Without further ado, here are the prompts.

Rules for Shuu ship week: It can be about any ship as long as it has Gakushuu Asano in it. Any ship. Some examples are KaruShuu, GakuLea, GakuRen, IsoSano, but rare pairs of any kind are always welcome.

If you have questions about any of the prompts, feel free to reach out, but I'll explain at least a couple of them.

Polyship: it just has to be a polyship. They can be any age, it can be anywhere, and about anything. It can be just a normal day in the household for the polyship, or maybe the 3+ of them go out on an adventure together, as long as it includes a polyship.

Isekai: Any crossover/isekai you can imagine. One I've been seeing lately is the spiderman AU for Gakushuu and Karma, which can easily be used for an isekai since they travel the multiverse a bit. You can also suddenly drop Gakushuu into a dating sim game and see how he does. XD And for anyone who isn't sure what an isekai is, it's when the MC gets magically transported to another world for one reason or another. This can be rebirth but with their old memories (Mushoku Tensei), a spell gone awry (The Devil is a Part-timer and Dead Mount Death Play), or suddenly being stuck in a videogame (Overlord and Sword Art Online) to name a few.

Music: this can be centered around music (since Gakushuu plays guitar) or be based on a song.

Also, you do not have to do all the prompts listed in a day, just one of them is fine.

Shuu Ship week will begin on January 1st 2024. See you then!

Last song I listened to: Breezeblocks by alt-j and the whole time, I was thinking about Falin and Marcille from Dungeon Meshi… I mean… “Please don’t go, I’ll eat you whole, I love you so […]”

Fav colour: hmm, tough choice. I’m more of colour-hater than a colour lover (I don’t like purple, even if I use it all the time for shading, lol). I guess I do like brown a lot, when accompanied with blue. Nice combo, no matter the shade. I like brown tabby cats best (I’m more of a blue eyes lover, though)

Currently watching: some seasonal anime, like Mushoku Tensei season II.

Currently reading: I’m giving Dungeon Meshi a re-read, with the official French translation this time around. I’m taking notes for fanfic writing. Otherwise, Brave New World is waiting on the nightstand.

Sweet/savoury /spicy: never heard of savoury as a flavour, aha. Is it umami? Probably is. In any case, I’m not picky and I like them all. What I’ll eat will depend on my mood.

Relationship status: single and not really looking for a partner. I’d prefer to be well on HRT before trying to find someone, if I ever bother to go looking. I’m more of a “ride or die” type of person, so casual stuff is out the window in any case, lol.

Current obsessions: *looks at my blog* Dungeon Meshi, ahaha. I can’t wait for the anime, I’m sure Trigger will do well. Kinda hoping for a full-series adaptation! Otherwise, Chainsaw Man is still on my mind, always. I have a bunch of CSM Beastars!AU WIP, fanart wise.

Last thing I googled: “Akita Inu”, as I was talking with a relative and they said they saw a tall Japanese-type dog. I showed them pictures, to which they said “yes, that’s the dog I saw!”

Currently working on: many things… Completing my current sketchbook for student credits, writing a “scientific Pokédex” for student credits (an excuse to look into many animal species and expand my own knowledge for work later on, all while having fun with speculative biology), re-reading Dungeon Meshi, analyse the characters and write fanfic for them (starting with a Laios and Lycion thing… I haven’t decided what yet), learn basic video editing so I can make the Dungeon Meshi edits I want to see (Talk by Hozier with the Winged Lion *cough*), write for my OC on Master Poké (RP forum, there’s a summer writing event going on). I've also had this idea for a Skyrim fanfic, featuring a werewolf Khajiit who has lived a big part of their life in Falkreath. Shit happens. Anyway… I won't be able to complete all of this before classes start again *sigh*

It was the kind of rainy day where things seemed colorless amid the bustling streets of the city. People came and went about their busy lives, not paying much mind to the dull weather and dim, lifeless chatter of passersby.

A tired college-age student by the name of Mushoku Kika was hurrying along, walking at a brisk pace in hopes to keep the laptop in her bag from getting wet. Eventually, as the downpour filled the streets and only continued to get worse, the girl opted to stop and attempt to find shelter while she waited for the rain to pass.

Of course, definitely not a factor of Kika’s own biased selection, the shop she slipped into happened to be a cafe. It also, of course, definitely wasn’t as if she’d almost used up her school meal pointcard only a month into the semester and knew the location of every cafe and bakery in town by now. This particular one, however, she was yet to visit, so it couldn’t hurt to have a treat while she was waiting, right?

