One of the Best Seasons of Them All
Tumblr media
“Autumn” seems like an invention of the leaf blower and transitional jacket industries.
That's what you might believe if you’re not experiencing autumn at the moment: no autumnal scents, no morning mist, no sniffles, and no fresh chestnuts. Why is autumn even considered a distinct season? Aren’t transitions from one to another usually rather brief and inconspicuous?
In winter, it’s hard to believe in autumn. After all, other countries manage with just two seasons. An Australian once confirmed to me that there’s no autumn where he comes from. Is “autumn” ultimately just a cultural construct? Did poets (→ “Lord: it is time. The summer was immense.”) and writers have an interest in inventing autumn? Did they teach us to perceive this transitional time as tangible because they needed a vivid symbol for melancholic settings in their books?
Autumn, Amiright?
You’ve probably had the same thoughts. Every year, these contemplations about whether autumn is real or if we just dreamt it up. Until that one moment when autumn kicks in. Every year, there’s that one day when we take a breath, and before we exhale, it’s clear: This is it. We’ve transitioned from late summer to autumn.
We don’t know exactly what it is. It’s probably multifactorial, like everything nowadays: the scent, the moisture, the coolness, the lingering warmth, the light, the mist, the low sun, the yellow, the blossoms, the fruits, the withering, all of it, and then a bit more. The moment isn’t measurable and might hit you a week earlier than it hits me, but it’s as clear and distinct as a new fragrance in a room we enter. Suddenly. For a brief moment, we chase after it, and after a while, we wonder if the scent is still there or if we’ve simply grown accustomed to it.
And then it continues for a while. First, we get used to autumn, and then the next season arrives. Doubts slowly creep back in. Was there something there? Did we dream it up? Perhaps autumn is indeed just an invention of the leaf blower and transitional jacket industry.

Ep. 16 - Did I Say That I Loathe You? Did I Say That I Want To Leave It All Behind?
Hello my beloved fellow souls,
welcome back to Danbi’s Room, your weekly dose of safe space. Go grab a cup of something warm and get yourself cosy.
I hope you had a nice week where you could spare some time to be with yourself, relax and get creative, or have a nice day with loved ones.
I know, today’s letter title is pretty long. It’s that I believe it to be very important to ask those questions - it might be to yourself, to someone else, to what you do, to what you wake up for…to your creations. No matter the object of the question, I’m sure that, alas, your answer must have been “yes”, more than once. Maybe even a million times. It’s because it’s what we’re taught, since infancy, to loathe and to leave it all behind. It takes courage to love and stay. Loads of bravery and strength. It is hard. It really is. It’s natural to crumble, it’s normal to wish for an easier path, it’s completely valid to desire to give up. Sometimes we do give up. Maybe forever or maybe for just a second. Admitting these things is hard, too, coming to terms with the depths of our despair is indescribably frightening. Perhaps we get back on our feet countless times, we rise up stronger, even if more and more exhausted. There, there is the breaking point. We can’t take it anymore, we’re scared and tired of crawling back to standing on our trembling knees. We just want to lay down, feel soil sustaining our abandoned body, the wind whispering love poems in our ears, fairies gently dancing on our stomach until we are covered in soft moss. Until we dissolve in a pond gazing at the stars. We can do that. We have to do that. Oh to be a water lily surrounded by a veil of thin mist, adorned by gems of morning dew. Why can’t we just do that? Why can’t we just dance under the Sun, bathe in the Spring rain and sing to the Gods?
Maybe we could. Actually, we can.
It can also be a sort of state of mind. We don’t have to live trampling on others, nor merely being maneuvered through things we don’t want. Deep awareness takes courage and effort, but, in return, it guarantees total freedom. A kind of freedom nothing else can give us. Rising up from the darkness requires strength and bravery, standing tall is exhausting but enlightening.
It’s where you comprehend that love is not just love.
So, to answer the initial questions, I will love you, and I will stay.
I’m sorry if this was so much shorter that usual, I had a rough weekend, but I’m glad because it ended beautifully!
