Tiruchuzhi: Glory of the Eddy

Sri Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi once composed a Tamil verse (*); a line in it translates as: 

"The ancient and marvellous Linga of Arunachala came into being in the month of Margazhi (Dhanus) under the star {Tiru Adirai) Ardra."

Prof. G.V. Subbaramayya later composed a Telugu verse celebrating the birth of Sri Bhagavan thus: 

"On the same sacred day when Arunachala Linga, the Original Linga, came into being, there occurred at Tiruchuzhi as the fruit of the tapas of Azhagu and Sundaram, an Incarnation: the Birth of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi."

Ardra is the holy day commemorating the manifestation of Lord Siva as Nataraja, the Cosmic Dancer in Chidambaram and as Arunachala, the Mountain of Stillness in Tiruvannamalai. How appropriate it was on this sacred day that Sri Bhagavan chose to manifest Himself on earth. And how inseparable are Siva, Ardra, Arunachala, Tiruchuzhi and Satguru Sri Bhagavan! 

With this thought and many more such thoughts surging within my heart, I undertook a pilgrimage to Tiruchuzhi, earlier this year.

Tiruchuzhi: Glória do Redemoinho

Sri Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi uma vez compôs um poema em Tâmil (*); eis a tradução de um dos seus versos:

"O antigo e maravilhoso Linga de Arunachala surgiu no mês de Margazhi (Dhanus) sob a estrela {Tiru Adirai) Ardra."

Mais tarde, o Professor G.V. Subbaramayya compôs o seguinte poema em Telugu celebrando o nascimento de Sri Bhagavan:

"No mesmo dia sagrado em que Arunachala Linga, o Linga Original, surgiu, ocorreu em Tiruchuzhi como o fruto de tapas de Azhagu e Sundaram, uma Encarnação: o Nascimento de Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi."

Ardra é o dia sagrado que comemora a manifestação do Senhor Shiva como Nataraja, o Dançarino Cósmico em Chidambaram e como Arunachala, a Montanha da Quietude em Tiruvannamalai. Quão apropriado, foi neste dia sagrado que Sri Bhagavan escolheu se manifestar na terra. E quão inseparáveis são Shiva, Ardra, Arunachala, Tiruchuzhi e Satguru Sri Bhagavan!

Com esse e muitos outros pensamentos semelhantes surgindo em meu coração, empreendi uma peregrinação a Tiruchuzhi no início deste ano.
