So...Minecraft movie. Trailer. I wasn't aware that they were making a Minecraft movie. I've known about the Story mode version, but I didn't play it. I did once, but I didn't have the patience for it. I only played the original game.
The live action film is...Odd. The visuals, how it appears the graphics I will say, is the only good part. The sheep, are designed to look weird. I get why they try to keep them, as original as possible. But, the design, choice, the skin. It still does not look cute.
If there is a way to model them, to look cute. I suppose, it'll have to be digitalized like the Mario texture. Like cartoonish, but still keep their fluff. I think, it'll look better.
I remember, watching a movie, that had Adam Sandler in it, where it had the classic video game models in the real human world, looking like their original design. I remember it being a fun movie, and it worked.
The humans, in the Minecraft world. Where it looks realistic, looks strange. The character choice of their clothing...It's random. To me. They've had movies, where the humans turn into the characters, but sharpen it up, for the film. And it is shown to work well.
Jack Black, and his role as Steve. This is a big one, in my opinion. He suits better as a voice actor for any character, that he fits the role in. Ok, I have to be honest on this one. How I picture Steve.
The main character, in Minecraft. I think, Steve should be given a different actor. Jack Black is an amazing actor, and person. I think his role as Steve, does not quite fit. He'd have a boisterous personality.
Yet, for Steve, he is more muscular, athletic, and bold. Jack black doesn't match that aesthetic. He isn't as young, as he was.
And I think, a younger person should take on Steves role. Whoever it will be. Jack Black's role as Bowser, fit's, and it was fantastic. For Steve, it's not.
I think, that the film, looks rushed. If they were to make this successful. They have to Improve it. They have to Improve the mechanics, and make it accurate.
Some of the character models, such as the Creeper, still looks like a rag doll to me. They need to be solid, and mixed up, or something. They've got to be that more unsettling.
The Pigmen looks okay, but they have to be serious. And they have to be Intelligent. I think, the Movie do have to be worked on longer.
Those are my takes, about the movie so far.

