Sonic Delta Characters rewrite

One of the new Diamond Cutters, Tangle was born in Spiral Hill Village and served as her home's protector until meeting Sonic and Opal. Since then, she's developed a crush on the latter. While her energy can be off-putting to Opal, she appreciates her enthusiasm.

A withdrawn sniper, Whisper served as the scout of her team until Mimic sold them out. Accompanied by her personal team of Wisps, she works with Tangle, Opal, and Lanolin in the second generation of the Diamond Cutters.

Despite gaining favor with the Restoration's director, Lanolin is not given leadership of the Diamond Cutters, making her jealous and resentful of Opal initially. After being called out for her power grab, she becomes more cooperative.

Built to be a spy under Eggman by interacting with Sonic and his friends, Belle is a free-willed and kindhearted Badnik. Once the tracker installed in her was shut down, she was free to pursue her own path. Accompanied by her Motobud, she works with the Restoration. She currently resides and works with Tails and Cosmo.

Nite and Don are a couple who work at the K-TBR 199.2 radio station. Nite hosts a radio show while Don serves as the janitor.

Surge and Kitsunami were created by Eggman using a program called the Metal Virus. They went rogue following the War thanks to Starline. After his death, they've since broken away from Clutch's employ and are attempting to become heroes to one-up Sonic.

The comics also mention (spoilers for recent issues) that Clean Sweep Inc, or whatever they're called, make money by collecting broken badniks and selling them back to Eggman for parts, so that explains some of it

With that said though, I think it's implied that Clutch has other buyers too. Plus there's no way Clean Sweep retrieves all of Eggman's broken robots. So yeah, there are definitely underground battlebots rings (presumably using badniks with the flickies and such removed...)

There might also be some situations like Gemerl or Motobud, where the badniks have been reprogrammed to not be evil, and just chill out living with people. When they aren't trying to kill you, little robots shaped like ladybugs are kind of cute

i love to think about the sonic world because there's so much going on that sega never ever touches on. like. eggman creates thousands of robots bi-weekly, and what happens to them?

scrapnik island exists, so clearly he doesn't keep his resources close to his chest. once they're done, they're kinda just... on their own. (unless they're a particularly important bot like metal sonic.)

so, i think there's a tonnn of old badniks wandering around, to the point where maybe there's this whole group of people who take them, hijack them, and have a sort of underground fighting ring with them. why? because i think that would be AWESOME. who's gonna win this time? jack the rabbit with her modified buzzy bomber? or paula the koala with her motobug-crabmeat fusion???
