‘Joji’ review: a sly look at a Shakespearean blunder
‘Joji’ review: a sly look at a Shakespearean blunder
Day-dreamers are natural self-isolationists. Give them a room, a bed, and food to survive while their imagination and fantasies provide aviation fuel for unfettered flights of pinnacle-touching feats. In the echo chambers of their minds do the perfectly laid plans for life play out like a finely tuned symphony. Trouble arrives swiftly when they cross the threshold into reality and expect the…

I badly wanted to write today for obvious reasons. Not a great day. Born and brought up in a middle class patriarchal family, happiness is something you dread. You are trained to feel guilty and there is always somebody who takes control to make sure your happiness is ruined. "Don't give shit about it" is an usual advice I receive. Easy to say, but hard to follow especially for women because emotions for them is not a A-Line kurta but more of a Kaftan and I have been struggling to get through this love-hate relationship with family. Trust me, generation gap and misogyny is the worst thing, you want to fight on a daily basis in your 20's. Whatever. I actually wanted to post a photo of myself, but everything looked way too happy to be true so decided I will skip that part. I need changes for 2023, may be have to redo my entire lifestyle. But here is things I would like you to know. 1. I decided not to be ashamed of what I feel. I am not letting anybody tell me the right way or the right amount to feel anything. I have been doing this to am extent already, but I get really swayed and confused by people saying "This is not how you should feel", but then how much do you know me. I don't care if you think I am sad. I don't care if you think I am seeking validation, I don't care about anything anymore. 2. I was brought up to be a 'people pleaser'. I smile widely at people, get to know them, ask them how they feel no matter how they body shame, say things that I am not comfortable, drains me out of the little energy I have. I have never been the person to say 'No'. I have almost always put other people's feeling before mine. And I am not going to do that anymore. 25 years is more than enough. And I am done. 3. I am going to write my heart out this year. I don't care it it offends you, I don't care if you think I am showing off or buying sympathy, I don't care if you think I have become better or worse, or this is all just for validation. But I am still going to write as long as I love it. 4. I am going to take all the love I receive without second guessing and overthinking. 5. I am going to do what I love with all I have. I might add more upon the line. (at Mundakayam) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmosOtoJtCC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
