#Miwa and Cassandra would get along so well btw

Auntie Miwa au

Ok so this au is one that I think can be pretty fun to play around with.

Ok so, yes, Splinter's mom's name is Hamato Atsuko, BUT! what if it wasn't. what if it was say, Hamato Tang Shen.

This idea came to like a fever dream lol. basically I just saw a lot of similarities between how Rise showed Splinters mother vs how other depictions introduced Tang Shen (through time travel/memories, loving mother but died early, a strong woman, dying due to the foot/shredder) and I thought, what if?

So this au has Tang Shen meeting a Hayashi Yoshito. They fall in love and have 2 kids. The youngest, Hamato Yoshi, named after his father who died before he was born.

The oldest... Hamato Miwakarai. Named after the founder of the Hamato clan. She hated this burden/legacy though and started to go by just Miwa.

Miwa is a good few years older from Yoshi, about 8-10. So by the time their mom leaves/passes away, Miwa has already been sent away for Hamato training. This is why Splinter never brings her up and she isn't in his memories. He barely remembers her and thinks she is dead like the rest of his family. Sacrified and tossed aside by the Hamato duty.

I imagine her personality in this au as like a mix between 2012 Karai, and 03 Raph and Leo. on the surface she has learned to mask the "Hamato honor" and be stoic, calm, calculated and cunning. but she is also explosive, loud, loyal, and caring. she can be apathetic at times but thats just the Hamato training that was beat drilled into her. (I can go on about the Hamato clans decent into cultish behavior but I'll save that for a different post)

Miwa becomes the head of the Hamato Clan, and after hearing about rumor of the Shredder returning in NYC (something she thinks is hightly unlikely considering the main foot sect is located in Japan) she send some hamatos to investigate. but because all of NYC was stuck in the mystic orb, theres not much they find besides some destruction and evidence of a fight.

but if no Hamatos were present then how would Shredder have been defeated? so she brushes it off as false intel.

But then the Krang invasion happens. and she sees what little news clippings and videos the escape donnies detection softwares. and she sees these figures, fighing the Krang, and using Ninpo non the less. Now she must go and investigate these imposters, these thieves of the Hamato ways, and put them down. make an example of them. She wasn't expecting to be reunited with her long lost brother and meet her green nephews instead.
