Saji's Thoughts on Saitama Division
Sayaka Miyuki
"I've never met her, but anybody who's a true rap fan can remember the woman who helped bring TDD to life. She seems like a really nice person. I admit... I've never had a 'mom-figure' in my life. Hell, the closest thing I've received to a parent's love was from my old master. ...But Kaori's mother... she was nice enough. I think she and Sayaka would get along pretty well."
Lola Takahashi
"Yeong could speak more about this woman than I could. Apparently, the two of them are friends since they're both in the model industry. I see her and her friends a lot, either at a bar, or a nightclub. But you wanna know something odd? We (DSC) go to a variety of clubs and bars all around Japan, and at each one, we always see her there. I wonder if Yeong is secretly sending us to locations where she knows she'll be. I certainly would put it past the guy..."
Kureha Koizumi
"Kureha-chan. She and I go to the same school, but we don't really attend a lot of classes together. She's more into art, while me... I'm just trying to get out of school as quickly as I can. I should really figure out a game plan... Anyway, I hear she's really famous online because of her artwork. I've seen some of the stuff she's painted, and I'll admit, its pretty cool. Vito has been asking me to introduce her to him, but she doesn't really seem like a people person. ...Oh well, I'll see what I can do, I guess."
Femme Fatale
"I wonder why exactly Sayaka-san formed a team for the D.R.B. I mean, I'm not doubting her rapping prowess. After all, as I stated, she did create one of the greatest rap supergroups in history. But she doesn't really seem to be into this tournament. Of course, I don't really have room to talk. ...But anyway, if we happen to go up against them, we should be careful. Even if they haven't had any battles up until now, they're still dangerous, and I know they won't go down easy."

Hinagiku (longfic - 2)
Jeon Jungkook
— Harumi, olha!

Catherine: Full Body first details, screenshots
■ Juvenille Adult Horror! Atlus’ Controversial Title Evolves into a “Bigger Controversial Title”!
Catherine, an action adventure game from Atlus released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, was a major hit that received high praise, won many awards, and shipped one million units worldwide.
The game, which is based on the theme of “juvenile adults,” attracted many users with its highly original story and game design that asks questions of players’ “basic knowledge” to their “view on life (ethics?)” through the romance of adults. Catherine supports not only drama, but also a complete level of puzzle action. While there were of course players in Japan, tournaments and the like were even held overseas that used the game’s competitive battle feature.
It has been six years since Catherine was released. The voices longing for a remake or port have never ceased, and now “Atlus’ Legendary Controversial Title” has matured into a “Bigger” controversial title, which will appear on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
■ Seven Nights of Nightmares Return! The Love Triangle Matures into a Love Quadrangle!?
“New episodes” that push forward the “Catherine-style path of righteousness” have been added. With three “Catherines” appearing, the love triangle around Vincent will mature into a love quadrangle. (Devolve?) The third “Catherine” will invite players to a new story that puts their values to the test.
And of course, Atlus is not stopping at episodes for the new “Catherine.” Catherine and Katherine, the dual heroines from the original Catherine, will also have additional endings. All of the “Catherines” are even more aggressive, even more erotic, and even more stylish. All of you Vincents around the world better watch out!
With other additions such as new anime movies and many new bold and sexy events, you can taste the full body of the new “Catherine” from head to toe.
—New episodes have been added.
—New characters will appear.
—Super mature new developments for all Catherines
■ This is the Definitive Edition of Catherine!!
Good news for players who were not fond of the puzzle genre when the original version of Catherine was released.
In Catherine: Full Body, functionality related to improving playability has been drastically enhanced to allow anyone to play Catherine until the end. Through groundbreaking systems unheard of in a puzzle action game, anyone will be able to enjoy the game from start to finish.
For players who want to enjoy and master even deeper puzzle action, Catherine: Full Body also offers a new mode with bold arrangements in addition to the “Original Mode,” which includes the same puzzle stages from the original version of Catherine.
