The Old Guitarist
Artist: Pablo Picasso (Spanish, active France, 1881ā1973)
Date: Late 1903āearly 1904
Medium: Oil on panel
Collection: The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL, United States
Description
Pablo Picasso made The Old Guitarist while working in Barcelona. In the paintings of his Blue Period (1901-04), the artist restricted himself to a cold, monochromatic blue palette, flattened forms, and emotional, psychological themes of human misery and alienation related to the work of such artists as Edvard Munch and Paul Gauguin. The elongated, angular figure of the blind musician also relates to Picassoās interest in Spanish art and, in particular, the great 16th-century artist El Greco. The image reļ¬ects the twenty-two-year-old Picassoās personal struggle and sympathy for the plight of the downtrodden; he knew what it was like to be poor, having been nearly penniless during all of 1902.

Good morning everyone! I hope everyoneās well, and if not, I wish you better. Anyone doing anything interesting for the remainder of Summer Break?
Today, Iām going to be doing something different. Iām going to post two (2) times today, this post here and another later today, possibly later tonight.
Currently, I want to bring focus on a musician. Jasmine Wembankoy is a musician on TikTok and is currently trying to raise the funds to go to Abbey Road Institute. She was offered a place at this highly exclusive Advanced Diploma for Music Production and Sound Engineering.
Unfortunately, while she wasnāt accepted for a scholarship to the school, the panelists have offered her a place at the school if she could pay her own tuition.
Coming from Islington, London, she initially got into music because of her love of a certain video game. Starting from obsessively researching on how the Assassins Creed IIās soundtrack, produced by Jesper Key, was created, she has now grown to post her own music, of which can be found under the name Safii Koii.
She has grown through the years, and she is most famous for her cover of Kate Bushās Army Dreamers, by far her most popular cover. Though thatās not her only experience in being in the spotlight in her corner of the internet; after attending East London Art and Music in 2017 and then moving to Leeds Conservatoire in 2019 to chase after a degree in music production, of which she was the only black girl in her class, she has had many wonderful opportunities. She has composed her own music for a film at just eighteen, has had her voice play out of the radio, and has played in her first festival. Her GoFundMe goes into much greater detail for you all, so if you have the time please go read her story!
She is currently sitting at Ā£9,895/ā¬15,920, which is thankfully enough enroll at Abbey Road Institution as it is enough to cover five (5) installments for tuition fees! But she still needs continued support for the rest of her time in the Institution. Even ā¬5 helps, so please help Jasmine reach her goal and be able to go to Abbey Road Institution without having to worry about if sheās going to have enough to continue attending the university. If you donāt have the funds for even ā¬5, you can simply spread her story and GoFundMe!
Her TikTok is @safii_koii and her GoFundMe is https://gofund.me/1767b391
-Lyfrassir(šŖ·) and Lucy-Grey(š¤)
(P.S. She has another GoFundMe in the linktree in her bio, leading you to a campaign of a family trying to raise the funds to get out of Gaza when the border reopens. If you can, also donate to them!)

ticket sales to the rich and elite fashion houses, who then dress celebrities up and parade them around as a form of advertising for their very expensive brands
in case people didnāt know this
the Met Gala funds the Met Costume Institute. meaning, basically, the Metās clothing collection
from what Iāve read, it is the main source of funding for the Institute, which houses over 31,000 garments and accessories from the 17th century onwards
as for why the Costume Institute needs a separate fundraiser from the rest of this vast world-class museum with many high-profile donorsā¦I have often wondered that myself. in the same breath as wondering why the Met has so few and sparse costume exhibits in any given year, and why some pieces on their collections website are outright misdated
but thatās the situation, so. thatās what the Met Gala is for. itās not just rich people parading around in couture for fun. it keeps a huge museum collection of historical clothing preserved, so people can learn from and be inspired by those garments for years to come
(via ticket sales to the aforementioned rich people parading around in couture. and, in the case of guests who attend for free, the designers who make said couture and pay for tables for their celebrity models as publicity)
#because of vogue editor anna wintourās involvement#on top of raising āfunds for the costume institute#itās actually one of the big events she hses to control what brands are invited and who gets that chance/the privalege to show off their st#and I think that some smaller designers might get invited so that they can grow their brand and network#so while what we see is actors and musicians in expennsjve clothes#from an industry perspective itās a really different story#and of course you also have the very very rich mew york socialite set as well#and philanthlrpists āwho used to be a lot more prominant a part of the ticket buyers but I think thatās not as much or just not as visible#to us punters#met gala#costume institute#anna wintour

