So I was racking my brain trying to think about queer representation in kids shows/movies I loved growing up and legitimately all I could come up with was Lyra Heartstrings & BonBon from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and Miss Spink & Miss Forcible from Coraline.

*There are other queer characters in MLP:FiM, BUT LyraBon are huge since the fandom shipped them for years before they were canon. Some others include Applejack & Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo's aunts, Sunset Shimmer (bi), King Sombra (bi), and Big Mac (bi, polyamorous/enjoys drag on screen).

And like I love them! Really, I do! But MAN was it sad to realize just how little queer rep I remember growing up with and seeing on screen. Lyra & BonBon were the first blatant in-your-face undeniable queer rep of ANY kind I saw on screen, in fact, and their romance wasn't blatantly established until 5 years into the show. I'm so incredibly glad that kid's media is showing more queer rep these days and in more diverse ways (not shading either of the above examples, it's just that a wide variety of queer rep is important!). I still adore the queer characters I did get to see on screen, and I love seeing new media that boldly and proudly represents queerness for kid's media nowadays (I'm still obsessed with Nimona, y'all better go watch that movie it's a miracle it even got made). I just look back and think about how much easier life could have been if I were exposed to my kind of queerness as a kid; I haven't seen a queer transmasc character in a kid's show until very very recently. I'm glad kiddos like me will see those characters and feel less confusion or fear about themselves because of it. But I'm sad to have had to go through it.

Thank you, my little lesbian ponies and silly old circus lesbians, for introducing me to a world I didn't yet know I was a part of. It did make things easier in a way.

Let's start. . .

You and Elizabeth were playing in her room. You weren't a fan of playing with the little dollies but you couldn't complain anything to get your mind off of your feelings.

Unknowingly without even wanting to you start tearing up and sniffle.

Your sister immediately looks up from your little doll show you were doing and hugs you.

"M/N.." she says her voice unusually silent.

"I-I miss him. W..why did he have t-t-to d-die????!" You cried hugging her.

Elizabeth hugged you tighter she didn't know what to say.

Father was so mean recently especially to mikey she saw him hit him but Elizabeth didn't care..

She hated Mikey

She hated Michael Afton

So so much that's all she felt

Hatred. . ..

He killed her triplet..

She hated him so much

Elizabeth tried to think cheerfully so she can smile and her brother as well.

"Hey M/N , Daddy made a new location we're going tomorrow he made a circus baby just for me and and I also saw on his blue paper thingy a bear! You love bear's you can go see the bear while I can go see circus baby!!" She said cheerfully leaving out the part were she was warned not to go near her. .

You looked at her

"r.. really??" You said

"yup if I remember correctly his name is Funtime Freddy and he has a little puppet in his hand BonBon!" She said happy you're smiling.

You gasped in excitement you loved bear's!

"I can't wait!"

You couldn't wait to see the bear...

The next day came quickly and now both of you were finally here you saw the bear in the posters you wanted a closer look!

"Hey Michael" you asked looking up at your brother s killer

He looked down at you and you didn't fail to notice the bandage on his cheek.

"Yeah ?" He said

You told him that you and Elizabeth saw your friend and wanted to go play with her and he reluctantly let you go when he felt blood going down his nose.

"alright,stay where I can see you I need to take care of my bloody nose"

The moment he turned around to grab his bag both of you ran and giggled

"The bear auditorium is that way M/N I'm gonna see Circus baby." She said pointing to the right.

"okay Eli, you better tell me about Circus baby when you're done I'll do the same"

With a quick hug you ran to your death

You giggled you were so excited.

When you arrived you noticed how big he was! He was so pretty.

You were alone with him.

"Oh look BonBon" Funtime Freddy said.

You gasped he talked! You loved his voice.

You giggled and waved at him. "Funtime Freddy , BonBon Can I ask you something?" You said excitedly not forgetting to mention BonBon you didn't want him to feel left out.

"Anything Birthday boy!" Ft freddy replied.

"You look so pretty,can I have a hug? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" You asked happily.

"of course come here!" He said and BonBon giggled.

As you went in for the hug his stomach hatch opened and before you can scream you were already inside.

Hey, hey, hey, I'm still alive! :D The last couple of weeks have come and gone like a blur, and my motivation unfortunately escaped me for a while. :'D Especially once I ended up getting really attached to a new game. But I finally managed to drag myself away from it, sit down and just draw. And here's the result! <3 Funtime Freddy and Bonbon have always been super close, but Funtime Freddy also has a pretty tight bond with Funtime Foxy. So the three of them together are an unstoppable throuple of adorableness! x'D That big bear has lots of love to give, after all! He may come off as loud and maybe even a little deranged, but he's really just a big, lovable doofus. And Foxy and Bonbon both absolutely adore him to bits. <3 And of course, he absolutely adores them both right back! xD Honestly I couldn't decide whether to go with Funtime Fron Fron or Funtime Frexy, so you know what, let's just have both! x'D FT Freddy and Bonbon are basically a set already, so I guess you could just say Funtime Foxy's getting two for the price of one! ;3 Lucky fox, ain't he?

