Hold my coffee; my time has come.

It looks to me like a cross between a European duster and a Bedouin farwa. It's sleeveless, so right away we realize that it's mostly For the Aesthetic, but it serves the practical needs of a. shielding Evie's clothes from dust and dirt and b. keeping her warm at night (but again, with the sleeves missing it's only doing half the job). Here are some real life examples:

Evie's in TMR looks like it's made of a lightweight linen with decorative stitching down the back seam to give it a tribal feel, with the back seam opening at the base of the spine. I haven't looked too closely at the movie in a while, but I'd be surprised if the side seams weren't also split open.

For patterns I would recommend one of these three:

Top left is a Greek vest pattern that would be extremely easily adaptable into what Evie's wearing, Top Right is a traditional Tibetan panel coat whose sleeves you would need to adapt, and the bottom image is a traditional Turkish coat that is frankly gorgeous. If it were me, I'd go with the Greek pattern and adapt as necessary.

(Also why are all of these models white women? Alas.)

TL;DR: people have been draping themselves in long fabric coats for time out of mind and we can read Evie's duster coat as both stylish and functional, even if it is lacking sleeves. If you do make it, you don't have to make the slit up the back, but that was a thing you'll see in long coats of that sort, especially if there are horses involved. Split seams like that make for an easier time while riding.

This one. What is it called? I want to make my own or at least make something with the same shape. Maybe not the weird slit up the back.
