What you need to create a bootable installer

Download macOS

Download: macOS Big Sur, macOS Catalina, macOS Mojave or macOS High Sierra These will be downloaded to your Applications folder as an app named Install macOS (version name). If the installer opens after downloading, quit it without continuing installation. Download: OS X El Capitan This will be downloaded as a disk image named InstallMacOSX.dmg. It will install an app named Install OS X El Capitan into your Applications folder. You will create the bootable installer from this app, not from the disk image or .pkg installer.

Use the 'createinstallmedia' command in Terminal

Connect the USB flash drive or other volume that you're using for the bootable installer.

Open Terminal, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.

Type or paste one of the following commands in Terminal. These assume that the installer is in your Applications folder and MyVolume is the name of the USB flash drive or other volume you're using. If it has a different name, replace MyVolume in these commands with the name of your volume.

When prompted, type Y to confirm that you want to erase the volume, then press Return. Terminal shows the progress as the volume is erased.

After the volume has been erased, you may see an alert stating that Terminal would like to access files on a removable volume. Click OK to allow the copy to proceed.

When Terminal says that it's been completed, the volume will have the same name as the installer you downloaded, such as Install macOS Big Sur. You can now quit Terminal and eject the volume.

Use the bootable installer

Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps:

Apple silicon

Plug the bootable installer into a Mac that is connected to the internet and compatible with the version of macOS you're installing.

Turn on your Mac and continue to hold the power button until you see the startup options window, which shows your bootable volumes.

Select the volume containing the bootable installer, then click Continue.

When the macOS installer opens, follow the onscreen instructions.

Plug the bootable installer into a Mac that is connected to the internet and compatible with the version of macOS you're installing.

Press and hold the Option (Alt) ⌥ key immediately after turning on or restarting your Mac.

Release the Option key when you see a dark screen showing your bootable volumes.

Select the volume containing the bootable installer. Then click the up arrow or press Return. If you can't start up from the bootable installer, make sure the External Boot setting in Startup Security Utility is set to allow booting from external media.

Choose your language, if prompted.

Select Install macOS (or Install OS X) from the Utilities window, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.

7 Langkah Membuat USB Bootable dengan YUMI

1. Menjalankan YUMI

Setelah proses unduh selesai, silakan menuju dimana hasil unduh YUMI tersimpan dan buka dengan melakukan klik dua kali.

Maka akan tampil dialog “ License Agreement” yang menjelaskan bahwa YUMI merupakan salah satu proyek Open Source. Pilih I Agree untuk melanjutkan

Langkah berikutnya adalah memasukan USB Flashdisk yang akan dipergunakan pada usb dan pilih usb flasdisk yang telah dikenali.

3. Memilih Opsi Format Flashdisk

Pilih distribusi linux yang akan dipergunakan pada bagian Select a distribution from the list. Pastikan bahwa flashdisk yang akan dipergunakan sudah di format dengan menggunakan filesystem fat32, apabila belum melakukan format Pilih Format Drive ( Erase Content ) ? untuk melakukan format ke fat32 tanpa perlu harus melakukan di luar aplikasi ini.

4. Memuat File ISO

Pada bagian select a Distribution from the list sebagai contoh adalah Linux Mint. Selanjutnya muat file ISO sesuai dengan pilihan pada distribusi dengan memilih tombol Browse dan arahkan pada file ISO Linux Mint.

Jika semua pengaturan yang diperlukan telah selesai dilakukan, silakan melanjutkan dengan memilih Create.

5. Mulai Membuat

Sebelum proses pemasangan berlangsung akan ada halaman konfirmasi yang muncul berisikan ringkasan pengaturan yang telah dibuat pada langkah sebelumnya, pilih Yes untuk melanjutkan.

6. Proses Pemasangan

Tunggu hingga semua proses pemasangan berlangsung sampai dengan jendela konfirmasi yang menyatakan bahwa pemasangan telah selesai dilakukan, lanjutkan dengan menekan Next.

7. Multiboot ?

Akan muncul kotak dialog yang menanyakan apakah akan menambahkan distribusi lain kedalam flashdisk, Pilih Yes untuk menambah distro lain dan Pilih No untuk menyelesaikan membuat usb bootable dengan mempergunakan YUMI.

