i literally did not want to write a valentines day chapter because it felt stupid but also i did this to myself because i decided to follow a timeline for this smau and i knew i couldn't just skip over it but hey it worked out ok i think

hinata calls like 80% of the "council meetings" and they're usually for something stupid

the freeloaders were texting kageyama about valentines day on tuesday, the day before valentines day when kags was working with y/n and he was so terrified she'd look at his phone and see they were texting about her

bokuto was the only person who saw kageyama drop off the flowers. who else would be up at 5 am and somehow look out the peephole of their door at the exact right moment

keiji woke up when, in his completely dark room, bokuto started shaking his bed frame going "AKAASHI WAKE UP IT'S IMPORTANT" and he literally thought someone was breaking in

kageyama's heart dropped when he accidentally said he was already interested in someone right in front of y/n he thought he had just ruined every chance with her or given himself away

bokuto did show up to join the girl talk <3 yachi wasn't able to again because of school she was devastated

did anyone's elementary school do that thing where on valentine's day everyone brought in a box they had decorated for other kids to drop their candy into? that's basically what was happening in yamaguchi's class except for half the kids had designed their box to be like those little mechanical coin boxes where you put the coin on a plate and like a cat paw comes out to take it (linked an 8 second youtube video clip of what i'm talking about because i couldn't describe this thing to save my life) TLDR; engineer majors are sleep deprived crazed nerds.

kageyama never really tried to give his sexuality a label, purely because he’d never really thought about it. sure, he thought some girls were pretty, but since most of his time was spent thinking about volleyball, he didn’t attempt to explore relationships any further. maybe he should have?

that didn’t really matter now, because now he’s sprawled out on the floor of the gym, eyes absentmindedly glancing over the ceiling. practice had just ended, and most of the team had gone to the clubroom to change. maybe he should go do that too— later, though. he’s got one main thing on his mind right now; (name). kageyama didn’t have any classes with him, so the only times he’d get to see him would be at lunch or during practice. he was curious about (name). yachi had mentioned him being gay when kageyama had tried to ask her for advice about guys, saying something about how (name) would be the better person to talk to. maybe he would.

(name) was always super attentive in conversations, giving everyone on the team tips on how to improve, and always bringing in extra snacks he’d make. he cared about his teammates.

kageyama finally sits up, his legs still stretched out in front of himself. his gaze falls onto (name), who’s currently tucking his notebooks into his bag.

“(name)-kun.” kageyama calls, and the manager’s head snaps up. “can i talk to you about something?”

(name) nods, shrugging his bag back onto the bench before making his way to where kageyama sat. he plops himself directly next to him, crossing his legs. “what’s up, kageyama?” he asks, leaning over.

kageyama shifts in his position, moving to stretch out his legs. “you’re. . . you’re gay, right?” he asks. he stiffens up when (name) laughs. was it a stupid question? was yachi wrong?

“yeah, i’m gay. any reason you’re asking?”

“how’d you, like. . .” kageyama furrows his eyebrows, his face morphing into a frown. “like. . . figure it out? did you always know?”

“mm, i definitely didn’t know my whole life,” (name) chuckles again, and this time kageyama notices how warm it sounds. “but i really liked one of my friends in middle school. i thought we were just really good friends and i cared about him a lot. but, deep down, i kind of knew that wasn’t true? like, i was lying to myself. one day, we were hanging out, and i kissed him.” he shrugs, leaning his body weight back onto his arms. he looks up at the ceiling, almost like his eyes were searching for something.

“but yeah! that’s how i figured out i was gay,” (name) grins.

kageyama frowns again. “so i need to kiss a guy to see if i’m gay . . ?” he asks. (name) laughs again.

‘warm. . . ‘ kageyama noted.

“i’m not saying you have to kiss a guy, that’s just what helped me figure myself out.” (name) pauses, an imaginary light-bulb glowing above his head. “you wanna try it now?” he grins.

“what, kiss you?” kageyama sputters, sitting up straight. “Seriously?”

“only if you want to!”

. . . kageyama did want to see if something would happen. it’s just a kiss, right? He’s kissed people before—- it was just one or two girls that kissed him on the cheek in elementary school—- but still! nothing bad would happen. It’s just to see if he’d like it.

“. . .okay.” kageyama nods. “sure.”