I think the psychology of Jeremy Renner is very funny, like not as an individual but as a specific location within society. Iām thinking about what Parkins (and Engels and etc) said about the petit-bourgeoisie being marked by a deep abiding terror over the instability of their own fortunes, that unlike the aristocracy there is not the same institutional guarantee of intergenerational class reproduction, and so the middle classes are terrified of every shadow on the wall for fear it could ruin them financially. So strong is this terror that this is a subjectivity inhabited by successful and unsuccessful people alike. And Iām also thinking about that Indigo F video essay about the gaylor phenomenon where they talk about how people who like extremely popular things (like the MCU) feel a deep insecurity over their own mainstream tastes and want to position themselves as being cool in the culture (thus a potential explanation for the gaylor phenomenon as a post-hoc justification for liking the most popular musician on the planet).
And so combining these two things together, to be an actor in something so dominant as the MCU, there also needs to be a similar bourgeois terror/hegemonic insecurity right ? We all heard what Martin Scorsese said about those movies. But at least if youāre Robert Downey Jr youāre something approaching a real actor on top of being one of the A-list stars in said hegemony, so thereās a certain level of security there. But Jeremy Renner is Hawkeye. You are marginal gentry in the McMansion kingdom, but you donāt even get the security of being gentry, youāre just bourgeois. So you create an app themed after yourself. The Jeremy Renner app. That is an articulation of a deep unshakeable terror at your own existence. Every time he appears on camera you can see the horror in his eyes no matter how well he tries to mask it

Destiny Matrix
(predicting some events of your life and characteristics of your fs)
ā¢ For entertainment purposes only, enjoy ā¢
ā¢ā Masterlist
Guys, destiny matrix chart is So gorgeous š , I fell in love. I am new to this, but it's so fascinating, so I am sharing with you guys. Obviously I learnt a lot from ann_matrix_destiny insta page. I explained some of her work here, rest is mine.
āØWhat is Destiny matrix chart?
-A spiritual and metaphysical chart that reveals a person's life path, soul purpose, and potential.
āØHow is it calculated?
-Based on a person's birth date, using a complex system of numerology and astrological correspondences.
š« How to see some important events of your life?
see this area(perimeter line)of your chart , this will explain many important events of your life.
šAge of getting married/ meeting with your significant other/ spouse:
- look at your age in your chart, if you see 3,5,6,19,20 at the top of your age then at that age you will get married/ meet your significant other/ start a family. Like in this chart I have shown above '5' is top of the age of 23.5- 24, so this individual will meet their spouse at that age/ get married.
ā¢ Going through Transformation in your life :
- if you see 13 or 16 at the top of your age , then at that age your life will drastically change/ you will go through a huge transformation of your life. You will change your location/ your career/ will shift to another country or city.
ā”Moving abroad/ travelling:
If you see 7,10,21,22 above your age then this is the best age for travelling or going abroad.
if you find 21 in your love line(circled part)then most probably you will marry a foreigner.
And if you find 7, 10 , 21 or 22 in this positions then most probably you will go abroad/ find your partner there .

I strongly doubt any musician has a more bad-ass start to their Wikipedia article than Tori Amos does:
[id of pic, the start of a Wikipedia article:
Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos; August 22, 1963) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. She is a classically trained musician with a mezzo-soprano vocal range. Having already begun composing instrumental pieces on piano, Amos won a full scholarship to the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University at the age of five, the youngest person ever to have been admitted. She had to leave at the age of eleven when her scholarship was discontinued for what Rolling Stone described as "musical insubordination".
