Hiya! It's my first time requesting anything, so please forgive me if I mess it up! Kind of a comfort ask, but could I please get a scenario for Midoriya where he forgets his s/o's birthday? How would he react when, at the end of the day, he remembers/someone reminds him? Love your writing ♥

The moment his head hits his pillow, Izuku is already gripped by the tendrils of sleep. He knows he should change, still donning the scuffed and tattered suit of a true hero, and icon, a persona of peace and justice: Deku. Furthermore, he knows he should clean up, perhaps tend to the mild injuries he’s sustained, but as his consciousness begins to slip peacefully into a state of rest, he realizes he’ll deal with them in the morning. 

The moon hangs high outside his room, paired with a soft lullaby of muted car engines passing by and occasional late night murmurs all outside his window that’s suddenly interrupted with a text, his cell phone waking him up groggily. It takes a moment for his tired eyes to adjust to the harsh, bright screen but he catches a notification for some mobile game he plays on his downtime. He thinks nothing of it, a mere advertisement, but underneath is another notification, far older with a timestamp of over 12 hours ago. He’s able to catch the tail end of the notification as he forces his eyes to focus, “...has a birthday today, tap to wish them a...”

Birthday... a birthday today... Oh!

“Crapcrapcrapcrapcrap...!” Izuku stumbles fully awake in his bed, now clutching the phone in his still gloved hands and frantically looking at the clock beside him: 12:43 AM. No! He fumbles with the phone some more, ripping off his gloves and tossing them beside him in the process and his heart sinks with the realization that he’s missed his partner’s birthday. 

He’s had this planned out for days, for weeks, but suddenly work got in the way and everything else just slipped like melted butter from his mind. Everything. It’s late, it’s way too late, to even message back or call, but he does so anything, tapping the familiar name on the screen and bringing the phone up to his ear. One ring... two rings... three rings... four rings... At the tone, please record your message...

“...Dammit...!” He curses under his breath, and while the reality is as simple as they’re just asleep, his brain his quick to jump to the startling conclusion of they’re pissed and I screwed up so bad...! 

The sudden beep of voicemail snapped Izuku out of his thoughts, and he forces himself to speak, “H-Hey, it’s... uh, it’s me...” He’s stammering, embarrassed and rattled with guilt and anxiousness. He wants nothing more than to see them and tell them and give them the world, especially on such an important day. The phone call will have to suffice for now. “I-I just wanted to apologize... I... erm, I missed your b-birthday, dear, and... um... I-I... want to make it up to you--it’s just... today was busy, w-with work and all, a-and, th-that’s not... it’s not an excuse, I know, just... I’ll make it up to you, I promise...” He lets out a soft, tired sigh, already feeling a slight weight left from his shoulders and he smiles slightly to himself, “...I love you so much. I’ll talk to you later... Heh, s-sweet dreams, okay...?” Izuku hardly remembers ending the call before letting himself fall back into the sheets of his bed and drift quietly off to sleep. 

When he awakes the following morning, late after the sun has since risen over the horizon, he’s greeted with a single text message, that familiar name in bold across the top: [Just saw the news this morning. You had a wild day, sweetie, I hope you’re safe! It’s okay, just worry about resting for now! I love you!

Y’know, the more I read about the sort of dude who joins the alt right the more it reminds me of myself when I found forms of feminism I now disavow

I knew being obligate kinky could be a potential barrier—i’d spent entire evenings punishing myself for existing by reading Dworkin, because I hated myself—so i asked up front if i was welcome.

They said yes, as long as I agreed to the rules. There were a lot of rules, and I wasn’t at all sure I agreed with all of them, but I figured I could pretend and see how I felt.

And like that kid in the article, I actually never stopped doubting. Not really. But the more I got into it, the more the invidious hand of the Patriarchy had gotten into everything, like society’s turbocharged surreptitious ass grabber. And the more I felt—just like that kid—that I knew something about the world that others didn’t. Even though it was the exact opposite thing that kid “knew.”

And when the purges happened as they periodically did I just... I don’t know. I didn’t like them. But every time someone who wasn’t me got kicked out, it wasn’t me. I belonged. I was in.

Well, that was interesting! I have lots of thoughts about this one! Mostly though, Evie really needs some love! Poor darling cannot even believe anyone can like doing things for her, or even just being with her! Definitely in need of therapy and kindness.

Thought about the illusion of freedom in there. The Affini have a very very loose definition of consent if they consider pushing someone's buttons into giving in leading to anything even remotely voluntary. I guess that's where the noncon comes in. But to be fair, there is this kind of fantasy of someone helping us even without us understanding what is good for us. Bakugou’s guttural groan of annoyance is more like a searing, flaming roar as it frightens off a few stray birds from the trees high above them. Kirishima bellows out a hearty laugh, followed by an ignored attempt at telling his explosive companion to simply chill out. With the sun’s sinking rays now merely peeking over the treetops and letting the surrounding sights bathe in a glow of bright, tangerine orange, Kirishima begins to speak again, “Hey, uh... We should probably head back. It’s starting to get late.” 

Bakugou pauses and takes a quick glance about the forest, as if it’s the first time he’s really decided to indulge in the sight of the sunset-stained trees, it’s bright orange hues mingling with natural vibrant greens. The blonde merely shrugs and sets off on a direction all his own. Kirishima’s sudden concerns are simply met with a quick and curt growl, “Let’s go.”

“H-Hey, wait up!” Kirishima tries again, this time taking a step to intercept the other’s path, “I really don’t think this is the way back to camp. The others are probably--” But he’s cut off, a harsh snarl of assertion thrown up into the open. Bakugou knows where he’s going, or so he claims, but as the redhead glances about to find that the orange creamsicle landscape is now melting into shadow hues of purples, blacks and blues. Bakugou certainly won’t admit it, but this shortcut of his is actually prolonging their time in the wilderness; he doesn’t know where he’s going. 

Rather than push the already obvious statement out into the air between them, Kirishima grins at the sudden idea that races across his head and he races over to cut Bakugou once more, “Dude, dudedudedude--I have an idea! I know a way to get back to camp faster! We’ll get help--”

“We don’t need any damn--!”

“Nah, hang on! Listen to me!” Kirishima is, admittedly, a smidgen too excited for this plan of his, evident by the childish grin on his face and exaggerated hands flying about around him. “Okay, so, I harden myself up, right? Then you go ahead and make this massive explosion that shoots me up like a rocket! Then--oh, yeah!--Then, I’ll call for help--o-or! I’ll at least just see which way camp is! It’s foolproof dude!”

Bakugou’s expression hardly changes, an ever present scowl in the darkening shadows of the sunset, “That... sounds like the absolute dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.” Then a sly, crooked smirk, “...Better hang on, Weird Hair, because I’ll blow you up sky high!”