(name) nods. he scoots closer until their shoulders touch. he plants a firm hand on kageyama’s shoulder, rubbing his thumb over the fabric of his shirt subtly. it’s at this moment kageyama notices a few details about (name) he hadn’t noticed before; a lock of hair that looked the slightest shade lighter than the rest of his hair, how pleasant his smile was, and the fact that his hands were slightly colder than kageyama expected them to be, even through his shirt.

(name) leans in, and kageyama mimics, albeit a bit slower, and their lips connect. strange. that's the only word kageyama could think of to describe it. Just like his hands, (name)’s lips were kind of cold. it was almost refreshing. by the time all of these thoughts flit through his mind, (name) has already pulled back.

“So? what’d ya think?” he asks, tilting his head. kageyama was a bit confused— disappointed, almost.

“that’s it?” he voices his thought out loud, and (name) feels his face grow warm with embarrassment. “you didn’t like it, then?”

“no. i mean, i-i did. it was just. . . shorter than i thought.” he manages.

“ahh, getting greedy now, are we, kageyama?” (name) giggles, nudging his shoulder against the setter’s. “at least take me out on a date, first.” he jokes.

“okay.” kageyama says it so fast (name) has to do a double take. “okay?” he repeats.

“Yeah. i’ll take you out on a date. is that, uhh, okay? am i allowed to do that?” he asks, squinting.

“. . . of course you are. and i’d love to.”

- all skate! ava!rosaline, alaina!benvolio, romy!helena, dan!gregory, nicki!richard, and alejandro!henry. also daniel!shakespeare and makai!francois

- dan has a new SMTM/KAG costume, so now it's just the one costume for both scenes. he still has the blue doublet and the white belt, but now he has a navy turtleneck under it and these teal, blue, and green pants with floral patterns on them and navy trim down the sides

- daniel doing a loud stomp on "whatever. new scene"

- the hat fell of the virginal when maya and makai were playing it together so makai had to very quickly stop playing for a second to grab it off the floor

- dan was trying so hard to flirt with alejandro during KAG and he was having none of it

- nicki didn't have their crown during blow but they did have it during confident

- as joey handed makai the armor, he looked up at the sky before saying "and your mother would be too"

- makai was handed the armor from the shoulders and he made the conscious decision to move his hands down to hold it by the waist

- makai looked the saddest I have ever seen him on “ for once in your life you will not embarrass me” and then stayed like that for the beginning of everybody

- nicki made a gagging motion on “I even fell for that stupid love song”

- daniel, liam, and joey playing with the sequins on liam’s jacket before everybody when may and francois are talking

- the like 2 foot height difference between alaina as benvolio and liam (she had to JUMP for that chest bump it was very funny)

- alaina talking to daah before the couples dance in SUBG as if she was forming a game plan with him about who was gonna dance with who

- makai doing no regrets and sticking both his hands straight up in the air

- romy!helena ate, she did "guilty roads" kind of like how megan used to do it

- alaina holding the care bear like a baby during OMT

- charli doing a twirl instead of a back bend at the end of IML

- getting to see all the exes as swings was sooooo fun

- daniel looking over his shoulder then pointing at himself as if to say "who, me?" on "just won't live for someone until he lives for me"

- makai making a weird noise before "thats okay it's my party"

- makai giggling on “I don’t know”

- joomin entering super early for the preshow (he entered before ava even sat down to do the judith party section bit)

- alison going ham on the final scene between anne and shakespeare, im talking angry and yelling then sad with tears streaming down her face, it was so good

So the throat stopped hurting and then my nose was clogged and now my congestion has settled in my chest which is very uncomfortable. But at least I have Haikyuu to keep me relatively sane, right?

I'm going to watch episode 8 later so I guess I've only watched 3 episodes since I last posted? Blame my illness or whatever the fuck this is. Anyway

Pretty sure the last day of the training camp is going to be the last time that we see a lot of these Shiratorizawa guys play. Which makes me sad because season 3 did have them genuinely grow on me. I've already gushed enough about Tendō for that to be clear. Ushijima also grew on me and. Honestly just all of them. Loved the bit where Hinata bounded up to Ushijima to ask questions and Goshiki wasn't going to do anything until Shirabu said something. Cut to Goshiki like "heY USHIWAKA." What an unexpectedly fun bunch.

