🙏🏼 Happy Vaikuntha / Dev Shayani Ekadashi 🙏🏼 The festival reminds us that karma binds us all - even God! Karma is karma - even if its for charity or voluntary service. Vishnu deprived Bali raja of his hard won empire. He didn’t do it to benefit himself, he did it to help the Devas regain their regions in Swarga. But, karma is karma! Do it willingly, unwillingly, knowingly, unknowingly, selfishly or unselfishly - karma is karma!! Having robbed Bali of everything, Vishnu had to grant Bali the incomparable boon of immortality! He also has to personally guarantee his safety and make sure he becomes the next Indra in the next cycle of Manvantar! Even Vishnu has to repay Bali what he took from him in full measure! Infact, on this Ekadashi, Vishnu goes into Yoga Nindra in Vaikuntha so he can go guard Bali in his kingdom during the 4 months of the monsoon period when the Patal would be flooded with rains that have fallen on the Pruthvi. Only once the waters have subsided, and Bali’s realm is safe from deluge, Vishnu awakens in Vaikuntha on the Prabodhini Ekadashi (prabodh - lesson)! Ofcourse, God is omnipotent and though beyond norms that govern the universe, he takes on karmic bonds willingly. As mentioned in the SMB Gita, God follows rules not because he has to, but to set an example for all of us! 🙏🏼

What is the best way to prepare your home for the monsoon?
The Monsoon season in India is a reason for celebration. After having been under the hot and blazing sun for an extended period of time, the first raindrops mark a welcomed breathe of relief. Unfortunately, this moisture containing atmosphere is absolutely dreadful to any house paint on the outside of dwellings, leaving flecking
exposes due to cracks
and patchy disappearances.
When it comes to the house paint, people often choose a cheaper alternative in an effort to save money, despite taking the utmost care to ensure the internal structure of their houses is strong and durable.
General Instructions:
Ideally, a house should be painted before the beginning of the monsoon, between February to April. Before beginning the
paint job
:
Tumblr media
1. Make sure there are no cracks or leaks
It is essential to determine the kind of surface for a successful
painting job
. Inspect the walls, gateways and windows for any water leaks and breaks. Ensure these discrepancies are suitably corrected prior to exterior house painting; that way these are protected from potential monsoon destruction.
2. Walls should be water-proofed
Walls can be built out of a substance such as concrete which tends to take up lots of moisture. If
paint is applied post-construction
, then excess water could penetrate the walls and degrade their quality. Rainy season weather conditions can not only bring about big gusts of wind and a high amount of humidity: there's also an abundance of debris which can ruin house paint's reflective finish.
To protect the house against any damage, the paint must be::
Silicone-based
– It protects the wall from moisture and prevents the appearance of dark moisture patches. This also leads to safety against fungal build-up on exterior walls.
Polymer-based
– Paints based on polymers keep walls clean and dust-free.
Tumblr media
3. Damages Repair
If the house wasn't
painted
prior to the rain season and its outside walls were damaged, it's still easy to get it fixed. Contact a skilled team soon after the downpour is over and get the walls restored. Prior to exclaiming, any breaks in them must be filled, in addition to a proofing therapeutics as a measure of protection against further harm should be activated. Each leaky pipes or sewers must also be replaced so that no water will disperse out of them onto the
Wall Colour Ideas for Monsoon
In addition to choosing a high-quality
Paint
, one must also choose the right wall colours to make the rain damage hardly visible. Let’s have a look at a few here:
Tumblr media
1. Deep Blue
When applied to the
exterior of houses
, Deep Blue offers great protection against dust and looks very classy. Moisture damage is well hidden by its dark tones.
Tumblr media
2. Steel Grey
Steel gray is great to use for exterior
house paint
during the wet monsoon season. Moisture damage is not easily identifiable when this hue is applied. To get the ideal look, team this color with either black or white to accentuate the doors and windows.
3. Teal is a fanciful
Teal is a fanciful choice of
colour to paint
with, but the outcome is wonderful and strikingly pleasing to the eye. The perfect combination of brighter and calmer tones makes it an ideal option for individuals who are set on venturing outside traditional expectations.
4. Exposed brick
Exposed bricks
in the shades of brown, ochre, or tan shades can give an earthy-rusty look to houses and are ideal for people who have a soft spot for the vintage.
Tumblr media
5. Ochre

in ochre looks elegant and gives a mellow tone. During a monsoon, this color will withstand even the worst storms.