While there was a brisk chill to the outside air that had seeped through Kika’s jacket, the sudden warmth of the cafe was a sudden but welcome encounter. As expected from a cafe, it smelled delightful, and the girl’s eyes instantly drew to a large case filled with pastries.

Among the trays were cookies frosted to look like various animals and designs, slices of neatly decorated cake in many types, and a collection of danishes and malasadas in multiple flavors, among other things. Kika was so engrossed in her choices that she hadn’t noticed the strawberry-haired barista behind the counter, waiting patiently to take her order. Several very long moments of deliberation passed before she had somewhat made up her mind and glanced up to find she was being waited on.

“Ah, hello… could I please have one cherry turnover, one maple doughnut, and one birthday cake pop?”

“Of course!” the bright-eyed barista pressed a few buttons on her screen, then cast another glance upwards. “Do you want something to drink as well?”

“Hmm,” Kika paused for a moment. Normally, she’d order a hot chocolate, as caffeine wasn’t something she preferred to have much of on the daily, but it seemed like a waste to visit a coffee shop and not try any coffee. “I want… something sweet. Would you recommend anything?”

“How about…” the pink-haired girl pursed her lips together in thought for a moment. “An affogato! It’s like, a coffee root beer float. I think you would like one of those if you have a sweet tooth.”

Kika had never heard of this before, but it couldn’t hurt to try something new. “Sure. I’ll have one of those as well.”

“Alright-y, and can I have your name please?”

Kika accidentally made brief eye contact with the girl, who offered her a friendly smile, and she felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment slightly.

“It’s Kika.”

“Aww, that’s a pretty name! Okay, it’s gonna be a couple minutes for the coffee, alright? You can have a seat and I’ll bring it out for you.”

Kika’s flustered emotions were quickly replaced with a moment of anxiety while she passed her point card over to the girl. One day, the university was going to put a stop to her daily snack breaks and the card was going to decline, but it seemed today was not going to be that day, thankfully. She breathed a silent sigh of relief as she slipped it back into her wallet and headed to take a seat.

The girl draped her damp jacket over the back of her chair to dry, taking a seat and setting her bag on the table. If she wasn’t going to make it to class on time, she might as well try to catch up, as much of a pain as it was.

However, Kika’s attention wasn’t easily held by her schoolwork, and she quickly found her eyes wandering back to the cute barista who was now busy at work behind the counter, making espresso. She hadn’t noticed initially, but there was a name tag attached to the girl’s pink apron, though it was too far away for her to see now. Kika waited patiently until the girl finished, coming out carrying a coffee mug and plate of pastries.

“Here you go! I hope you enjoy~” there was a singsong note to the pink-haired girl’s voice as she set Kika’s sweets down in front of her.

“They look so good,” Kika couldn’t tear her eyes away from the plate. “Did you make these?”

“Yep! I bake most of the stuff here,” the girl replied with a smile. “I’ve gotta get back to work now, but let me know what you think, alright?”

Before Kika could remember that she was going to ask the girl’s name, she was already gone, lost behind the sea of people who had suddenly lined up at the counter. However, when she glanced down at her plate, she saw a note written on the napkin.

She'd left her phone number? The cute barista had given her her phone number, and Kika thought she might die on the spot.

Needless to say, Kika didn't get through much of her schoolwork as usual, and didn't return home until there were several missed calls from her parents as usual asking for her whereabouts, and the cafe finally closed for the day.

i haven't read the fanbooks, the short story collections, the manga (it has extras, i think?), nor the sequel (hannelore's house of lords, right?) yet. i'd like to think that's going to last me for a while, but the brainworms are too strong and i just KNOW i'm going to finish them all in under two weeks, tops. do you have any aob fic recs? or any other book/light novel/web novel/manga recommendations? PLEAS EI'M NOT READY TO LET GO OF AOB FJEAKFN

I've only read the ones that have been translated and for the most part they are just different POV on what we already know happened in the series, I like them, but not much more story wise. . . I think Hannelore's is set after the series though, I looked at a few on the site and they seem to be after Rozemyne has 'graduated' from school, but I didn't want to read them yet so not completely sure they all are... maybe you can clarify after you read them.

I did try to look into AOB fanfiction, but A LOT of them are spoilerly so often I couldn't follow (as I haven't read all the way to the end) or didn't want to be too spoiled. I'm looking though my AO3 history and I only looked at a few before I  decided to just wait, so maybe you or other can add their favorites.

