You posted a while back about a vampire Mitch fic , stiles and Mitch were brothers and they ran away from their foster home? And Katrina was a vampire and she bit Mitch and stiles thought she killed him so he ran away....
Anyway, do they meet again? Maybe Mitch Is tracking down his brother using his CIA agent connections (would he still be in the CIA?) and the whole pack would be wary and would tell every pack member to be careful bc there is a very powerful vampire in town.
Now, imagine the whole pack facing Mitch, and all of them are about to throw hands when stiles just runs to Mitch's arms.
(and the pack would be like: what the fuck stiles? And then they'd see Mitch and stiles break down to tears while hugging each other tightly🥺🥺💔
My friend 🥺 thank you for asking, bc i love this AU, and I think it was a little bit of a flop for not being Stitch <3 But I do actually have this entire AU planned out!
This got really long, so I'm putting it under a cut lol.
Stiles is just a kid, he can only survive on the streets for so long without his brother taking care of him. He eventually turns himself into the police, even though it means he returns to the foster system; something he has bad history with. This time, though, Stiles gets adopted by John. He's wary at first, but john is kind and patient, and Stiles slowly heals. He comes out of his shell, changing from a mute shadow to someone brash and loud, everything he was afraid to become because drawing attention was never safe, before.
Stiles gets into trouble when he's older; he knows monsters are out there, has seen them with his own eyes, learns to recognize them. Something must be watching over him, though, because the monsters never get close enough to hurt him. Stiles never sees what's protecting him.
As you know, Mitch didn't actually die. the first chapter is written from Stiles' PoV, when he's a terrified kid, and it's a very emotional memory. He sees things as worse than they were.
Mitch was in no shape to follow after him, but after making sure he would be okay, Katrina did. But she had no way to track Stiles in a city that large when he didn't want to be found, and knew how to hide. Once Mitch recovers a day or two later he searches, too, going to all their old haunts, but they can't find Stiles anywhere. He's disappeared without a trace.
When Mitch is older, grown out of being an awkward teenager, Katrina turns him. And years later, he finally finds Stiles. He can barely recognize his little brother; Stiles is nothing like he remembers. Then again, Mitch has changed a lot, too. He doesn't know what he would say to Stiles, how he would explain, so he just... doesn't. Stiles has done alright without him, it's not his place to come in now and disrupt his life, after all these years. But he can keep an eye on Stiles from a distance, keep him safe.
Mitch also knows Stiles won't like it if he finds out he and Katrina are mates, now, because he thinks Katrina is a monster, and oh god, what she did to Mitch is so much worse than death. He would never trust Mitch again if he knew what he became.
The story itself takes place I believe 5 years after Mitch's "death". Making them 11 and 17 at the time, and 16 and 22 in the present. Cannon essentially happens the same way in the background, with Stiles being so ready to accept werewolves because he already knows vampires are real.
Stiles has largely recovered, and a built a normal life for himself. He's still got some issues because childhood trauma like his lasts, but he really is doing good. He loves his dad, he loves Scott and Melissa, he's safe for the first time in his life. He's living a normal life. He misses Mitch a lot, and he misses what little he remembers of his parents, but he's had time to accept the loss. He knows Mitch would want him to move on, so he tries to. But he never forgets.
Then one night, Mitch is just there, and Stiles doesn't know what to think. For years he believed Mitch was dead, murdered by a monster he made the mistake of trusting. Stiles has spent so long hating himself for leaving his brother behind like a coward, and how he's just here? Has been here, shadowing Stiles, and never said a thing? And then Stiles puts it together who's been protecting him, how Mitch could possibly hold his own against the supernatural, and Stiles realizes: Mitch isn't human anymore. He's horrified and afraid and takes of running, and Mitch lets him go because what else is he supposed to do?
Stiles needs time to process. Locks himself up in his room, all the blinds drawn and the house locked up tight, because he has no idea if Mitch is still stalking him or not. Wouldn't put it past him, that's what vampires do.
A few days later Stiles goes out late at night, sneaking away while everyone else is asleep. He knows he isn't alone; can feel eyes on him, just like always. Says, "I know you're there," because he's finally ready to talk. The first thing he asks is why Mitch waited so long to show himself. (And he probably didn't mean to do it, this time, but he was given no choice. The only way to save Stiles was to reveal himself.)
Stiles, in all of his self-loathing and guilt, thinks Mitch just didn't try to find him because he was relieves not to have to deal with him anymore. But that couldn't be farther from the truth, Mitch never stopped looking. He proves it by telling Stiles everything he knows about him now; how his crush on Lydia is fake as hell; how he stupidly likes to steal John's alcohol and drink in the woods in the middle of the night; how his obsession with flannel is because John found Stiles wandering the streets one night, shivering and cold, and wrapped him up in his flannel shirt. Took him home to get him warm and fed, and it was the first little spark of safe and family that Stiles had since Mitch died. No one but Scott knows that story, and Mitch must have overheard Stiles telling it when Scott asked.
Stiles is emotional because Mitch really has been watching out for him all this time, but he's also dealing with a lot of other things (guilt for running away, residual fear that Mitch is a monster, now, and what if it's all just an act), and his default is to brush everything off, so he just snarks that, "Okay, so you became the Twilight stereotype, good for you."

Another thing Stiles doesn't know is that Mitch actually met Katrina before that night. Several times, in fact. It's why Mitch, who was always so suspicious of everyone, was happy to go with her. he even knew she was a vampire, too, but didn't tell Stiles because he wanted him to get to know her first. He never got the chance because Stiles caught them in the act and ran.
Given his age at the time, Mitch couldn't go to the police, they would've taken him back into custody and he'd have lost any chance at tracking Stiles down. He and Katrina worked through other channels for months, trying to find word on what happened, until Mitch turned 18. Literally on his birthday, he went straight to the police, and that... didn't really pan out the way he'd hoped. They find out Stiles was placed with a family, but by the time they got there, Stiles was gone again.
Mitch came so close to finding Stiles so many times, but he was always a step behind. Maybe 2, 3 years into the search is when Katrina finally turns him, (probably after a near death experience, maybe Mitch goes poking around somewhere he doesn't belong.)
It's actually Katrina that finds Stiles. Mitch finds out where he is, but she runs into him by accident, and Stiles... doesn't react well when he realizes the woman in front of him is the monster that killed his brother. It's confirmed when she says his name, and Stiles loses. His. Shit.
Katrina doesn't want to hurt him, or scare him more than she already has, so she bolts. Stiles is shaken for the rest of the day, meanwhile Katrina is reporting everything back to Mitch they they've finally found him. Of course the first thing Mitch wants to do is see him, but before actually making contact with Stiles, he hesitates; if Stiles tried to attack Katrina, how is he going to react to Mitch? He decides he would rather keep his distance than lose Stiles like that.
Mitch checks up on Stiles' life; during their time in the system, they were separated from each other twice, and neither of those times ended well for Stiles. Mitch isn't going to risk Stiles being hurt again. But from what he can tell, John Stilinski is a good man. Stiles is doing well in school, has a handful of friends; he finally has the life Mitch wanted for him.
