Your Haikyuu ocs are so awesome and I want to hear EVERYTHING about them, but I can’t think of questions…..
How did their first meeting with each other go?
+ just any lil facts abt them you have?
Okay so I haven’t written this part but I really want to. So maybe I’ll do that and post it. BUT! For now I’ll tell you what I think it went like :)
So, they would’ve met at the first day of school. They’re all in different classes, so they didn’t meet until club time.
Kōsuke, being Kōsuke, preferred hanging back and watching the other first years and getting a general idea of who they are, how they play, etc.
Tani didn’t want any part of meeting the other first years because he didn’t want to be at Karasuno in the first place and was holding out hope for things to fix themselves back home so he could transfer to Nekoma. But he also didn’t want to get out of practice in volleyball.
Igarashi was an excited little ray of sunshine and introduced himself to everyone. He pretty quickly latched himself onto Hinata and Kageyama though.
And then there’s Miura. Thank goodness for Miura. Miura also introduced himself to everyone, but he was determined to make best friends out of the other first years. So he was the one to pull them all aside after practice and actually get everyone talking.
From there they gradually started practicing together and meeting up outside of class time (AKA, Miura hunted down all three of them on three separate days over the week, and then Igarashi realized that was a thing he could do and he started doing it as well. Kōsuke and Tani still want to be left alone XD)
They eventually fall into their little duos, most commonly being Miura and Tani, and Kōsuke and Igarashi. They still all walk together after practice and Miura gets them all together to hang out outside of practice, but they’ve also all got someone they tend to default to.
Miura and Tani naturally paired off in my head when I made them, and it’s all Miura’s fault. He looked at Tani, went “yep. Best friend material” and didn’t take no for an answer, so now they bicker and banter 90% of the time because Miura has adopted Tani as his newest sibling.
Kōsuke and Igarashi were a little less natural, but they’re good friends. Igarashi chatters away and Kōsuke listens, or sometimes offers his opinion if Igarashi asks for it. He also keeps Igarashi on track XD
And this is all just like their initial dynamics. Once they’ve had a year together is when their dynamics really start getting fun!
Little Tidbits:
Igarashi’s name in Hinata’s phone is “Baby Setter”
Miura would 100% be an emojis type of guy
Kōsuke is determined to learn how to receive Hinata and Kageyama’s quick. This has resulted in him staring at Hinata a couple times and Hinata later texting Noya and wondering if Kōsuke is mad at him. (The answer is always no. Kōsuke is just being Kōsuke and trying to figure out a tell)
Tani is still in touch with his cousin at Nekoma, but the frequency dies off as Tani gets more accustomed to being part of Karasuno.
In my head I’ve paired all my first years up with their respective second/third years. Obviously Kōsuke has Nishinoya, and as a result he also has Tanak. Igarashi has Kageyama and Hinata. I tend to slot Tani in with Tsukishima and Yamaguchi, but if I’m being honest he doesn’t really hang out with much of anyone other than Miura, or Igarashi and Kōsuke. I think if I were to put him with some of the older players though he’d fit right in with them :) And then Miura hangs with Narita and Kinoshita, sometimes plus Ennoshita.
Igarashi’s canonical nicknames typically refer to the fact that he’s an absolute airhead (/affectionate), but I always call him “Igs” in my brain.
Thank you so much for asking Moo :)
#Guys Miura is the only one who has no arc going on and he’s like my favorite somehow#He’s no plot just vibes#Meanwhile Kōsuke and Tani and Igarashi are all “ANGST ANGST ANGST ANGST”#haikyu oc#Yūki Kōsuke#Igarashi Eiji#Tani Mitsuaki#Miura Fuku

For your Haikyuu ocs! (I’m not very good at these questions sorryyyyyyy)
What are each of their biggest fears? And biggest flaws? Conversely what are their greatest strengths? Biggest goals?
And idk if you have this figured out but if you do, what do they look like?? Definitely has nothing to do with me wanting to draw them nope nope nope
Ooooh, good question! I haven’t though about those for some of them before now!
