yknow for all the shit jurassic world dominion got it's still a great movie. maybe the plot and the execution weren't the best, so what? TONS of amazing freaking dinosaurs like giganotosaurus, moros intrepidus, quetzalcoatlus, atrociraptor and pyroraptor, therizinosaurus, and dreadnoughtus were introduced. and maybe they aren't scientifically accurate but when in recent years has jurassic park/world been known for its accuracy? it makes sense within the franchise! these dinos are the most gorgeous ones yet in the franchise, and there were so many references to the first movie(s) i giggle with delight; i catch new ones every time i watch it. the transition of henry wu from mad scientist to one of the good guys was great, and i liked how they connected maisie and beta! the very opening scene with the mosasaur and the crab boat was one of my favorite scenes, and the original trio of sattler, malcolm and grant were iconic as always, if not,, a bit helpless with all the new technology. i thought it was funny, though. the movie didn't solve the problem of dinosaurs existing all over the world now but it wasn't supposed to!! it was supposed to exemplify how the world needed to accept them and learn to live in harmony with them, not destroy them all or contain them to a small island. the locusts were a plot driver and didn't really do anything except cause chaos, sure, but they connected back to maisie, henry, biosyn and lewis dodgson, and ultimately were not useless at all. also... if you're mad they only caused chaos.. what in this franchise doesn't?? and at least we got closure with them, unlike so many characters in previous movies that we never got that for, like malcolm's daughter kelly in the lost world, billy in jurassic park 3, and zach and gray from jurassic world- and the mitchells' were the main characters (or some of them)!! i get that some people were disappointed with dominion, but i for one really enjoyed it and i liked how it fit into the franchise's storyline

Woah...a feathered dinosaur in a JP property that ACTUALLY LOOKS DECENT? I haven’t seen that since the Ornithomimus from Jurassic World Alive!
Tumblr media
The first shot has been released of the film that will define the Jurassic World trilogy.
The small theropod in this shot is confirmed by Colin Trevorrow to be Moros intrepidus, in a scene shot near the end of the Cretaceous period, 65 million years ago.

The 5 minute footage of Jurassic World Dominion that will debut with IMAX Screenings of Fast and Furious 9 detailed-
“It begins with something new for the franchise: an epic flashback to prehistoric times, teeming with all manner of toothy, scaly beasties (plus a buzzing, DNA-extracting mosquito or two). After a fierce showdown between a T-Rex and enormous debuting dino the Giganotosaurus, it cuts to the modern day, and a sequence in which a drive-in cinema is under assault by the Rex we know from previous movies, with a military helicopter in hot pursuit”
“The dinosaur that we love, the T-Rex, was brutally murdered by the Giganotosaurus”.
“Well, we start with the Dreadnoughtus, which was discovered not long ago, those bones. And it's one of the great things about being able to rip dinosaurs from the headlines, that we're able to see something exciting and do some research on it, then build a model and put it in the movies. The Quetzalcoatlus, which we've never seen before, which is much bigger than a Pteranodon. We're following this massive Quetzalcoatlus, and then it lands and you see all these Pteranodons at its feet like birds, and you realise how big the thing is. And then we have our first feathered dinosaur, the Oviraptor. I feel like that's going to be a bit of a headline for those who care about paleontological accuracy. Another one [with feathers], which is the one in the picture, is the Moros intrepidus. That one showed up maybe two years ago. It probably popped up into your feed, that people found a tiny, T-Rex-like feathered dinosaur. And that was one of the quickest turnarounds that we've had, from discovery to putting it on screen”.
“The idea that there would be a rural drive-in theatre right on the edge of this national park where the T-Rex has been hanging out and is now on the run from the cops, basically, it all just came together”
From Empire which has an interview with Trevorrow here.