Exploring the journey of Indian Basmati rice from farms to suppliers
Tumblr media
Basmati rice has become a staple in many cuisines, especially in the Middle East, Europe and North America. The journey of Basmati rice from the farm to the consumer’s plate is a long and complex process, involving multiple stages from cultivation to supply. This blog will explore the journey of Indian Basmati rice, its heritage, cultivation techniques, modern processing methods, quality control measures and the supply chain that ensures it reaches global markets.
The Heritage of Indian Basmati Rice
Indian Basmati rice holds a special place in both history and culture. Originating from the Indian subcontinent, it has been cultivated for thousands of years, with the earliest mention of this aromatic grain being found in ancient Hindu scriptures. Basmati rice is not just a food product but a symbol of rich cultural heritage, revered for its exceptional quality and taste.
The climate and soil conditions of specific regions of India, especially the foothills of the Himalayas, play a key role in the unique characteristics of Basmati rice. The long, slender grains and distinctive aroma are the result of the region's unique soil, which provides ideal growing conditions. As a result, it is protected by a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, ensuring that only rice grown in these regions can be sold as "Basmati".
From Fields to Processing Units: The Farming Journey
Basmati rice cultivation is a delicate and labour-intensive process. It begins with the selection of high-quality seeds and careful preparation of the soil. Farmers in India often rely on traditional methods to plant rice, combining them with modern agricultural practices to increase productivity. Rice is usually grown during the monsoon season, with a keen focus on water management, as the crop requires plenty of water for optimal growth.
During the cultivation period, farmers face various challenges such as pests, diseases and unpredictable weather conditions. However, the main concern is to ensure that the rice plants grow at a uniform pace to get the distinctive long grains. The harvesting process is equally important, as the rice is hand-harvested at the right time to maintain the quality of the rice.
After harvesting, the rice is transported to processing units, where the transformation from raw grains to polished Basmati begins. This stage is crucial to maintain the quality and appearance of the rice.
Modern processing techniques for premium quality
After harvesting, Indian Basmati rice undergoes several processing stages to achieve its premium quality. The initial stages include cleaning, sorting, and peeling to remove the outer husk, revealing the white rice underneath. The rice is then polished to enhance the shine and make it more attractive.
One of the important stages in rice processing is ageing. Aged Basmati rice is known for its superior taste and fragrance, which makes it highly sought after in global markets. Many rice manufacturers use controlled environments to age the rice, causing it to develop a deeper aroma and flavor over time.
The final processing step is packaging, where the rice is carefully packed and sealed under hygienic conditions to maintain its freshness during transportation. Modern technology and machinery are used throughout the process to ensure high standards and consistency of quality control.
Quality Control and Certification
Ensuring the highest quality of Basmati rice is a priority for every Indian rice supplier. The rice undergoes strict quality checks at various stages of the production process to meet both domestic and international standards.
Indian Basmati rice is subject to several certifications, including Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and ISO certification. Additionally, Basmati rice is often tested for parameters such as aroma, grain length, and moisture content to ensure it meets the strict quality requirements expected by international markets.
Connecting Farms to Suppliers: The Supply Chain
Once processed, the journey of basmati rice does not end at the processing unit. It moves through a complex and well-established supply chain that connects Indian farmers to international markets. Rice suppliers play a vital role in this process, handling logistics, packaging, and distribution to ensure that the product reaches consumers in perfect condition.
The supply chain involves multiple stakeholders, including distributors, exporters, and retail partners. These suppliers work closely with rice manufacturers to guarantee timely delivery of high-quality basmati rice to countries around the world. With the rise in demand for premium rice varieties, efficient supply chain management has become even more critical.
In addition to traditional supply routes, Indian rice exporters are increasingly using e-commerce platforms to reach global buyers directly. This digital transformation is reshaping the way rice is distributed and sold, making it easier for suppliers to connect with international customers and streamlining the export process.
The journey of Indian Basmati rice from farm to supplier is a testament to the dedication and expertise involved in producing one of the world’s most loved grains. From its deep cultural heritage to its modern processing techniques and robust supply chain, every step of the journey ensures that the rice that reaches consumers is of the highest quality. As the demand for Basmati rice continues to grow globally, Indian rice producers and exporters are geared up to meet the needs of international markets with top-notch products and efficient services.
