Toshie Hijikata (Moeyo Ken) - Part 1
An Image collection of Toshie Hijikata from Moeyo Ken. Even thought the anime was a hit or miss, I definitely enjoyed Toshie Hijikata when she was on-screen!! She is one of my favorite characters from the show as besides being Mobile Shinsengumi's crackshot sharpshooter, she is also one of the most intelligent of the Shinsengumi Trio and the most logical member leading to Yuko Kondo thinking she’s a machine. I still wonder why she was not made the leader of the Mobile Shinsengumi?
Might I also add that she looks a lot like a female version of Sesshomaru from Inuyasha, which is no surprise since Rumiko Takahashi the creator of Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 also worked as a character designer for the show
In the original Japanese version of the anime, she is voiced by the lovely Naoko Matsui, who is best known for her roles as Sonoko Suzuki in Detective Conan, Monet in One Piece, and Roux Louka in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
This is Part One of Toshie Hijikata’s image collection. #BringBackMoeyoKen

Note
If someone wanted to get into the shinsengumi fandom, what piece of media would you recommend they start with?
in order:
1. i would recommend the Shinsengumi! drama first and foremost. it’s an amazingly well-written show that goes from start to finish with rich character development for everyone. of course, it’s not a perfect historical account (since it’s fiction, after all), but you can learn so so so much about the events that happened back then. it makes watching other things easier imo because names, dates, and places don’t just randomly pop up and leave you wondering what their significance is. watch links are here, courtesy of fabulous @nanashi1869.
i literally cannot rec it enough. it’s legit my favorite show of all time. the length is 49 episodes with a movie afterward (with eng subtitles in the works, also thanks to nanashi) so if that’s daunting…
2. shinsengumi keppuroku (1998) is a 10 part series that concentrates on different parts of shinsengumi history. the first ep is really good. forewarning that the subtitles are a bit messy in some places but you should be able to get what’s going on.
3. the original moeyo ken movie from 1966 was enjoyable, though it does have some misogynistic plot elements. i don’t have a watch link so if you can’t find it, message me and i’ll see if i can help
4. hijikata toshizou shiro no kiseki is about a half hour long. things happen lightning fast so it could be a crash course intro and you can move on from there
5. hakuouki might appeal, but there are some supernatural components to it. also, the anime spawned from its otome title, so you can expect original characters. 3 seasons, a few special eps that comprise an ova, and 2 movies that retell s1 and s2 with some new content. watch links in order:
s1: shinsengumi kitan
ova: sekkaroku (fits between ep 8-9 of s1)
s2: hekketsuroku
s3: reimeiroku
if you don’t want to sit through all of it to find out if you like it or not, reimeiroku is an absolute gem of a series, and despite being s3, it’s the prequel to everything. i would honestly recommend starting there. it’s my fave.
6. mibu gishi den is a great movie. the casting is a bit off and i’m not sure if i agree so much with how some of the characters were written, but the story is endearing and i definitely did enjoy it.
some manga recs:
1. kootetsu no hana is a one-shot manga that i didn’t expect to like when i started reading…but wound up loving it. the site says it’s on-going but it’s just the one volume there.
2. getsumei seiki is sadly not fully translated….but what has been is wonderful
~
enjoy :DDD

Moeyo Ken: Episode 11 Part 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sakon is thrown at the Shinsengumi by his allies, his big global body rolling along, and everyone scatters to avoid getting hit. Ryuunosuke fails to move and throws some more cake at Sakon, causing him to grow four times his size and bounce across buildings, showing how soft and squishy he’s become from being filled with both sides’ foods. Lan Lan then appears to try and bring Ryuunosuke back to Shanghai with her.
Okita’s shikigami, the four legendary beasts of Japanese mythology in child-like spirit form, take part in throwing slices that Miki and Ukon. The four legendary beasts are guardians of the four directions - Genbu the Northern Black Tortoise; Seiryu the Eastern Azure Serpent; Suzaku the Vermilion Bird and Byakko the Western White Tiger. That fact’s not really important to the episode or anything, I just thought it was pretty interesting.
Unfortunately, more townsfolk find themselves succumbing to more dumplings that Yaba releases, filling the sky further with balloon people. Two recurring characters, a catgirl and debt collector only just about manage to outrun the puffy pastries, with the folk behind them not being so lucky. Ryuunosuke himself is also trying to avoid fire from a dumpling-ammo gatling gun. The world as we know it would be a very different place if all guns only just inflate people instead.

Japan Box Office: Tropical-Rouge! Precure Film Makes Impressive No.1 Debut
The 30th feature film in Toei Animation's Precure franchise, Eiga Tropical-Rouge! Precure Yuki no Princess to Kiseki no Yubiwa! (Tropical-Rouge! Precure The Movie: The Snow Princess and the Miracle Ring) was released in 235 theaters across Japan on October 23, 2021, then earned an impressive 170 million yen (1.49 million USD) on 141,000 admissions to become the top-grossing film of the weekend. The film also ranked second in Filmarks' first day satisfaction ranking with an approval rating of 3.81 based on 78 reviews.
The opening weekend gross was a huge 148 percent of that of the previous 29th film Healin' Good PreCure the Movie: GoGo! Big Transformation! The Town of Dreams released in March 2021. And since that figure is slightly higher than Star☆Twinkle Precure the Movie: These Feelings Within The Song of Stars released in October 2019, it can be currently expected that the final domestic box office gross to be close to 700 million yen (6.14 million USD).
In the 15th crossover film, the HeartCatch Precure! team join forces with the five members of the ongoing 18th series Tropical-Rouge! Precure. The seventh PreCure TV series was aired for 49 episodes from February 2010 to January 2011 and is still highly popular today. That strong popularity is probably one of the reasons for the success of the opening weekend of the film.
Meanwhile, in its third weekend, Macross Delta the Movie: Zettai LIVE!!!!!! (Absolute Live!!!!!!), the all-new second feature from the Macross Delta series, disappeared from the top 10. And the first part of Free! the Final Stroke, the two-part final chapter of Kyoto Animation's Free! anime franchise, also fell outside the top 10 in its sixth weekend.