Today’s song recommendation is The Blower’s Daughter by Damien Rice, for times when you can’t take your eyes off.
I hope you enjoyed this episode and that you have a beautiful week ahead of you!
I’ll see you in the next one, big hug!
With love, yours,
Danbi

Artificial Green Grass Maintenance Requirements: A Comprehensive Analysis
Artificial green grass has revolutionized the landscape industry, offering a beautiful, durable, and eco-friendly alternative to natural grass. It’s particularly popular for sports fields, playgrounds, and residential lawns. While artificial grass requires significantly less maintenance than natural grass, it still needs some care to keep it looking its best.
Factors influencing the Maintenance Requirements
Understanding the factors influencing artificial grass maintenance is crucial for developing an effective upkeep routine.
Traffic Intensity:
High-Traffic Areas:
Areas with heavy foot traffic, such as sports fields or playgrounds, require more frequent brushing and cleaning to prevent matting and debris buildup.
Low-Traffic Areas:
Residential lawns or decorative areas with minimal foot traffic generally need less frequent maintenance.
Climate and Weather Conditions:
Extreme Weather:
Extreme temperatures, heavy rainfall, or intense sunlight can affect the appearance and performance of artificial grass. Regular inspection and cleaning are imperative in such conditions.
Moderate Climate:
Moderate climates with regular rainfall generally require less intensive maintenance.
Debris Accumulation:
Leaves and Dirt:
Regular cleaning is necessary to remove leaves, dirt, and other debris that can accumulate on the surface.
Pet Waste:
Promptly cleaning up after pets is essential to prevent staining and odor.
Weed Growth:
Prevention:
High-quality artificial grass with a dense pile height and proper installation can minimize weed growth.
Removal:
If weeds do appear, they can be easily pulled or sprayed with a weed killer specifically designed for artificial grass.
UV Exposure:
Fading:
Prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause the artificial grass to fade over time.
Protection:
Some artificial grass varieties are treated with UV inhibitors to minimize fading.
Pet Usage:
Cleaning:
Regular cleaning is necessary to remove pet hair and waste.
Urine Stains:
Promptly flushing urine with water can help prevent staining.
Installation Quality:
Proper Installation:
A well-installed artificial grass surface will require less maintenance and last longer.
Seams and Edges:
Proper seaming and edging techniques can prevent debris buildup and waterlogging.
Key Maintenance Requirements for Artificial Grass
Regular Brushing:
Purpose: Brushing helps to keep the grass blades upright and prevents matting.
Frequency: Once or twice a week, especially after heavy use or rainfall.
Tools: A stiff-bristled broom or a specialized artificial grass brush.
Cleaning:
Purpose: Removes debris, dirt, and leaves that can accumulate on the surface.
Frequency: As needed, especially after heavy use or during seasonal changes.
Method: Use a leaf blower or a soft brush to remove loose debris. For stubborn stains, a mild detergent solution and a soft brush can be used.
Inspection:
Purpose: Identifies any damage, wear, or loose seams.
Frequency: Regularly, especially after heavy use or extreme weather conditions.
Action: Promptly repair any damage to prevent further issues.
Watering:
Purpose: Cools the surface and reduces static electricity.

Additional Tips for Maintaining Artificial Grass
Avoid Excessive Heat:
Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can damage the artificial grass. Consider using shade covers or awnings during peak sun hours.
Prevent Standing Water:
Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to mold and mildew.
Pet Care:
Clean up after pets promptly to prevent staining and odor.
Heavy Equipment:
Avoid driving heavy equipment on the artificial grass, as it can damage the fibers.
Professional Cleaning:
Consider hiring a professional cleaning service for deep cleaning and maintenance.
By following these simple maintenance tips, you can enjoy a beautiful, low-maintenance artificial grass surface for years to come.

A Comprehensive Guide to Choosing the Best Pesticide Sprayer for Your Orchard
Tumblr media
As a farmer, one of the most important things you need to do is to protect your crops from pests and diseases. One of the most effective ways to do this is by using a pesticide sprayer. In this comprehensive guide, I will take you through everything you need to know about choosing the best pesticide sprayer for your orchard.
