I'm excited, I think I have my Ashton Graymoore fandragon!

The gold veins unfortunately aren't super prominent when I put his clothes on because the Metals tert makes the outlines more silver-y, but I did get my initial goal which was to most closely match their skin tone and shading to the original character art, since that was the outfit I was going to try to mimic.

I think he's actually meant to be a little bit darker based on the second official portrait, but whatever. FR doesn't have a color/gene combo that comes as close to that tone as it does the super highlighted one in the first character portrait.

Also if I tried to copy his second outfit I'd probably want something to represent their replacement arm, and none of the versions of FR's arm enhancement apparel have the black/orange color scheme that would match.

I also have five of their siblings that didn't have the primary color I wanted for him. Like the dragon I'm keeping, they would need to be re-gened (though all of them are already Earth-element Wildclaws), but I'm willing to take offers for the siblings from anyone who wants a fandragon without having to do a breeding project.

Hm. I'm a little frustrated that I picked up a name that I'd actually like to give to a dragon from Witch Hat (Agathe), but also want to make a fandragon of a character from the same work (guess.)

I mean I do already have Gilmore all the way from before I realized dedicated fandragons were a thing (And Tomoe who kind of became a pseudo-fandragon), but I'm already weird about *that* association.

I'd say the one exception to my personal disrespect for gatchas is located on the forums of Flight Rising; Icedom's Blanket Fort of Ends (aka Nyatchapon) and similar games.

Aside from paying a portion of the in-game currency you can get from playing puzzle games on the site it's more or less Neko Atsume; when the fort is open, you pay to get visits from cats and pixel animals, optionally with a bribe (cat toys) to attract certain ones, with a spreadsheet to track who you've collected.

Anyway I'm stoked because I got like five new guys this week, which is pretty great considering I have most of the available pixels.

I respect the fuck out of that game because the cost is trivial (like 15min of doing puzzle games if you're quick), they don't do FOMO shit, and they actively take measures against excessive spending.

#I'm also biased because I'm in Ice Flight and anything I spend on cat pixels goes toward our Dominance fund anyway.#Flight Rising #Ignore Morg #Morg's FRblogging #That's the nice thing about Nyatchapon - there's a limit to how much you can buy per opening #so it's impossible to ''whale'' on cats. you get at most five encounters a day with the possibility of a sixth #and it stays open for a week #this is part of why I compare it to Neko Atsume. The cats come to you when they come to you #and outside of loyalty points (which build up from participating) you more or less see who you're going to see #there is an item that inverts the rarities of everything though so if you're missing a lot of rare pixels that will fill them in well.#I'll also note that I said ''respect.'' Regrettably there is another gatcha that I (grudgingly) *enjoy* but I sure as hell don't respect it