There was one I remember reading and liking was Schlaftraum's Blessing

I admit this is what lead me to finally seeking out the Japanese website and spot reading a few of the chapters. Most fanfiction likes to focus on romance or a romantic moment over telling a story, but this one integrated nicely with the series and had a nice thru arc between all the parts and was written well. I see that the author TheChatteringMagpi has since started a few more AOB stories and they all look interesting, one is AU and the other about Adolphine, so maybe even I can read them without needing to have read everything yet. So if I had to recommend one this is the best I got as I haven't really done a deep dive on AOB fanfiction / Japanese doujinshi.

As for other series... I guess I could write more about this later with a better break down... I actually used to read a lot more when I was younger, but took a break from it, but during Covid I jumped into manga/anime again so I've been playing catchup ever since, it feels like there are more titles than ever now.

↣ In which instead of Athanasia, Jeanette was the one reincarnated into the world of "The Lovely Princess."

Okay, as i said in my last post while partially complaining about things in the manhwa, here is a post based on my AU idea of reincarnated Jeanette in TLP.

If you don't know, i made this post a while back about an idea in which Jeanette was the one reincarnated instead of Athanasia, which i thought was a really cool concept for an AU! Problem is, i'm not much of a writer. Thus, i didn't write it for some reason despite how much i wanted to make it. Plus i have other things to focus on like school so i also don't have much free time either.

So after some thought, i decided to make a post about this AU with some more depth and my thoughts about it. Do keep in mind that this AU is specifically mostly based around the novel since that's where i got the most inspiration for this, so there's going to be spoilers from the novel here and there. With that, let's get into the topic of this post.

The story starts off the same as WMMAP did, but with a reincarnated Jeanette of course.

Reincarnated!Jeanette, despite her conniptions with the OG novel, is given the opportunity as Jeanette Margarita to live a better life after how horrible her past life ended. I'm not going to explain as to why it was horrible since it would be spoilers if i make this into an actual fanfic but this post is already going to be filled with spoilers so theres that.

If you've read my first post about this AU, then you know that i have a lot of angst planned for this. What i haven't mentioned before however was how this Jeanette would deal with the fact that she was actually an evil bitch in the OG novel.

For context, in the novel side stories, Athanasia was transported into the OG Lovely Princess novel. In there, TLP!Jeanette is revealed to be WAY more cruel and condescending than how she was portrayed in the OG novel.

Anyways the reason why i brought this up is because this plays a part to Reincarnated!Jeanette's own struggle into becoming a better person despite the bleak fate that awaits her. You know, i've been watching some Mushoku Tensei from time to time. And although i have a love-hate relationship with the show, it does a great job with the protagonist's journey for redemption.

Obviously if you read Mushoku Tensei or even watched it then you know where this is going.

And i think that's why i have so many ideas about Reincarnated!Jenny's interactions with the other characters. Those she values and/or really care about serve as her drive to protect them from a fate worse than death. Foreshadowing? Maybe, let's see.

I do want to point out something about my last statement though. I want to make a reference to a post by @lithium-15 that explains about Jeanette (which i can't find, sorry if i make mistakes from here) where, if i remember correctly, stated that Jeanette's black magic act upon her deepest desires in which she wanted to be loved. I say this because even if her soul is reincarnated, Reincarnated!Jenny still has to deal with her dark magic (once she becomes aware of it ofc).

Okay back to some plot and characterization.

Since i mentioned that her relationships with other characters are very important, it's no surprise that she'll have a LOT of enemies. In this case, i imagine Rosalia and Roger being her number 1 priority (well, before Aethernitas/Anastacius comes into the picture) as after finding out their true nature, Reincarnated!Jenny goes through a lot of drama with not wanting to becoming a princess and having to bend into the will of her maternal family.

So throughout the story we see Reincarnated!Jenny constantly having conflict with her family while discovering more lies the novel covers up or just brushed off. For one thing, there was NO mention of Jeanette being created from black magic that responds to her desire of being loved, and also Roger is definitely more shady than he seems.

I also wanna mention that since she doesn't have a Lucas (and probably won't get along with him easily once they do meet), she'll have a harder time with discovering juicy secrets outside of the things her maternal family hides so things like "Aethernitas is a fucking lie" or any other thing connected to the OG TLP novel won't come up until like deep into the story.

Since i mentioned relationships in my previous post about this AU and in the beginning of this one, i feel like i should mention it again too. In the beginning, Reincarnated!Jenny definitely was pretty cold and mischievous due to how much she disliked the novel, but after getting to know the other characters she starts to loosen up and, surprise surprise becomes quite attached to them as if they were real.

Obviously it's because they are real.