Introduction to Pesticide Sprayers for Orchards
Pesticide sprayers are agricultural equipment used to apply pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to crops. They come in different types and sizes, depending on the crop and the application method. Pesticide sprayers are essential tools for farmers, as they help to protect crops from pests and diseases, which can damage the yield and quality of the harvest.
Mitra Agro Equipment Offers Best Spraying Equipment
When it comes to choosing the best pesticide sprayer for your orchard, you need to consider the quality of the equipment. One company that offers some of the best spraying equipment in the market is Mitra Agro Equipment. They specialize in the design and manufacture of agricultural sprayers, including air blast sprayers and mist sprayers, which are suitable for orchard spraying.
With Mitra Agro Equipment, you can be sure of getting high-quality sprayers that are durable and efficient. Their sprayers are designed to cover a large area in a short time, making them ideal for orchard spraying. They also come with adjustable nozzles that allow you to control the spray pattern and volume, ensuring that you apply the right amount of pesticide to your crops.
Understanding the Air Blast Sprayer
One of the most popular types of pesticide sprayers for orchards is the air blast sprayer. This type of sprayer uses a powerful fan to create a high-velocity air stream that atomizes the spray liquid into small droplets. The droplets are then blown onto the target crop, covering both the top and bottom surfaces of the leaves.
The air blast sprayer is ideal for orchard spraying, as it can cover a large area in a short time. It is also effective at reaching all parts of the tree, including the top branches, which can be difficult to reach with other types of sprayers. Additionally, the air blast sprayer can be used to apply different types of pesticides, including liquid and powder formulations.
Advantages of Using an Air Blast Sprayer for Orchard Spraying
There are several advantages to using an air blast sprayer for orchard spraying. Firstly, it is a fast and efficient way of applying pesticides to a large area. This means that you can cover more trees in less time, saving you time and labour costs.
Secondly, the air blast sprayer is effective at reaching all parts of the tree, including the top branches. This means that you can apply the pesticide uniformly to the entire tree, reducing the risk of pests and diseases.
Lastly, the air blast sprayer is versatile and can be used to apply different types of pesticides, including liquid and powder formulations. This means that you can choose the right pesticide for your crop and apply it using the same sprayer.
Factors to Consider When Choosing an Orchard Sprayer
When choosing an orchard sprayer, there are several factors you need to consider. These include:
Size of the Orchard
The size of your orchard will determine the type and size of the sprayer you need. If you have a small orchard, you may only need a backpack sprayer or a handheld sprayer. However, if you have a large orchard, you may need a tow-behind sprayer or a self-propelled sprayer.
Type of Crop
The type of crop you are growing will also determine the type of sprayer you need. For example, if you are growing fruit trees, you may need an air blast sprayer that can cover a large area in a short time. However, if you are growing vegetables, you may need a mist sprayer that can apply the pesticide uniformly to the entire crop.
Type of Pesticide
The type of pesticide you are using will also determine the type of sprayer you need. For example, if you are using liquid pesticides, you may need an air blast sprayer that can atomize the liquid into small droplets. However, if you are using dry pesticides, you may need a mist sprayer that can apply the powder uniformly to the crop.
Maintenance and Care of Your Agricultural Spraying Equipment
To ensure that your agricultural spraying equipment lasts longer and works efficiently, you need to take good care of it. This includes regular maintenance and cleaning. You should also store your sprayer in a dry and clean place to prevent rust and corrosion.
Additionally, you should check your sprayer regularly for leaks and cracks, and replace any worn-out parts immediately. This will ensure that your sprayer works efficiently and that you apply the pesticide uniformly to your crops.
Understanding the Orchard Mist Sprayer
Another type of pesticide sprayer that is suitable for orchard spraying is the mist sprayer. This type of sprayer uses a high-pressure pump to atomize the pesticide into small droplets, which are then sprayed onto the crop. The mist sprayer is ideal for applying pesticides uniformly to the entire crop, including the top and bottom surfaces of the leaves.