Dann können Sie multibootfähige Systeme aufsetzen – und wie das geht, zeigen wir Ihnen jetzt.Aller guten Dinge sind… zwei?Vor allem die unbedarften Anwender wissen oft gar nicht, dass ein Betriebssystem kein alleiniges Hoheitsrecht über den Computer hat. Es handelt sich im Prinzip auch "nur" um ein Programm, das auf der Festplatte installiert wird (wenngleich die Software insgesamt deutlich komplexer ist als andere Anwendungen). Somit spricht auch nichts dagegen, neben Windows 10 beispielsweise eine der diversen Linux-Distributionen (oder auch noch mehr Betriebssysteme) zu installieren. Gründe für diesen Schritt sind zahlreich:Sie können Windows 7 und Windows 10 parallel betreiben und damit "sanft" umsteigen.Sie können Linux nebenbei installieren und sich langsam in das Betriebssystem einarbeiten.Sie können Linux hauptsächlich nutzen und Windows 10 nur für Spiele aktivieren.… und noch viele weitere Gründe.Aber: Gleichzeitig stoßen Laien und auch erfahrene Nutzer bei der Umsetzung dieser Pläne oft schnell an ihre Grenzen. Sie brauchen die notwendige Kapazität auf der Festplatte, müssen eventuell umformatieren, dann am besten noch ein Backup anlegen und zu guter Letzt müssen Sie auch noch am Bootloader Einstellungen vornehmen (dazu später mehr).Da es sich um eine relativ komplexe Aufgabe handelt, die auch ein gewisses Risikopotenzial beherbergt, sollten Sie in jedem Fall im Voraus Ihre wichtigen Daten sichern. Secure Boot ist ebenfalls immer aktiviert, was verhindern soll, dass sich Schadsoftware in der Firmware oder der Boot-Umgebung festsetzt.Bei älteren Geräten und Mainboards kommt hingegen das bekannte BIOS zum Einsatz. Auf der Festplatte befindet sich dann außerdem der MBR (Master Boot Record). Zuerst sollten Sie wissen, ob es sich bei Ihnen um ein Gerät mit BIOS oder UEFI handelt: Drücken Sie die Windows-Taste + R und geben Sie dann msinfo32 ein. Sie werden im sich öffnenden Fenster auch den Eintrag "BIOS-Modus" finden. Basiert Ihr System auf BIOS, steht dort "Vorgängerversion", andernfalls wird Ihnen "UEFI" angezeigt.Bedenken Sie: UEFI können Sie nur in Zusammenhang mit 64-Bit-fähigen Systemen verwenden. Ältere CPUs bleiben außen vor. Secure Boot verstehen außerdem ebenfalls nicht alle Betriebssysteme, dieses Feature müssen Sie also womöglich deaktivieren. Wenn Sie etwa bereits ein Windows 10 installiert haben, das auf UEFI setzt, werden Sie auch alle anderen Betriebssysteme automatisch in UEFI einrichten. Falls Sie mehrere Festplatten haben, können Sie auch bunt jonglieren, was jedoch nicht empfehlenswert ist. Der Umgang mit unterschiedlichen Bootloadern und Bootreihenfolgen ist einfach zu umständlich. Heranwagen sollten Sie sich an dieses Abenteuer nur, wenn Sie genau wissen, was Sie tun und Sie beispielsweise alle Systeme zu 100 % getrennt voneinander halten möchten.Schritt 1: BIOS und Firmware prüfenMöchten Sie ein bestehendes Betriebssystem wie Windows 7 um ein zusätzliches Windows 10 erweitern, müssen Sie im besten Fall nichts tun. Sie ändern im BIOS bzw. UEFI nur die Bootreihenfolge und sind dann schon fertig. Diese Reihenfolge ändern Sie, wenn Sie vor dem Laden des Betriebssystems Tasten wie F2, F8, F10, ESC oder auch Entf betätigen - dies unterscheidet sich je nach Mainboard. Im Eintrag zur Bootreihenfolge wählen Sie dann aus, ob das System von einer DVD oder einem USB-Stick starten soll. Soll das Betriebssystem im UEFI-Modus installiert werden, wählen Sie immer den UEFI-Eintrag.Möchten Sie Linux installieren, sollten Sie vorher Secure Boot deaktivieren. Beispielsweise verfügt Ubuntu in Version 18.04 über einen signierten Bootloader, der sich mit aktivem Secure Boot nicht laden lässt - also können Sie es auch nicht installieren. Um möglichen Komplikationen vorzubeugen, deaktivieren Sie daher am besten Secure Boot. Windows 7 schlägt in dieselbe Kerbe: Das Betriebssystem können Sie nicht starten, wenn Sie Secure Book aktiviert haben.Um das BIOS/UEFI aufzurufen, drücken Sie sofort nach Einschalten des PCs Entf, F2, F8 oder ähnliche Tasten. Wenn Ihr PC zu schnell startet und Sie es nicht hinbekommen, können Sie in Windows 10 auf dem Anmeldebildschirm auch die Shift-Taste gedrückt halten und dann unten rechts auf Herunterfahren klicken.
