The Sound of Soft Hoofsteps hitting the carpeted flooring alerted Twilight from the book she had been reading for the past couple...hours?

Had it been hours? Looking up at the stain glass ceiling far off she noticed the sun had moved 4 degrees from its previous spot, but still stood high in the sky. Ok good she could do something productive for today…..or maybe just one more chapter.

“Hey Twilight, where's the botanical section?” Fluttershy called out looking incredibly confused at the mountains of shelving and books.

“Oh Hey Fluttershy great question so the library has recently been reorganized by genre, letter and numerical order. So Botanicals would of course be under the nonfiction section under B and if you look at this section here…” Twilight continued babbling on until they finally stumbled onto the book Fluttershy had been looking for.

“Unlocking The Healing Properties of Herbs?” Twilight reads the title confused. “What's this for?”

Fluttershy picks the book up with her feathers. “Well as you know I run a sanctuary for the lame and injured.”

“Yes I know that. Have you thought of hiring some workers or getting some volunteers at least? That place is huge and it's only gonna get bigger as more newspapers write about it.” Twilight casually implied as she started walking over to the front desk.

“I’ll do that when you finally hire a librarian and some groundskeepers as well” Fluttershy quipped back

Caught off guard, Twilight stopped in her tracks surprised at the random snarky comment coming from the yellow pony she raised an eyebrow at her friend.

Fluttershy sighed “Sorry, its critter flu season and I have a lot on my hooves right now...I need to get through this season before I begin to think about...volunteers”

“Its Okay Shy I get it, I can be a bit sarcastic sometimes”

This time Fluttershy threw her an eyebrow and Twilight tactically ignored it. Well she tried to until she tripped over her own feathers and fell to the floor right behind the checkout desk landing with an audible hoof.

Fluttershy chuckled, "Still not used to them, I see."

“They kinda drag sometimes to the floor If I don’t notice.” Twilight said grunting back up to her standing position. “Seriously, how do you manage with such long flight feathers and long hair as well?”

Tired Fluttershy just serenely smiled “Practice”

Twilight chuckled “I think I like tired Fluttershy she has, what Rarity would usually say, ‘she has some sass to her’” Twilight air quoted with her wings feathers then winced because she's not used to using those muscles. Crap she can hear Rainbow’s voice in her head saying something like you need to stretch and exercise those muscles and joint if you anna enjoy flight!

“so why are you getting that book again?”

“Well, Because of Critter Flu season so many little animals have been crawling in from everywhere for treatment and by the time I’ve get through every critter, I have almost none left over for the my more serious cases. And I honestly don't know what to do because the next scheduled shipment to arrive is next week and I don’t know if my supply can last till then”

“Oh that does sound difficult maybe I can send word to Celestia for faster transit?”

“Ummm that's a lot...to ask for.” and before Twilight could object “But, but as I was walking through the market I bumped into TreeHugger who's visiting ponyville and she recommended I could get some herbs and moss to just treat the milder symptoms so I can last till the next shipment arrival.

“Uhhhh I guess could work maybe?”

Twilight's disbelief didn't seem to deter FLuttershy shy as she beamed excitedly at her friend “Yeah I hope so too”

“Wish you luck...Luck”

Fluttershy hummed in renewed excitement at the prospect of her idea. “Oh I almost forgot what were you reading about that's got you so engrossed?”

“Oh uh about the Grogar age of darkness and the Pillars of Harmony defeating them.”

“Uuuuhh haven't you read that book before...meticulously and with notes?”

“Oh haha yeah its just that there's kinda…..nothing to do right now” The words sounded odd even to her own ears.Her twilight had nothing to read or explore or experiment with?

“Really no new spell to learn?”

"There's always a spell to learn, but there just the same components rehashed over and over or just powered up to a higher level. I mean, how much more do I need to expand my telekinesis range.” As an example, she lit up the whole of the library section and then some.

“I need something new, something exciting, something that hasn't been researched or learned about much, something that pushes the edges of known magic as it is.” Her wings unconsciously opened wide as she stared onward to the mosaic and past.

Fluttershy seemed a bit ruffled by this sudden declaration.

“Umm so I’ll take my book now”

“Oh oops sorry” the pink aura returned back to Twilight horn and she proceeded to check out Fluttershy's book.

“You know Twilight you seem a little.... all over the place lately kinda bored and yet busy at the same time it's…. it's like you're distracting yourself from something?”

“What? No I just need something to stimulate my mind at the moment”

Fluttershy squinted the alicorn. And because said alicorn didn't know how to control her wings yet, they sadly betrayed her unconscious thoughts. Twilight's wings where were scrunched up uncomfortably and some feathers were poking out oddly. What was she avoiding? But before she could Fluttershy could dig deeper the sound of the town clock alerted her and she was quickly reminded of her own predicament. Well whatever was the matter Fluttershy was too tired and too busy to care, let the other mane six deal with this, she had a dozen squirrels waiting for her.

“Alright you can play this game but you will have to face whatever this is your avoiding sooner or later.”

Twilight sighed annoyed “no I'm just legitimately bored Shy”

“Hmm you and Discord as well” Fluttershy mummbled

“Come again?”

“He keeps whining that I don't spend enough time with him and I keep telling he needs to find someone else to cause mischief with” Fluttershy trailed off as she opened the front door to exit not noticing Twilights sudden stillness and unresponsiveness, maybe she went back to reading her book.

But had Fluttershy looked at Twilight she would have seen the little alicorn’s comically wide eyes with her feathers puffed up haphazardly and ears pricked to the high heavens.

For Celestia Sakes, how had she not thought of that!?

How could Twilight, the so-called scientist herself, never bothered inspecting the most magically curious specimen of them all!? Who but the most unpredictable magical creature of all equestria could occupy her time for the next week or even for the next couple of months?

Twilights. Mind. Was. Blown.

Another ship piece recently finished.

I personally think Fluttershy and Tree Hugger would make an adorable couple. Not only do the two share a similar vibe, with calm personality that would sparkle very little conflict, but they would have a lot of potential to learn from each other. Fluttershy could learn to come out of her comfort zone more often thanks to Tree Hugger’s unique lifestyle while Fluttershy has her secret courageous side Tree Hugger could easily benefit to learn from.

MLP Trashy to Classy: Fluttershy 🦋 Aw, the quiet pony. She was always the sweetheart of the group and many that a lot of introverted, shy and gentle people could relate to. When it came to Fluttershy's dress I felt like I should go for more elegant flow especially since that's what she also was going for in the episode, so that's what I did here. And I decided to give her like a sun hat with eggs on it just like how in her picture she has a nest on her head. I really enjoyed designing this outfit I hope you you all like it too.
