Cricket has a reputation for being a gentleman's game, and with good reason. People who play daily fantasy cricket are well aware that there are three different ways to play the game, but test cricket is unquestionably the finest since it pushes you to the limit. Additionally, cricket has a tonne of records, just like most sports. Some are ludicrous, some are amazing, and some are one of a kind. Following that, there are several that combine all of them. Yes, you heard it right. There are some batsmen who have proudly batted in all of the 11 positions in test cricket.
In this article, we will take you through some of those batsmen who have shown their game in every position.
Wilfred Rhodes (England)
Between 1899 and 1930, Wilfred Rhodes, an Englishman, participated in 58 Test matches for his county. Rhodes, a dependable all-arounder, became the first Englishman to ever score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets in a Test match. The Huddersfield native finished with 127 Test dismissals and 2325 Test runs. Rhodes not only had a career that was generally fulfilling, but he was also one of the few batsmen who could play all 11 spots in a Test match.
Syd Gregory (Australia)
Former Australian batsman Syd Gregory played test matches from the year 1890 to 1912. The Australian player was a right-handed hitter who hardly ever rolled his arm when playing red-ball cricket. He took part in 58 Test games for Australia's national team. He batted most frequently at position five during the course of his career. He did, however, also bat once at positions nine, ten, and eleven. Syd became the first ever player to bat in all 11 positions in test cricket.
Vinoo Mankad (India)
Vinoo Mankad, also known as Mulvantrai Himmatlal Mankad, was an excellent cricket player for the Indian national team. The Jamnagar native is most known for his 1956 opening partnership with partner Pankaj Roy which set a new world record for opening partnerships of 413 runs. Mankad is also notorious for backing up and running out a batsman. Not only that, but Mankad has played every position in Test cricket and scored.
Mulvantrai Mankad (India)