Okay, so honestly, second hand embarrassment aside, I think the ball boy arc was very good, especially for Hinata's growth as a character. I'd argue that he learned more as a ball boy than he would've if he'd actually been invited to the camp. He was able to watch the others play from multiple angles (like up in the balcony) and notice things that he might not have if he'd been on the court. I loved the little scene in the montage where he was off the court mimicking Ushijima and then he turned to talk to Tendō. He learned a lot and I'm very proud of him.

So about Kageyama. I'll talk more about him a little bit later but first. At the training camp itself, it was very clear that he was doing well. Excelling, even. It's obvious that he belonged there with everyone else who was invited. Miya Atsumu is a bitch (so far. I know others like him) and he really screwed Kageyama's whole outlook up with one goddamn comment. Like, you little bitch. I outta strangle you. Anyway. It was nice to see Kageyama playing so well with others. On the court, he worked well with guys like Atsumu and Hoshiumi. Also, I had to look up what the guy's name was because I could not remember for the life of me, but I'd argue that Eikichi (from Shinzen) was a great friend to Kageyama during the entire camp. Or, you know, he tried to be. He was so nice to Kags the entire time even though Kageyama isn't exactly a professional conversationalist. He even showed Kageyama where the train station was at the end of the camp because god knows where that boy would've ended up if he had't. But anyway, I just really enjoyed that little relationship at the training camp. It's always good to see Kageyama getting along with people.

ALRIGHT. SOMEONE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. COULDN'T YAMAGUCHI SERVE WAY BETTER THAN THIS LITERALLY A SEASON AGO? YAMS BABY WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED???? And that's something that can be said for all of them. Asahi can supposedly serve better than this too??? And with Tadashi I was like "is it because Tsukki isn't here?" mostly as a joke and it clearly was a joke because he was still doing terribly even when Tsukishima got back. Is this going to be like. A thing? Because they're tense after everyone comes back from training camp, yeah, but even while they were gone everyone's skills fucking vanished??? Are you guys okay??? Please explain.

EVERYONE SHUT UP I FUCKING LOVE KOGANEGAWA. HE'S SUCH A FUCKING CUTIE. Him bounding after Tsukishima and Hinata just so that he could get Tsukki and Goshiki's numbers was so cute. Litererally, no wonder he and Hinata get along so well. They're so alike. Sunshine boys for the win. GIVE HIM YOUR STUPID PHONE NUMBER, TSUKKI (which he did, and so did Goshiki, so I was happy).

Idk if it had been previously said that Kindaichi was the one who kind of like. Orchestrated the whole "abandon Kageyama on the court" thing, but oh boy. Obviously we saw Kindaichi and Kunimi being the targets of middle school Kageyama's frustration and yelling, so it sort of makes sense. But you can also tell that Kindaichi feels kind of bad about what happened, especially since he can seee that Kageyama's changed since then. When he was talking to Hinata before everyone split up, I got the impression that he wanted to make sure that Kageyama was alright. And I appreciate that. I also appreciated Kunimi's little half-supportive, half-being-used-to-shove-Kindaichi hand on the shoulder. Idk if this paragraph is coherent, honestly. It doesn't feel coherent but oh well.

Kageyama and Hinata have not seen each other in five days. They make eye contact and don't say a word. A challenge is silently put down. AND THEN THEY FUCKING SPRINT. I love these two dumbasses. And the fact that they get to the room and they're like "well fuck, neither of us have the keys. TO THE GRASS-" "You can fly higher" STOP THAT IT'S GAY

We love to see everyone acting like Hinata, Kageyama, and Tsukishima have been gone for like. 3 months or something. They've been gone for five days, you guys. Alright, I had a little cry and took some medicine so I can breathe, so let's just continue with the sillies- We love to see Tsukki being his usual snarky self and Kagehina are arguing again. All is right in the world!

This is the last time I'll mention it in this post BUT I'M SERIOUS. YAMAGUCHI I SWEAR YOU COULD JUMP FLOAT SERVE PERFECTLY LIKE 9 EPISODES AGO. IS IT A DIFFERENT SERVE HE'S WORKING ON AND I JUST DON'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT VOLLEYBALL???? TADASHI WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOUUUUU???? I swear he's gotten worse for no reason.