Conclusion and Final Thoughts
Choosing the best pesticide sprayer for your orchard is essential for protecting your crops from pests and diseases. When choosing a sprayer, you need to consider the size of your orchard, the type of crop, and the type of pesticide you are using. You also need to take good care of your sprayer by regularly maintaining and cleaning it.
While air blast and mist sprayers are popular choices for orchard spraying, there are other alternatives to consider, such as electrostatic sprayers and drip irrigation. By choosing the right sprayer for your orchard, you can ensure that your crops are protected and that you get a healthy and bountiful harvest.

The Song of the Shofar
This missive was originally posted at the Dunebat Country website on Sunday, 25 September 2022.
As the sun sets, a shofar blasts long and loud, the unearthly sound disturbing the air molecules and reverberating throughout the house of worship. Something deep within my soul is stirred to arousal, and I shut my eyes tight to blot out my surroundings and attune myself to the ram horn trumpet’s plaintive wail.
A shofar blasts, and I am jostled about by other human bodies pressing forward. I open my eyes, and I am surrounded by a vast sea of people in clean, colorful ancient garb, more human beings than I am able to count, all facing a large, foreboding mountain. Dark grey nimbostratus clouds veil the mountain’s peak like a burial shroud. Brilliant lightning and heavy thunder roll around the mountain like javelins thrown by angry giants. Though the people surrounding me sweat with fear, they respond to the lightning by raising their hands in awe and reverence, shouting in jubilation, and stepping forward toward the rocky base of the mountain led by others garbed in white robes. The shofar sounds again, louder this time, a lengthy tekiah blast that blares beyond the crowd noise and seems to shake the very air around us. Another shofar joins in the awesome din, sounding out in staccato teruah.
The smoke surrounding the mountain forms a dark, gloomy pillar around the peak, and the people around me — still screaming in both dread and jubilation — move as one toward large stone boundary markers that had been placed around the base of the mountain. I am forced to move toward the base of the mountain with them to avoid being trampled, though the earthquakes and the sounds of thunder and shofar blasts leave me disoriented and barely able to discern what direction I should be moving in. Some brass-armored figures bearing weapons and torches attempt to stand guard around the boundary markers, but the crowd threatens to bear down upon them and crush them underfoot.
A robed figure draped in shadow breaks through the mists at the mountaintop and begins to climb down the mountain toward the crowd. The people around me halt in place at the sight of the figure, whose slow movements betray his advanced age. When the figure — an aged man with a lengthy white beard and pale, almost glowing face contrasting his somber-patterned crimson robe — reaches the torch-bearing guards, he waves his hands through the air and the shofar-blowers cease. “Stop! Stop! All of you!” he screeches. “Don’t go any farther than this! If you pass the boundaries, Adonai will break out against you, and many of you will die! You must consecrate yourselves before you approach the boundaries! Come no closer than that!”
Almost on cue, the earth trembled and threatened to buckle beneath us. The lightning flashed around us anew, nearer this time, striking near the boundary stones like the white-hot swords of vengeful angels. The crowd trembled as a mass of writhing bees, every soul stumbling backward in terror. I stood in place transfixed as the people fled backward, then fell to my knees in the trembling earth, awe-stricken by the fearsome tableau.
The figure then motioned to someone in the crowd. “Aharon! Come with me!” Another elderly man emerged from among the white-robed figures at the head of the crowd — this one wearing a long, deep blue robe over a white robe with a white turban and a dazzling golden chest-plate containing twelve gems that glittered with each lightning strike — and stepped forward. This person gingerly set one foot past the boundary stones, then, realizing that the lightning had not struck him for trespassing the boundary around the base of the mountain, quickly scurried to join the figure that had descended the mountain as quickly as his aged legs could carry him. As they both headed further up the mountain, the thick, black smoke surrounding the mountain’s peak like a pyroclastic cloud gently rolled over them and swept the two men up inside.
