What was the first muse that you’ve written?

Normally, I would say Shanks from One Piece, but in truth, he was the second muse I had.

The first time I ever roleplayed was as this guy from an old game that once knew what glory and admiration felt like

Admittedly Garry’s Vakarian was my first muse so i wasn't very good as him but I did have a ship with Tali Zorah so that was pretty cool

What’s fascinating about Mass Effect is that the people in your crew on the Normandy from the alien species are all ‘bad’ examples of their own species - in that they don’t adhere to the stereotypes and cultural assumptions/norms for their species. At least in ME:1 (Thane and Mordin are a little more in line with the tropes of the species, to a great degree, though not entirely) 

I mean, Liara isn’t out living the stereotypical Maiden asari life, and has taken up studying Prothean archeology, an uncommon academic field for Asari. She’s abnormal. 

Garrus has no time for going by the book, is an iconoclast of sorts with problems with authority, and even by his own admission, IIRC, makes for a ‘bad turian’

Wrex actually has vision - something most Krogan have lost a long time ago. He shows a certain moderation and toleration that appears to be uncommon, based on available evidence of how many Krogan behave in the game (and how they’re assumed to behave).

Tali is a xenophile, seemingly much more at home among aliens than her own people (and even if Shepard doesn’t romance her, there’s a high chance she’ll romance Garrus if he’s available, further evidence of that streak in her). For a people known to be isolationist and closed off, Tali is very much not. She also, of course, ends up doing a complete 180 on the subject of the Geth.

I just thing its a really well done thing - most sci-fi runs into the risk of Species of the Hats, and while it is true that every species in the ME universe has certain traits associated with them, or ascribed to them by the galaxy at large (i.e. things they’re known for, stereotypes, et cetera), you meet plenty of aliens, including and especially the ones you spend the most time around, that subvert those stereotypes to varrying degrees. It’s a great way for them to essentially have it both ways - have the species of the hats, but also... show the reality, that every race is as unique as humanity.

Linhardt von Hevring (OF COURSE...)  Knows an inordinate amount about crests, legends, etc.  But is continuing to unravel the many secrets of the church of serios.  Might occasionally come off as invasive in order to satiate his own curiosity, although he’s quite caring.

Qifrey from Witch Hat Atelier.  He offers kids protection when they’re in trouble or abused..... but he does have an agenda, and keeps doing shady things like casting forbidden magic in pursuit of an investigation (not against the kids tho, he cares for them.  He does all of these things against the adults around them LOL))

Merrill from Dragon Age.  She’s ostracized from her community because she has decided to perform blood magic in order to learn about and revive a small part of their lost heritage.

Tali Zorah from Mass Effect:  Actually partaking in a pilgrimage which happens to be the pursuit of knowledge, to bring something of value back to her community.

Akihiko Sanada (persona 3)  In pursuit of strength rather than knowledge, but in a comparable way to the characters above (if not a bit uncompromising.)

Libra (FE Awakening) I just think he’s neat.

Her mask was coated in a purplish vile for a bit.. Before the suit started cleaning itself from the inside.. Washing the vile from her mask and squished cheeks as the quarian's massive gut shrank a little bit from the released pressure..

Needing her sentry bot and multiple omni tool constructs to be able to waddle.. Liara likes to tease her sometimes and makes tali waddle a few steps towards a table full of snacks.. Her suit issuing alerts about her health that are quickly ignored as she grabs and shoves a tube and shoves it in her induction port.. Nutripaste overflowing and staining her visor as she chugs and chugs..

Artificially made perfection sees fully organic perfection and crumbles before it~ she still acts cold and perfect most of the time but she actually stumbles from time to time when tali is near.. Just seeing her struggle to waddke to the mess hall completly makes her train of thought leave even if it's for a second.. Talking with shepard during a mission and her eyes slowly drifting to tali wheezing and chugging nutri paste