I'M ALWAYS SO HAPPY TO SEE ANOTHER TEAM I LIKE BUT DATE TECH ESPECIALLY. Especially now that they have Koganegawa, who is one of my favorite giant sunshine boys. Is he taller than me? Yes. Am I going to pick him up and wave him around like a wet noodle? Also yes (if I can get strong enough). AND I LOVE AONE. MY FAVORITE MOSTLY SILENT BOY. Definitely not strong enough to pick him up BUT STILL. I just love how before Date Tech showed up, Asahi was like "oh yeah, they're great opponents, I won't be intimidated" and then they actually arrived and Asahi looks fucking terrified. Someone get that man some fucking therapy or anxiety medication or something (me too, sweetie).

I LOVE HOW EXCITED KOGANE WAS TO SEE KAGEHINA'S QUICK ATTACK. Again, the cutest bean pole there ever was

I had to take a lap when Kageyama told Nishinoya he was in the way. I understood what he meant, of course, but I was just like "babe you could phrase that in so many better ways. Please learn how to communicate politely for the love of god-" That being said, I'm glad that bit wasn't a bigger thing than it needed to be. Nishinoya confronted Kageyama, Kags clarified what he meant, Noya reflected, and he was like "oh yeah okay" and was no longer pissed. And it was a good receive, he just needed to make sure to move out of the way instead of lingering like he did. He was half blocking Asahi so Asahi would've had to go around him if he'd gone for the ball (which he didn't, but STILL).

I was not on board with Kageyama's attitude in episode 7. I sort of understood why he was in a mood but also he was just. He was being a little bitch, alright? He was just being like that the whole time but my final straw was when he fully snapped at Asahi (I half expected Nishinoya to get defensive over it but them just staring at Kageyama was. Yeah, reasonable). I was just like "holy shit what is your major malfunction????" which idk if that's just a thing my mom says but that was all I could thing. Kags, babygirl, are you well? Chill out. And Tsukki wasn't fucking helping (I love this salty bitch but DO NOT POKE THE BEAR YOU ABSOLUTE IMBECILE). That being said, as soon as Kags was done snapping at them and sort of realized how he was acting? Oohhhhhhh boy. The parallel between his old team and his new team? The visual of him feeling the divide between himself and his new team now that he'd really snapped at them? THAT WAS OW, OKAY? THAT WAS REALLY FUCKING OUCH TO MY HEART. And the fact that as he was thinking about that, he immediately went to apologize? FUCKING. OW. KAGEYAMA I WAS MAD AT YOU AND NOW I WANT TO GIVE YOU A STUPID HUG STOP IT.

And I can't say enough about Hinata in this episode either. The fact that after Kageyama snapped, he was just like "Okay, and?" Kageyama was over there reliving his abandonment issues and Hinata was like "hey. FUck that. You're an asshole but you're our asshole. And that's okay." Bless that sunshine baby boy fr fr. AND THE FUCKING TOWEL CROWN HINA I LOVE YOU SWEETIE.

The reason I want to join this ask game is because right when I seen the theme of this game it felt like a sign. I just knew I had to at least try to get the opportunity to experience this. I’ve always struggled with finding the will to live. All of my life I’ve felt like it was a mistake that I was born. My birth was complicated and sometimes I think it was meant to go the other way. I don’t have any talents, passions, or dreams. I don’t know what to do with my life , and no matter how hard I search I can’t find my purpose. But, everyone is experiencing these ups and downs. So, try not to let life make you bitter/mean to those you encounter. Everyone is just trying to get through life just like you. Natsu:Hoshi has a fever and is asking for you 

Sho:Okay I will call Ru and will be home he should be out of the office it be my turn thanks baby sis

they end the live and grab everything and leave both their teams to think on everything and they regrets with tendou and some of their close friends having a look of we told you so Kageyama also quit because of their supid rivalry which just hit them even hard Karasuno went back to being wingless and the well oiled Machine that was Seijoh has now fallen apart they didn't realise how badly they needed the other 3 and how much they were valued until it was ro late now Kageyama is with A juinor League team and Sho and oikawa are living life in Argentina

Which I think is safe to say Both teams have learnt They shouldn't take advantage of people's good nature

you and rin had been dancing around each other for a while, having been friends for most of your lives, the transition from platonic teasing to suggestive lovers was gradual. it took a while to actually confess your feelings for each other, agree on a higher relationship status, and then go on dates.

you both took things slow, complacent with the pace you both set, and when you had finally stayed over at his place, the ten am morning sun greets you through warm sunlight than actual blast. when your eyes had fluttered open, you realised rin had pulled the lighter, sheer inner curtain over some time ago. the bed is soft and warm underneath you, and you paw around for quite a while, trying to find a body amongst the layers of fluffy covers.

