When she finally found them, she had smirked at Myra’s devastated face. Jaime tried not to think about that part of the story. Cersei’s cruel reaction and his own guilt over his cousin’s anguish was swallowed up by the exhilaration of doing something so wrong. It had been a challenge and he had done well.

Or so he thought. His Aunt Genna had known. She had always known him better than he knew himself. The reason she kept it a secret hadn’t been for Cersei’s benefit, but for his. She hadn’t wanted to get him into trouble with his father, who would have been furious.

Again, or so they all thought.

Turned out being a thief ran in the family. Tywin was just a different sort of one. It had been while working for Lannister Inc, that Jaime had seen the truth behind the curtain. The rebuilding of their family wealth was done in ways that left him feeling disgusted. Backroom deals and shady practices that got results. More than one arm, nose and person had been broken on the way to the top.