As they disappeared into the gloom, a shofar sounded again, though this one was not a trumpet blown by human hands. A voice from the mountaintop boomed over the din louder than thunder rolling over the echoing desert, a fathomless, resounding roar that rattled the rocks and boulders of the mountain and nestled deep within my chest:
“I AM 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 YOUR ELOHIM, WHO BROUGHT YOU OUT OF MITZRAYIM, OUT OF THE LAND OF SLAVERY…”
A shofar blasts, long and loud, and I kneel transfixed not in trembling earth, but on a mirror-polished pavement of metamorphic rock as brilliant blue as a cloudless sunny sky at noontime. This azure floor was translucent, and beneath its coruscant glassy sheen, I saw the stars of the Milky Way pass beneath my knees, each of its telltale constellations sparkling and dancing as if performing some exuberant cosmic waltz. Underneath the center of this crystalline floor, the Earth rotated slowly, its lone pale natural satellite circling it as silently as a shadow. Bright points of light dotted the Earth spinning beneath me, like giant fires raging across its surface, and dark black clouds of ash covered the planet like bitter shrouds.
Surrounding me are twenty-four ornate seats stationed equidistant from each other in a circle around the room I knelt in. A luminous human figure adorned in white robes sat on each throne, an equally pristine white turban bound to each head by a dazzling circlet of gold as ornate as the seats these figures inhabited. I could not discern their features, as each figure’s face shone as bright as the sun, and I had to avert my eyes when I tried to meet their gazes. A glittering golden menorah stood near the center of the room, the flames of its lamps only adding to the brilliance of the room and making it more difficult to see clearly. I can barely make out several tall, powerfully muscled winged beings standing behind the twenty-four seated figures, their feathers catching the light emanating from the center of the hall like prisms, casting will-of-the-whisp like glimmers of light on the walls and doors behind them.
At the center of the room stand four fearsome, immeasurably potent, radiant inhuman beings, their skin embedded with unblinking, always-moving eyes all around their bodies. They see everything and they know everything. The figures are stationed at ordinal points around the most elaborate and decorated throne I have ever laid eyes upon, far more ornate and enchanting than any mortal-made seat of power. The figure at what could be called the northwest point looks like a proud lion with six wings protruding from its back; the figure at the northeast looks like an aggressive young bull snorting in preparation to charge, six dazzling wings protruding from its back; the figure at the southeast point looks like a flaming human figure bearing six fiery wings, one set of wings covering its face, another set of wings covering its feet; and the final entity at the southwest point looks like a six-winged eagle, each powerful wing in motion as the multi-eyed “eagle” hovered in place, each eagle-eye as watchful as the eyes of its fellows. A ribbon of emerald light surrounds them, arching over them like a shining “rainbow” of various shades of green and sparkling like the finest emerald.
Seated on the shining throne at the center of the four powerful winged entities is a robed human being I cannot see well, as it shone with a potent reddish-amber light that shifted through deep red and orange-red colors like a bonfire. At the sight of this fiery celestial Being, I kneel my head to the floor — in part out of a deep-seated reverence I could not explain as I cannot see who the Being is, in part to avert my eyes lest the tableau of light and colors surrounding me blinded me permanently.
I shield my eyes, and I see a lowly Lamb, though this Lamb is no ordinary member of Ovis aries. This seven-horned, seven-eyed lamb stood on His hind legs like a man, and His hands appeared eerily human. Painful-looking crimson scars mar its wrists, and a horrifying gash punctures its right fore-flank. This Lamb holds a simple scroll of well-worn parchment in its hands, the scroll bearing seven rich red wax seals, all of them freshly broken. Seven powerfully winged angels stood behind the Lab, each bearing a gleaming golden shofar in its hands.
Six angels have their trumpets lowered, having just played their blaring notes. The seventh angel brought his golden shofar closer to its face, ready to play its fateful tune.
The angels standing throughout the throne room loudly cried:
“THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD HAVE BECOME THE KINGDOM OF 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 AND HIS MESSIAH, AND HE WILL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER!”