Kōsuke
Biggest Fear: Letting people down in any way shape or form. Be it his team through not being good enough, his parents through not getting good grades, the other first years through “not being a good friend”, the coaches, etc. Biggest Goal: As of Highschool, it’s “becoming a Libero worthy of Karasuno”. So basically he wants to be good enough to support them and not leave them in a lurch when Noya graduates and Kōsuke takes over as the main Libero in his second year. Biggest Flaw: He buries all his stress and anxiety and negative emotions until, to the point where he literally can’t function anymore and has to take a gap year between Highschool and University. Biggest Strength: He’s incredibly dedicated to whatever he’s doing and whoever he’s doing it with. He’s dedicated to getting good grades, he’s dedicated to becoming a player he thinks is worthy of being the Karasuno Libero, he’s dedicated to his teammates, and he’s especially dedicated to the other first years. When Igarashi isn’t able to play anymore in their third year, the guilt of continuing on without him takes a MASSIVE toll on Kōsuke.
Igarashi
Biggest Fear: Gonna be honest, I don’t know that Igs really has one? He’s a very optimistic guy, and there’s not a whole lot going on up there other than whatever squirrel he’s chasing at the moment (right now it’s predominantly volleyball). As he gets older, more into third year, I’d say it’s probably holding his team back. He’s the least serious about volleyball out of the group and he has the least experience. Biggest Goal: To make a lot of friends from all sorts of different teams, including his own, and to learn a lot from his upperclassmen. Biggest Flaw: He’s easily distracted and gets lost in his thoughts at the worst times, and he always sees the best in everyone even when they’ve proven there’s not much there to see. Biggest Strength: He has a near unfailing optimism. If there’s any silver lining to be found in a situation, you can count on Igarashi to be the one to point it out. Also he just loves people and loves to make friends and that lets him learn from a lot of people of all ages.
Tani
Biggest Fear: Initially it was not being able to carry on the family legacy at Nekoma. After he settles in and gets comfortable at Karasuno, it becomes being made to leave Karasuno before graduation. Biggest Goal: Tani feels a lot of pressure from his family to be better than his brother. His brother was a Nekoma ace during his third year (pre-cannon) but his studies suffered. Tani has been an honors student all throughout junior high and is in the highest level of class possible as a Karasuno first year, so now he just has to keep his grades up and become the ace of Karasuno in his third year. Biggest Flaw: Tani is extremely closed off even with his positive emotions. He doesn’t want to let anyone get close because he doesn’t want to get hurt. He really really wants someone to actually care about him, just once. But he won’t let anyone in. (Enter Miura, who does not knock and most certainly does not take no for an answer. I doubt even a restraining order would stop him tbh) Biggest Strength: Tani is incredibly analytical and it transfers over to his playing as well as his relationships. He’s able to take in all the information, sort through it, and figure out just where to strike to make it count. And he’s confident in his ability to do so.
Miura
Biggest Fear: Honestly it’s probably something happening to his siblings. They’re always taking up a portion of his brain space. Biggest Goal: Miura would really really like to be a pro volleyball player one day. He doesn’t voice this dream though because it isn’t really a viable career path. But sometimes, just for a little bit, he’ll let himself dream. Biggest Flaw: Miura’s very self-sacrificial for the people he cares about, to the point of putting his own wants and needs on the back burner for so long he sometimes forgets that they’re there until they burn and there’s smoke pouring off of them. Also while he’s great at cheering on his teammates, his optimism only extends to them. He’s very pessimistic when it comes to anything about himself and his dreams/goals/efforts, etc. Biggest Strength: He’s incredibly down-to-earth and has a very solid work ethic. It takes a lot to phase him, which puts him in a place to be an amazing supporter to the people he cares about both on and off the court.
APPEARANCES:
So I haven’t drawn them before, but I do have a general idea of what they look like! I’ll pull a couple reference images for hair on Tani and Miura since I picture theirs a specific way that I have yet to figure out how to describe, but Kōsuke and Igs are still pretty vague. :)
Kōsuke has short and somewhat messy black hair and gray eyes. He’s 5’4”, but he subconsciously hunches over and shrinks in on himself to seem more unimposing.
