Drag ’n Tag

Soon we’re cruising through calm seas off Florida’s Atlantic coast. Volunteers toss big steel hooks baited with bloody chunks of bonito fish overboard, and heavy concrete anchors pull the bait to the sea floor, where it will hopefully attract some of the region’s largest sharks. Then the music starts. The cabin door pops open, and Miss Toto ��� a tall, muscular drag queen with a long red-and-blonde wig and a colorful ruffled costume reminiscent of a tropical fish — emerges and takes the makeshift stage. She dances and lip-synchs to Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” as the boat rolls with the waves. She’s soon joined by Viola Putx, who is dancing energetically to Bad Bunny in heavy black boots, a spiked collar and pointy elf ears, and finally by Opal Am Rah in a tight pink dress, performing (what else?) just gg x toto thoughts featuring a little toto/merc angst

thinking of this situation- gg and toto have an argument at the start of a race weekend but apologize and seemingly get over it but gg is still convinced that toto is upset with her (he’s just very stressed with all things merc and they really haven’t had time together)

gg ends up winning the race and something comes up and toto isn’t able to go to the podium and when gg notices that he’s not there that just fuels her thoughts that he’s mad at her and she’s just kind of spiraling and throughout post race press and such she just seems sad and not very happy about her win

of course social media starts buzzing why she seems sad and why toto isn’t celebrating- and I’m sure the usual suspects are making their rude commentary known but with everything it bothers gg unlike normal and toto is just kind of MIA

alex and lily would definitely be the ones to go hunt toto down ready to fight

this is quite literally my bread & butter (i love angst so much oh my god i liveeee for angst)

i feel like toto does come off as very abrasive or short sometimes (even when he doesn’t mean to be) and we know our gg can be a little sensitive (even if she has a thick skin) and so she just is in this mood all race weekend

george, lily, alex, & lewis are the only few people who she could really confide into (especially george and lew because they know toto very well and can get some inside info)

during the post race press she’s literally just sitting in her chair sulking while george and max are there with her (poor maxie wants to comfort her but he doesn’t quite understand why she’s so upset. she won!)

after the press conference she comes into the motor home and is just wrapped up in toto’s arms. he’s murmuring all the words she needs to hear while a warm shower is awaiting her arrival

There is the idea of all press is good press, and then there's the reality of it, and Williams Racing is the prime example.

We signed Logan to another season because we believe in him

The Reality:

James Vowles constantly saying the car isn't where it needs to be

Points previously were just out of reach

We have faith in our drivers, but don't look now, he's driving with a part from last year

Oh and he actually isn't the one who crashed a car but the one he's driving is heavier.

Logan's job is obviously on the line, we're talking to 4 or 5 people.

The fact is, when you open the door, the good and the bad both come, it's not a filter. James Vowles wanted to make his team more accessible, and frankly, that makes them more scrutinized. For all that we talk about Lewis and George dying, unless Toto is forced before a mic, he's not opening his mouth. I don't even know what Mike Krack looks like (also sidebar, he's not German people), but yet I can tell you exactly what James Vowles said on Friday because he posted it for the whole world to see.

There needs to be some boundaries, because the idea that points were tarnished by the fact that you have now twice admitted that key parts are not available for several races at a time is a problem. How does that happen when you finished higher last year than the year before?

I'm all for transparency. I'm not for no filter, no explanations just statements.