“you look like you’re trying to find gold,” a raspy voice chuckles somewhere on your upper left. when you tilt your head up, you realised you had gone a few inches from the top part of the bed, swallowed in the middle by a sea of rin’s grey covers. his dark hair is rumpled as he peeks at you through half-lidded light eyes, a sleepy, mischievous smirk on his lips.

“you already took so much from me last night, and you still want more?”

“screw you,” you murmur as you crawl back to the empty spot beside him. “and don’t even think about replying to that.” he snorts at you, adjusting so you can rest beside him. as soon as you were settled down, he brings you close to his arms, nuzzling at your neck. “how’d i get so far down there?”

“you move in your sleep like a vicious worm,” he mumbles against your skin, leaving soft, lazy kisses. more nibbling on the skin than actually kissing it.

“excuse me?” you turn around, facing him with an incredulous look, but rin looks serious.

“you kicked me in the shoulder, then rolled slash crawled all the way down. when i tried to bring you up, you whined and nearly clocked me in the face.”

you pout. “then why didn’t you sleep down there with me?”

he raises an eyebrow. “so you can kick me off the bed then roll, crawl out of the bed too?”

your arms wrap around his torso, cuddling into the nice warmth he is emitting. “yeah, then we could’ve cuddled on the floor together.” he doesn’t answer for a second that you have to pull back and look at him. “what?”

“this is is why it took so long for us to get together. i was seriously contemplating whether i was going to admit my feelings or admit you to a psych ward.”

you pull your pillow out and start attacking his dumbass. “i hate you so much, oh my god!”

but as you arch over him, his hands are quick to pull you down from your waist and capturing your head between his hands, kissing you fully and distractingly, enough to melt you. he smirks at your softened expression. “kill me later. sleep more now.”

KAGEYAMA TOBIO—

we can not forget how my mans is clumsy when it comes to personal, emotional connections. it’s not that he’s stupid or heartless, he’s gone through so much learning on his own, most with the help of others. you were one of his strongest emotional learning point, and you had been so patient with him that he made sure to treasure every moment with you, showing how much he adored you and how much you mean to him, not just as a lover, but also as a person in his life.

so when both of you had taken the step stay over at his place last night, tobio had wanted the perfect morning to greet you. essentially, to thank you for last night, for the trust, but also to thank you for being in his life. he had googled it all of this, you can blame it on the internet for when you woke up to the sound of the smoke alarm blaring amongst the scent of smoke, and the familiar voice of tobio, swearing.

you laugh to yourself for a while, nestled softly in his covers before you wrestled around to find your clothes, only to find his shirt around the small mess you two made. so you took that and found boxers of his to wear, before you peeked into the source of trouble.

tobio was currently fanning the smoke that came from a blackened pan with a folder and through the open window he had cracked. his face was pinched in panic and annoyance, that the laughter you tried to keep in between teeth spilled, earning you tobio’s gaze that melted into soft guilt.

“what’re you doing, tobi?”

“i’m so sorry,” he said immediately.

“what for?” you asked as you approached, wrapping a mitt around the pan and putting it under the tap and cooling it down with water. you noticed all the messy ingredients for pancakes, as well as some freshly bought strawberries and cream, and your heart melted. “were you trying to make me breakfast?”

“breakfast in bed,” he corrected, sighing as the last bits of smoke came out. he settled behind you, wrapping his arms around your torso whilst he hid his face in shame in the crook of your shoulder. “it was going to be good. i was going to make your day.”

“well, this also made my day.” you spun around, leaning against his counter whilst you took his pouty face in your hands, chuckling at it, before kissing his nose. then his eyes cheeks, his eyelids. before pressing a soft kiss on his lips. as he tried deepen it, you press a hand on his mouth. “no, no, morning breath. i’m trying to stay in your life and love you here, okay? i’m not going to fail now.”

he chuckled, nosing your face before capturing your chin and kissing you fully. properly. “i don’t think morning breath is going to eject you out of my life.”