And through convincing feedback, the two-times more delicious definitive edition of Catherine will also offer new experiences to fans of frequently dying in video games. And even to players who played the original version of Catherine, players who are good at puzzles and action, and players who are not good at puzzles. With drastically improved playability, Catherine: Full Body is the definitive edition of Catherine in every way possible.
—Even players of the original version can experience puzzles anew through the new gameplay mode.
—Busy players and story-only players, too, can enjoy the story without any stress.
■ Characters
New Character: Rin (voiced by Aya Hirano) The pretty and mysterious third “Catherine” appears!
A pianist recently hired by the bar Stray Sheep. She has an extremely straightforward and gentle personality. The occasional glimpse of her behavior gives off the impression she is considerably lacking in common sense.
Other than her moniker, “Rin,” her age and real name are unknown, and her beautiful face and mysteriousness attracts the attention of those around her. (Rin, however, is unaware of this herself.)
She supports Vincent, who is taunted by his nightmares, and becomes a healing presence that exemplifies new values.
Vincent (voiced by Kouichi Yamadera) An uninspired bachelor and office worker forced into the gap between dreams and reality, and freedom and responsibility.
The protagonist of the story. He is an uninspired bachelor and office worker who spends his days freewheeling and turning away from the realities of work, romance, and marriage that weighs on the minds of men in their 30s. Although his girlfriend Katherine is pushing him to get married, he does not want to abandon his desire to live a comfortable, single life.
When he meets the mysterious beauty known as Catherine, he is drawn into a nightmare-esque world in both his dreams and reality. He works as a systems engineer.
Katherine (voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi) Vincent’s old friend and girlfriend pushing him to get married.
Vincent’s girlfriend. She works for a mid-size clothing company. She and Vincent were classmates, and began dating after their high school class reunion five years ago.
A sensitive, tender woman and the type who devotes herself to her lover. She is considering marrying Vincent, and although he indirectly communicates his intention, she is becoming more and more annoyed by his indecisiveness.
Catherine (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro) A mysterious beauty who seduces Vincent.
A mysterious beauty who appears before an alcohol-drinking Vincent one evening at the bar. She has the features of a young woman, and attractive proportions that can lead a man astray. She seduces Vincent with her devilish atmosphere, and spends the night with him.
Her do-as-she-wants behavior will shake up everything in Vincent’s life.

Vito's Thoughts on Saitama Division
Sayaka Miyuki
"Admittedly, I'm not into rap as much as Saji or Yeong is, so I've never really heard of this woman before. From what Saji tells me, she was responsible for the formation of TDD, which includes the four division leaders from Ikebukuro, Yokohama, Shibuya, and Shinjuku. If she was able to put together a strong unit such as them, then it's obvious she is not to be underestimated.
"Aside from that, like Saji stated, she seems like a kind-hearted woman. I wish her all the best."
Lola Takahashi
"Like Saji stated, Yeong could tell you more about this woman. They seem to always be joined at the hip due to their professions. She has my respect doing what she does. Me, even if my face wasn't like it is now, I don't think I could do what the she or Yeong do. I have a certain... thing against having my photos taken, especially without my consent.
"I heard that she used to work in the Mafia. It must have been before or after my time since I don't recall seeing her there. I'm glad she made the choice to leave that life behind."
Kureha Koizumi
"When Saji told me that he went to school with the one known as 'Eclipse', I didn't believe him. But when I found out he was telling the truth, I was surprised. Mainly cause I didn't think the famed artist was a young Goth girl. ...Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. But... I really do admire her artistic vision and aesthetic. Many of her paintings always seem to feature the moon, or the night sky. I wonder if I can use that for some of my tattoo art..."
Femme Fatale
"I admire all of the women on this team. Though I've not seen them in action before, I've no doubt that they are a formidable team. They have a distinct advantage over us, both in experience and number of fans, so we will definitely have to do some serious training in order to win. Still, win or lose, the experience should be worth it."