Most Likely Smash Bros. Ultimate Characters
Considering that last time, I basically just listed impossible characters, I thought I’d step out of my massive hype shoes and look at what’s genuinely a bit more realistic. We already know from Sakurai that there won’t be many more characters, if any, but a leak from a fairly reliable source has said that we may get around a half a dozen more newcomers before release. So this is my listed final prediction of most likely base and DLC characters and echo fighters, with some background info and hopefully less bias. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: This list is wrong. It’s wrong in advance. But you never know, might be right.
BASE GAME:
1. Simon Belmont (Castlevania)
Admittedly, I’m jumping on the Vergeben train for this one, but he’s been right about everything before, right?
For those who don’t know, this Vergeben dude predicted that the Ice Climbers and Snake would be returning, as well as the whole of the SSB4 roster. He also said that Ridley from Metroid and Simon Belmont would be joining the roster as newcomers. So far, he has predicted everything correctly, except Belmont, who assumedly hasn’t been announced yet (okay, he also mentioned something about Minecraft, but we’ll ignore that for now). There’s also the fact that Konami and Nintendo must be pretty friendly right now, considering Snake’s return. Castlevania, while a little outdated now, is still a relatively well-known title and could act as this Smash game’s retro newcomer.
So yeah, could be totally wrong on this, but honestly we’ve got no fuckin idea what Sakurai will do, so speculation is all we’ve got.
2. Rayman
I’m probably showcasing a little bit of that bias that I said wouldn’t be in this list, but surprise, breaking my own rules again. Ignoring the fact that he was my number 1 pick for my most wanted newcomers, but I’ve got a genuine bit of evidence for this pick. First off, Rayman, along with side characters from the series Globox and Barbara, all had a trophy presence in SSB4 for Wii U, despite the fact that there’s been no other Rayman content in the series to date. This suggests to me that Rayman has at least been considered in the past and, considering the nature of his games, he basically has a premade moveset. Just add a final smash and some specials and this character almost makes itself. However, a lot of people have been citing Mario x Rabbids as a reason that one of the Rabbids will be put in instead of Rayman. But I think that, considering the roster for this game was apparently finalised in late 2016 according to a recent interview with Sakurai, back when Mario x Rabbids was only rumoured, it seems likely that a Ubisoft rep is most likely to be Rayman, especially with the characters long history and popularity. Not saying the Rabbids are impossible, but at most, I reckon they’ll be an assist trophy. Also, Rayman got remastered for Switch. So I guess that’s another thing.
3. King K. Rool (Donkey Kong series)
Honestly, I reckon this is the most likely on this list. Donkey Kong is one of the most iconic franchises in Smash Bros, but to date it only has two reps, the second being added in Brawl. The fact that it’s been a while since a new rep, there aren’t many reps at all and that this character is very, very heavily requested all screams to be that King K. Rool is an almost certain pick for a new character. This would also tick the ‘villain’ and ‘heavyweight’ boxes that Smash seems to have less of at the minute, as well as giving one of Smash’s biggest first party franchises another big rep. There are other characters from DK that could’ve been here, but we’ll get there later.
4. Dark Samus (Samus echo fighter, Metroid series)
Under usual circumstances, I’d say it’s fairly unlikely for a franchise to get two reps in one new game, but there’s a fair amount of evidence to suggest that Dark Samus is going to become her own echo fighter this time around. As a general thing, I think that considering the fact that echo fighters are a brand new feature for this game, it seems unlikely that we’ll literally only get the three we’ve been shown. So cue Dark Samus, with her iconic costume shown as removed from Samus’ selection screen as well as a currently missing assist trophy, the way seems to have been cleared for Dark Samus to be announced. It’s kind of funny to me that if this happens, we will have four Metroid reps and three of them will be Samus.
5. Shadow (Sonic echo fighter, Sonic series)
Okay, so my reasoning for this pick is pretty much the same as the last; Shadow’s assist trophy was also missing from the E3 reveal and gameplay and seems to have been replaced with Knuckles. Seems a little odd to do this, as it’s not as if Knuckles was a highly requested assist really, so that suggests to me they’ve got plans for Shadow as his own character. There have been arguments that Shadow could be his own character with his own moveset potential, which I guess is true, but then again he’s a hedgehog who goes fast like Sonic does. Plus, it makes sense for them to advertise and use the new echo feature as much as possible to hype up the game. So here’s Shadow. Ta dah.
6. Geno (Super Mario RPG)
Here’s my sixth and final pick for base game additions. If I’m fully honest, I know fuckin nothing about the Mario RPG series because I never played it. All I know is that literally everyone is requesting this wooden boi. What makes this more likely for me as a base addition is also the fact that we know Sakurai has wanted him in the past so now seems like a pretty apt time for that to happen. Also, you know, he had a Mii Gunner costume in SSB4 so that’s a thing. Not gonna pretend I know anything about Geno, but at this point he’s among the most likely.
DLC:
1. Crash Bandicoot
Right here is probably one of the most requested Smash characters of all time, but I’m gonna put it out there and call it that we probably, definitely won’t see Crash appear in the base game. Reason being that, as I said, the roster was finalised back in 2016 and back then, as far as I’m aware, Activision and Nintendo didn’t quite have the same close(ish) relationship they have now. The Crash N Sane Trilogy wasn’t confirmed for Switch or any other platform than the PS4 until earlier this year, so if we’re seeing this guy, he’ll be DLC. And somehow I think we will.
2. Spring Man (ARMS)
ARMS is a pretty popular first party game that came to the switch last year. Spring Man and his massive arms would be very easy to translate to a Smash game. Plus, using arms as weapons would make for a pretty unique character. I reckon that the only reason Spring Man won’t be in the base game is purely because this game didn’t release until 2017, so I’d expect to see this guy or maybe Ribbon Girl pop up as DLC somewhere along the line. Whichever one doesn’t end up playable will likely be an assist trophy or something.
3. Funky Kong & Dixie Kong (Echo fighter double pack, Donkey Kong series)
A lot of people are arguing whether or not one of these characters will appear, but I personally think they both will. I don’t think they’ll be in the base game purely because there’s already a couple of echo fighters, as well as another DK rep in my likely base game list, but it makes a lot of sense to me that they’ll be available to buy together as like a DK bundle, with Funky echoing Donkey Kong and Dixie echoing Diddy Kong. This seems even more likely considering the new Funky Kong mode in the DK country Switch remaster and also that Dixie has been a pretty highly requested character for a while as it is. I get that a lot of people are saying that Dixie should have her own moveset because she has hair or whatever, but I don’t think it matters too much, she basically has the same appearance as Diddy. I guess Cranky Kong is another possibility for a DK rep, but I don’t see it considering the other potential reps.
4. Banjo & Kazooie
Right now, Banjo Kazooie is under Microsoft, but a recent tweet from the VP of Xbox Phil Spencer saying that he’d love to see Banjo & Kazooie in Smash kind of says to me that this could very well happen. But like, obviously, if the guy has only just said that Banjo & Kazooie would be cool in Smash. So yeah, if anything, DLC.
5. *Gen 8 Pokemon*
Okay, so I know nothing about Pokemon. Like at all. I’ve never even played a game. All I know is that a lot of people talk about Decidueye being included, but that kinda seems unlikely to me because that one is Gen 7 and a lot of the hype is around these new Pokemon games. So it makes a lot of sense to me that they’ll include a brand new starter Pokemon as a later DLC addition, considering that I think Gen 8 is coming in 2019? It’s something like that.
So there you have it. Here’s my wrong ass list. If I get any of these right, I will be very proud of myself. Guess we’ll find out in December.
Go live ur best life.