“good to know.” as you kept in each other’s arms, you remembered. “where are my clothes by the way?”

“in the wash, i wanted to surprise you with clean clothes.”

“aw, that’s so sweet.”

“that and,” he started blushing from his ears. he cleared his throat. “and i was hoping you’d wear my clothes.”

ARAN OJIRO—

you cannot tell me aran ojiro doesn’t have good dick, aftercare, and day after game. you simply cannot for i will never believe you.

as an athlete with a good time management and a well-worn work out routine, he wakes up very early to jog, kisses you on any space he can find— your face, hair, shoulder — before he writes a note to ensure you that he wasn’t blowing you off, and sets off his usual route.

when he comes back, he’s grabbed fresh baked goods from the bakery that knows him by name, and sets on making a simple breakfast. i wholeheartedly believe this man has one of those really fancy coffee machines and is a huge dork about it like, he scrolls through online to find the best materials and beans. he’s got a whole ass coffee station, okay? okay.

you wake up to the smell of freshly roasted beans and aran humming to himself. you wear his shirt and pad softly to the kitchen, smiling at scene before you— aran placing some good bread in a plate, fresh mugs of coffee steaming, and even a small bunch of flowers on the morning table.

“what’s all this?”

when he looks back, you swear, you feel like seeing sunlight for the first time. “g’morning, darling. come and sit. the only thing i really made are the coffee, which i have perfected. the bread is from a bakery down the street since i can’t bake to save my life. ‘didn’t wanna poison my s/o so early in the morning.”

you chuckle, holding the hem of his shirt to your face and inhaling the scent of him. you sit down next to him, grabbing the mug and taking an overwhelming inhale and feeling every bone in your body melt into the scent. he watches you eagerly take your first sip, and the moan that comes out of you is so loud and genuine that you immediately turn bright red while he grins goofily.

“okay, okay that was amazing.”

“i think the familiar moan clued me in.” he winks. before you can stuff his face with bread or combust, he offers the bunch of flowers.

“really?” you take them, grinning. “that’s sweet of you.”

“my neighbour, the old lady next door, saw us come in last night.”

“oh my god.”

“yeah.” he laughs as he takes a sip of coffee. “she gave it to me this morning to give it to you. she said i shouldn’t let someone so good looking go, and that i was welcome to pick through her flowers to give you any time.”

“oh wow, that is so sweet.”

“she was right though.” he comes closer, tone pitching low as your senses are suddenly surrounded by him and him alone. his hand settle circles across your thigh as he licks the corner of your mouth, making you blink as he backs down with a mischievous grin. “can’t let go of ya. got cream on ya face.”

AKAASHI KEIJI—

a lot of your firsts with keiji had been spontaneous. despite the aura of calm and collected, when it came to you and the steps to your relationship, every move of his had gone haywire in the best way possible.

so when you wake up just seconds after dawn had grace everyone with her presence to the sound of shuffling, your first thought is someone was robbing your boyfriend’s place. when you make a move to wake him up, you notice he isn’t beside you. so you crack your eyes open to see the alleged robber match akaashi’s body shape as he rifled through the papers scattered across the floor.

you check the time to make sure you weren’t dreaming or hallucinating. barely five o’clock. “keiji? what’re you doing, baby?”

he completely stills at your voice, looking up with the most guilty expression on your face.

your brain, still addled with sleep, finds the only thread for why he looks so guilty shuffling his own papers on the floor. “please tell me you don’t actually pee like a dog. in need of papers on the floor and all.”

he blinks at you. owlish. “w-what?”

you sit up on your elbows to see him in only his boxers, messy bedhead, and glasses askew on his face. “what’re you doing?”

“i—,” he sighs, sitting cross legged on the floor. “i didn’t expect we were going to, you know—”

“—make babies without making babies?”

“— and all my papers were messy because of my deadline, and i just woke up in cold sweat about it. like. you wake up, see them, and then leave before i wake up. so—”

“— you tried to clean up before i woke up?”

at the teasing tone, he groans and rubs his face. “it’s dumb, i know. but it is messy in here and i tried to quell my anxiety this way.”