The angel placed the shofar to its lips…
A shofar blasts, one long, powerful tekiah gedolah blast, and I am roused from my reverie by the spiritual alarm. I shut off the YouTube video of shofar sounds I had been playing for a moment of quiet reflection.
I have heard the song of the shofar at its appointed time — here at my domicile tonight, and echoing through my soul into eternity. The time for sleep is over, and the time to arise from slumber is upon us as we have now stepped into the Days of Awe. Time to wash away the old, watch it all pass away on Yom Kippur, and do something new with my life in the year 5785 Anno Mundi.
At this time, Rosh Hashanah — the Jewish “civil new year” observance1 — is at its close. Numbers 29:1 refers to it as Yom Teru’ah (“The Day of Sounding [of Trumpets / the Shofar]”)2, and it is considered the Shabbat Shabbaton or “the ultimate Sabbath” as well as the beginning of the High Holy Days or the Yamim Noraim (“Days of Awe”), the most sacred time in the Jewish calendar. It’s a time of deep reflection, introspection, and spiritual renewal.
Those who adhere to the Torah’s edicts are supposed to spend the month before Rosh Hashanah — the month of Elul — in penitent meditation. I loathe to admit this, but lately, it’s been one thing after another: the crush of work, the mental weariness afterward, the burdens of financial obligations I can barely meet, and the myriad of other day-to-day tasks I often struggle to accomplish or put off entirely… I’ve felt too buried by every responsibility I’ve been forced to face that I’ve felt like I’ve been smothered to sleep. Yet, I haven’t completely banished Rosh Hashanah from my mind; it’s been at the edge of my subconscious for some time now. I’ve peeked at the calendar now and then, watching the day draw nearer, like an insomniac awaiting their clock’s shrill alarm.
That’s what Rosh Hashanah is: it’s a spiritual alarm clock, with the blowing of the shofar as a living “wake up” call to change our lifestyles, as Rabbi Maimonides wrote in the fourth section of his chapter on Teshuvah (Repentance) in the Mishneh Torah.
It is as if [the shofar’s call] is saying: “Wake up you sleepy ones from your sleep and you who slumber, arise. Inspect your deeds, repent, remember your Creator […] Improve your ways and your deeds and let every one of you abandon his evil path and thoughts.”
For reasons I find difficult to explain, I feel tremendous exhilaration — a deep-seated emotional agitation, a turbulent spiritual arousal — at Rosh Hashanah. In light of this, I must ask: What was I hoping to be awakened to this Rosh Hashanah? What kind of deeds do I want to be remembered for in this life and in eternity?
I can almost see a glimpse of myself through an imaginary mirror… but it’s not myself I’m seeing, not really.
The person I see has fully realized himself. He knows exactly who he is, and he is wholly inhabiting every moment he lives. He works for a purpose. He writes for a purpose. He’s an artist, a filmmaker, a tzaddik at one with Adonai and possessing a clear vision, and he presses forward until that vision is made real by his hands and by the hands of those who struggled alongside him, in the merit of Yeshua and at the urgings of Adonai. He gives without expecting reward, he loves without holding anything back, and he smiles in the darkest of moments.
He seems so far from where I am and who I am now…
I can almost spot him now and then, out of the corner of my sight. I see how he dresses, how he moves, who he surrounds himself with… but I stare through a glass darkly, my head facing a different way. Work catches my sight and draws my vision one way, obligations turn my head in another, family toward a wholly different direction, and I never get a full, head-on glance at the person I’m striving to become.
Finances and health concerns, social struggles, and worldly woes press me back to sleep night after night, but it’s been a fitful slumber, the sleep of the resurrected-in-progress pushing as hard as possible against six feet of heavy earth while broken bones are still mending and muscle tissues are still reforming. I’m almost free… but free of what? What am I fighting against, and what am I really fighting for?
I will know soon enough! Rosh Hashanah is the wake-up call, and tonight the sleeper awakens…