Disguised and Disgusted - story under the read-more

The Robber Baron shifted in her chair. Anxiety had filled her body since the moment she sat down. She glanced at her friend, a Mover-and-Shaker sitting at the same table. While they were doing what they were supposed to, it was unnerving. The truth is, they're both toons.

Their mission was a simple one: Test out their Cog Disguises (without getting caught), and also gather intel. This exact situation isn't what anyone had in mind however...

Waiters came by the table and served cans of oil. A Micromanager sitting with them thanked the waiters, and began to happily sip the oil. The Mover-and-Shaker looked at the oil, trying her best to not cringe obviously. The two decided to not touch their oil cans for now.

Meanwhile, two more Toons kept a close eye on them while hiding away. While it would be easy to just hear about the results after this experiment, these two always think it's good to have another set of eyes on the scene. They both had built the Cog Disguises after all, and they wanted to see first hand how the other two would do. The sea-green cat whispered, "The disguises are working well! It's like as if they blend right in!" The yellow cat chimed in, "The designs are unique, but you're right, they work well." Seeing the oil being served, however, neither of them decided to question how the group got into this predicament.

The Micromanager finally chimed in after enjoying her serving. "Oh, girls, have you not finished your drinks yet?" The Robber Baron and Mover-and-Shaker looked at her, then at each other. "It's quality stuff, you know. I can get plenty of it too because I help out with the catering, so please help yourselves!" "I'm uh... not hungry," the Robber Baron said. "I ate earlier since I didn't know we were gonna be... here." She smiled meekly, and pushed her can towards the Micromanager. "You can have my serving." Do Cogs even eat? She wondered if maybe she could have said something different to deflect suspicions, if there were any. The Micromanager then turned to the Mover-and-Shaker. "How about you? Is yours alright?" The Mover-and-Shaker had a look of surprise and anxiety, but soon answered. "No thanks!" She said as a quick and nervous response. The Micromanager leaned forward with her arms on the table and a hand resting on her face. "I know you two must be nervous... You're both new hires, but I'm determined to help guide you through this company!" The two disguised Toons looked at each other, confused; It wasn't too long ago that they were fighting this one very Cog, albeit without their disguises on. Of course, they were never going to see this side of her as Toons, but it still surprised them that she acted so caringly for those she saw as new or lower. "Of course, that's why I thought it would be a great idea to bring you two to the Banquet! You'll get to socialize and learn about everything that goes on here." "Socialize..." the Robber Baron mumbled. "Of course, of course..." the Mover-and-Shaker said, too confused to do anything else.

While this would technically be "gathering intel", it wasn't the ideal place and event to do so. This wasn't their first time in the disguises, but they hardly understood what the norms of Cogs even were. Of course, they existed, and they seemed fundamentally different from Toons, but the details... they never bothered with the details, actually. It's as if they landed on an alien planet, and had to act quickly and accordingly to something completely new. The fact that the two have been guided by the Micromanager was both a blessing and curse, as well; They could learn some of the norms from her, but if they messed up she would be the one to see it. The two cats slowly became worried. "You know, Jellyroll, I think we should be more concerned with the toons inside the disguises," the yellow one said. "Hmm... fine. We can't have them being found out, after all." In the Robber Baron and Mover-and-Shaker's earpieces, a voice emerged. "Gator! Sparkle! We're not feeling too confident in your acting skills." The Robber Baron discreetly glanced over to the place she knew the two cats were hiding, and started to tap her finger anxiously. "Of course, it'll be easier to blend in once you get exposed to more suit-uations... but for now, try mimicking what everyone else in the room is doing!" Looking around, the Robber Baron knew everyone was chatting and drinking oil. She knew Jellyroll was kind of insane, but he couldn't be recommending..? A waiter holding more oil cans came by suddenly, preparing to serve more oil cans by taking the two empty ones. "Is everything okay? This one drink hasn't been touched and you've hardly asked for refills," They asked. The Mover-and-Shaker suddenly spoke. "N-no, everything's good! The oil's good!" The waiter nodded and moved on. "I just haven't drank it yet 'cause I want to savour it," she explained to the Micromanager. The other three thought this was a good save, until the Mover-and-Shaker drank some of the oil. She did her best to hold back a look of disgust, and also hold back from throwing up the oil right then and there. The Micromanager noticed something was wrong. "Is everything alright...?" The voice in the earpieces rang out, saying in a forceful whisper, "Sparklezilla, what the HELL did you do?!" She wiped her mouth. "You were right, it's quality stuff.. but... I'm a lightweight it seems," she said, smiling nervously. "Ah!" said the Micromanager. "That makes sense; You're not as strong as your Robber Baron friend, huh?" Gator thought to herself, That made SENSE to her?? She felt somewhat relieved that at least that her friends were somehow both insane but also geniuses.. or Sparklezilla simply got lucky. Either way, their cover wasn't blown, and they seemed to dispel any suspicions once again. The two cats looked on, absolutely baffled. "Bonbon," Jellyroll suddenly said, turning to the yellow cat, "I think next time we'll have to sneak in some soda for those two..."

The rest of the night went as planned, with Gator gathering info about the Cogs. Of course, it was boring, but it was nothing compared to Sparklezilla, who sat there the entire night, sick to her stomach.