Igarashi is taller than Kōsuke, but shorter than Tani and Miura. He has fluffy white hair and light blue eyes, and he’s pretty pale.
Tani has light brown Tim Drake-style hair, dark brown eyes, and freckles. He’s taller than Igs and shorter than Miura. And he’s always got a lollipop :)
And then Miura is built like a farm-boy and is the tallest of them all. He’s got dark brown hair with an undercut (similar to Terushima from Johzenji, but not slicked back) and the top half is dyed a purpley-maroon. His eyes are dark like his hair, and he’s more on the sun-tanned side.
Thank you for asking, Jade!! :)

Not to sound needy or attention-seeking or anything, but does anyone want to ask me questions about my Haikyu!! OCs? I’m trying to work out more details of their stories and also they’re taking up all my brain space right now.
The story is that they are the first years during Hinata’s second year, and there’s four of them :)
Yūki Kōsuke is the libero, and he’s quiet, anxious, perceptive, and likes making origami cranes. He idolizes Nishinoya (like how Hinata idolizes the Little Giant), except they’ve actually met before due to overlapping at junior high for a year.
Igarashi Eiji is a setter. He’s inquisitive, easily distracted, and a social butterfly. He’s starstruck by Kageyama. His kneecap is shattered in his third year, the only year he’s able to play on the court, and he isn’t able to finish the year. He also has a permanent limp after the fact.
Tani Mitsuaki is a wing spiker. He’s quiet and perceptive, like Kōsuke, but where Kōsuke is anxious, Tani is aloof. He always has a lollipop in his mouth, and he wears hand-me-down Nekoma merch from his older brother. He has a rough family life and lives with his grandparents.
Miura Fuku is a middle blocker. He’s optimistic and outgoing, but grounded. He’s the oldest of six kids, so when he’s put in the volleyball club (a situation where he isn’t the oldest, nor is he expected to be the responsible one) he relaxes and acts like a complete goofball. He has an undercut and the top half of his hair is dyed maroon.

Do you have any other sona's I saw fey and was curious
Hi Anon!
So, I don’t have any other sonas besides the main one for my blog, but I do have OCs! I have four Haikyu OCs I’ve talked about a little bit, but I‘ve never drawn them.
Their names are Yūki Kōsuke, Igarashi Eiji, Tani Mitsuaki, and Miura Fuku.
Kōsuke is a libero, Igarashi is a setter, Tani is a wing spiker, and Miura is a middle blocker :) I made them to be the first years in the year after the show takes place, so we still have the second years and Hinata’s year.

Okay like basic info on my boys because I’m just so excited about them:
Yūki Kōsuke
I made him first. He’s 5’4” but he’s kinda awkward and not very confident, so he hunches over and always looks shorter than he is. He’s a libero and he went to junior high with Noya (who is two years his senior), and basically Noya is to Kōsuke what the Little Giant is to Hinata, which is part of why Kōsuke is attending Karasuno. He likes doing all sorts of origami in his free time, but cranes are his favorite. He used to make them and give them to people as an attempt at making friends, but it never worked out. So when he gets to Karasuno and not one, not two, but three hyper and extroverted upperclassmen want to be his friend he’s just a smidge overwhelmed and not really sure how to react. Kōsuke can read people very well and is very observant, but he doesn’t sugar coat things. Igarashi asked him once during a practice match what he thought of the other team (they split team Karasuno in half) and Kōsuke replied with “They’re going to win.” He has short messy black hair and gray eyes. Out of the other first years, his best friend is Igarashi. He’s the second eldest of the first years.