“no, no, c’mere. if my legs didn’t feel like jelly and your comfort didn’t feel so nice, i’d help you but c’mere.” he blushes as he finally crawls back toward you. you tuck him into your chest, wrapping your legs around his torso. “we can clean them up tomorrow. you’ll have to tell me which papers go where though. ‘don wanna mess up your system.”

“your amazing, you know?”

“i know.”

he laughs, kissing your chin. but then he paused. “what did you say about me when you woke up? the dog and pissing? did you just think i was peeing on the floor?” you snore. “and you were okay with it?” you snore louder. but then you yelp as he presses a finger at your tickle spot.

“hey, hey we don’t talk about what our sleep-deprived brains make us think, okay?”

“Never in my life did I expect Kageyama to act like such a bastard!” Jina exclaimed as the two of you hung out at a cafe on a Wednesday afternoon. “I don’t understand why you like him.”

It was only 2pm and the weather was pretty gloomy, yet you found comfort in it. You found peace through the dullness of the weather as if it resonated with your feelings.

“I mean, he’s in a tough situation so I get why he’s gonna try and pretend like nothing ever happened.”

Your bestfriend sighed as she watched you take a sip of coffee before focusing back on your laptop screen. “You need to stop defending Kags. He’s wrong for this. He’s the cheater.”

You weren’t exactly defending him. You were just stating the reason why Kageyama was acting that way. Holding his girlfriend’s hand in front of you just seemed natural for him to do.

After the conversation you had with Oikawa the other night, you were able to gradually arrange your thoughts together. You were starting to think clear and make your own decisions, for your sake. For everyone’s sake. Even if he was shocked by your sudden decision, he respected it.

“I really just wanna stay out of the drama,” you spoke, earnestly. “I don’t plan to tell him either way. I guess that’s for the best.”

Jina looked at you in sympathy. “So, you’re gonna push through?”

You nodded, as much as it hurt you. “I have to. I don’t wanna be a single mother. If abortion is the solution, then so be it.”

Were you being heartless? Maybe. You understood that it wasn’t the baby’s fault, but you couldn’t exactly give your baby the life it deserved. You didn’t want the baby to grow up and be bullied for being an illegitimate child. You didn’t want your baby to be fatherless.

“Look, I’m not stopping you. At the end of the day, it’s your decision.. But I don’t want you to have regrets.” Jina took your hand and held it tight. “Do what feels right. I’m always, always here for you.”

Despite winning today’s game, Kageyama wasn’t exactly in the best mood. Ushijima sustained an injury on his right leg and it was crucial because his presence on the team made up for a decent percentage of their wins.

On top of that, Kageyama made a couple of errors during the game and he was a little too hard on himself because of it.

Maybe all of these happened because he’d been thinking too much about you.

Not romantically, but in some other way. He just couldn’t describe it.

He really thought you were going to tell his girlfriend about that night and he was anticipating it, but was surprised at how you handled it so well.

In the first place, he didn’t even know what led him to cheat.

He convinced himself that there was nothing really interesting about you and he already had such an amazing girl by his side, so why did he even take the stupid risk of cheating on her with you?

He didn’t really have an answer to it. Maybe you just looked extra beautiful that night. Maybe he just missed you. Maybe it was the alcohol. Maybe he was simply a terrible person. His head was full of maybe’s that it started to piss him off.

It didn’t mean anything. It was just sex, no strings attached. It was a one-time thing.

But the guilt was eating him alive because he knew that you were once in love with him and he didn’t mean to hurt you so carelessly. Heck, he didn’t mean to hurt you at all.

“Why so serious?” He felt his girlfriend embrace him from behind.

“It’s nothing,” he merely replied, pulling her to his side before planting a kiss on her temple. “I have something to ask you..”

You didn’t expect that the whole abortion process would sound so scary. You also didn’t expect that you would have to chat with a counselor prior to the operation either.

For the past hour, all that you’ve done in front of your doctor was to answer some questions for them to make sure that you were 100% making this decision by yourself and that you weren’t being pressured by anyone. They did reassure you that everything was kept confidential and that you didn’t need to worry about anything. Then you had to sign some papers and consent forms—it was a strange process.

For the past nights, it was all you could think about and you had been so sure. You didn’t want to be pregnant at this age and in this situation—you had kept this in mind.

But you could tell that the doctor could see through you as she asked, “Has the father of the child agreed to this, too?”