Yeong's Thoughts on Saitama Division
Sayaka Miyuki
"Sayaka Miyuki, herself. I have to thank Lola for introducing the two of us. I mean, this is the woman who brought TDD into life! How could you not want be excited to meet her?! She's a nice and kind-hearted woman. I should ask her if she's open to joining my dance class.
"The higher-ups are definitely interested in her, which is no real surprise. I mean, aside from creating one of the most powerful groups in the world, this is the woman who helped create the Hypnosis Microphones. The higher-ups definitely want me to make contact with her, in hopes that I can gain some knowledge off her. It won't be easy, that's for sure..."
Lola Takahashi
"Ah, Lola. My friend/rival/drinking buddy. I tell you, I owe this woman almost everything. She was the one who introduced me to many of the high-profile photographers and magazine editors in Japan, which helped get my name out there. Without her, I never would have managed to break into the model world. To thank her, I often convince the owners of bars and nightclubs to let her and her entourage in free of charge. And whenever they want drinks, I always tell them to put it on my tab since money is no issue. Being a dance instructor and a model has its perks, ya' know!
"Of course, no offense to Lola, but she may wind up regretting helping me out, especially since my name is getting closer and closer to hers on the billboard. I'll admit, she's more famous than me now. But that's only because she's been here longer. Plus, there are more sex-starved men here in Japan than there are women, unfortunately. But just wait, Ms. Aphrodite. Soon, there will be a new name at the top of the billboards, and his name will be 'Yeong Hajoon'!
"Surprisingly, the higher-ups don't seem too interested in Lola-san. ...Although there were a few asking me (begging, more like) if I could get an autograph from her."
Kureha Koizumi
"This is Saji's classmate, right? And the girl that Vito wanted to meet cause of her art skills? I'll admit, I don't really know much about art. Though that didn't stop my parents from forcing me to take art classes in school, which I hated. But there is something to her drawings and paintings that makes you stop and think. Who knows? If she keeps this up, she could be the next 'Vincent Van Gogh!'
"...Just you know, without the whole 'slicing her ear off, and killing herself afterward' thing.
"Much like Lola-san, the higher-ups aren't too interested in Kureha, which was kinda a shock. Especially once you find out just who her biological mother is."
Femme Fatale
Yeong whistles. "I'll say this, Lola-san, you certainly put an interesting team together. It's a shame you're not the leader, though I know just as many consider you to be it since its your name on the team's frontpage. I'm a bit wary of having to face this group cause I know we're kinda lacking in experience. But... well, if we do lose, can at least, say we went down fighting, right?
"Much like the Starlight Specters, the higher-ups aren't really interested in whether our group wins or not. However, they do want me to make contact with Sayaka-san soon so that we can find out the true capabilities of the HypMic." He sighs. "Easier said than done, of course."

Aya Endo Joins "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes" New TV Anime as Yang's Adjutant Frederica Greenhill

Bookshelf Briefs 1/9/17
Cells at Work!, Vol. 2 | By Akane Shimizu | Kodansha Comics – Given that this is about anthropomorphic blood cells, it can sometimes be a surprise when the series packs an emotional and weighty punch. But that is, after all, the purpose of the anthropomorphism—Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell are memorable because of their eccentricities and human foibles. Here we learn they’re apparently also forgotten childhood friends… sort of. There’s also discussion of Eosinophil, which is more specialized and therefore less powerful against things a normal White Blood Cell can do, and a surprisingly poignant treatment of a cancer cell, which is after all only trying to survive. A good second volume, and I like these cells. Are there ship wars yet? – Sean Gaffney
