Cairo Conspiracy    [trailer]
The son of a fisherman is offered the privilege to study at the Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the center of power of Sunni Islam. He becomes a pawn in the conflict between Egypt's religious and political elites.
While I recognised the pictures and posters of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi everywhere, I don't know enough details about this world to judge how real this conflict is.
But that didn't keep me from enjoying this tense political thriller. It's not as epic as A Prophet, but that movie can be used as a reference point. And this one has a more unusual setting.
I continue to enjoy following the career development of Fares Fares.

Cairo Conspiracy (12): Riddle-me-this... which movie can traumatise two fully-grown women?
#onemannsmovies review of "Cairo Conspiracy" (2023). A #cineworldunlimited preview of an Arabic thriller that I found really engrossing. 4/5.
A One Mann’s Movies review of “Cairo Conspiracy” (2023). Alternative Title: Walad min al-Janna (“Born From Heaven”) “Cairo Conspiracy” seems to have financial contributions from just about every national film funding source in Europe! FACEBOOK POST #3
Tumblr media
This facebook post was made on the 25th of April which is Sinai Liberation Day, the band celebrated the day on their facebook page by re-sharing a unique song that they previously Published on Mar 15, 2012 on Youtube, they specially chose that song because it talks about Sinai and how beautiful it is.
The post is a bit of both, social and branded. Its considered a social post as its about the band’s celebration with such an important day for the Egyptian society, branded as they re-shared a song of theirs that not alot of people knew about.
Sharmoofers perfectly chose the song and the description on their post by writing the first phrase of the song “ Sinaiدلوقتي هقول باي باي انا طالع على “ and then wishing their fans a happy year.
SONG #3..”Zombie”
Let’s talk a bit about the all time favorite song for all their fans, yes zombie it is. In this single the band takes on the advent of the social media influencer in the funniest way possible... We are not alone in not quite understanding what exactly an influencer is or how they came to be; Sharmoofers share our confusion as to what exactly famous people from the internet do.  The video starts out asking about what it takes to become one of these exalted 'influencers' and then spends four minutes just taking a jab at social media in general and how absurdly attached people have become to their techie devices.
Tumblr media
It also happens to feature influencers such as Ismail Kassem, Sundos Al Ayoub, Moe Hadary, and Amina Khalil. Check it out below.
