When I was looking for images of human Mistral for a crossover collage I was having trouble finding some, so I decided to do an icon/screengrab post on her. No offence to Sisu or Disney, but I prefer Mistral's human form and I love her dragon form as well.

When I was little I would talk to my mom and she would start singing a song or recite a poem using one word or phrase that I said. I used to find it a little annoying because our conversation always ended up in her singing or reciting something. Now when I'm talking to someone or reading something, songs or poems will come to my head related to a specific word or phrase. Do you people have the same experience? like relating words to songs?

This is Mistral's theme and it really fits her! It shows how lost she's been and that she was fighting for no reason until she met Senator Armstrong, and how his ambition charmed her into joining him.

In my opinion the most iconic track from the Ace Attorney games. Instead of being just the background music that the player hears, it is actually the theme song of a children's TV show within the games' universe. This also allows for several fun reappearances in later games, for example as Phoenix's ringtone or when Edgeworth complains about a rip-off show even having an incredibly similar theme (which does exist in the OST of that game as well)

did you see summer’s new design? girl help it looks super uncomfy

I did see Summer's new design and I'm like ehhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I honestly just hate how similar it is to Ruby's, colour pallete and all. Summer already struggles with just looking like older Ruby, rather than Ruby's mother, but I'm at least glad she isn't in the all black recolour of Ruby's Mistral outfit.

The positives is that I do like the style of the skirt. The red underneath with the black overskirt on top, it looks really cute, but it gets a lot less cute fast when you get to the belt. I don't get RWBY's obsession with sticking ugly buttons and bits of fabric onto everything. along with the belts on her chest that now hold her cape.

Even when every time we've seen Summer before, her cape was styled like Ruby's. Ruby's cape was always inspired by Summer's, and it was obvious from Volume 1's opening, but then this volume decided that her emblem would be her connection to Summer that she'd lose.

Which wouldn't the cape be a better choice? The red cape is the most iconic part of Ruby's design, so wouldn't her losing that be more meaningful in what this volume's tryna say?

But anyway, back to the design.

It's not the worst I've seen, but it could absolutely be better. At least she's not in Ruby's Mistral clothes anymore.

the idea of pan's world is actually really interesting. a place that doesn't follow good and evil, but rather chaos, which places good and evil as the opposite of chaos— order? and hook says "that's why it's so dangerous" which i guess does make sense from his pov but. i hope this concept gets explored more later

kyma questioning whether they're good is also v interesting! comparing the good pirates to evil pan (their roles are reversed, the pirates usually evil and pan usually good— also kyma seems traditional which explains her traditional fairytale view)

Hey, I love the podcast! I especially had a lot of fun with the episodes on Harvey Milk and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. I wanted to ask if you have considered doing an episode on Chilean poet Gabriella Mistral. She was the first Latin American ever to win a noble prize (man or woman) and her queerness has been the subject of intense discussion especially in Chile (her country of origin). Beyond being a poet she was a teacher and a champion for children's education and female empowerment. She was by no means perfect, but her icon has been extremally influential in Latin America even after the Chilean government tried to erase the more "controversial" parts of her life. Anyways, I'm looking forward to all future episodes, thank you for being the only reason I have an A- in history.

Aww, thank you! And yes, she is on our list of suggestions. I don't know much about her, so I'd love to learn more. At the moment, when I think of her I always picture this little doll from the Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral in Santiago. =)

I watched The Tiger’s Apprentice on the flight back from Tokyo. I loved the books as a kid, but the character design of Mistral walked into my brain without knocking and started rearranging the furniture. She’s iconic