Indie Games and AAA Games
The Difference between Indie and AAA games
Indie games rose to popularity due the late 2000’s giving the small games developer a chance to expand in the gaming market. Indie games have many advantages to the bigger games developers the main one being no publisher or other outside agencies to interfere to put pressure on the development of the game. Individual or small teams of games developers, very often without much financial backing produce their games and sell them on social media such as Facebook,Twitter, and a very popular choice is Steam. Indie games have slowly evolved into the new way to play games with a good selection of genre with no competition from the bigger companies. Kickstarter also seemed to revolutionize the game industry looking for small investors and also creating a lot of public interest in these games means that the Indie game industry does not have to lay out loads of money on advertising.
However, researching the best Indie games of all time was a bit disappointing though as one reviewer commented on the fact that they were still waiting for some of the promised games to emerge. That’s Indie games for you – you get them when they’re ready! There is no pressure from the publishers and Indie games will work at a much more relaxed pace. However popular the Indie game industry is becoming it is still quite rare for them to make massive profits such as with 2D Boy developing such games as World of Goo and Eyebrow Interactive producing Bombernauts are being classed as some of the top Indie games for 2016.

One such exception is of course Markus Perssons maker of Minecraft. Selling over 800,000 copies of the game producing 30 millions dollars – not all profit of course with taxes and paypal fees taken out.

On the other end of the scale AAA games are made to make massive profits. With GTA V being the most successful of AAA games to this date selling an approximately 65 millions copies and making a massive $800 million on the first day of release. GTA V outsold games such as Assassins Creed, Pokemon and Call of Duty.

http://www.joystikrevolution.com/creative-freedom/
So how much creative freedom does the Indie game have? Well the small team help make it more accessible, with daily meetings to keep the small group of workers in the loop and a case of what they want, how they want it and when they want it. As Indie developers are more independent and have less money involved risks can be taken so sometimes a more diverse game can be developed. With software becoming more and more accessible to the budget sized game developer creating a unique game, exploring new themes and not afraid to take risks give the creator much more freedom. It has been quoted that even top developers in the AAA industry have moved away from the big game industry so they can have that freedom back that Indie developers have. Cliff Blizinski who at one time was the epitome of AAA games industry has abandoned Epic games and Gears of War to retreat to the freedom and versatility of a new small studio. He now has the freedom to make the games he wants when he wants them.
The AAA developers not only have themselves to consider but the investors who sometimes can have no understanding of the business anyway. Paperwork mounts up and the informal chats regarding new concepts for new games are non-existent due to financial pressures. Decisions and ideas have to be discussed further up the chain and so not as spontaneous as with the Indie market. The AAA games are developed by large organisations and are developed by the backing of investors and publishers who are expecting a large return on their investments. It is a high pressured industry and there is a lot of money at stake to produce a good selling game. Generally publishers will produce the game for all console platforms such as X Box One, PS4, and PC to maximise profits. However, makers can sometimes make games exclusively for one console such as The Last of Us for PS4. The maker will pay heavily for this privilege. Also a lot of AAA games will have add ons such as DLC’s and season passes which all helps with the profits. It also encourages fans of their favourite game to follow the storylines continually for many a year. As with Indie games where there is an almost relaxed feel about release dates this is utmost for the AAA game producers. Lots of money is spent on advertising and release dates and fans of the game will pre-order and go to buy their game at special launch occasions. Also when the final adjustments are made to the game a very small alteration can be difficult to change and therefore a game can be released with some flaws or glitches in it as it was too late to alter in the time frame and budget allowances.
Generally there is a place for these two games to work well in the gaming world, but both must develop themselves along the way so they don’t become complacent when another gaming producer will come along and snatch the market.

I’m reluctant to call these studios indie but they definitely are not on the scale of the places they left, in every other manner they match the description of an indie studio, hence the blurred lines. He can now make the games he wants how he wants and when he wants.
http://wethenerdy.com/blurred-lines-the-difference-between-aaa-and-indie/
A gamers definition of the word would be small, small teams that make games. Compare Telltale that have 180-200 employees and Valve’s 330 to Hello Games (makers of No Mans Sky) 10 employees and Polytrons 2 man partnership to make Fez, all four of these companies are “independently owned” and two of them are known for an indie title.
A title to be considered “AAA” is therefore expected to be a high quality game and to be among the years best sellers, which is exactly what we are expecting of the upcoming independent titles of Sony and Microsoft. No Mans Sky is among the list and was featured at Sony’s E3 press conference and arguably stole the show, that same conference opened up with Destiny, one of the biggest triple A title to come.