I think a good example of this can be her relationship with Ezekiel (Ijekiel? idk) in this AU. In the OG TLP novel, Ezekiel is the person who Jeanette ended up with and was always there for her, but as we learn from WMMAP they didn't really have much of a romantic relationship. So it'll be really interesting to explore what sort of dynamic they'd have that made Reincarnated!Jenny come to care about him as a person and not see him as some random ass character.

ALSO i want to see her sassing Rosalia and Rosalia sassing her back! I don't know if i would follow the canon where Rosalia dies due to a landslide but i know if i do then i won't have another fun villain character. Countess Rosalia is an example that you can still hate a character even if you get reincarnated into the actual story. I imagine her and Reincarnated!Jenny having the most heated dynamic before Aethernitas/Anastacius came into the picture. I mean come on, she successfully framed LP!Athanasia and even when she was exposed still got away due to Claude's hatred for LP!Athanasia, so seeing Reincarnated!Jenny facing off such a conniving villain that is her aunt gives so much drama but also some plot significance.

Obviously if Reincarnated!Jenny doesn't take Rosalia and Roger down in time, then everyone is doomed. And because she already made changes to the story then who knows what'll happen to her. And this NOT including the mess that is Aethernitas and Anastacius...

AFTER Aethernitas/Anastacius came into the picture is when the REAL real conflict begins. I'm conflicting on whether to have Reincarnated!Jenny meet him during Athy's debutante or way earlier in life as to allude to something deeper going on in the story. Anyways, the part where Aethernitas/Anastacius reveals himself is where all hell breaks loose. I'm talking bloodshed, picking sides, tragedy and angst everywhere and some major character deaths idk i still haven't figured that out yet.

Sooo Reincarnated!Jenny, now confronted with the truth of what actually happened in the Lovely Princess novel and whatnot is pushed into an all-time low, questions if she's worthy of anything when she was the one that ruined the lives of the people she cares about in the OG TLP novel.

I think it's important that she is constantly reminded of how horrible she once was as LP!Jeanette because not only does it add some internal conflict, but also shows us that maybe her enemies her right. No matter what she does, whether she defeats Aethernitas/Anastacius or not, she'll always be a child born of black magic. A chimera. A black hole sucking up everything and everyone.

That's wne we get to the foreshadowing bit i was talking about a while ago. Yup, Reincarnated!Jenny dies! Well, not before defeating Aethernitas/Anastacius.

And i think when she destroys Aethernitas/Anastacius sorta has some irony to it because Aethernitas/Anastacius created Jeanette to take back his throne, but now she ended up killing him and thus preventing him from ever ascending to the throne once again.

Again. i'm referencing a post made by @lithium-15 and reblogged by @alicehattera03. @alicehattera03 explains that the roses of Athanasia and Jeanette's dresses has a symbolic meaning to it. In Jeanette's case it was quoted, "Blue roses mean mystery and attaining the impossible. It represents a wish that is foretold to forever stay a dream, an unattainable wish of sorts. They’re also not discoverable in nature because they can only be made by human hands, either dyed blue or made from synthetic material." (alicehattera03 post 640679287352147968)

I really like the theme of blue roses as at the end of her life, Reincarnated!Jenny was able to attain something impossible, not for her, but for the people she cares about: a life where they can be happy. But theres also the part where it's mentioned that a blue rose represents a wish that is foretold to forever stay a dream.

And i'm bringing back one of the things that made Reincarnated!Jenny the start caring for these people. She's becoming a better person by learning the values these people hold while also learning how uphold her own. She comes to emphasize and hold these people dearly. And this birthed her desire to live long enough to see them happy, because even if she has to sacrifice so much, at least it was for her loved ones.

But obviously there were some things that weren't meant to be. Maybe the people she cares about don't care for her. Maybe they did, but took her for granted or betrayed her. Still, it doesn't change the fact that these people taught her how to be a better person, better than how she was in the Lovely Princess.

And that's what made this wish of hers tragic. Because she never lived to see the fruit of her successes, and almost no one will remember that. Because Jeanette Margarita dies forgotten.

Okay, did i just spoiled my whole AU because of lack of writing skills? Yup. Did i know what i was talking about? Sort of. Did i think that the ending was pretty rushed? Of course what can i say. Was it pretty fun at least? Eeeehhhhhhhh............

That wraps up this post! I hope you all got through my crappy explanations and overall the weird concepts for this AU. Let me know if you guys are interested in a part 2 though. Personally, i wanna make separate posts dedicated to Athanasia and Ezekiel (?) since they're the two other characters that wildly differed from WMMAP in this AU of mine. Though that depends on if i still have school work to focus on since there is a lot.