2. Igarashi Eiji
He’s gotten the second most attention from me after Kōsuke. I don’t know how tall he is, but I think of the first years he’s the second shortest. He’s a setter (which is why he sits out both his first and second year) and he really looks up to Kageyama. Igarashi is curious and eager to learn, very excitable, and easily distracted. He’s a bit of a social butterfly, so he tends to easily make friends with players from other teams. He’s a very well liked guy, even if his teammates sometimes get a little frustrated with his distractedness. In his third year, when he finally gets to play as the official setter, he only is able to play half the time. He unintentionally makes an enemy out of the wrong person which leads to him receiving a bad knee injury, taking him out of volleyball for the rest of his third year and leaving him with a permanent limp. (He got lots of visitors and cards/notes, not just from his team but from other teams as well.) He has fluffy white hair and light blue eyes. Affectionately derogatory nicknames for him typically include ‘cloud’ due to his hair and his tendency to be a bit of an airhead. Igarashi is the youngest of the first years. (I like to think some of the older members of the team have him listed in their phones as “baby setter” because he’s the baby of the team)
3. Miura Fuku
One of the taller two first years. He has five younger siblings (all two years apart) and maroon hair. He plays middle blocker and his favorite upperclassmen are Kinoshita and Narita. Despite having younger siblings whom he wrangles all the time at home, within three weeks of being in the club Miura has proven without a doubt that he cannot be trusted to wrangle the other first years. He’s the most likely to goof off, and he frequently winds up playfully bickering with Tani. He also easily assumes familiarity with others, dropping the honorifics for his fellow first years as soon as two weeks into knowing them. (Kōsuke wonders to himself half-jokingly if in another two weeks Miura will also stop using honorifics for their upperclassmen) Speaking of Miura’s younger siblings, only one will play volleyball— his littlest sister, Miura Setsuko, who is only 8 by the time Fuku graduates. Also YES! His siblings go to as many of his games as possible, and he does the same for them with their activities. (His immediate younger sister is a dancer and his middle brother is on the baseball team). Miura has dark brown hair, but the top half is dyed maroon (think like Terushima Yūji from Johzenji). He has very dark eyes. Miura will eventually be captain in his third year, having matured and also having the best all-round relationships with the rest of the team. Despite their bickering, Tani is his best friend. Miura is the oldest first year.
Last but not least!
4. Tani Osamu
When not in class or playing volleyball, Tani can always be found with a lollipop in his mouth. Sometimes he uses it as an excuse not to talk to people. He plays opposite hitter. Tani has an older brother (20) who used to play volleyball for Nekoma, and that’s who he got all of his Nekoma hand-me-downs from. Tani is quiet and he’s in college prep classes. He wanted to go to Nekoma, partially because of his brother and partially because he’s a nerd. Family struggles resulted in him being displaced from his life in Tokyo. Since the end of his last year of middle school, Tani has been living with his grandparents, and since they’re in the Karasuno area, Tani was forced to give up on his dreams of Nekoma and settled for Karasuno. He was wary of a lot of his teammates at first, but Miura took to him quickly and Tani found he enjoyed Miura’s presence enough to actually engage with him. On top of that, he sometimes hangs around Tsukki and Yamaguchi. Tani has light brown hair with the front parted down the middle, and brown eyes. Tani is the ace and vice captain in his third year. He’s the second youngest first year.
So yeah, those are my boys! :) Like I said, Kōsuke came first and I made the rest after realizing there had to be other first years, but I love them all very dearly.
Anybody else get into a new thing and have the urge to make OCs and then while you’re in the process of making OCs your brain tells you “You’re doing it wrong” and you second guess all your years of experience in making OCs because you’ve never been in this fandom before and what if you are doing it wrong?
Anyways, despite my brain being a mean little liar, I’ve made like four Haikyu OCs and they’re all first years during Ennoshita’s residency as Captain. They have stolen my heart even though three of them I only made after realizing there couldn’t be just one first year joining the volleyball club.
One of them suffers an injury that takes him out of the game in third year because my brain recognized the potential for angst (he doesn’t get to play his first or second year other than as a substitute)
Two of them bicker like brothers 70% of the time. One is the eldest of six kids and has dyed his hair maroon. The other almost always has a lollipop in his mouth and wears hand-me-down Nekoma merch.
And the reason for making the other three is an awkward 5’4” kid who’s not very confident in his volleyball abilities and who likes making origami cranes in his spare time.
Someday I’ll hopefully draw them so you all can see them but for right now they’re just in my head. I’d be happy to answer questions about them though! :)
(Also my TMNT friends, this is not me leaving the fandom. :] Haikyu is just running the show in my brain right now so I kinda have to go along. There’s still TMNT projects in the works in the background though!)