You had no answers to give. Simply. He didn’t even have any idea. “Not really.”

Pretty sure the doctor has had many patients dealing with the same case of unwanted pregnancies before, but there was a certain look of hope in her eyes that you would maybe change your mind.

After a minute of writing down her assessment of you, she spoke again. “Alright, then. An appointment will be set for you this Saturday morning. Would that be a good time?”

You nodded.

“Great. Now we’ll have to put you into medication prior to the surgery and...” she continued blabbing about your to-do list before the appointment.

For some strange reason, you felt a familiar pang on your chest. It wasn’t hard to think that the baby must have known that their mother was going to get rid of them.

I’m sorry, you thought silently, extending the apology to the tiny human inside you.

The doctor cleared her throat after noticing how deep in thought you were.

“We also need you to take an ultrasound scan so we can see how far you are. Do you think you’re ready right now?”

You would have said no and left the hospital at that instant. You hated the idea of seeing the life you would soon kill.

Yet, before you knew it, you had already agreed and the doctor was now placing a generous amount of cold gel on your belly.

In after a few minutes, you saw a figure of a small fetus from the machine and you were in complete awe.

Such a tiny being. This adorable little bean was, in fact, real and you almost didn’t believe it. You couldn’t grasp the thought of a baby inside you. This was a baby you created with Tobio, whether it was planned or not, it had yours and his genes together.

After all, weren’t you just like this baby, too? Weren’t you an illegitimate daughter? Even when your mom completely abandoned you to your father, she at least spared your life.

Crazy how history repeats itself. Just like the mother you never met, she was your father’s mistress. She wasn’t strong enough to be a mother to you and left you at the hands of your father who already had a whole family for himself.

Still, the real family treated you well. Your stepmom had always been nice and your step-siblings treated you like a true sister, but somehow you just felt out-of-place. You felt like you didn’t deserve to sit with their family during Thanksgiving. You felt like your presence wasn’t needed in their life.

That was why you chose to return to Japan while they lived abroad. You were fine by yourself.

And maybe, you’d be fine raising this baby on your own, too. Maybe abortion wasn’t the solution. You could be speaking out of guilt right now, but you realized that the baby deserved to live like you did, too.

No, you reminded yourself. No turning back. Don’t let your weak emotions ruin what you’ve planned. The baby has to go.

“Can I...” You felt tears suddenly stream down your face. “Can I have a copy of the ultrasound scan, please?”

You instinctively hid the scans behind you as you saw him glance at the Gynecologist’s room and back to you.

Kageyama wasn’t stupid. In fact, he was smart and very observant and was most of the time aware of his surroundings. He had excellent analytical skills and could sometimes read through other people’s thoughts.

He knew exactly why you were in there. He knew what he did to you that night. He’d figured it out but he had to ask it aloud in case he might be wrong.

The words in the stars say: I’ve read this fic so many times. Even with it being 56 chapters and 541,570 words, it’s SO GOOD. The character development Suga goes through with and without Daichi brings so much to talk about. I’m not one for angst but when it hit (don’t worry it’s a happy ending) it made this fic more loveable in my eyes. I loved the side pair content, all my favs were there. IwaOi and MatsuHana side pairs? Yes please. It’s written so well and with the dick jokes, constant amazing karaoke, and dynamic between art student Suga and bartender Daichi, I couldn’t be laughing any harder or know anymore knowledge about alcohol.

I rate this fic 10 aliens out of 10, absolutely worth the read.

I’m not one to spoil, but if you’re looking for something to read where you’ll be shouting “YES!!” and pumping your fists into the air, first of all, me too. Second of all this is your fic! This is a heart warming read full of bittersweet revenge and growth. The details for both main characters should not go unnoticed and please PLEASE if you’ve read this fic, talk to me about it.

When I think of this fic I remember awing like they do in those stupid old sitcoms and laughing at Akaashi’s coworkers with their habit of gambling. I also read the second fic following Kuroo and Terushima, “Need” by ConesofDunshire, and I was not at all disappointed. I adored the side KenHina with their family of cats and DaiSuga as married neighbors.

There’s also a short fic called “I promise” which looks further into IwaOi’s story throughout Student of the Sun. This fic is so cute and has the worst twist that ends up making a fabulous ending.