He’s My Only Vampire, Vol. 9 | By Aya Shouoto | Yen Press – The pieces begin to fall into place in this, the penultimate volume of He’s My Only Vampire. Unfortunately, Kana is thrust almost entirely into the background, despite a couple of revelations about her past (well, one is not entirely confirmed, but the hinting is so heavy-handed, it might as well be), as the looming confrontation between Aki and Eriya means the hunt for stigma is ramping up. Aki currently has three with a fourth at his disposal, once Jin deems the time is right, but Eriya soon claims his second. The cliffhanger ending involves the manifestation of the final stigma as well as a diary of significance. So far, this is hanging together better than Kiss of the Rose Princess, even if it isn’t 100% coherent. I’ll definitely be reading the conclusion! – Michelle Smith
Honey So Sweet, Vol. 5 | By Amu Meguro | VIZ Media – There are no fewer than five great big beaming smiles in this volume. Nao and Taiga plan to have a solo date on Christmas, but their friends quickly co-opt the evening for a party. This, in turn, leads to Nao meeting Taiga’s mom, who doesn’t seem to like her much, and then sleeping over and forgetting to notify Sou, who is very upset. Even though there is much going on here that is sweet and sunny—my favorite moment is actually Yashiro giving Valentine’s Day chocolates to Misaki—I actually really liked seeing Nao get angry for once and vow to be rebellious, and then seeing Tai lose his patience with the whole situation and intervene to get Nao and Sou reconciled. Like they themselves conclude in the story, it makes you closer with someone when you can be honest how you feel. And I honestly adore this series. – Michelle Smith
The Honor Student at Magic High School, Vol. 5 | By Tsutomu Sato and Yu Mori | Yen Press – My relief at the novels having caught up to the spinoff didn’t last long, as this volume of Miyuki’s adventures breezed through the third book in only 70 pages or so, leaving the rest of the plot as part of book four, not out here until April. So I’m spoiled by the spinoff again. There’s some good stuff here, in amongst the setup for the next volume or two. Shizuku in particular benefits in this book, becoming more than Honoka’s fiend and deadpan support and gaining character and awesome moments in her own right. As for Miyuki herself, I suspect she’s damaged by the aforementioned setup, as she doesn’t do quite as much here. Still good stuff. – Sean Gaffney
Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi, Vol. 5 | By HaccaWorks* and nanao | Yen Press – Well, the story is certainly moving swiftly along! So swiftly, in fact, that the final four volumes of this series are certain to be action-packed. In this particular installment, we learn a little more about the meal, as well as the fact that Yue’s small and cute fox companion, Kurogitsune, is due a meal of his own and potentially thinks that Yue seems pretty tasty. Yue, for his part, is feeling disinclined to partake of a meal if it means one of his friends will disappear and is seeking a way out of the obligation, but the head honcho of the shrine aims to take the decision out of his hands and kidnaps Tsubaki when he has the opportunity. All sorts of forces are at play now, and I can definitely see the potential for a straight-through reread once the ninth and final volume finally arrives. – Michelle Smith
One-Punch Man, Vol. 10 | By ONE and Yusuke Marata | Viz Media – Tornado of Terror is on the cover, and she gets a significant chunk of the book as well. And you can see why—more than any of the other female characters we’ve seen in the series, she’s a match for Saitama, possibly as she’s also a lot like Saitama—she gets a lot of simplified faces, emotionless stares, and superdeformed art just as he does. Her sister also gets a nice chapter showing how difficult it can be to not worry about others when you’re constantly striving to get stronger than your betters. Among all that, the further adventures of Garo don’t pack quite as much of a punch—indeed, Saitama takes him out handily as always. This continues to be top-tier shonen and top-tier shonen parody. – Sean Gaffney
Yowamushi Pedal, Vol. 4 | By Wataru Watanabe | Yen Press – I was right that the second years were unable to beat out the first years, who are of course the protagonists so have the writer on their side. That said, I wasn’t expecting so nasty a finish, as they end up giving themselves significant injuries that will take them out of the action for some time. As for Onoda, he’s near his limits, and close to failing, but he gets another reward to give him even more speed—cleats—and that proves to be all the difference. So now we’re ready for the tournament itself, which promises to be grueling, and which features a flashback to the last one, which ended badly for all parties concerned. Is revenge in the offing? Excellent sports manga. – Sean Gaffney
